Ep 3535. Dr. David Villarreal: How To Protect Your Teeth From Dumb Dentistry

What type of dentistry does your dentist practice? If your answer is "um... tooth dentistry?", you need to listen to this episode. The old 'drill 'em and and bill 'em' paradigm is dead. Since so much of your general physical health starts in your mouth, it's crucial that you find a dentist who uses a holistic approach, and that you educate yourself on the latest developments in the industry. Outdated dentistry can be catastrophic to your health, and a bad dentist isn't going to warn you of that fact. He or she is just going to start drilling... and filling. But choosing a dentist is not like finding a great auto mechanic. Unlike your vehicle of choice, your teeth are alive. They're not bones or pieces of rock stuck in your jaw. They're an organ and should be treated as such. A qualified biological dentist understands this, and treats your teeth and mouth as a part of your body’s whole energetic system. While many of the dangers of outdated dental practices have become more widely known, the vast majority of dentists in the world are still using archaic, and in many cases dangerous methods of treatment. From mercury-laden fillings to infection-causing root canals, fluoride poisoning, and a host of other harmful procedures, we are just now beginning to emerge from the Flintstonian era of 'mouth medicine,' and enter into a new era of oral care. Our guest Dr. David Villarreal is one of the world's leading biological dentists and has a vast body of knowledge to share on the subject. Do your mouth a favor, and take some time to dive into this fact-rich interview with a real innovator. If you know someone with teeth they care about, please share this show with them. The topics we discuss: What is biological or holistic dentistry Why is it superior to our current outdated health industry How health issues in your mouth affect the overall health of the body Treating your teeth like they are a living organ Why you should avoid putting toxic fluoride in your mouth, let alone drink it The dangers of mercury metal fillings and safe removal procedure Composite fillings and the benefits of using biocompatible material Why you would want to avoid root canals, and cavitation issue How to prevent cavities in the first place How getting teeth pulled can lead to systemic full body infections and autoimmune issues It goes beyond the mouth: meridians, chi, diet, prayer The risks involved in using metal transplants and the options How to find truly organic toothpaste and the benefits of using essential oils orally Germ killing mouthwash is bad for your mouth Floss, floss, floss, no way around it This show is brought to you by SAMINA BED SYSTEMS. Ep 3333. James Swanwick: How To Quit Booze & Become A Boss

Have you ever thought about what it takes to live a high-performance life? When you create that vision in your mind, does it include a lot of potentially negative habits like alcohol consumption? Probably not. But if you're not a legitimate, card-carrying alcoholic, why would you ever consider quitting? And even if you did want to upgrade your productivity and quality of life by giving up booze, how could you? There's that pesky social pressure, and general boredom to contend with after all, right? Well, our guest James has created not only a fool-proof system by which the 'social drinker' can put the plug in the jug, but he's also assembled a sizeable online tribe of like-minded 'quitters' that offer moral support and inspiration to each other through his 30Day No Alcohol Challenge. When it comes to being a boss, and performing at your highest potential, three things top the list of essential lifestyle habits:1. Diet2. Sleep3. ExerciseDid you know that one of the worst side-effects of regular alcohol consumption is a profound disruption of your healthy sleep cycle? But perhaps you don't drink. Think you're off the hook? Nope. There happens to be another nasty little habit that’s destroying the sleep of humans from all walks of life on a daily basis. It's a poison of sorts, and it's everywhere. It's almost impossible to avoid, and it's getting worse by the day. It's in your home, on the streets, in every store, restaurant, airplane, hospital, and school. This insidious addiction runs rampant, and I promise that if you're reading this, you're a strung-out user. Thankfully, this episode contains the cure. The drug is artificial white (blue) light. We are strung out on using it when the sun goes down. The treatment is preventing this sleep-damaging blue light from making contact with your eyes after dark. One way to avoid this toxic, unnatural light is to go to bed at dusk, and wake up at dawn (see hunter-gatherer humans). My guess is that this doesn't sound too feasible. Ready for option two? I thought so. Thankfully, there is another, more simple way to avoid blue light at night: Wearing blue-blocking orange glasses. The issue with this preventative measure is that 99% of the blue-blocking glasses on the market are positively atrocious, and can't be worn in social situations without inviting a torrent of giggles and annoying questions. Not only does our guest Mr. Swanwick offer some practical insights on the recent phenomenon of blocking blue light, but he also brings what are likely the first decent looking, wearable orange glasses to market. In addition to covering the two very real issues of habitual alcohol consumption and blue light exposure, James also presents many other valuable insights into not only breaking unfavorable habits but also creating and maintaining positive ones.  If you want to kick ass, be a boss, and dominate this thing called life, this enlightening episode is for you. It's also for anyone who shares your passion for building the ultimate lifestyle. So share this show with someone you love. Ep 3232. Dr. Kirk Parsley: How To Sleep Like The Dead

