Ralph is a great man of God and a tremendous blessing to the body of Christ and humanity as a whole.What do you do when you believe the lies of the enemy, after receiving a psychiatric diagnosis of a chronic drug addict, an alcoholic, and having an anti-social disorder?Jesus, Jesus, Jesus , But God!Rev. Ralph Hawthorne was born in Louisville, Mississippi. He was raised in a single parent home in Rockford, Illinois. He was the middle child of eight siblings. As a child, he remembers his mother sending them all to an AME church. They went to Sunday school occasionally.Three of Rev. Ralph’s older brothers got involved in negative, risky, and illegal behavior. They eventually became gang members.Rev. Ralph’s family lived next door to a bootlegging house. At an early age, he saw alcoholics, pimps, and hustlers. He soon picked up on all these things in his environment. At the age of nine, he started participating in illegal activity. He became a product of his environment. He defined success as living off the fat of the land and getting your hustle on.His first arrest, at the age of nine, was for stealing a lady’s purse at the laundromat. He was sent to a juvenile detention center. After being released he started stealing cars and burglarizing people. He learned how to drive from stealing cars.He had several stays at the juvenile detention center from the ages of 9-15. During one of his stays, he was placed in solitary confinement. He smuggled matches and set his mattress on fire. He was charged with arson.He was marched from juvenile detention to the county jail. After being in a holding cell for a few months, his mother, with the help of an attorney, got him released.His next encounter with law enforcement was for violating his parole. He was sent to the Illinois Youth Commission (IYC). This facility was considered a prison for young people. However, he took driving courses and obtained a driver’s license.At this facility, he met some men from Chicago belonging to organized street gangs. He learned the rules and the literature of the gangs. He dropped out of school at the age of 16 and resorted to old hustling behavior.Several years later, Rev. Ralph had multiple burglary cases. Rev. Ralph finally gained employment at the City of Rockford. However, he met a group of Italians, got a pound of weed, and left his job. At this point, he has his own apartment and now is operating a gambling house.He eventually gets into a serious relationship with someone and shuts the gambling house down. He is now employed as a store manager at a men’s clothing store. He is introduced to the controlled substance, cocaine, and now is entrenched even deeper in the life of drugs, gangs, partying, and prostitution.Rev. In this beautiful, touching episode, our beautiful sister in Christ, Rachel shares her heart's desire to reach just one person living in the margins of life. She shares her experiences with HIV+ patients, IV drug users, sex workers, the hungry, and the homeless.Rachel spreads the word of awareness, hope, dignity, and grace.She answers these questions:What are some of the systemic barriers for women of color diagnosed with HIV+ and/or sexually transmitted infections (STIs)?What are the preventative measures for high-risk groups, sex workers, from getting HIV+?Do female condoms exist? How are they used to test for the presence of fentanyl in recreational drugs like marijuana?Rachel Gallien was born and raised in Lafayette, Louisiana, the second child of six children. She was the one to keep the family in order. Therefore, she considers herself to be the sheriff of the family. Her family is very close-knit. They hold family meetings, and everything they do is in line with each other.She remembers growing up as a Catholic. She completed her First Communion and Confirmation.At the age of 25, Rachel learned a different way of religion. She started attending a Baptist church. She was in search of finding herself. She did not know who she was or what direction she was going. She was hurt and lost. She was also in an unhealthy relationship. When Rachel approached her 30s, she felt the Lord pull on her heartstrings. While at home, she started praying to the Lord to have a relationship with Him and to hear His voice clearly.Rachel remembers driving to her parents’ home and witnessing a terrible accident. While she was driving, she put her head down to change a radio station. No sooner than she looked up, she witnessed a man being hit by a car right in front of her eyes. The guy was hit so hard that his prosthesis landed in the front seat of the car that hit him. The driver of the car passed out. She had never seen anything like it before. The gentleman that was hit died. It was at that time she felt the Lord was calling her to be a nurse.Rachel then had a friend to sign her up for LPN school. She felt like that was her purpose for living and the best thing that had happened to her. Rachel has worked with hospice and people, as they enter the end of life stages. Her desire has always been to help families maintain their dignity in their latter years.Rachel is a dedicated health care professional with over two decades of experience in the nursing field. Do men know how to grieve properly?Chaplain Sy Alli was born in Farrell, Pennsylvania. He was brought up in a Christian home and attended Catholic schools. His family attended mass regularly. Chaplain Sy comes from a family of ministers.Chaplain Sy has a degree in criminal justice. He is also degreed in religious studies and chaplaincy. He has led many lives, including United States Air Force, being declared a European Powerlifting Champ, actor, working as a professional