EIn episode 40 of The Kitchen Table, Ken Baden welcomes Adam Bensman, a renowned expert in the door-to-door industry. They discuss Adam's role as a roof strategist and they also express how they used to have a "full throttle" approach to work, pushing themselves to the point of breaking down and then taking a vacation to recover. Thus, they now recognize their intention to learn from others who have found this balance and are committed to adopting a healthier approach to work.Tune in to learn more about Adam and his contributions to the business world.TIMESTAMPS[00:02:45] CEO to Roof Strategist Journey.[00:06:11] Selling Roofs Door to Door.[00:10:30] Door-to-Door Stigma.[00:13:26] Running a Business Efficiently.[00:21:11] The Future of the Storm.[00:26:30] Crisis as an Opportunity.[00:32:13] Crazy Increase in Prices.[00:42:47] Door-to-Door Sales[00:48:48] Instant Gratification and Social Media.[00:52:43] Finding Work-Life Balance. In this episode, Ken Baden and Adam Bensman's goal is to maintain a consistent pace and stay focused without burning out. They highlight how social media is designed to divert individuals from society and can be used by corporate entities and potentially the government to exert control. They also emphasize the instant gratification aspect of social media, where individuals seek validation and recognition through likes and followers. This constant need for validation can lead to feelings of insecurity and a focus on superficial measures of success.QUOTES“Take the initiative, go in, work your butt off.” - Ken Baden "If you want uncommon results, you got to do uncommon things." - Adam Bensman"And if you're willing to ride the wave, I always look at a crisis as an opportunity." - Adam Bensman"If you're thinking, how can I make money? You're a moron, and you're going to be a failure." - Adam Bensman "I think chasing money is greedy and it's a poor way to start business and just ask yourself, what problems can I solve?" - Adam Bensman"Yeah, the secret to success is simple. Get really good at what you do, practice all the time, and don't let yourself get in your own way." - Adam BensmanSOCIAL MEDIA LINKSKen BadenFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/TheKenBadenInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/bluecollarcloser/Adam BensmanInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/roofstrategist/Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/adam.bensman/LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/roofstrategist/WEBSITE:The Kitchen Table Podcast: https://thekitchentablepodcast.net/

The conversation touches on topics such as the misconception that blue-collar work is outdated and the desire of younger generations to pursue careers in technology.Tune in to learn more about Ken Rusk’s book and the work he's doing to promote blue-collar entrepreneurship.TIMESTAMPS[00:01:57] Writing and Promoting books.[00:07:11] Controlling Your Own Future.[00:10:38] Living Life to the Fullest.[00:14:23] Blue-Collar Spaces in Demand.[00:21:00] Oversupply of Business Degrees.[00:24:23] College as a Scam.[00:31:15] Being the Limiter of Growth. In this episode, Ken Baden and guest, Ken Rusk, strongly advocate for considering trade or blue-collar jobs as viable options for a successful career and financial stability. They argue that while pursuing a degree in a specific field can provide a clear career path, there is now a high demand for skilled workers in the blue-collar industry. They believe these industries will soon have the power to set their own price points due to a mass influx of workers. In addition, Ken Baden and Ken Rusk highlight how the push for college education has overshadowed the many other paths to success. They emphasize that apprenticeships, tech schools, trade schools, or even starting to work right after high school can lead to a balanced life and the fulfillment of one's goals. Thus, they also emphasize that it is not just the type of job that matters, but also what individuals do with their chosen profession. They believe that blue-collar workers have the ability to quickly create wealth for themselves, enabling them to enjoy the things they have always wanted to do.QUOTES“That's exactly what We're trying to bring light to, and we say blue-collar industries can yield white-collar returns, and they absolutely can, or dirty hands can equal clean money.” - Ken Baden"In blue-collar work, you get to control pretty much your input, and you control your output." - Ken Rusk"So, it's an awesome responsibility, but at the same time, it's wholly freeing because once you know what you want your life to look like, there's a million ways to go get it." - Ken Rusk"The beautiful part about what we do as blue-collar workers is we create wealth for ourselves in abundance quickly enough that we can start to enjoy the things that we wish we would have done." - Ken Rusk"which means you gotta be careful that you as a business owner, aren't the limiter of your own growth." - Ken Rusk "I can't get what I want for myself, nor can my company get what it wants or needs until all of you get what you want first." - Ken RuskSOCIAL MEDIA LINKSKen BadenFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/TheKenBadenInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/bluecollarcloser/Ken RuskInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/kenruskofficial/Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/KenRuskOfficial/LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/ken-rusk-2656a7175/WEBSITE:The Kitchen Table Podcast: https://thekitchentablepodcast.net/

