S4 Ep 3Astros Pitching Concerns/Rockets Win 6 In A Row
Well, the series in Sacramento didn’t go the way we wanted but let’s try to look at the positives that this team is giving us: the offense. The Astros are leading MLB in a handful of offensive stats and even without Issac Paredes the team seemed patient and were able to put up enough runs to win a series. But what happened with the pitching and what can we expect going forward? We look at the last couple of Rockets games this week and recap the wins! Finally we preview the pitching matchups for the series against the Rockies that starts tonight. Get ready for a bullpen game, H-Town! I’m expecting a lot of offense in these games and a series win for the Stros, lemme know what you think.Vamos vamos Houston Get full access to Space Cadet Sports at spacecadetsports.substack.com/subscribe

S3 Ep 3Stros Sweep Sox
A three game sweep and five game streak would make any baseball fan happy! But the pessimism from the first two games have melted away as March becomes April and this fool is happy to shove it in the naysayers faces. While it’s just one week of baseball we talk about all the things to be happy about with the 2026 Astros. Is this newfound patience going to be a regular occurrence? Is Lance McCullers Jr back to dominance? Will Altuve lead the Astros in walks? We talk about it all on this episode. Plus, Rockets beat the Knicks (we’re going full throwback)! And we preview the pitchers for the Astros/A’s matchup this weekend.Vamos vamos Houston Get full access to Space Cadet Sports at spacecadetsports.substack.com/subscribe

S2 Ep 3Astros Recap/Preview: Split Series To Start Season
The Astros were slow out the gate (surprise, surprise) but were able to bounce back quickly and even the series against the Angels 2-2. Are the doom-and-gloomer right or is the Golden Era still going? We talk about the good and the bad from the series and look to the pitching matchups and keys to winning the series agains the Boston Red Sox. Also, the Comets are coming back to Houston, baby! We talk some Houston basketball: Rockets, Comets and Cougars. As well as throw around some Texans talk for you Hey, Arnolds! (football heads) Let us know how you’re feeling H-Town. What level or optimism or fear-and-paranoia are you at right now?Vamos vamos Houston Get full access to Space Cadet Sports at spacecadetsports.substack.com/subscribe

S1 Ep 3Astros Opening Day Roster
We’re back (a dinosaur story)! After more than a month off we’re back and happy to announce an additional podcast producer that was born in February! On this episode we talk about the new Texans running game and offensive line, the Rockets team chemistry and ups-and-downs, and some personal updates. We also check the opening day roster and put a number on how many wins Space Cadet projects the Astros will get this season. It’s baseball time, y’all!Vamos vamos Astros! Astros Spring Training Special
Football season is officially over and that means spring training is right around the corner. Since pitchers and catchers are reporting this week we decided to do an early roster projection. We guess the 6-man-rotation, bullpen and opening day lineup. Who knows what news could disrupt our way too early look into the crystal ball, but we can’t help getting exciting about this upcoming season. With Issac Paredes remaining an Astros are you excited about the options the team is starting the year with or are you a logjam doom and gloomer? We also check in with the end of football season and the Rockets quiet week.Vamos vamos HoustonAbolish ICE Get full access to Space Cadet Sports at spacecadetsports.substack.com/subscribe

Rockets Remain Intact After Trade Deadline
The Rockets front office said they didn’t want to blow up the young core, and they stayed true to their word as the NBA trade deadline comes and goes with no Rockets roster movement. Normally this would make this podcast happy, but after the demoralizing loss to the Celtics…we’re asking you: what are you thinking about the Rockets going into the All Star Break. We also take a peak at the Astros logjam in the infield and past-Astros pitcher movement. Finally, we look at the memes that Texans have provided for us before the big game this weekend.Vamos vamos Houston Get full access to Space Cadet Sports at spacecadetsports.substack.com/subscribe

Rockets Rebound/Texans Retrospective/Astros Winter News
They world has been wild and Paul’s own little world has been busy, but it’s time for a H-Town check-in after a wild week and a half. We start off with a note on the heartbreak that this country has been facing (for quite some time now) at the hands of the hateful and cowardly, but then we give a quick salve for the sadness: talking about the emotional roller coaster that is being a Houston fan. These Houston teams have taken fans for a tumultuous ride in 2025 and we’re hoping for less bumps in 2026. CJ Stroud will be the main character in memes until he beats the big game allegations. But is our emotional response to the game the best one? What is CJs future in Houston? We break down our opinion and then talk about the Houston Astros roster going into spring training. And finally follow up with a brief check in with the state of Rockets basketball in January. Are the growing pains for this team over or are they in desperate need of some new life via trade? Let us know what you think.Vamos vamos Houston YAbolish ICE Get full access to Space Cadet Sports at spacecadetsports.substack.com/subscribe

