Episode 234: All About Tracking Your Marketing
In Today's episode, I talk all about tracking your marketing and specifically marketing metrics. It is no surprise that tracking your marketing has become more difficult within the last few years. With the Apple IOS 14s privacy update, IOS 15 with even more changes is on the horizon. and even Google has added difficulties to tracking your digital marketing. With both Apple and Google coming against Facebook tracking pixels it has made marketers have to find different ways to track conversions and metrics. I share some ways you can create easy ways to see where your traffic is going. 1 Have Google analytics and 2 Google Tag Manager installed on every page of your website 3 Set up pages based on channels- Create landing pages for specific channels so you know where that click came from 4 Use UTM Codes- We went over what UTM codes are and do in the last episode in depth. Episode 232:How to Make Your Marketing Effective With The Maverick Marketing Method
Digital Marketing is getting more difficult with how much competition is out there and practices are busier than ever right now, so In today's episode, I share how to make your marketing effective for your veterinary marketing. I share with you the Maverick Marketing Method which I created and use for my clients. I'll go over ways you can make your digital marketing be more effective and efficient that will be beneficial for your veterinary practice. Now there are 3 ways to grow your business typically -Cut cost -Increase Prices -Increase Frequency From a digital marketing standpoint the best way we can grow your practice is by focusing on the the last 2 methods. Increasing prices and increasing frequency can work hand and hand together to ultimately help you weed out what you don't need to spend money or focus on. With both of these, we need to be increasing revenue and growth which should be the primary focus on digital marketing. With increasing revenue, we need to do it the most effective way possible with out having you and your staff burnt out. Ask these questions in your marketing. -What services can I offer that will generate the highest margin revenue? What is the best use of your time? -Which of these services do you love doing the most? How can you still enjoy your job and make it fun? -Who is the minimum viable audience for these services? Episode 230: Marketing With Video For Your Practice With Craig Spinks From Veteos
In Today's Episode, Craig Spinks from Veteos joins me on the podcast to take a deep dive into video marketing for your veterinary practice. We talk all about video and cover video marketing, production, creation, and more. Craig got his start in video production over 20 years ago and has been working exclusively with the vet industry for over the last 5 years creating and producing top notch high quality videos for veterinary practices. Videos for most veterinary practices have been a weak point as video production and creation can come off overwhelming and difficult for busy practices. But videos can be one of the most effective content an marketing mechanisms when done right. Videos have so much benefit to them as they have an additional element than text and that is emotion. Through video you can connect, create bonds, and convey what cant come through text. The great thing about how fast modern day technology moves is how we now have high quality cameras sometimes in our very hands. So while amazing cameras do exist not necessarily are the deal breaker to being able to produce and create high quality content for your practices marketing. Video is a tool you can use in your marketing to reach your practices digital marketing goals. Episode 226: Content Creation Strategies For Your Veterinary Practice
In today's episode, I go over content, content types, content creation, and content strategies for your veterinary practice. While we have gone over content in the past, the world and how content creation is done have changed. With creating content it is super important to have a content strategy that you exacts of who you are targeting and what you are putting out. With how much content is out on the internet it is important to move away from general info and content. With your content, you will want to have high quality and high value information you are providing your audience with. Let's talk about the content types that are working now and in the future and the 4 mediums you can use: Text-Blog Post Image-Facebook, Instagram, and social posts Audio- Podcasts and Video- Most bang for your buck option because it can be used for years over and over again An example of a content strategy I would use in a veterinary practice would be. Knowing who I want to target, who I want coming through the door and what they are interested in. Create 1 pillar piece of content a month that is super high quality. And create this content that is very specific and niche for your unique audience. Creating long form content (which is content that lasts over 10 minutes long) allows you to stand out by providing your audience super high quality information and content that is valuable. Episode 225: How Content and Email Marketing Can Help Your Practice Grow With Abby Herman
In today's episode, I am joined by special guest Abby Herman content and email marketing extraordinaire from The Content Experiment where we discuss content marketing but more specifically email marketing and how you can use email marketing in your veterinary practice to grow. Abby has been working with her business full time since 2016 where she has helped many people with their content marketing and email marketing. Her company helps their clients build out strategies for their content marketing around what they want to share and put out for their audiences. Veterinary practices can grow their content marketing by getting to know what their clients are actually wanting and needing by sending out surveys. Surveys can include what challenges are your clients facing at the moment, how they like to consume their content and information about pets (to know where you can reach them), and what seasonal issues could be a concern for them. Practices can figure out what clients want and need by surveys to generate content topics and posts. Using email to reach your clients on a regular basis to be sure to keep your practice at the top of their mind rather than getting lost in the inbox by only checking in once or twice a year. Treat your emails to clients as a way to add value to their lives and to keep your audience informed with helpful and useful information about pet care and how they can keep their pets healthy and safe. Episode 224: All About Youtube Ad Placements and Types.