How do you think about sleep? Your favorite part of life? A necessary evil? A waste of precious time? Is it easy for you, or do you find it difficult? Or perhaps you haven't thought about it at all? Maybe it’s just an activity that’s part of your everyday routine, and it holds little value or meaning to you. If the latter be the case, keep on reading. As a matter of fact, keep on reading no matter what the case is. Your body, and more importantly your brain, need high-quality sleep to function optimally. If you follow medical, or health & wellness trends at all, you might have noticed that the topic of sleep is getting a lot of attention over the past couple years. This is not only by design but also by necessity. We’re quickly learning that as our species is faced with more and more environmental, and social stressors that our need for sleep is becoming increasingly paramount. The quality and quantity of your sleep is perhaps the single most important element of a healthy lifestyle practice, along with diet and exercise.  In this episode, we look very specifically and thoroughly at every aspect of sleep, and most importantly - how to improve yours! The goal of this show is to change not only the way we sleep but the way we look at sleep. It should be considered a necessary daily practice, if not an art form, or even a beloved hobby. This is a fact-filled interview with one of the world’s leading experts on the subject. I strongly recommend that you give this one a listen, or perhaps a couple listens, and incrementally apply each tool to your personal sleep practice. Since sleep is something we all need to improve, please take a second to forward this episode to someone you know. Think of how much different the world could be if we weren’t all so terribly sleep deprived. Thanks for counting sheep with me.LukeHELP SUPPORT THIS SHOW!Starting and growing a podcast requires a ton of time, energy, and money. Ep 3131. John Wineland: What Men Crave & What Women Want

We all want to be loved. I mean at the end of the day, isn’t that the hidden motive behind so many of our decisions and behaviors? When a man posts an image of his Porsche, or Rolex on Facebook, or a woman posts sexy shots of her Chanel handbag and cleavage on Instagram isn’t a desire for love the underlying motive at play? Is not proving one’s social status to the world, after all, just a thinly veiled cry for love? Throughout my life, I have observed that a vast majority of time and energy spent has been in the pursuit of love and approval from others, whether that be directly or indirectly. Perhaps there is even a small part of me sitting here writing this intro that has a desire to appear evolved, or intelligent in order to be well-liked, popular, and ultimately loved. So what's wrong with wanting love in our lives? There is of course nothing wrong with wanting it. But what do we do with it once we’ve found it? The problem is that once we figure out how to flirt, date, and make love we often find ourselves in relationship with another human with virtually no clue how to navigate that terrain successfully. Do to negative social programming, and misinformation, most of us spend years of our lives endlessly breaking hearts and having ours broken in return, as a result of a fundamental lack of understanding of what makes the opposite sex tick. Despite the politically correct narrative in our current culture, the fact remains that on a biological level, males and females are not the same. We ultimately crave the same love, but we go about getting and giving it in such different ways. In this episode, we take a truly intimate look at what men and women want from each other, and how we can learn to give and receive that which is so deeply desired to one another in an honest, and sustainable way. Consider this interview a lesson in myth-busting, and paradigm shifting. Remember to keep an open mind, but more importantly- an open heart. Please share this with someone you know who desires more fulfilling, loving relationships in their life. Maybe even that someone with whom you’re currently in love. Blessings to you and yours,LukeHELP SUPPORT THIS SHOW!Starting and growing a podcast requires a ton of time, energy, and money. Ep 3030. Dr. Andrew Hill: Owning Your Brain With Neurofeedback And Nootropics

Is your brain broken? How would you know if it was, considering you would have to use your broken brain to assess your broken brain? And what do I mean when I say ‘broken’ anyway? By broken, I mean that there may very well be parts of your brain that are inactive or contrarily overactive, that are impairing your ability to handle stress, be creative, sleep, solve problems, and function at your peak potential. Thanks to a technology called ‘brain mapping’, we can quite literally see how well our brain is functioning. Once issues are identified, neurofeedback training can then be applied to correct it. Neurofeedback gives you the the ability to ‘read’ your brainwaves, in order to accurately assess your brain's health. This amazing treatment is used to treat everything from PTSD to addictions, and has an impressively high success rate.In this special ‘field recording’ episode, I travel to Peak Brain Institute and interview one of the world's leading experts in Neuroscience, Dr. Andrew Hill. We started the interview by doing a scan of my brain, and during the show our guest shares some pretty disappointing results with me. Thankfully, I also learned that I can probably fix it using a combination of neurofeedback, smart drugs, and proper supplementation. If you’re interested in hacking your brain to unlock its full badass potential, this show is jam-packed with brain centered, cutting edge tips that will no doubt upgrade not only your brain, but your life. Please share this episode with a friend. Ep 2929. The JingSlingers: Hacking Health Food

Have you ever tried to make a well-intentioned, commitment to start ‘eating healthy’, yet failed to sustain your new habits because you missed your ‘comfort foods’? Yeah, I get it. I have too. After all, who wants to give up pizza, mac n’ cheese, brownies, ice cream, burritos, and all of the other feel-good foods that remind us of happy times, and give us that primordial pleasure that only ‘bad food’ can give us?What if there was a way to eat a super clean, totally organic, affordable, sustainable diet that tastes just like the foods we thought we had to give up in order to be healthy? Thanks to modern food pioneers like The Jingslingers, it’s becoming increasingly possible to do just that! In this episode, we explore the ‘new food’ paradigm and lay out a very practical blueprint for taking control of your eating habits, without giving up the pleasure of eating. If you want to be healthy, but don't want to give up the 'pleasures of the palette,' this episode is for you, and for everyone you know who still believes health food has to taste like cardboard. Ep 2828. Timo Ahopelto: Mastering Jet Lag