They point out the importance of cash-flow-generating assets and trust when it comes to investing. Ken and Brandon highlight the significance of starting the investment journey and acquiring knowledge about real estate investing.Tune in to learn more about the current challenging times in navigating the real estate market.TIMESTAMPS[00:02:15] The Safe Play in Real Estate.[00:04:09] Building Wealth with Single-Family Homes.[00:07:47] Managing Assets and Passive Income.[00:12:32] Real Estate as a Wealth Tool.[00:14:19] Buying Opportunities in Real Estate. In this episode, Ken Baden and his guest, Brandon Brittingham, highlight that investing in cash-flowing assets is a strategy commonly employed by wealthy individuals. They explain that wealthy individuals acquire these assets and hold onto them indefinitely. Instead of selling them, they leverage the equity in these assets when they need money, without having to pay taxes. This strategy allows them to maximize the potential of real estate and take advantage of tools like depreciation and cost segregation to minimize their tax liability. In addition, Ken and Brandon discuss various ways to invest in real estate. They mention that starting with single-family properties is a common approach as it allows individuals to learn the process and gain experience before moving on to larger investments such as multifamily properties or storage units. Hence, they also stress the potential benefits of investing in real estate, including the ability to leverage tax advantages, build wealth, and generate cash flow through rental income.QUOTES“When it comes to investing in real estate, everybody overcomplicates it. They make it more difficult than it needs to be. I mean, ultimately at the end of the day, if you buy real estate and you hold it long-term, uh, it's going to go up in value.” - Brandon Brittingham“I think multifamily and storage units are two of the safest places to put your money long-term.” - Brandon Brittingham“Putting your money in the bank, what happens is you just lose value, right? Loses value every day. So nothing wrong with the stock market. You know, I just believe in real estate more because it's made, it's produced and made me more wealth and helped me do a lot of things. And I like the safety of it.” - Brandon Brittingham"So you find a property management company, put some people in it, you pay them. And if you break even, it's a win.” - Ken Baden“90% of all millionaires came from real estate.” - Ken BadenSOCIAL MEDIA LINKSKen BadenFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/TheKenBadenInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/bluecollarcloser/Brandon BrittinghamInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/mailboxmoneyb/Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/brandon.brittingham.1/LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/brittingham/WEBSITE:The Kitchen Table Podcast: https://thekitchentablepodcast.net/

By doing so, Ken and Fraser emphasize the significance of optimizing internal factors, such as hormone systems and neurochemicals, to achieve physical results and overall well-being. They also note that energy is a valuable asset and that even with all the time in the world, if one does not have good energy, it does not matter. Furthermore, Ken and Fraser discuss the impact of one's appearance on their success. They mention that positively presenting oneself can maximize opportunities and appeal. They acknowledge that this may seem superficial, but stress the importance of realizing that presenting oneself well is part of the whole package. By being skilled at what you do and presenting it in a positive way, one can maximize their success and achieve their goals.QUOTES“When you put your mind to something and you become masterful at that thing, doors open for you." - Fraser Bayley"I don't say this to people to say ‘you should do what I do’, but I'm saying, I truly think that we have a lot more ability to change things than we realize. And if we buy into this label and we just kind of identify with the label, it's going to be a self-fulfilling prophecy. It's kind of like that line, you know, if you argue for your limitations, guess what? You get to keep them." - Fraser Bayley"And the reason why people kind of burn out with their diet and fitness stuff is because they're doing too much guesswork." - Fraser Bayley“You can say whatever you want but you can't tell me it's undeniable that somebody who's in great shape, doesn't even matter they could be the ugliest damn person in the world, but if they take care of themselves there's something that's being said just by the way they look, the way that they're in shape” - Ken BadenSOCIAL MEDIA LINKSKen BadenFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/TheKenBadenInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/bluecollarcloser/Fraser BayleyFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/fraser.bayley/Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/fraserbayley/LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/fraser-bayley-a769a116a/WEBSITE:The Kitchen Table Podcast: https://thekitchentablepodcast.net/