In today's episode, It's all about Youtube ads! I share what you need to know about Youtube ads types, ad placements, the different placements you get to chose, and all the opportunities for your veterinary practice using youtube ads. Here the 6 types of placements are: -Skippable In-stream Ads This placement is the most recognizable and most common choice where you have the option to place at the beginning, middle, or end of the video has to be a minimum of 15 Seconds long or longer. These are a great choice for your first impression so potential clients can get an understanding of who you are by learning more through the ad. -Non-Skippable In-stream Ads has to be a maximum of 15 Seconds long or shorter. Non-skippable ads are great for retargeting people who have looked into your practice before. -Out Stream Ads This ad placement varies for the others as this ad is an autoplay. This Ad plays automatically and is mobile-only. While you would have great impressions and views its probably not a choice to use for your veterinary practice as there is no intent behind the views. -Conversion Ads Great for online sales and stores and you get to select the outcome you want however it comes with a need for a big budget -Ad sequences Creates a sequence of videos and delivers to your ad audience in a specific order. Perfect to consider to use for your employment ads -Shopping Ads Great placement to sell physical items in your practice that is underutilized by vet practices Reminder! Episode 223: Marketing & SEO Approaches,Strategies and More With Brandon Boyd
In Todays Episode I am joined by special guest Brandon Boyd from Vet and Pet SEO and The Practice Heist Podcast to talk about SEO and digital marketing for your veterinary practice. We share some strategies, approaches, and even misconceptions in digital marketing and SEO. Here are some key approaches and strategies to think about for your veterinary practice digital marketing. -Solve a Problem First Frame your sale in a way that provides your clients with solutions to their problems or concerns by focusing on the benefits of a service, product, etc rather than just the features of the product and service. -Narrow Down Tactics and Strategies Have a very clear strategy that you can use for your digital marketing that will actually work and help your practice grow. -Create Expert Knowledge Content Your content that your practice produces is very important because you want to create content that will serve your current clients but also allow you to reach new audiences. Create expert professional level content that is easy for your audience to understand and comprehend but also evergreen that can be relevant at any time. -Create Content First and Find Keywords Second While keywords in your headlines are great for increasing your SEO ranking be sure to create content for your audience first and then find your keywords. Episode 222: How Your Practice Can Prepare For Review Updates and Changes
In Todays Episode I share updates that are coming to reviews in the future, some different trends and things to think about in terms of reviews of your practice, helpful strategies you can build out for your reviews, and how you can prepare for the review changes coming in the future. Reviews for veterinary practices are very important and following 2020 reviews have begun to change due to fewer reviews being left and become even more important for all businesses. The same way most people look at reviews before purchasing anything online, people will look at reviews for your practice to gauge if they want to become a client. While reviews are very important and a lot of potential clients search for reviews sometimes they are met with very polarizing either 5 or 1 star reviews there are not very many middle of the road reviews. And a lot of people are becoming warier of reviews questioning the legitimacy of reviews in general. Some strategies you can use to get even more good reviews and have people looking - Turn your best and trusted reviews into a personal recommendation. Ask your clients that have left glowing reviews to say a few words or testimonials on video that you can share on your social media or even website. Giving potential clients a chance to see its not just words on a screen. -Develop a system to incentivize clients to leave reviews pretty consistently -Integrate your reviews into your website, content, or email newsletters so you own your reviews. Episode 221: How Google Ads New Privacy Policy Changes Will Affect Your Ads
In Todays Episode I share the very important and rapidly changing privacy policies that are going to affect how we run ads in the future. With Google following Apple's lead with IOS 14 Privacy changes we are going to see even more changes from these ad platforms and possibly others too. As we have talked about in previous episodes their is a privacy battle going on between Facebook, Apple, and Google. Apple made the announcement with IOS 14 that they would no longer allow pixel tracking, which Facebook gathers most of its data from. In 2019 Google announced that it would in the future no longer allow third party cookie tracking on Google chrome browsers. Now Cookie tracking (short pieces of javascript code) would only be allowed for first party cookies (owned by the website owner from an independent source) and not third party cookies (from advertisers like Facebook). Google has now announced on March 3rd that they are changing their rules and will no longer be using the data they have collected from first party cookies anymore. Google is now creating a new system that provides better options for them and their services and products. Which in turn will give google ad users even more options with their advertising. Which for many users who are using Facebook and Instagram exclusively it may be time to diversify your ad platforms for your digital marketing. Episode 220: 3 Marketing Misconceptions That Are Holding You Back.