wrestler, employed as a university lecturer and hired as a dignitary protection specialist.Sy currently resides in Carmel, California where he is a site success manager with Elevo Learning. He is a youth coach and mentor and works with at-risk youths. He also ministers to several personal care homes in Monterey.Sy served in the Air Force on two military stints. One lasted seven years and the other one lasted four years. He was a professional wrestler for 15 years. He suffered many concussions and trauma.After the passing of his father, the passing of his father-in-law, and a divorce after 20 year of marriage, Sy struggled personally. Sy battled depression and life-threatening PTSD. He also attempted suicide.Sy surrendered his life to the Lord in 2020, after being pulled over and arrested for a DUI.Chaplain Sy is a father of three adult kids; Tasha Nycole, Samaria Hope and Sy Alli IV. He also has one granddaughter, Joiee Wray Kenny. Chaplain Sy is the author of the book, Out of the Storm.Sy’s story is of interest to all as mental health has been thrust to the forefront of our society! We exalt the name of JESUS!The Old Testament scripture, Isaiah 45:22-23, speaks to the powerful message ​of Yahweh’s supremacy. It is the same supremacy conferred upon Jesus Christ in the New Testament scriptures in Philippians 2:10-11.It is to Jesus Christ all knees will bow, and tongues will confess Jesus Christ is Lord. In Hebrew, in Greek, in English and every other language all means all!Jesus Christ is Lord! Jesus is God! Jesus is Yahweh!The Word of God is absolute truth. It is infallible and irrefutable! We believe the Word of God! God cannot lie. He said it, we believe His Word, and that settles it!So then, this is a no brainer. Is anyone in this world exempt from bowing to the Lordship of Jesus Christ?When we die, can we alter what we believe while we were alive? After death, is it too late for salvation for a non-believer?Will those who have died and rejected Christ bend their knee in honor and respect to Jesus Christ? Will they open up their eyes in hell, and shout that Jesus Christ is Lord?What is the most relevant, important subject we can talk about today?What is the main purpose in life for every believer?Tomorrow is not promised to us. We pray for salvation for the lost on this day. As a young child, Donna remembers her grandmother taking care of them.Later in life, due to a job transfer, Donna moved to Houston, Texas. She was working as a branch manager in a financial institution.Donna began attending a local church in Houston and made some great friends. In 2014, Donna had a major turn in her life. She was involved in a serious accident. It happened around the same time her mom passed. After enduring three hospitalizations, several surgeries for blood clots in the heart and brain, by God’s great grace, Donna continued to fully recover. She secured a new apartment and a new position at a swim school.Donna was never really close to her family and had minimal communication with them. He has made, and is still making, a great impact in the kingdom of God!The Lord has brought him through many painful experiences from an infant to an adult. He said those experiences that should have killed him just made him stronger.Reverend Ernest Gaines is a six-generation sharecropper’s son from Oscar, Louisiana. He is the oldest of eleven children. Reverend Ernest recalls his early life, starting with his childhood in Louisiana. His father disowned him. When he was about four or five months old, his father tried to kill him. His relationship with his father for years was filled with pain and rejection. It was only by God’s grace when he moved away from his father’s house in the late 1960s to Vallejo, California to live with his grandmother. His grandmother was a Christian. They regularly attended church and Sunday school. This was a place made legendary to him as a child. Reverend Ernest graduated from Vallejo Senior High School and attended Solano, Napa Valley, and UC Davis Colleges. He is retired from Napa Valley College.Reverend Ernest gave his life to Christ in 1997 and received his Certification of Ordination as a Deacon on July 3, 1998, from Liberty Missionary Baptist Church Vallejo, California. Reverend Ernest started the Brotherhood and Sisterhood Ministry and worked in the Finance Office.Reverend Ernest resettled back to his roots in 2002 to Glynn, Louisiana where he attended Second Baptist Church and continued his work as a deacon.He relocated back to California with his wife Lorraine pending her retirement.Reverend Ernest became a licensed and ordained Minister and worked the Jail Ministry at Solano County Jail, Fairfield, California.Reverend Ernest started attending Lift Bible College while at Mt Calvary M.B.C. working as a Minister with Pastor Fred Harper. He started the Good News Club, a weekly after school Christian program at Orange Grove Elementary School. He is the second oldest child. Michael grew up practicing the Catholic faith. As a young man, Michael would pray daily. He accepted the moral teachings of Catholicism and attended mass regularly on Sundays with his family. Michael surrendered his life to the Lord in high school. He is a devout Christian.It was during Michael’s high school Sociology class he realized he wanted to work with people with mental illness. He pursued his college education, obtained an associate degree in behavioral science, and a bachelor’s degree in general studies.Michael’s first job in the health care industry was in the medical records department. Shortly thereafter, he began to have patient contact. Michael developed a passion for working with people. He later secured a