The speakers shared personal experiences of travel mishaps, highlighting the unpredictable nature of travel. They then delved into the journey of Dan Fantasia, CEO of Treeline, a sales recruitment and strategy company. One of the key takeaways from the episode was the importance of allocating resources to find qualified candidates. Dan emphasized that many companies struggle with recruiting because they do not invest enough resources in the process. Instead, they often rely on posting job ads and sifting through a large pool of unqualified candidates. This approach leads to wasted time and ultimately hiring the "best of the worst" candidates. To overcome this challenge, Dan suggested that companies should have clear goals and metrics for their recruitment efforts, such as outreach, interviews, and database building. By setting specific targets and holding themselves accountable, companies can drive the outreach necessary to find top talent quickly and effectively. The speakers also discussed the value of mentioning sports and other experiences in job interviews to reveal important sales characteristics. Dan highlighted that individuals with a strong work ethic and competitive attitude, such as ex-athletes, often possess the qualities that are important for successful sales professionals. While it may depend on the industry and career stage, mentioning these experiences can demonstrate the drive and passion necessary for sales roles.Another topic of discussion was the challenges of commission-only sales and the effectiveness of the "one push-up rule" in achieving bigger goals. Commission-only sales can be a risky endeavor, as it requires individuals to rely solely on their abi

You've got to have your mind, your body, all of those things under wraps if you intend to get to these levels that only a few get to see.(00:06:05) That's the one silver lining of coming out of something like that. You're just like, well, I don't really give a shit what anybody thinks anymore because I kind of have to have that attitude. Otherwise, I'm always going to be, I don't know, hating myself or living in a perpetual state of regret. And that's just not healthy.(00:14:54) For me, it was like, I have to have this. It's the neuroscience of a craving. And this can go for addiction. It can go for anything that you're addicted to, right? Or a habit. So, the neuroscience of a craving really essentially just the psychology of it, really, is that it all addiction starts with a thought, and this is about to get really deep, but it does. It starts with a thought in an emotional response that you have. The problem has never really been addiction. That was a solution to the problem.(00:25:33) It's the root cause. It's figuring out why.(00:31:02) It takes going within, and I know that sounds super cliche, but it takes time to be able to be like, all right, let me just face myself. Let me look and observe my patterns and see why this is happening.(00:41:51) Rest is a business activity. It is a money-making activity.(00:46:05) We're addicted to stress. We don't realize it. We're addicted to hard well.(00:51:13) Dude, you're going to hate me saying this, but change happens at the speed of safety.(00:54:31) If you don't like the way you feel, change it. Literally, just be like, do I like the way I feel right now? What am I thinking about? No, you have agency. We just forget.(01:01:21) If you don't feel good, if you're not okay, if you don't have energy, if you're not getting yourself together, you get sober, you start trying to achieve things. You guys are fucking toothing to the ten I believe I can help you become but you got to come give it all up and you got to come work for me.(00:09:20) People don't like that, man. They fight it more than ever because society is a bunch of fucking losers, and they've allowed mediocrity to creep across their lives, and they don't even realize it.(00:13:27) The dopamine needs to come from every day getting up and doing the work, not the spike, when you get the outcome you're looking for.(00:18:59) Andy and the reason why you are as successful as you all are and why the content is blowing up is because he's not afraid to say the things that everybody really wants to say and that everybody really wants to do and everybody really wants to have.(00:25:18) I started stacking these baby bullshit things that I started doing: the laundry, the gardening, the dishes, taking the laundry out, helping her fold clothes, all that other stuff. And slowly, I started getting a new woman. I started getting a woman that wouldn't leave her hands off me. I started getting this passion and desire.(00:30:12) I will leave you and I will go find a woman that wasn't with me for 21 years, that didn't help raise this man, and she's going to get the best of me, not you the one who fucking deserves it. Wake up.(00:35:45) I can have this life. I deserve this shit. If I do the hard work, honor my woman, I got it all, man. I'm going to get it all.(00:44:10) If you go dark for a year, if you're single and recreate this human, you're going to go find a badass relationship with someone that's going to floor you. And that's what you want.(00:48:58) But I know she wasn't fantasizing about me, and I want to be her fantasy. I want to be her everything. I don't ever want to let her down. And from there forward, I will build a badass life.(00:54:43) Take her with you, bro. Please. I beg people that are in your shoes, take your woman with you. What value does she bring? She's right by your side.(00:58:32) I treat you like the queen you are, and I give you everything that you want. Now I'm hyper focused on who you want to become. I'm paying attention to your needs. Give her a massage, wake her up, change your wife's perspective, man. Men don't want to do that. They just rather take a shower and cuddle in bed and not take that action because, oh, my wife doesn't feel like having sex. No, dude, she does. She just wants to have sex with a better version of you.