Having believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God’s possession- to the praise of his glory.” Ephesians 1:15–23 “For this reason, ever since I heard about your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for all the saints, I have not stopped giving thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers. I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better. I pray also that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints, and his incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is like the working of his mighty strength, which he exerted in Christ when he raised him from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realms, far above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every title that can be given, not only in the present age but also in the one to come. And God placed all things under his feet and appointed him to be head over everything for the church, which is his body, the fullness of him who fills everything in every way.” Ephesians 2:8–10 “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith – and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God – not by works, so that no one can boast. For we are God‘s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.“ Ephesians 2:13 “But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far away have been brought near through the blood of Christ.“ Philippians 1:6 “being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.”

Top Ten from 2020: #9 Visionary Parenting and Grand-Parenting with Dr. Rob Rienow Deuteronomy 6:5-7 (NIV) “Love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.” Dr. Rob Rienow married Amy in 1994 and they have been blessed with 7 children. His most important ministry is loving his wife and leading his children to know God and love Him. Rob’s mom came to Christ shortly after he was born so he was blessed to be introduced to Jesus at an early age. His parents divorced when he was in high school and God used that painful time in his life to give him a heart for young people and families going through dark times. He attended Wheaton College, then completed an MA in theology at Wheaton College Graduate School, an MDiv from Trinity International Divinity School, and a Doctor of Ministry in Christian Leadership from Gordon Conwell Theological Seminary. Rob’s life dramatically changed in 2004. God brought him to a place of deep repentance over the fact that he was disciplining other people’s children, but not his own. He was a spiritual leader at church, but passive with his family. Through that time of repentance, God turned his heart to the ministry of his children and his wife. God then led He and Amy to launch Visionary Family Ministries, a ministry designed to inspire parents and grandparents to disciple their children, to help couples create mission driven-marriages, and equip churches to build Bible-driven ministries. Their mission is to build the church through a global reformation of family discipleship. He shares the biblical message of family discipleship at national and international conferences for parents, couples, and church leaders. He partners and consults with numerous churches, encouraging them to accelerate evangelism and discipleship through families. At The Savvy Sauce, we will only recommend resources we believe in! 145. Intentional Questions to Ask Our Kids with Susan Seay Colossians 3:12 (NIV) "Therefore, as God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience." About Susan Seay: I’m a real mom sharing what I have learned on this mom journey. My hope is that as I share my life, I encourage other moms. It’s as simple as that. I’ve been married to my college-sweetheart Ron over 25 years. We are parents to 7 of our favorite people on the planet. On any given day you will hear us talking about food (we love to eat), our daily wins (a quick way to celebrate the day) and different aspects of business. In the same way that sports families or political families talk about the latest games and campaigns, our family loves to talk about strategies, leadership, and life lessons learned through business. I whole-heartedly believe that moms manage the most foundational organization in our society, the family. My goal is to support moms around the globe with encouragement and practical tools. I share simple tools that create lasting impact. Let’s be more intentional with our families. And let’s do it together! At The Savvy Sauce, we will only recommend resources we believe in! 141 Rescued from Poverty with Norah Birungi
141. Rescued from Poverty with Norah Birungi Jeremiah 29:11 (NIV) “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Norah B. Birungi is resiliency embodied. The youngest of six children born to a Ugandan mother and Rwandan father, she was raised in Kampala, Uganda, at the height of civil conflict in the region. Her father served in the Rwandan army until he and his entire family were killed in the 1994 genocide. Her mother’s job as a hairdresser was insufficient to provide for the family so Norah’s brothers went to work at a young age to help out financially. She and her siblings lost the opportunity to attend school due to lack of resources. Overtaken by a strong sense of hopelessness and despair, she felt her life had no value or purpose. When one of her mother’s clients learned that Norah wasn’t in school, she connected her to a local church for assistance. Norah was sponsored into Compassion’s child development program through that church when she was ten years old. She was able to return to school and receive a quality education. She also learned values and life skills, and was introduced to the transformative love of Jesus. Through the leadership development program, Norah