Solid Yet Loveless (Rev. 2:1-7) | Pastor John Fabarez
Check yourself to see if your love for Christ has grown cold, and then stir your affections to love him more and serve him with greater zeal.

Seeing the King (Rev. 1:12-20) | Pastor John Fabarez
Elevate your current view of Christ because it’s not high enough until you see him face to face!

The Revelation of Jesus Christ (Rev.1:1-11) | Pastor John Fabarez
Be diligent to study and obey the Book of Revelation because of the blessings, encouragement, and comfort it gives to those who take its message seriously.

True North (Psalm 16) | Pastor John Fabarez
Our theme passage is a confidence song from David about how he trusts God and find security for this life and eternity! Our goal in True North is to see our students develop this same faith in God.

God is Satisfying (Ecclesiastes 12:9-14) | Pastor John Fabarez
The bottom line instructions for our life is that we would rightly view God as our king and Lord and do what he says every day. Whether you are a HS student, or a parent, or a senior citizen like Solomon, we need to fear God and obey him.

Stressing Out is Unsatisfying (Ecclesiastes 11:9-12:1) | Pastor John Fabarez
God’s word tells the “young man” to rejoice in his youth and to remove vexation from his heart and pain from his body, but that he should also remember that God will bring everything he does into judgment. What a timely message for high school students today!

Recklessness is Unsatisfying (Ecclesiastes 10:1-3, 8-9, 8:10-13) | Senior Weekend
True North High School Ministry

Laughter is Unsatisfying (Ecclesiastes 7:1-6) | Pastor John Fabarez
Solomon teaches us that there is more to gain from going to a funeral and contemplating death than from going to a party and forgetting about the realities of life. We need to be wise and seriously consider matters of life and death.

Money is Unsatisfying (Ecclesiastes 5:10-6:9) | Pastor John Fabarez
Solomon teaches us that chasing money doesn’t satisfy us and possessing a lot of wealth comes with a lot of anxieties. It is best for us to do our jobs and receive whatever God gives with thanksgiving.

Loneliness is Unsatisfying (Ecclesiastes 4:7-12) | Nathan Yovichin
In our digitally connected world, teenagers are more lonely than ever before. We want to encourage our students to build God-glorifying friendships now in High School!

Did Jesus Really Rise From the Dead? | True North United | Pastor John Fabarez
Did Jesus Really Rise From the Dead? | True North United | Pastor John Fabarez

Pleasure is Unsatisfying (Ecclesiastes 2:1-11) | Pastor John Fabarez
King Solomon was the ultimate pleasure-seeker and he got everything the world had to offer, but called it all empty and vain in the end. Our students need to believe it, or they will waste their life!

Time is Unsatisfying (Ecclesiastes 3:1-15) | Ashton Jacobs
God makes everything under the sun for a season of time, and wise people recognize God’s providence in each season. Our students would be wise to appreciate their current season of life and to use their time to do important things.

Life is Unsatisfying (Ecclesiastes 1) | Pastor John Fabarez
We started the book of Ecclesiastes where the preacher tells us that everything in this life is empty and vain without God! While some of us intellectually agree, most high school students really believe and live like the world will satisfy them, but Christians need to stop thinking that way!

Faith for the Future (Genesis 48-50) | Pastor John Fabarez
We finished the book of Genesis by looking at the faith and prophecies of Jacob and Joseph before they died. We should test our faith and be devoted to grow a deeper trust in God for all the big and small things in our life.

Reversing the Revenge (Genesis 45-46) | Nathan Yovichin
We studied Joseph’s full-fledged forgiveness of his brothers. There are many helpful insights about what Joseph does and does not do that teach us how to forgive. We pray for this sermon to maintain unity through biblical reconciliation when any conflict or bitterness arises!

From Prison to Power (Genesis 40-44) | Pastor John Fabarez
God taught Joseph to trust him in prison so that he would honor him when in power. Joseph saved Egypt and his brothers instead of taking revenge. Our students should follow Joseph’s example and give up grudges!