Do you love to travel? Of course you do. Who doesn’t right? But can you honestly say you love to fly? Me either. In fact, I can safely say that there is nothing in life that makes me feel worse than air travel. What's the deal? Why does it seem to throw us off so badly? Some call it jet lag. The thing is, it’s more than jet lag. Jet lag just means you cheated some time zones. What I’m talking about is the cumulative effect of taking your fragile little human body and hurling it through space at 550 miles per hour at 35k feet above sea level. To call flying ‘unnatural’ is a gross understatement. It’s likely the single most alien activity of modern human life, and why it’s harmful to us, on so many levels. In this hyper-focused episode, we discuss in detail everything about flying that could be damaging to our bodies and explore the various biohacks (natural and otherwise) that might be applied to reduce the adverse effects of air travel. My hope is that as we bring more awareness to health issues like this, more innovation will be encouraged, and solutions brought forth that will allow us to continue using such powerful technology, without compromising our own well-being as much in the process.  Be sure to share this show with anyone you know who loves to travel but hates to fly. To your trips, in the air or otherwise. HELP SUPPORT THIS SHOW!Starting and growing a podcast requires a ton of time, energy, and money. Ep 2727. Ryan Munsey: Becoming A Civilized Beast

What does it mean to be a ‘real man’ in 2016? It used to mean you were big, strong, and gave zero fucks about anyone’s feelings, let alone your own. Today’s man is quite a bit different. Sure he goes to the gym and lifts heavy stuff. He’s strong. He’s tough. But he also meditates, eats organic food, and is committed to being healthy in mind, body, and spirit. Our guest Ryan Munsey is a perfect example of the new paradigm of a modern, masculine man. In this episode, we trace his journey from gym rat to health and fitness expert and industry leader. If you’re a man, this episode is a rich source of life hacks and practical recommendations. If you’re a woman, it hopefully serves as an inspiring example of what is possible when a guy commits himself to personal development and balance. Do you know someone who needs some coaching to up-level their energy and overall performance? Ep 2626. Dave Asprey: Becoming Bulletproof

Have you tried Bulletproof Coffee? If you have chances are better than even that once you tried it, you quickly converted and have since been reaping the benefits of boundless energy and focus. Perhaps you’ve heard of it, but the idea of putting butter in your coffee sounds gross, or even dangerous. Or maybe you still think eating fat makes you fat, coffee is not good for you, and cholesterol is a deadly poison, which must be avoided at all costs? There is also, of course, the remote possibility that you’ve been living under a rock somewhere in a remote corner of the planet, and have no idea whatsoever what Bulletproof Coffee even is. Keep reading my friend. Keep reading. In today’s interview with the world’s #1 biohacker and Bulletproof Coffee creator Dave Asprey we not only disprove these dietary myths but also highlight the fact that Bulletproof is not just a coffee, it’s a lifestyle. It’s about using food, high-grade supplementation, and cutting-edge technology to take control of your biology so that you can bring your absolute best self to the game of life every day. I have personally benefited so much as a result of Dave’s Bulletproof mission and lifestyle recommendations, that it brings me great pleasure and satisfaction to share many of his most recent and powerful discoveries with you.So put your seatbelt on as we take a trip down the rabbit hole that is Dave Asprey’s mind. Thanks for listening, and don’t forget to forward this episode with a friend who likes coffee, and likes living at their fullest potential.  HELP SUPPORT THIS SHOW!Starting and growing a podcast requires a ton of time, energy, and money. Ep 2525. Emil Detoffol: EMF - The High Price Of Technology