Texans Winning Streak/Rockets Have A Rough Winter/Astros Sign Imai
The holiday break was fantastic for your boy, but it’s time to check back in with your Houston sports teams. The Texans have won 10 games in a row and are set to play the New England Patriots this weekend. After a 30-6 win and a bumbling offensive outing the Texans still bring hope to Paul’s heart. Meanwhile, the Rockets have been going through some big growing pains. Is this just a bump in the road or indicative of something bigger? We think the Rockets will get right after a win against the Bulls…but their next task is the OKC Thunder. I bet the competitive team we’ve been used to shows back up in this one. And the biggest news: Astros sign Japanese pitcher Tatsuya Imai in a stunning move to acquire more pitching. The Astros will most likely start the season with a 6 man rotation and are hoping the days of leaning on rookie contributions are over. (I mean, we’ll still take them as a luxury but hoping they’re not a necessity.)Vamos vamos Houston Get full access to Space Cadet Sports at spacecadetsports.substack.com/subscribe

Paul’s Picks NFL Week 16
Last week Paul and Carla were able to pick 13 winners and now y’all have to hear about it all week. Maybe the season hasn’t gone too well, so we’ll take a strong week to power us through the end of the year! We remind you that Paul’s Picks is a comedy performance as we look ahead at the NFL games this upcoming week and try to deduce who will win. DEDUCE! We take a look at the Raiders-Texans game and even talk a bit about the Rockets as trading rumors start heating up. What are your expectations for the Texans and Rockets this season? Texans Take Care Of Business/Rockets Get Ref-ed
Your Houston Texans dominate a game they should have dominated beating the Cards 40-20. We look at a RB stepping up in a big spot. Talk about injuries and our hopes going forward for the rest of the year. Then we talk about the refs…I’m sorry about the Rockets-Nuggets game. I forgot the refs weren’t the star of that show. The Rockets lose in overtime to a great team…but with a little help from a bad call. Then we ask Santa for some help for the Astros this winter. Paul’s Picks - NFL Week 15
The Texans are on a roll, but the picks are…not. This season has had more ups and downs than a broken elevator, but that hasn’t broken our spirits as we try to pick ourselves back up and picks some winners. After the comedy routine of trying to pick winners, we discuss the Rockets scrapping by the Clippers and some Astros Winter Hot Stove Rumors.Vamos vamos Astros Get full access to Space Cadet Sports at spacecadetsports.substack.com/subscribe

Texans Look To Keep Momentum Going
After a week off to eat food and sleep, Paul and Carla are back to talk Texans as they step into the national narrative as KC Destroyers. Let’s not over-react yet, but: what a great win for this team and it keeps the season hopes alive for this football team that started the season so poorly. We also look at the Rockets and talk about which lineup you might prefer. And finally talk about Jake Meyers’ future with the Astros. I hope you all ate well and are very grateful. Please remember I’m not the slender man.Vamos vamos Astros Get full access to Space Cadet Sports at spacecadetsports.substack.com/subscribe

Paul’s Picks - Thanksgiving Picks
Happy Thanksgiving; let’s talk turkey, y’all. On this week of Paul’s Picks we try to keep our success on a roll and pick Thanksgiving winners. Paul goes ham on pigskin pickem but get’s squashed in his fantasy football matchup. We then check in with the Rockets as they beat the stuffing out of the Suns and look to get saucy against the Warriors. We’ll take some time for the holidays, but it’s all gravy, baby—we’ll be back next week.Vamos vamos Houston Get full access to Space Cadet Sports at spacecadetsports.substack.com/subscribe

Houston Texans Keep Hope Alive
These Houston teams have a lot of fight in them and put it on display this week. The Texans came away with a big win against the Bills at home to keep hopes alive in H-Town. But the Rockets were not able to outlast the Denver Nuggets in NBA Cup Play. Plus, we knew we were Dubi stans in this house; but it seems like all of H-Town poured one out when Mauricio Dubón was traded. So we check-in with what stage of grief our listeners may be in. Don’t Dubi Like That/Paul’s Picks NFL Week 12
Today’s Paul’s Picks episode is hijacked by the sad news that fan favorite utility gold glove winner Mauricio Dubón is headed to Atlanta in return for SS Nick Allen. But first Paul talks Texans and looks into a foggy crystal ball to see which NFL teams are gonna be winners this week. Then we take a peak at the 10-3 Rockets and their game in Cleveland. And finally get around to looking at the Dubón trade and what we think the Astros ownership and front office are attempting to accomplish. How emotional are you today H-Town? The sky is crying over here in LA because Carla and I are so sad. The sun’ll come out tomorrow…well, maybe not over here. I can’t predict the weather! I can barely predict winners. You’ll always have a home in Houston, Dubi. Vamos vamos Houston. Get full access to Space Cadet Sports at spacecadetsports.substack.com/subscribe