Always Learning (Titus 2:4-5) | True Women | Alexandra Fabarez
True North High School Ministry women's workshop

Two Affairs (Genesis 38-39) | True North High School Ministry | Pastor John Fabarez
Our next text discusses two brothers who respond in opposite ways when tempted by sexual sin. Judah runs into it and Joseph runs away from it. We need to order our lives by insights we gain from Judah and Joseph’s examples.

Golden Boy Sold for Silver (Genesis 37) | Pastor John Fabarez
We are starting a new series this week on the life of Joseph where he is treated unfairly but patiently trusts God. In Genesis 37, each family member acts selfishly. We should learn from their bad example and also see God’s sovereignty in the sinful choices of the people in our lives.

Wrestling with God (Genesis 32-33) | Pastor John Fabarez
Jacob has to deal with God before he is confronted by his brother Esau after a 20-year-long break in their rivalry. Jacob needs the mercy of God and his brother! So he struggles all night with the angel of the Lord, and he is humbled, then changed. We must go through a similar experience of “wrestling” as we deal with God to find mercy!

A More Transformative Word (Colossians 3:16) | Revival: Winter Edition 2025 | Pastor John Fabarez
RWE 2025: Session 3

A More Authoritative Word (2 Timothy 3:16-17) | Revival: Winter Edition 2025 | Pastor John Fabarez
RWE 2025: Session 2

A More Sure Word (2 Peter 1:16-21) | Revival: Winter Edition 2025 | Pastor John Fabarez
A More Sure Word (2 Peter 1:16-21) | Revival: Winter Edition 2025 | Pastor John Fabarez

Learning by Experience (Genesis 28-31) | Pastor John Fabarez
In these four chapters, we cover 20 difficult years in Jacob’s life where he is refined by pain that God allows in his life. It all starts with God’s promise to be with Jacob through it all. This is the right perspective for Christians today to have about their pain, trials, and discipline from God.

How to Wreck a Family (Genesis 27) | Pastor John Fabarez
Each member of the patriarchal family sins in Genesis 27, and they wreck their relationships with each other. Each family acts in their own self-interest without considering what God would want them to do. I want our students to consider God’s desire for their actions every day!

Digging Old Wells (Genesis 26) | Pastor John Fabarez
Isaac’s life seems ordinary compared to his father Abraham’s and his son Jacob’s adventurous journeys. Our students can learn to study the truth of old times and walk in the steps of faithful people who have come before us.

Selling Out (Genesis 25) | Pastor John Fabarez
We are introduced to Isaac, Rebekah, Esau, and Jacob: a family of sinners. Our text shows Esau indulging his fleshly appetites and throwing away his future because he doesn’t care about eternal and spiritual things. How many church kids throw away spiritual blessings because they are enticed by their appetites!

Direction for Dating | Pastor John Fabarez
In a break between Genesis sermons, we spent our time talking about everyone’s favorite question-producing topic: dating. We discussed the things the Bible clearly condemns and then talked about some wise guidelines for navigating romance leading to marriage.

Self-Inflicted Starvation (Amos 8:11-12) | Pastor John Fabarez
In our day of abundance of Bibles, it is a shame that most Christians choose to direct most of their attention to worthless things instead of God’s life-giving word. This is a self-inflicted wound that our students can avoid by establishing good habits to read their Bibles.

The Promised Son (Genesis 21-22) | Compass Bible Church
Isaac, the promised son, is finally born after 25 years of waiting in faith. Then Abraham is told to banish Ishmael and sacrifice Isaac. In both scenes, God’s word is clear and Abraham’s obedience is immediate. We need to learn obedience from Abraham.

Responding to God's Wrath (Genesis 18-19) | Pastor John Fabarez
God told Abraham his plan to destroy Sodom but Abraham pleads for mercy for the sake of the righteous. Then God’s angels mercifully save Lot. Our students need to adopt the attitude of Abraham about God’s wrath and avoid the self-destructive compromises of Lot.

Impatience and Promises (Genesis 16-18) | Pastor John Fabarez
Sometimes God wants his people to wait patiently. Sometimes he wants us act quickly. Abraham and Sarah show us how to fail and how to succeed in these two areas. Our students will benefit from learning patience from their example instead of from the pain of God’s consequences.

