All other end-times events really hinge on Israel being regathered. But here’s what many people don’t understand: The Bible predicts multiple end-times gatherings of the Jewish people. Many believe these prophecies were fulfilled after the Babylonian captivity, but when you read Zechariah—written after that return—he speaks of a future restoration. Isaiah 11:11 says God will recover His people “the second time.” If the last regathering is the second one, there can only be one before it. The first regathering—happening now since 1948—is partial, gradual, and in unbelief. The second will be full, instantaneous, and in faith. As you’ve probably noticed, the title for today’s Prophecy Perspectives is a little different because I don’t focus on a single Bible passage, but refer to many passages to help us understand this broad question. Next time we’ll talk about what I call Satan’s last stand, when he’s released from the Abyss at the end of the Millennium. But before we leave this topic, I want to devote one video to a really important question that sometimes gets overlooked: Why is there going to be a Millennium? Why the millennium? Amillennialists and Postmillennialists would say we’re currently in the Millennium and when Jesus comes, there’ll be a general resurrection and judgment, then straight to the Eternal State. But the Premillennial position believes Christ will come to establish His Messianic Kingdom on earth for a literal thousand years. So what’s the purpose of Christ’s reign on earth? Why can’t we just go from the Second Coming straight to Eternity? You know, the word “utopia” was coined in 1516 by Sir Thomas More, meaning literally “no place”—and that’s certainly true of earth right now. But the Bible tells us that someday when Jesus returns, there will be ten centuries of global peace and prosperity. Today I want to answer two of the most controversial questions about the Millennial Kingdom: Will there be a literal Temple on earth during the Millennium? And will animal sacrifices be offered there? I believe the Bible teaches there will be a fourth Jewish Temple—what I call the Millennial Temple or Ezekiel’s Temple, described in Ezekiel chapters 40 through 48. This Temple will be massive—one mile square—and the glory of God will fill it. It’s titled The Just Love Story Bible, written by two ordained ministers in the Presbyterian Church USA. This book is designed for children ages 4 to 10 and contains 52 Bible stories with beautiful illustrations. But it’s a sad symptom of our times. It’s described as “social justice oriented” with a “diverse, non-patriarchal theology,” and the authors claim Jesus was a feminist. This book is just another agent of the apostasy the Bible predicts will surge as Christ’s coming draws near. You may say, “Well, what in the world does 75 days to glory mean?” Well, in the sequence of end-times events, there’s one period of time that’s frequently overlooked by prophecy teachers, and that is the interval of time between the Second Coming of Christ to the earth and the official inauguration of the Millennial Kingdom. The Bible teaches, I believe, that the Millennium won’t commence on the day after the end of the Tribulation and the return of Jesus. Armageddon is only mentioned one time in the Bible—in Revelation chapter 16—yet this is one of the best-known words of end-time prophecy. People today hear “Armageddon” and think about some big catastrophe, but they don’t realize that Armageddon is a literal place in northern Israel. It’s fascinating to me that the very first single battle ever recorded in human history was at Megiddo, and the very final battle ever recorded in the Bible will be at the same place. The two great climactic events of the Great Tribulation are the Second Coming of Christ and Armageddon, and they’re very related to one another. This is the final note of history, the crescendo of the ages, the grand consummation that all of humanity has been waiting for. Like Johann Sebastian Bach who couldn’t leave that final note unplayed, all of history is waiting for Jesus to strike this final note when He returns.What I want you to see here are three key characteristics of Christ’s return: He’s coming visibly—every eye will see Him on that white horse; He’s coming vengefully—in justice He judges and wages war against those gathered at Armageddon; and He’s coming victoriously—as King of kings and Lord of lords to establish His Kingdom. But here’s the best part—we’re coming with Him. Verse 14 says the armies of Heaven, dressed in fine linen white and clean, are following Him on white horses.This is a strong argument for the pre-Tribulation Rapture because we have to have gone to Heaven, been married to Him, and been rewarded by Him before we can return with Him.