Do you love your cell phone, your WIFI, and the ability to travel in an airplane or drive a car? What about the conveniences of home like basic electric power, and all of your modern appliances, computers, and gadgets? We all love and appreciate the electricity grid humankind has created to bring us energy and the ability to communicate through the wires that cover the planet, and the signals that seem to transmit information through the air from device to device using some sort of magic. Most of us would sooner die than to give up these modern, and ever-increasing conveniences. But what if the wires in your home and the radio waves in the air carry not only power and date, but unseen dangers to our bodies and brains? Have you ever considered that the corporations who make microwave ovens, clock radios, cell phones, electric toothbrushes, internet routers, televisions and every piece of tech we buy and use every day don’t necessarily have a vested interest in your health when they design and market these products to us as consumers? They are interested in creating goods and services that sell. The fact that the technology being produced is likely harmful to people is not a factor that is typically considered when a communications or technology company launches an innovation. The fact is that there is very real evidence, and solid science supporting the idea the electromagnetic fields (EMF’s) created by our appliances, home wiring, and devices is linked to an endless array of degenerative diseases, the least of which being cancer. We are surrounded by these harmful fields 24/7 in most places on the planet, and some people live in areas that are much worse than others. For example, do you know if you reside close to a cell tower? What about your electric meter? Is it a ‘smart meter'? Chances are if you are reading this there is some likelihood that your home, place of work, and even automobile are dangerously saturated by these invisible, yet sometimes deadly rays.Without having to wear a tinfoil hat, or summon an alien race to come rescue you in an EMF-proof spacecraft, we find in this episode with Dr. Emil DeToffol that there are indeed ways to not only become aware of some of the most severe dangers, but also to very easily protect yourself, and your loved ones from most of the potential damage caused by this invisible threat. As always on The Life Stylist Podcast, I ask tough questions to get simple answers when it comes to creating not only awareness around health issues but also building simple, applicable strategies to help mitigate the risks of modern life on earth.Do me, yourself and someone you love a favor by sharing this episode with them. Want to know how to burn calories sitting on your ass? How about removing pain from your body without surgery or drugs, or detoxing chemical poisons and heavy metals without spending a dime on expensive supplements? Thanks to modern technology, you can now harness this energy on demand, in the comfort of your home, gym, or healing center. However, you must be warned: as awesome as infrared saunas are, you must be aware that not all hot boxes are created equal, and in fact, some are so poorly designed that they can be harmful to your health in many ways. Our guest Dr. Raleigh Duncan is not only one of the world’s leading experts on infrared saunas but is also CEO of Clearlight Saunas, which in my opinion are by far the most superior brand in the world. Ep 2323. Rich Roll: Surrender to Win - The Rise Of A Peaceful Warrior

How can you transform misery and failure into success and inspiration? In this episode with our guest Rich Roll, we find out exactly what he did to rise from the ashes of alcoholism and ill health, to become one of the most positive and influential leaders in the health and wellness industry. If you or someone you know has struggled with addiction and lived to tell the tale, you have most likely learned that there are many more levels of sobriety to attain once the actual substance abuse has been overcome. Most of us who have been so afflicted find that the underlying emotional causes and conditions of our problem become much more apparent once physical sobriety has been achieved. Ep 2222. David Wolfe: A Gypsy is Born - The Mystical Life of a Health Guru

What if you could envision a life based on your deepest passion, manifest that vision, then spend your life traveling to some of the most exotic places in the world to teach people how to do the same thing? In this episode, we take a cosmic trip into the nomadic life of health icon David ‘Avocado’ Wolfe and learn all about his life mission to enrich the lives of as many people as he can, while traversing the globe on a never-ending tour of speaking and teaching engagements. We learn from David the secret to how he created his unique lifestyle, and what continues to motivate him to carry his message to millions of people every year. (We even get a sneak peek into David’s natural jet-lag and travel remedies, which are part of the reason he’s able to make such a mind-blowing travel schedule sustainable). As much as David promotes a healthy lifestyle and diet, he also warns about becoming too dogmatic and militant about what you eat. Having been a raw vegan for many years, then eventually following the intuition of his body as it lead him to consume certain animal products like ghee, he has experienced the repercussions of diet fanatics, internet trolls, and extremism first-hand. He offers a refreshing view on how to make your own personal choices, and more importantly - how to immunize yourself to the social pressures and public criticism you are likely to experience from people who don’t agree with your personal choices.Of course, no interview with David would be complete without some practical recommendations, so rest assured that you'll also learn some of his best tips for creating not only an abundant life but also how to achieve peak health and longevity.Having been a fan of his work for so many years, it was a huge milestone for me (as well as the show) to finally get to spend some dedicated time with David and to share his vast experience in the field of health & wellness with you.As always, thanks for listening, and don’t forget to share this episode with a friend. To your health,LukeHELP SUPPORT THIS SHOW!Starting and growing a podcast requires a ton of time, energy, and money. Ep 2121. Shannon Drake: Spirit Drugs and Lipstick

Are you into drugs? I used to be. A lot.  I guess I was more into drugs than just about anything else for many years.  For me the timeline of my drug use went something like this: fun>fun with problems>problems>more problems>the end. If your story mirrors mine, the answer you found (if you have indeed found an answer) likely equates to some method of total abstinence. That’s what worked for me. The ‘crash and burn, then rise from the ashes’ model seems to be the only way out other than death for those of us who are so inflicted with that pesky addictive gene. But what if you’re a person who can use drugs without the drugs using you? You are in total control of when you use, and of the type of drugs you chose to do or not do. In this episode, we take an open-minded look at our current beliefs and laws surrounding drug use, and the emergence of the ‘spirit drug’ sub-culture that chooses to classify some drugs as 'medicine’ and uses them for spiritual advancement rather than a means by which to ‘party’ and run from their pain and problems. In this funny and thoughtful conversation, Shannon and I discover that the ability to use drugs constructively has a lot not only to do with who you are as s person, but also the reason you’re doing them, and perhaps most importantly- the type of drug you are doing. I mean, let's face it; Crack and magic mushrooms do tend to attract a different crowd and produce a different result. This is obviously why some drugs like marijuana are becoming legalized in more and more US states year over year. It’s also why our guest founded the first truly healthy weed edibles company in the world. Don’t care about drugs one way or another? I get it. That’s why a lot of the interview is devoted to Shannon’s other areas of expertise: Being a female entrepreneur in the natural beauty industry, and why it is so important for us to seek out companies that produce non-toxic products, and not to put anything on our bodies unless we could safely eat it. Spoiler alert! Lipstick is full of lead, one of the most toxic heavy metals on the planet. And that’s just the tip of the iceberg….Please forward this to someone who would benefit from the information provided. (Pretty much everyone)Thanks for reading, and for helping to spread the message of health, healing, and happiness.LukeHELP SUPPORT THIS SHOW!Starting and growing a podcast requires a ton of time, energy, and money. Ep 2020. Mas Vidal: Ayurveda and Yoga as a Way of Life

