This Feels Criminal: A True Crime Podcast (Formerly Killer Queens)

In the early morning hours of July 8th, 2013, 17-year-old Molly Miller and 22-year-old Colt Haynes seemingly disappeared into thin air. The two were involved in a high-speed police chase that ended with the county sheriff telling the officers to stop the chase. The driver of the vehicle fled, leaving Molly and Colt int the backwoods of Oklahoma in the middle of the night. In an area flooded with drug production, sales, and use, many locals are believed to know exactly what happened to Molly and Colt, but no one is talking. Furthermore, some people believe that Molly was never meant to be in that car that night in the first place. In February of 2023, 41 year old Becky Bliefnick hadn’t been heard from when it was time for her to pick up her children from school. Her ex-husband, Tim, was notified about the boys not being picked up, and he called Becky’s father, Bill, to check on her because he had sent text messages that went unanswered. Bill arrived at Becky’s house and tragically found her in a second floor bathroom, having been shot 14 times. It only took about two weeks for investigators to find their suspect and make an arrest. January 16th, 2009 was just like any other day for Linda Bonner. She got up, went to work, and likely thought anything more about it. Her husband, Franklin Bonner, was home, though, as he was retired from his job with the City of Chattanooga. When Linda returned home from work that evening, she walked into something from a nightmare. Her home was ransacked and Franklin was lying on the ground bound with duct tape and he was unresponsive. It took nine years for any arrests to be made in the case and when the Bonner family finally thought they had justice, the conviction was reversed and the case remains open. In April of 2016, UT Austin freshman Haruka Weiser left an evening dance practice to head back to her dorm. She called her roommate to let her know she was on the way, but she never made it. When she failed to show up the next morning and missed her early classes, a missing person’s report was filed, and authorities began the search for Haruka along the paths she was known to take between classes. The next day, her body was found on campus, and with help from surveillance footage, a suspect emerged and was arrested within days. From the 1980s until his eventual capture in 2007, a notorious serial rapist and murderer was active in the Buffalo, New York area. Police had linked this man to three murders and numerous rapes, often attacking women along bike paths, which led to him being called “The Bike Path Killer or Rapist”. His arrest came after DNA evidence connected him to the crimes, leading to a life sentence in prison without the possibility of parole. Thirteen-year-old Hailey Dunn went missing from her home two days after Christmas in Texas in 2010. She remained a missing person until her remains were found in 2013. Serving as a sheriff's deputy in Martin County, Florida, Gerard Schaefer led a double life, portraying himself as a dedicated officer while secretly engaging in gruesome acts. Schaefer was convicted of the first degree murders of two young women, Susan Place and Georgia Jessup. In the early morning of March 4th, 2022, 33-year-old Kouri Richins called 911 from her home in Kamas, Utah. She said that she’d come back into the bedroom she shared with her 39-year-old husband Eric to find him cold and unresponsive. First responders arrived, but were unable to revive Eric. From the late 1960s to the late 1980s, 12 girls and young women lost their lives at the hands of Fred and Rose West, including their own daughters. They would come under suspicion in August of 1992 after one of their daughters reported to a friend that her father had sexually abused her. The couple would be formally arrested in 1994 after a lengthy investigation. Fred West was charged with twelve counts of murder and Rose with nine, but it’s believed that they could be responsible for many more. Their horrific crimes paint them as two of the most prolific serial killers in the history of the UK. Sandy Maloney was expected in court in February of 1998 for her final hearing in her divorce from husband, John Maloney. On Monday, November 13th, 1961, a crewman aboard an oil tanker spotted something in the water. It was a man in a dinghy, waving frantically to get their attention. On December 17, 2011, the father of 20-month-old, Ayla Reynolds, called the police to report his daughter missing. Ayla was in the custody of her father and the night she disappeared, there were three adults in the house, but not one of them will say what happened to her. In 1996, the Summer Olympics were held in Atlanta, Georgia. On July 27th, thousands had gathered at Centennial Park for a late night concert. The FBI was told that a tip was called into 911 saying that a bomb would go off in the park within 30 minutes. A search ensued, and the bomb was located by security guard Richard Jewell. An evacuation was ordered, but three minutes into it, the bomb detonated. Two people died as a result of the bombing and 111 others were injured. On Friday, April 23, 2021, Zale Dudas and her younger brother, Saxon Nairne, were swimming in a backyard pool, unattended, with a scuba diving tank. Both kids were said to be proficient swimmers, however, at seven and nine years old, they were not proficient scuba diving experts. The scuba tank, typically filled with oxygen, was actually filled with helium. Both children passed out due to the inhalation of the helium and were found at the bottom of the pool. Four days after the incident, both children passed away. Their deaths were determined to be an accident, however, their grieving mother, Suzie Dudas, is seeking justice for her two young children. In late August of 2013, Ryan Hoy called the Aurora Colorado Police Department for help. In February of 2004, the body of a nude woman was discovered near an agricultural research station for Louisiana State University (LSU). The crime scene was processed and it was discovered that the woman had suffered a deep slash to her neck and there were ligature marks all around her neck. Her body had been positioned in a way so that trauma to her genitals would clearly be seen by anyone who found her. Investigators found signs that she had been dragged to the scene, tire tracks nearby, and 13 empty beer cans. The Houston Police Department received a 911 call in the early morning hours of July 29th, 2016, from a very calm 16-year-old. AJ Armstrong told the dispatcher that he’d heard gunshots in his parents’ room downstairs and that he was now hiding in the closet of his third floor bedroom. When officers arrived, they found AJ’s mother, Dawn, dead in her bed, from two gunshot wounds to the head.