position in a psychiatric hospital working with children, adolescents, and adults. He later felt it was a better fit for him to work with adults with chemical dependency and mental illness, since he did not have any children.Michael’s first job in the health care industry was in the medical records department. We are so excited!!! The Lord has blessed us with an opportunity to interview a beautiful, blessed young woman of God. Her name is Leah Crawford! Leah shares her heartfelt, sincere, and powerful testimony with us.! Leah Crawford was born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio. She is the youngest of three siblings. Leah spent a lot of time with her grandparents. She was raised in the church. As a youth, she served on the usher board and sang in the youth choir. She was brought up in a strict religious household. She was not allowed to wear pants. Leah came into the knowledge of Jesus Christ at a very young age. In spite of the dark times and situations she experienced as a child, Leah remembers praying, and knowing without a doubt that she was covered by the Lord. She always felt God’s protection, comfort, and she knew she never felt alone. She also knew to depend and call upon the name of the Lord.Leah had some health challenges as a child. She was diagnosed with mitral valve prolapse. She became pregnant at the age of 16 and was told she was at high risk. Her heart had to be monitored.She had two subsequent pregnancies and has four beautiful girls to include a set of twins.At the age of 24, Leah’s faith was shaken. She experienced a family crisis, heartache, and pain. Her grandmother passed away in September 2005. After her grandmother’s passing, Leah needed a fresh start. She then relocated and moved to Houston, Texas.Leah pursued a real estate career while in Houston and has over 15 years of experience in the Houston market. Elrich is a Christian author who seeks to honor the Trinity in her writing. She hopes that her words will encourage women to draw closer to God, whether that is through her fantasy series or her weekly devotionals.M.H. Elrich was raised in a Christian home. She was saved at the age of eight while attending Vacation Bible School. Two years later, she was baptized, and as a child had a simple, wonderful faith. In her teenage years, however, M.H. wrestled with God. She struggled with the spirit of perfectionism and tried to be the perfect Christian. However, like all of us, she kept messing up. Her self-esteem was very low, and she began to believe the lies of the enemy that God did not love or forgive her. As she sought the Lord and knowledge of the Holy Spirit, her perspective changed. The Holy Spirit began to work on her heart. Quite often, she would fast and pray.Once she understood the true biblical concept about forgiveness, it changed her life forever. She knew then without a doubt that Jesus loves her.Later, as an adult, the Lord placed a wonderful man in her life. She and her husband have been happily married for 10 years. In her spare time, she watches T.V. with her husband, rides horses, and travels to places with lots of trees.She is a teacher by profession. In this beautiful, truly touching episode, Minister Rosemary Butler shares her heart and her vision the Lord gave her for the Titus Women Ministry, a homeless shelter for women and children. This one will pull at your heart strings!She shares what she saw on the streets of downtown Houston that broke her heart for God’s daughters.She also shares a beautiful success story of one of her homeless residents. Minister Rosemary Butler was born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana. She had four siblings, two brothers and two sisters. She now has only one living sister. She was raised Roman Catholic and attended Catholic schools up to the sixth grade. She gave birth to two daughters and one son. One daughter is now with the Lord.Minister Rosemary worked at Houston Independent School District as a school nurse at Bellaire High School. She was awarded the prestigious position of the district, First School Nurse of the Year award in 1991-1992. She was later promoted to a Nurse Consultant where she worked with other nurses in a state funded program titled Pregnancy Related Services. The program was designed to bring an undeveloped plan to fully developed plans for all pregnant and parenting students.  She retired from the Houston Independent School District Department of Health and Medical Services in 2007.Rosemary remembers her conversion to Christ. She was experiencing depression from walking in disobedience and doing her own thing. The Lord touched her, and she gave her life to Christ.Minister Rosemary has always been involved in church. She started a food pantry called Our Daily Bread and served in Sunday school. She serves in the prayer and discipleship ministries. She received her ministerial license from Straightway Church in Hempstead, Texas, and her ordination from Redeemed Life Temple of Worship in Waller, Texas.Minister Rosemary started a faith based nonprofit organization in 2006 called the Titus Women Ministry. Titus Women Ministry is affiliated with the Elohim Kingdom Builders Epicenter.The Titus Ministry was started after Rosemary’s mom passed. They were very close. She sat on the porch and asked the Lord,“What am I supposed to do?" The Lord led her to have a sleepover at her home. She is the youngest of 13 children. Her mother died when she was just 3 months old. Her oldest sister was barely 13 when she was thrust into the role of caregiver for the younger children, while working in the cotton fields of rural Mississippi and attending school whenever she could. Kathleen’s