Justified by Faith (Genesis 15) | Pastor John Fabarez
In the midst of God’s great promises to Abram, the text of Genesis tells us that Abram trusted God and God considered him righteous. In Romans 4 and Galatians 3, we find out this is the experience of every person who places their faith in Jesus as well.

Bouncing Back (Genesis 13-14) | Pastor John Fabarez
After a terrible failure of faith in Egypt, Abram bounces back in his separation and subsequent rescue of his nephew Lot. Our faith in God will be tested, and when we fail, we should get back up and respond like Abram.

God's Grand Promise (Genesis 12:1-9) | Pastor John Fabarez
We are introduced to Abram, the father of people who have faith in God. He receives a command to leave his homeland and a promise from God, so he responds with action. Our students should exercise the same faith in God’s word.

A New Rebellion (Genesis 11:1-9) | Pastor John Fabarez
Wrapping up the Primeval History of Genesis 1-11, Moses tells us the tragic account of the Tower of Babel when humanity banded together against God and his authority. The world is still doing the same things today! We should humbly live by every word that comes from God.

Society's Fresh Start (Genesis 9:1-17) | Pastor John Fabarez
We are still living in the post-flood world, where God’s instructions and rules for Noah’s descendants apply! Genesis 9 is an important passage to mold our Christian worldview.

Sin Will be Judged (Genesis 6-8) | Nathan Yovichin
God brings judgment to the sinful world through a universal flood and God is bringing judgment upon the world again for its sin. Our students need to find safety in Christ.

Sin's Slippery Slope (Genesis 4:1-16) | Pastor John Fabarez
Cain and Abel show us a frightening example of how bad sin can get when we let sin fester in our hearts. My prayer is that those of our students who live like Cain would be turned by God to a new kind of life!

Devastating Consequences (Genesis 3:8-24) | Pastor John Fabarez
When Adam and Eve sinned, they faced massive consequences from God. We bear the same kinds of repercussions for our sinful actions as well. Thankfully, in the midst of the curse God promises hope of redemption through Christ.

Satan's Strategies (Genesis 3:1-7) | Pastor John Fabarez
Satan’s main tactic in temptation is to attack the truthfulness of God’s word and the goodness of God’s commands. Our students need to be trained to stand up to Satan’s age-old schemes by trusting and obeying God’s word.

Created for Each Other (Genesis 2:18-25) | Pastor John Fabarez
God says it is not good for man to be alone so he makes woman, and he will explain more the implications of this truth in the rest of the Bible. It is essential for our students to know and believe what God says about marriage and gender in our confused and rebellious world.

True Women: Your Dominion | Alexandra Fabarez
True North High School Ministry

Created to Rule the World (Genesis 1:28-2:17) | Pastor John Fabarez
We studied the creation mandate from God to humanity and pushed our students to consider God’s purposes for men and women in his world. The most important action we can do to live out our purpose is to obey God’s word without hesitation or questioning.

Created in God's Image (Genesis 1:26-27) | Pastor John Fabarez
The image of God is the defining characteristic of humanity in the creation account. It is the first thing we learn about humans in the Bible! If our students understand what it means for all people to be made in the image of God and the implications of this idea, they will be equipped to discern whatever lies the world spreads about humanity.

Created in Six Days (Genesis 1:3-25, 2:1-3) | Pastor John Fabarez
Genesis 1 is a text written in the historical narrative style and it teaches that God made our world in six days and then he rested on the seventh. Our students need to see the massive worldview and theological problems with the modern myth of naturalistic evolution.

The Uncreated Creator (Genesis 1:1-2) | Pastor John Fabarez
As we begin our yearlong study of the book of Genesis, we must stop and consider all the theology and worldview data that is contained in the first verses of the Bible. God was in the beginning and created the world by the word of his power. Everything Christians believe depends on this!

That God is First in Your Heart (1 John 5:21) | Pastor John Fabarez
John ends his letter with a warning against idols. Christians today can make idols of any good gift from God if we devote ourselves to them more than to God. In our hearts, we need to be on guard against this foolish and shameful sin!

That Your Prayers Will Be Heard (1 John 5:13-15)| Ashton Jacobs
Don’t be satisfied until you are assured that you have a saving relationship with God.
