On this episode I chatted with Major General Rita Aragon about her journey serving our country. Major General Aragon served as the first female General Officer, first female commander of the Oklahoma Air National Guard, and first woman in the United States to command a state’s Air National Guard. On this episode I chatted with Major General Mancino about his families journey through the Oklahoma National Guard. Major General Thomas H. Mancino was appointed as the Adjutant General for Oklahoma by Gov. Kevin J. Stitt in November 2021. In this function, he serves as the top military advisor to the Governor and commands the Oklahoma Army and Air National Guard. General Mancino commissioned in 1992 through the Reserve Officer Training Corps at Oklahoma State University. In previous assignments, he has served as the 90th Troop Command Commander, Oklahoma Army National Guard and Director of Information Technology/G6, Oklahoma Army National Guard. General Mancino has commanded at the company, battalion and brigade levels. Prior to receiving his commission, General Mancino served for six years as an Enlisted Soldier in the Oklahoma Army National Guard. Yvonne Kauger is a fourth-generation Oklahoman from Colony and grew up on what was recently deemed an Oklahoma Centennial Ranch. She graduated from Colony High School as class valedictorian and from Southwestern Oklahoma State University magna cum laude. She became a certified Medical Technologist to put herself through Oklahoma City University’s night law school and graduated first in her class. She worked for Rogers, Travis, and Jordon, before becoming the first woman judicial assistant to the Oklahoma Supreme Court for Justice Ralph B. Hodges. On March 14, 1984, she was appointed by Governor George Nigh as only the second woman named to Oklahoma’s highest court.