What does being ‘Spiritual’ mean to you? Does it mean that you have no problems? That you live in a cloud of rainbow-filled fairy dust, dancing your way through life like a cosmic unicorn? Or does it mean that you face your darkness, your ego- your lower self- so that you might find beyond that your own most true, higher self?Or perhaps you think the whole notion of being spiritual is a bunch of new-age, trendy, woo woo bullshit. You see people wearing designer mala beads, doing seemingly impossible yoga poses while pretending to meditate under a majestic waterfall on Instagram, and you just think “Yeah right. That’s easy for you maybe, but I have a real life, a real job, a real family, and real problems to deal with”. Or maybe you’re just one of those unlucky, left-brain dominant, logically skeptical, intellectuals who can’t even fathom the thought of some unseen, loving, benevolent intelligence controlling the known universe- let alone a god- as being personally available to you for strength and guidance. What if there was a simple, yet highly effective way to overcome life's biggest challenges? What if there were clear guidelines for taking care of your physical body, relationships, emotions, and even sex- that had been used, tested and vetted for thousands of years by millions of people? Wouldn't you have heard about it by now?? Well, it turns out that if you've spent the majority of your life being indoctrinated into modern Western culture, it's highly likely that you missed this spiritual boat. The name of this seeming elusive vessel is Ayurveda: The ancient lifestyle system from India that makes it possible for the most pragmatic, realistic, modern human to live a truly spiritual life down here on planet earth while keeping their two feet firmly planted on the ground. Thanks to fearless, and dedicated truth-seekers like our guest Mas Vidal, we are the fortunate beneficiaries of this time-honored lineage of yoga and Ayurveda. This episode presents a very clear starting point for anyone who is ready to explore the way of the modern mystic.HELP SUPPORT THIS SHOW!Starting and growing a podcast requires a ton of time, energy, and money. Ep 1919. Dr. Justin Marchegiani: Exposing (Dys) Functional Medicine

Have you ever wondered why your doctor never asks about your diet, or lifestyle when you walk in with an issue to solve? And why if you have an illness or disease that their approach usually involves giving you drugs, or cutting a part of your body off/out? Have you ever thought about why modern medicine tends to treat the symptoms of a disease, rather than cause? In this episode, we take a look at the world of functional medicine. In so doing we uncover a slew of myths and erroneous ideas about health and fitness. We're constantly brainwashed with misinformation about our health by mainstream media, which is primarily funded by advertising dollars from the pharmaceutical and (junk) food corporations. You’ll likely be shocked to learn the multitudes of scientifically verified truths about so many of our false, yet commonly-held beliefs about fat, cholesterol, calories, and weight loss that have been perpetuated on our culture by these greedy industries.Dr. Justin has been worked in the trenches with thousands of clients, helping them to unlearn many of these false assumptions, and to recover their health by addressing the root causes of disease and illness while treating them with dietary and lifestyle changes, coupled with vitamin, and herbal supplementation.Functional medicine is medicine that works. You’re about to find out how and why.If you know someone with health issues, please do them a favor by sharing this episode with them, in hopes that they might be inspired to find a doctor who uses this highly effective methodology in their medical practice. Thanks for listening, and for fighting for truth and justice in our broken medical system.HELP SUPPORT THIS SHOW!Starting and growing a podcast requires a ton of time, energy, and money. Ep 1818. Andy Hnilo: How To Love The Skin You Live In

Could you eat the products you put on your skin without getting sick? Not sure? Well, you should be. Your skin is your largest organ and is meant to eliminate toxins, not absorb them. In this episode we uncover the dirty industry secrets in the skin and beauty product industries, and how to avoid them. Heads up to the bros in the audience: You have skin too, and it’s just as important that you take care of it as it is for the ladies. It might just be high time for you to embrace ‘Bro Beauty’! Our guest is my homeboy Andy Hnilo, who brought himself back from a near-fatal accident, using natural healing, supplements, herbs, and biohacking technology. He eliminated terrible facial scarring from the injuries he sustained in his accident, and as a result ended up formulating some of the most pure and potent skincare products in the world. His homemade formulas worked so well that he decided to start his company, Alitura, based on recipes he created, and perfected for himself. Andy’s story is a classic, and a truly inspiring tale of the applying mental alchemy to transform a great tragedy into a blessing, not only for himself but for the legions of people he’s been able to help with his unique product line. Sometimes in the middle of the storm, it’s so difficult to see the lesson on the other side. Thanks to courageous souls like Andy, who live to tell the tales of redemption- we can all learn how to summon the will to overcome life’s challenges gracefully. If you know someone who needs some inspiration right now, please share this episode with them.HELP SUPPORT THIS SHOW!Starting and growing a podcast requires a ton of time, energy, and money. Ep 1616. Claus Pummer: Sleep, The Smartest Drug?