In Todays Episode I share 3 common misconceptions that could be holding back your digital marketing and possibly be hurting the growth of your veterinary practice. I also share how you can combat these misconceptions to help your practice's marketing grow and perform better. The 3 marketing misconceptions and what you can do instead: 1) Chasing tactics and gimmicks with your marketing- Instead of relying on pitches from marketing company have very clear goals of what you are looking to achieve in your practice's marketing. Find marketing companies and professionals that you trust and can express your goals and trust their judgment to best execute your marketing plan. 2) Waiting for business to slow down to start marketing- While it is hard to imagine during a super busy streak ever slowing down ultimately it is inevitable and does happen eventually. Don't wait for business to start slowing down to start really focusing on your practice's marketing. Setting up your funnels and all your automation (email, messaging, ads, etc...), while you are your busiest, is one of the best things you can do in your marketing. Be proactive instead of reactive with your marketing. 3) Assuming that digital marketing will stay consistent- Find how you can have steady traffic streams to draw your best clients into your practice. Create through different channels additional ways to keep your clients coming through the door of your practice. Episode 218: How To Keep Your Facebook Ads Working Effectively
In today's episode, I am talking about Facebook ads! I share some of the big changes that have happened recently to Facebook as a result of the big tech wars that have been going on this last year and even before. I also share how these changes affect veterinary practices, what you can do to improve your targeting, how you can keep your ads from going crazy from all these changes, and some things you can think about for the growth of your marketing using Facebook and Instagram Ads. Because of the last few years of controversies with Facebook, they have been made to change their tracking and data collection thus changing how their ads ultimately work. With the newest wave of scrutiny coming from apple with their IOS 14 update of not allowing third-party pixels or cookies to be used on their users it has been impactful for the platform. In Todays Episode I share how you can use paid ads to attract new people to work in your veterinary practice. I also talk about what works and what doesn't with employment ads on each platform and 3 placements that will be beneficial for your veterinary practices employment. 3 of the best placements for employment ads 1) Facebook- Facebook is great for ads however when it comes to employment ads the rules are a bit different and have only limited targeting options, but is still a good option to get organic engagement. Your reach can expand from shares and tagging. 2) Google- Google Ads is another good option for employment ads as the people searching for a job actively need or are wanting a job. While on one hand, it may not be a lot of volume in searches their searches are filled with the intent of seeking employment at a veterinary practice. Keeping your employment ads to search ads through google is the best option as you will reach a more interested audience looking for a job in a veterinary practice. 3) Linkedin- Linkedin is a great place to have employment ads running. Linkedin platform allows for the most targeting when it comes to employment ads allowing targeting through company, length of employment, degree, field of study, current job title, and region. There are also two placements you can run your ads, Through their content feed (almost like a Facebook post outlining the job description, benefits, and more) and through their In Mail messaging ads (custom detailed messaging about job opportunities). With all your options of targeting be sure to tailor your employment ads to target the perfect employee for your practice. Reminder! Episode 212: The Best Ways To Measure Your Practices Conversion Analytics
In today's episode, I share some of the best ways you can use to measure your veterinary practices conversion analytics. Now I know analytics can be tough and is, unfortunately, something that many practices have trouble with. What we are looking for in our analytics is conversions of where did the clients come from. Analytics help us be able to track and measure meaningful data to help us see what's working and what's not. Some of the best ways to make your measuring analytic easier are: -Create an offer that is only for a specific platform- your platforms can be each social platform, emails, blog post, etc. Think like a promo code. Clients only know about a specific offer because they found you through the specific post or ad. -Create Individual landing pages for a specific platform- Using the same kind of idea as the last way to measure conversions, you can create landing pages that can only be accessed through your post, emails, and platforms. -Use UTM Codes- Instead of creating individual landing pages when you don't have a web team you can create individual links! UTM codes attach a little code at the end of your link you are using helping you figure out where your audience is coming from through a link. -Pixel Audiences- You can use either Facebook or Google pixels (such as Google Analytics) on your website.
