According to one broker, this project is the second highest margin gold development project in Africa, and at a production level of 160,000 ounces, the cashflow is likely to run into hundreds of millions of dollars. But KEFI isn't just a one-trick pony. It is also exceptionally well positioned in Saudi Arabia, and even though Ethiopia takes priority, there is plenty of value and millions of ounces on offer there too. KEFI's chairman Harry Anagnostaras-Adams walks us through the latest.

The next stage in permitting is for the Installation licence, and the process for acquiring this is already well underway. After that comes construction at Azteca, which is already funded, and then production, slated to begin by the end of June. The deal provides funding to bring the old Azteca plant back into production, and in fairly short order. The bulk of the money will be provided by the off-taker, with a smaller portion provided by Cadence, money that was already in place following a financing earlier this year. Cadence chief executive Kiran Morzaria joins Vox to give us more detail, and to talk about the longer-term objective of full-scale development of Amapa, which is now one step closer.