Did you know what the #1 supplement in the universe is for health, longevity, energy, healing, detoxing, and maintaining a youthful appearance is entirely free to all sentient beings on the planet? It’s this thing called sleep. Yep, it’s true. It’s that simple. Well, sort of. We in ‘modern’ Western culture have all but ignored this vital nutrient for the greater part of this century, but thanks to much recent research and media attention many health and wellness advocates are finally giving sleep its due consideration. The problem remains though that most people have no idea how their sleeping environments and sleep hygiene habits are preventing them from truly experiencing deep, restorative sleep. You will be shocked to find out to what degree chemicals, dust mite feces, bedroom electronics, toxic bedding and mattresses, un-natural lighting, and dirty air are interfering with our natural human sleep patterns. In this episode with sleep guru Claus Pummer, we'll learn all of the bedding industry secrets, as well as the science behind the long lost art of sleep. Do yourself and someone you love a favor and share this episode with them, that together we might help the world achieve a higher level of happiness and fulfillment by learning how to simply rest the way nature intended. To your health,Luke

Ep 1515. Ben Greenfield: Biohacking the Ultimate Home

Is your home eco-safe? Meaning does it support your health and healing? It’s supposed to right? It’s intended to be the place you go to rest, seek shelter, and regenerate from the stress of daily life right? Well, what if your home is making you weaker? If so, how can you make it supportive to life, rather than destructive? The trick is to simulate nature inside your home, using technology. You’re about to find out how.In this episode, I talk to fitness expert and biohacking extremist (like myself) Ben Greenfield. Ben has taken his Spokane, Washington home, and turned it into the ultimate nest of health and well-being.I grill Ben on every minute detail of his home hacking project, whether it be the water, air, or EMF mitigation. If you want to learn how to make your home into a healing center, this episode is for you.In addition to the house hacking theme, Ben also drops major knowledge bombs on tons of health and fitness related topics. So even if you think you’ve got your crib dialed, you’re absolutely going to want to give it a thorough listen if you’re into optimizing your own human meat suit. Thanks for listening, and please do someone you know a favor and share this show with them right now.Heres to YOU!Luke

Ep 1414. Igor Milevskiy: What’s in Your Water?

Your body is roughly 60% water. Your brain around 75%. What kind of water are your body and brain made of? Did you know that tap water is one of the most toxic (and in my opinion, disgusting) substances that you can put in your body? What’s so bad about it you might ask? Below are just a few of the common contaminants we discuss in this episode. Keep in mind that in most major cities the municipal water is recycled, so just imagine that anything and everything that people flush down the toilet or drain end up back in the water supply. Sure, it is sanitized with more chemicals to disinfect it, but the much of the residue from all that nastiness remains in the water you’re making your baby formula with, brushing your teeth with, or worse yet- drinking.Check this out, but before you do place your hand under your chin to avoid having your jaw drop and hit the ground. Lubrication and semen from used condoms Birth control pills Viagra Lead Fluoride Anti-depressants Hair dye chemicals Dry cleaning chemicals Ammonia Radiation from chemotherapy Need we go on? Are you getting the idea? But you only drink “filtered” water right? Well, unfortunately, many of the most poisonous compounds in water are tough to get out. Or perhaps you don’t even drink filtered water because you know that. But what about the water you cook with, bathe yourself (of your child) in, and all of the bottled drinks you drink contain mostly “filtered water”? How about that soup you had at the Thai spot last night? Tap water. The ices cubes in your team from Starbucks? Tap water. The water in your hot tub or swimming pool? You guessed it. Tap water. The stuff is everywhere, and it’s nearly impossible to avoid. Many popular bottled “spring water” brands are also just overpriced tap water. So what do we do??In this interview, I take an in-depth look at these issues with water expert Igor Milevskiy, and I promise you will walk away with some very effective solutions that you can quickly and somewhat easily apply.Do the humankind a favor and share this episode by tweeting it, Facebook posting it, or just emailing/texting it to a few of your family members and friends. There is a solution, but only if we build awareness, and stop relying on the companies who sell us the water to tell us the truth. To your health and happiness,Luke