(01:04:20) But we're equal in everything else in life. But I have a role to play. So does she. And so, yeah, 25 years this year.(01:13:16) I know what it feels like to hate yourself and to want to die and wish you weren't here. And you know that you are quite literally a burden on the people that you love, and they would actually be better off if you weren't around.(01:14:27) I love you guys so much. And he believed in me when I didn't believe in myself.(00:08:47) He told me, he pulled me aside. He goes, 'Listen, if your wife isn't in this with you, you're out.'(00:14:56) Time is not relevant when we're doing this. Time is not relevant. The days are not relevant to this company, the Elliott Group, except for church at 11:00 Sunday, there's no time. There's no days here, and time will be gone.(00:19:10) You're better off alone than around anybody else who doesn't agree with you. Until you find the right circle, we're the right circle. You come here, man. You gotta get out of there. Come here for three days, man, and I'm going to show you. You're going to be like, Holy shit. Okay, so this is how you recruit. This is who you look for. This is how it's done.(00:22:52) Do the work. It'll take off.(00:33:08) But I'm going to give you the software that I would use if you were just getting started.(00:33:58) It would be a very foolish thing for you to be in the AI revolution and five years from now wake up and not know what the hell is going on. That would be a very bad business decision and personal decision. That's just not allowed.(00:43:25) Death would stop me because I'm not stopping. I'm not going to lose this battle. I'm going to have setbacks and failures. I've cost Andy a couple million dollars with some of my CRM mistakes. I'm sure of it. I'm sure of it. But we never stop. We never quit. So the only thing stopping me, where my mind's at and where I'm going to go is if the good Lord decides to take me, that's it. That's a freaky fucking mindset to have, because that makes me unstoppable.(00:48:51) Dude, it's been a lot, bro. You ballers out there, you need to hear how I recreated my marriage. 21 years done. Like, I'm out, tapped out, and now 25 years of marriage. Now to have the marriage I have, dude, you couldn't convince me that was possible, and now she won't keep her arms off me, and we're running the business together, and she's doing the seminars. She's Jacqueline's right hand. It's like, this is my wife. Damn, I'm checking her out again. I'm like, Shit, this is great. Personal branding and building a brand are essential for success, and scaling with process requires a well-defined system and delegation of tasks. This episode provided an insightful exploration of the components required to achieve success, and is a must-listen for any entrepreneurs looking to grow.Episode Outline:(00:00:03) Inspirational Upbringing(00:05:16) Microsoft Career Success(00:10:21) Leading a Team(00:16:00) Leaving Microsoft(00:21:42) Building a Brand(00:26:46) Scaling with Process(00:31:58) Scaling a BusinessQuotes:(00:04:49) It didn't have to be drugs or alcohol. It could just be, hey, look, man, I grew up and my mom was my inspiration and held it down for nine kids and had to move 50 different states, and there's only 50 of them. But would you say that impacted your I mean, you already said that's where you got your work ethic, so what did that do for you?(00:08:20) Nobody can do this better than me.(00:13:14) I sell time, which is the one resource you can't actually buy. I sell time because we build automated systems that're going to get you micro minutes back, right? Like if you do the same five minute task ten times a day. Now, that's 50 minutes that you just spent. You compound that by a week, that's 5 hours. Compound that by a month, that's 20 hours. I just saved you on a five minute task that you've dismissed because it just takes five minutes.(00:17:31) My whole life I was told just get good grades in school, you're going to go to college, you're going to get a job at Microsoft. That's what I worked towards my entire life was like this coveted six figure salary at some big company and then four years into Microsoft I finally got it finally a house way bigger than I needed. Huge 40 x 40, shop 20 cars in the driveway, eating a steak every night. More fake friends than I could even keep up with, six figure salary. And I was like, man is this it? This can't be like everything there is to life.(00:21:49) You got to come out on top, you know what I mean? And then you started your own brand, and how long would you say before it successfully kind of got to where it is now? Because we've got a book, right? You've written a book, and the book is kind of like the prelude or the backbone. I guess that's what you're doing now.(00:31:07) My biggest piece of advice is to operate like you already run a 100 million dollar operation. That's how we're building and scaling is my team and everything. We're a 100 million dollar operation. Whether we're actually a 100 million dollar operation right now or not, we're operating it like one.(00:32:25) Swallow your ego. You're not the only motherfucker that can do it.Social Post:Are you looking for a podcast that will inspire you to take action and make a difference? Look no further than The Kitchen Table! I don't know that there's anybody but then again, I don't know what he did or didn't do, but we all know what the exit was. 350 at any multiplier is the 350 gross. Anyhow, I am very excited for you, brother.