had the opportunity to attend Uganda Christian University and obtain her bachelor’s degree in social work and social administration. Norah lives in Germantown, Maryland, with her husband Godfrey and their three beautiful children. By God’s grace, the hardships she endured made her strong and resilient rather than bitter and despondent. A powerful advocate for children and the marginalized, Norah enjoys speaking on poverty, vulnerability, health and wellness, and her personal journey from desperation to hope. That is her real life. Most importantly, she is God's woman. She shares her passion of engaging women in a transforming relationship with God, because from there, everything else makes sense. She has authored five books, written more than 1500 newspaper columns, hosted talk radio for 14 years and traveled the country engaging women with the Word of God and each other. Kim thinks humor restores, the Word of God redeems and friendship revives. Those are the things worth sharing - so that is what she shares. 134. Fashion Meets Faith with Shari Braendel “The Lord directs the steps of the godly. He delights in every detail of their lives.” -Psalms 37:23 NLT Shari Braendel is president of Fashion Meets Faith and author of Help Me, Jesus! I have Nothing To Wear (Zondervan). As president of FMF, Shari has helped thousands of women reveal who they are in Christ and shine outwardly with confidence through her conferences, online instructional videos, podcasts, consultant training, and more. As a Christian speaker, she has presented over 500 events in 18 states, including Hearts at Home, She Laughs, and She Speaks and has shared the stage with Nicole C. Mullin, Lysa TerKeurst, and Karen Kingsbury. She has appeared on Focus on the Family, The Total Christian Television Network (TCT), K-Love, Crown Financial Network, Moody Global Ministries, and more. Shari saw firsthand that women didn’t recognize the beauty that God gave them and lacked the knowledge of how to dress themselves with confidence. She knows women often judge themselves based on the world’s standards and are forever coming up short. As a fabulously fun fashionista, Shari takes women on a trip through the fashion DO’s, explaining why it’s important to dress the body they have, not the one so prominently displayed on the cover of the latest fashion magazine. With electric and exciting stage presence, Shari delivers a message that women no longer need to conform to the pattern of the world, but can be confident and self-assured no matter their size or shape. 133. Following God’s Leading with Susan Zobrist, Cassie Meiss, and Lisa Waibel Ephesians 3:20+21 (ESV) “Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all that we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen." Susan Zobrist serves as a Director at the South Side Christian Academy. She takes care of the daily routine needs at the school, teaches chapel, and oversees the student and family files. Her husband, Chad, serves as the board president as well as recess aide and office supply guy. Chad and Susan have four adult daughters and three wonderful son-in-laws. They are settling into life with an empty nest. Cassie Meiss wears many hats at the South Side Christian Academy, but her primary responsibilities are board secretary, business director, and part-time RTI teacher for students who are struggling to keep up with their grade level. Cassie is married to Curt and they have four grown children and one great daughter-in-law! They recently welcomed the arrival of their first granddaughter. Their family seems to be particularly interested in education as, Lord-willing, five of the six of them will have Bachelor's degrees in education within a couple of years. Cassie's son, Parker, teaches 4th grade at SSCA. Cassie loves to vacation pretty much anywhere and spends her spare time watching movies, reading, and being with friends and family. Lisa Waibel has been married to Matt for 27 years and they are both privileged to be on the board of South Side Christian Academy! Lisa's current role at SSCA is to manage the school bus, and be a substitute bus driver. She and her family help with the cleaning, the garden, and the yard maintenance. Because she is still homeschooling 3 of their 9 children, Lisa loves to have the students and their families to her house or on outings outside of school hours when the parents need help or just as an opportunity to build a relationship with them, teach them work skills, and give them some extra tutoring. Lisa also helps with Girls Club for SSCA 2nd to 4th graders. She also loves to pray for the SSCA families and loves seeing God’s spirit working in their hearts! Gospel Scripture: (all NIV) Romans 3:23 “for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,” Romans 3:24 “and are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.” Romans 3:25 (a) “God presented him as a sacrifice of atonement, through faith in his blood.” Hebrews 9:22 (b) “without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness.” Romans 5:8 “But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 5:11 “Not only is this so, but we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received reconciliation.” John 3:16 “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” Romans 10:9 “That if you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.” Luke 15:10 says “In the same way, I tell you, there is rejoicing in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents.” Romans 8:1 “Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus” Ephesians 1:13–14 “And you also were included in Christ when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation. For we are God‘s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works,