Ep 1313. Dr. John Gray: Making Peace in the War of Love

Why do we fall in love? What’s the point? Is there a higher purpose underlying our relationships that makes all of the challenges and heartaches worth the effort? Have you ever considered the idea that the reason we form intimate partnerships is to apply spiritual principles, and encourage the advancement of our own soul’s evolution? And even if we do set that as our intention, why do we seem to miss the mark so often, and walk away wounded, full of regret, or worse yet- repeating the same destructive patterns over and over again? How do we create and maintain polarity between the masculine and feminine energies which we all possess? In this compelling interview with legendary author and relationship expert John Gray, we explore the fundamental role our spiritual goals and values play in our romantic connections. We learn how to contextualize our relationships from a spiritual perspective, and how impactful our hormonal balance is when it comes to healthy communication and in having the capacity to live and grow together in harmony and fulfillment. It turns out that without and understanding of how our male and female hormones affect us (and how to manage them) it could be near impossible to get along and stay together. This was one of the most powerful interviews I’ve done personally, so it brings me great joy to share John’s message with the world.Do someone you know a favor and share this episode with them, in hopes that we all might come to a deeper understanding of ourselves and the ones we love.Blessings to you and yours,Luke

Ep 1212. Tej Khalsa: Kundalini Yoga - God's Technology

Do you think yoga is just a form of exercise? A way to get more flexible so that you can show off your awesome pretzel poses on Instagram and win the approval of your peers or potential mate? What if that’s not the point of yoga at all? What if yoga is in actuality a powerful tool for spiritual enlightenment- a way to escape the limiting clutches of our human ego? How can chanting mantras, breathing in strange patterns, and moving your body in various geometric shapes change your consciousness? Is this a bunch of woo-woo, new age bollocks or can yoga put us in touch with who and what we truly are, beyond our basic instinctual drives, and limited intellect? Can we tap into the infinitely vast power and intelligence of creation to help us with our day to day life lessons here on the human level? The answer, fortunately, is affirmative. Based on my subjective experience with Kundalini Yoga over the past five years, I’m happy to report that my mind, body, and spirit have been (and continue to be) enriched far beyond anything I have experienced in over 15 years of various forms of yoga practice, from LA to India. In this exclusive interview with my teacher Tej Kaur Khalsa, we take an in-depth look at this ancient spiritual technology with one of the world's foremost experts on- and devotees of- this wonderfully powerful tool of transformation. This episode was one of the most meaningful to me personally, and I trust that it will deliver the same joy and insight to you, the listener. Thank you for sharing this journey with me, and please do someone you love a favor by sharing it with them.Blessings to you and yours,Luke

Are you able to hypnotize yourself and instantly neutralize eruptions of fear and anger? Have you mastered the art of healing your body of deadly tropical viral infections? Sound impossible? If you know as much as today's guest Tony Wrighton about NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming) and biohacking, such feats are not only possible but easily learned by most people.  Tony’s a good friend of mine, and the host of one of my favorite podcasts called Zestology, which has been crushing the iTunes ratings in the health category lately. He’s also a presenter on Sky Sports in the UK and the author of 3 books on NLP. In this episode, Tony and I have a powerfully inspiring chat about how he's healed himself and changed his life for the better using many of the same principles and health and personal development that I've used to transform my own life from a living hell into a wonderfully fulfilling adventure.  Don't forget to share this episode with someone you love who's also interested in designing the ultimate lifestyle! To your health and happiness,Luke Storey

Ep 1010. Eli Block: Orgasmic Meditation

E

Have you ever considered sexual contact as a spiritual practice? Did you know that there is a worldwide movement based on using the sexual energy created by clitoral stimulation as a tool for spiritual growth? Yeah seriously. Having been a devoted meditator for many years (as well as a pretty big fan of orgasm!), I was immediately intrigued when I first heard about this practice known as “OM”, or Orgasmic Meditation. Needless to say, I had to try it right away and promptly took a weekend course as soon as I could. What followed was an experience I’ll never forget. After my training, I tracked down today's guest Eli Block, one of the top teachers of OM in the US. In this interview, we discuss not only the purpose and technique of Orgasmic Meditation, but also human sexuality, intimacy, relationship skills, and the possible dangers of pornography.I’ve got to issue a spoiler alert for this one: If you’re squeamish about graphic sex talk, you might want to skip ahead to episode 11, because you’re about to hear two men discuss sexuality as if no one else is listening. It's pretty intense. My hope in presenting this episode is that we all come to a deeper understanding of not only ourselves, but the people we love.Enjoy it, and do the world a favor by sharing this with a friend. Thanks for supporting The Life Stylist mission of health and happiness. Luke Storey

Ep 55. Emily Fletcher: Meditation Made Easy

Have you ever decided to take up meditation, then after a few days, weeks, or perhaps even minutes- gotten frustrated and given up? Maybe you thought you just weren't the spiritual type? If so, you’re likely to be pleasantly surprised by this show. Today’s guest is Emily Fletcher, founder of Ziva Meditation and one of the world’s leading experts on the subject. But what makes Emily unique is the style of meditation she teaches. It’s called Vedic Meditation, and it's been an absolute game changer for me personally. I’ve been meditating for around 15 years and have tried just about every tradition I’ve come across. I’ve studied with gurus in remote villages in India, only to be guided back eventually to the Vedic method taught my current teacher in Los Angeles. What makes Emily and the Vedic tradition so badass though is that it’s incredibly simple. It’s the easiest- yet at the same time- the most effective style of meditation I’ve ever used. In this episode, Emily and I discuss the how and why of meditation, and illuminate many of the reasons that most people fail and give up fairly quickly when attempting to add this obviously beneficial practice to their lives. The rewards of meditation have been known and celebrated by millions of human beings for as far back as written records go, yet it remains so elusive to so many. Take a trip with me and Emily to find out why.Share this show with someone you love, and thanks for sharing this journey with me.-Luke Storey