(00:39:29) It's not a material item. It's not the fucking the thing, the prize, the money, anything like that. It's a challenge. It's fuck. It's the journey, and who you become on that journey that really makes the difference.(00:23:53) But I challenge people to do something outside the norm that they wouldn't normally do. Whether it's run a mile, whether it's go work out, whether it's play fucking tennis, I don't care. Something fucking active.(00:24:29) But if you have the discipline to do this, you can build anything else. That's how I feel.(00:05:30) Having the correct standards and aligned with those disciplines, knowing that these are my standards, these are my goals, these are what I want, this is the legacy that I want to leave. And then you figure out what it takes to get there.(00:13:15) To hit rock bottom is what I say. Everybody's rock bottom is different. What it takes, agree.(00:41:59) You just got to put in the fucking work.(00:10:42) But finally one day I kind of had a wake up call. I had a hit and run. And I just shake my head every time I'm going, you don't see what's actually at work here and how you could do it.(00:08:48) If this, then this now, there are no guarantees. There's no 100% thing. Otherwise, we would just get what we want in the snap of a finger.(00:18:20) Your why is the gas in your tank. Your why is the most important thing you can attach to anything you want.(00:26:15) Be really careful about the energy you're putting out there and the results you're looking for. And be careful with the words you use, especially to or about yourself.(00:28:38) It is hard sometimes when you're in it, but damn it, dude, if you're not fucking right. Excuse my language, man, but we had this house. I'm going to use this as an example, and we're up against, or at least I am as far as meetings, but, man, I got to share this. This house has been such a blessing, first of all, but the actual construction phase, every time stuff started to go wrong, and I spawned, was very controlling. I run a tight ship, but at the same token, I got a lot going on up here. So, I crave discipline and control because I have enough chaos going on.(00:04:24) When somebody believes in you, even when you don't, you should listen to them, because they see something in you that you don't see.(00:38:52) We both do win. We're both better for it, brother. I love you, man.(00:32:09) But you know what? And also, too, and I think it had a lot to do with not just the book, but our conversation. Every time I caught myself slipping into like, man, I don't know, I was like, oh, hell no, I am not going to set myself up. Because I tell you what, like I said, the adverse is also true. You start, oh, I'm not going to pass this test. Well, guess what? You're sub. If nothing else. I believe in the power of the subconscious, and these things are very much you correct me if I'm wrong. I think they're very much intertwined. Would you agree?Blog Post:Have you ever dreamed of achieving success, but felt like it was out of reach? And so I went to high school, got decent grades, went to college, and graduated with a sports management degree.""So, I started looking for ways to make money online, and I came across an ad that taught me how to be a digital landlord.""So, the first thing that we do is what we refer to as a digital audit.""SEO is normally a 6-to-12-month process to see a massive return on investment because I compare SEO like going to the gym. When you start SEO, it's like signing up for your gym membership. After not being in the gym, really ever.""We take care of literally all of that. So, a lot of people think, SEO is a big investment to basically wait 6 to 12 months. It's not that leads aren't going to come in before them, but that's when the noticeable difference usually is across the board.""Our logo stuff is much less than that, but we just had to give you an idea, we just had a landscape company that came to us that has been doing SEO. And we want to rebrand to have it be more generic because we want to go into more services, and we also want to go into more locations.""But to that point, you know, in these areas that you may not know, I think PCR is a little bit more I don't know, easy to digest and less complicated. But that stuff really interests me.""It's all on the calendar. I struggled with that for a long time. I would block things out on my calendar, but I would be very quick to remove them. If something comes up, you know, an opportunity comes up, a client calls, like, all those different things. And basically, it wasn't a calendar. Right? And it was also very open ended.""The biggest thing that has led me to where I'm at right now is really the people that I bring on in those partnerships.""It's got to align with my schedule and what I need to do in order to make it happen.""I'm a very giving person. I love to provide value, and I love to support as many people in their missions as I possibly can. But there was a time where I was not putting myself first, and that's not a selfish thing, but I was willing to give, give, give, and I wasn't I wasn't able to have the time to take for myself, for my relationship with my wife, for things that I was passionate about doing because I was so focused on I have to give because I have so much to give and it really hurt me."