Texans Secure Win/Rockets Keep Rolling
The Texans win (even though it left a bad taste in the mouths of Texans fans and Titans defensive-linemen) and the Rockets continue to stay hot with a come-from-behind OT win against the Magic. We talk about the rise to mediocrity for the Texans this season, learn that CJ Stroud is out for another week, and discuss the game. Then we look at the Rockets great win against the Magic in a never-give-up effort that is making many fans excited about the potential for this team. KD, Al-P and…Reed Sheppard? That’s right, Reed has gone from whipping boy to social media darling as Rockets fans are excited about the young PG. We also talk Jose Altuve’s foot and say bye to Ramon Urías in The Astros Winter Hot Stove. Also, thank so much for supporting the podcast. It was a great week for us here. Paul’s Picks NFL Week 11
Welcome back to the only NFL picks show with the guts to admit it’s a comedy show! Come and laugh with me as I try to win my friends Sleeper league and I attempt to make weekly picks and hold myself accountable to them. How are you doing this season, fam? I also talk about the Rockets great start to the season and last but not least: Astros Winter Hot Stove begins and we start throwing out names to dream about, look at some comments from GM Dana Brown and start speculating about next season.Vamos vamos Houston Get full access to Space Cadet Sports at spacecadetsports.substack.com/subscribe

Houston Celebrates Two Come-From-Behind Dubs
Not gonna lie, they had us in the beginning…the Texans and the Rockets both put on fourth quarter shows for fans of the H on Sunday. The Houston Texans have declared that their season is not dead yet with a 36-29 win. They are now 4-5 and have hope to turn this season around. How hopeful are you feeling H-Town? And then to keep the party going the Rockets had their own fourth quarter come back to beat the Bucks 122-115. Paul’s Picks NFL Week 10 - ‘25
It’s Thursday or Wednesday, so you know what that means: it’s time for Paul’s Picks. This week Paul does know what day of the week it is (maybe) and we go through the NFL lines and games to try to pick the winners. The Texans season is on the line this week as they matchup against divisional rival Jacksonville. Is it delusional to have hope still? Or is the season over now that we officially have the panic meter out? We also look back at a lack-luster season to see how we stack up compared to your season so far. But that’s not all, folks! We also get to talk about more Rockets winning and the Astros are officially getting ready for the next season of baseball that is just months away. Texans Lose, Rockets Streak
The Houston Texans are now 3-5 after struggling to score in a 18-15 loss to the Broncos. CJ Stroud will be out for at least one week and the Texans are in a bind, because they’re way behind but Nick Caserio wasn’t willing to make a deal. Luckily, we can also talk about the Houston Rockets. The Rox are on a 4 game winning streak-after a slightly slow start-and it looks like there is still some hope in Houston. Also, the Houston Astros are looking to hire Victor Rodriguez to be a hitting coach in Houston. The Astros winter starts now and we’re here for all the news and rumors. The Scapegoat 2025
Baseball season is officially over, free agency is about to begin and it’s time to get into your emotions as we look back at the Houston Astros 2025 season. We try to be even-keeled and laid-back over here, but this episode we go hunting for a scapegoat for what happened last year! We take a look at the usual suspects and rank them for who this pod blames the most. We’re putting the season to rest and ready to start thinking about the promise of next year. How would you rank the ‘scapegoats’? Who do you blame? Listen to the end for the real answer, H-town…Vamos vamos Astros Get full access to Space Cadet Sports at spacecadetsports.substack.com/subscribe

Paul’s Picks NFL Week 9!
I finally had a good week and you think that’d boost my confidence, but I’m too timid to be getting too spicy…we need wins not takes! We take a look at the matchups and do our best. We also don’t know what day of the week it is?? That’s right. The whole time I was recording I thought it was Thursday, but producer Carla never corrected me…so it’s kinda her fault too right? Also, the Texans are coming off of a win, but now they matchup against the Broncos and have a big prove it game. Nico and Christian are back…are the Texans back? We’ll see.Vamos vamos Houston Get full access to Space Cadet Sports at spacecadetsports.substack.com/subscribe