Ep 44. Evan Brand: The Zen of Stress

What are the hidden causes of stress and anxiety, and what can we do about them naturally? That's what we find out in this episode with Evan Brand, host of the super-popular Not Just Paleo Podcast. He’s got over 2 million downloads on his show, and with good reason. (About 50 of them were downloaded by yours truly) Evan is one of the most relatable health experts on the scene, and his simple, common sense approach to health is so refreshing and easy to apply. Do you get moody or depressed for no logical reason? Do you spend money on vitamins and supplements without ever having your labs done to see what your body actually needs? Did you know that simple changes to your diet and lifestyle could permanently cure many mental and emotional issues? It turns out your gut biome has a lot more to do with your mood than most people think. Hidden toxins and heavy metals can also reek havoc on your vibes, but it’s usually a waste of time (and cash) to play the guessing game trying figure out how to correct deficiencies and effectively detox. This is where Evan comes in. During the show, he breaks us off some very practical solutions to some quite complex human issues. I suffered from severe depression and mood disorders myself for many years (and solved them using many of the natural solutions offered in this interview), so this show is one that really hit home for me. It’s my hope that it does the same for you. Please pass it along to someone you love.-Luke StoreyPS. Ep 33. Dr. Jack Kruse: Surviving the City with Spiritual Science

In this episode, Dr. Jack Kruse and I discuss ways to biohack modern city life by merging the worlds of science and spiritual intuition. The world we live in is not a friendly environment when it comes to our food, water, air, shelter, and modes of travel. So many of the health challenges we face are purely environmental, and this episode offers a host of solutions to these very problems. How can we harness the power of Mother Nature, while still enjoying the conveniences we’ve become so accustomed to? That's the answer I wanted,  and that what I got. Some of Jack’s theories on health and wellness can be challenging for the average civilian to understand, and put into practice. My goal in this interview was to translate his brain surgeon jargon into everyday dude-speak so that you the listener would be able to derive some real value from it, and take away some practical lifestyle hacks to add to your routine.  Mission accomplished.Tighten your seat belt and enjoy going deep in the mind of Dr. Jack Kruse. Luke StoreyPS: Don't forget to check out the video of this interview on YouTube!

Ep 22. Daniel Vitalis: Farming and the Fall of Man

In today’s show I’m are talking to my friend Daniel Vitalis about human domestication. What happened when we started farming? What happened when we started living in unnatural homes cut off from the earth’s natural ecology, and from our true wild nature? We will discuss the truth about where we came from, where we are, and where we might be going. We also take a brutally honest look into our current human diets, and compare that to the diets of our hunter-gatherer ancestors. We explore some very thought-provoking ideas on the ever-raging battle of vegan vs. paleo eating habits. How much damage and destruction is actually caused by growing an acre of kale? Why do we devalue the lives of plants and all of the small creatures that die in the process of modern agriculture? Spoiler alert for vegans: Keep an open mind, then follow your heart.Daniel Vitalis is a writer, podcaster, public speaker and lifestyle pioneer in the sphere of human health, personal development and strategic living. He’s the host of the podcast Rewild Yourself as well as the founder of Surthrival - a fresh, unique, high-end natural supplement boutique.Get ready to unplug from the matrix and say hello to your inner wild animal. Long live the human ape!Luke Storey

trailerE

Welcome to The Life Stylist Podcast. This is episode 1. The story of Luke Storey. My story. It’s one of redemption, transformation, and hope.  A story that sets the stage for this podcast and my message of lifestyle design based on health, spirituality, and personal development.  From my early years as a troubled kid who found solace in nature and music, to my teen delinquency and subsequent trip to reform school, to many wild years living the rock n’ roll dream-turned-nightmare in Hollywood.  After almost burning my life to the ground in the abyss of the LA drug scene of the early ‘90’s I was able to start over at 26, and thus begin a 20-year process of intense personal rehabilitation on every level. Following my hitting rock bottom and finding my path of salvation, I became a fashion stylist, and went on to work with countless of celebrities before starting my own fashion school, School of Style, in 2008.This premier episode tells the tale of one man’s journey from the bottom to the top and shines a light on all of the tools and principles that have paved the way so that you, the listener, might be spared a few wasted years of trial and error.Thank you for joining me on this sometimes tragic, sometimes funny, summary of a life beyond my wildest dreams. May it provide inspiration to anyone who is somewhere on the path that I have traveled. Blessings to you and yours.Luke Storey