father was a gambler. When he was unable to pay his gambling debts, he used his own daughters as payment.Kathleen was raised by her aunt and was molested by her aunt’s husband as a regular way of life from kindergarten to the age of 13. Once the abuse came to light, at the age of thirteen, Kathleen was ordered by the courts to live with an older sister. By the age of 15, Kathleen had been sent to live with three different sisters in three different states, sent to juvenile detention 3 times, became homeless, and lived in 2 group homes.Kathleen has always been involved in church. She received salvation at the age of eleven. Kathleen started her ministry at the age of 26 on the buses and trains of Chicago. She has served in church leadership in women’s ministry, youth ministry, and evangelism. She received her ministerial license from Living Word Christian Center in Chicago and her pastoral license from Our Hope Community Church in Indianapolis, In.Kathleen has earned a bachelor’s in organizational leadership. In this wonderful, exciting episode, Kari shares her testimony of a rare blood cancer and how prayer and the Psalms changed her life forever.She shares what the Lord revealed to her personally and to her prayer group as they immersed themselves in prayer and the book of Psalms. What happens when we pray and use the language the Lord has given us in His Word?Kari Rivadeneira was raised in Des Moines, Iowa. She has two older brothers and one younger sister. Kari grew up in a denominational church. Her theology growing up was that God was distant and mad at her. Kari hated herself and oftentimes felt isolated. She struggled with eating disorders and bipolarism for almost 15 years. While in high school, Kari played basketball. She was highly performance driven and always felt that she was not good enough.  Her aspiration in life was to become a professional basketball player. During Kari’s college years, she tried to commit suicide. She had a short stay in a mental facility. Kari was also sexually molested by one of her coaches.Kari later discovered she had two herniated discs and one bulging disc. Depression sank in and her doctor warned her that if she continued in the sport, she would never walk again. At the time, Kari’s identity was all about being good at what you did. But after the back issues, her dreams were shattered.Upon graduation, Kari was hired as a professional fitness trainer. It was there at Fitness World West that she met her husband, Ramiro. She and her husband moved to Texas. They have two daughters, Abigale and Makayla. They are active members at the Dwelling Place Church. Kari was attending an In-Home Bible Study when she got saved. She knew that the Holy Spirit was real in her life.Kari is the author of two books, What I Wish I Would Have Known About Prayer and Psallo: A Psalms Devotional Journey. She is the founder of Light & Truth prayer ministry. During the next few years, he read several hundred books on the subject of personal growth. At the age of 30, Rev. Christian became a professional Motivational Speaker and Executive Trainer. Over the next 20 years he would deliver more than 2,500 presentations to private and public audiences across America and Canada. Several years ago, Rev. Christian retired as a public speaker after feeling the Holy Spirit redirecting his life. He was led to do what Jesus told him many years earlier. He purposed in his heart to get a solid foundation in the Word of God. He committed to Sunday school attendance to learn more about the Bible. He began to grow in His walk with the Lord. The Lord led Joey in 1981 to accept a job offer in Austin, Texas. He later retired after 39 years of employment.Joey has taught the Word of God to adults and children in various ministries since 1982. Lord Jesus, help us!Dr. Joy Oche, DNP, PMH, NP was born in Nigeria and raised in London. Joy comes from a large family. She is the oldest daughter of ten children. As a child, she was brought up in a Christian home.  She was raised in the church.  Her family attended church, youth groups, and home Bible study regularly.  She looked forward to home Bible Study every Sunday and mid-week. She was the only child that went to Bible study.    She remembers at about the age of eight or nine she fell gravely sick. The doctors were worried and whispered about her medical condition. Her parents were contacted.She remembers that she could not move her legs. While in the hospital, she said a prayer. Her prayer was Lord if you heal me, I will live for you and serve you. However, as soon as she called upon the name of the Lord, she started getting better. The doctors were amazed at her progress. There was no medicine that could heal her.  She eventually was able to walk home.Joy made her way to the United States as an adult to join her husband. They too raised their children in church.Joy’s career in the United States began as a Certified Nursing Assistant even though she had a Bachelor‘s degree in Communications. She eventually went on to obtain her Associate Degree in Nursing, Master’s degree in Psychiatric Mental Health, and a Doctor of Nursing Practice.Joy currently works as a Professor at Texas Lutheran University, and she is the CEO of I am Us Together as a dedicated Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner.  She combines her extensive nursing expertise with a heart for helping others. With many years of experience working with a diverse range of mental health conditions, Joy offers more than just symptom management. She partners with her patients to explore the root causes of their struggles, helping them regain a sense of balance and peace in their lives.
