Lord have mercy! Bonnie Hopkins was born and raised in a small town in Arkansas. Bonnie is the only girl and the oldest child. She has four siblings. Her dad served in the Navy and traveled a lot. Bonnie and her mother lived with her grandparents. She was very close to her grandparents. They lived a distance from the local church. It was about two to three miles. They attended services periodically, and they had to walk to church.At the age of five, the family moved to another community in Arkansas. They joined the church, and this is where she received her Christian foundation. She served as an usher, sang in the choir, and taught Baptist Training Union (BTU) classes for the children. Bonnie attended college at Arkansas AMN College and received her bachelor’s degree. After receiving her undergraduate degree, she left Arkansas and moved to Dallas, Texas. Bonnie was later transferred with her job to Houston, Texas where she settled and stayed in her career until retirement. Bonnie is a mother, grandmother, godmother, prayer intercessor, encourager, teacher, mentor, helper, friend, and author.Bonnie’s plans after retirement did not include writing. However, surprisingly, every path led to writing. God’s plan prevailed when she eventually realized He was calling her into a writing ministry, and her first book was accepted by the very first publisher she contacted.Bonnie writes from a foundation of Christian principles, life experiences and observations. Her books are filled with dramatic, realistic, relevant and familiar life issues. Readers are blessed and guided by the scripture references and prayers that enable characters to conquer their issues. In this most powerful episode, after years of seeking the Lord through prayer and worship, Kari shares her beautiful life journey with us. She shares how she got delivered from the addictive cycles of bulimia and bipolarism and how the tangible presence of God transformed her life.Have you gotten the revelation that God has already accepted you and deeply loves you? Kari Rivadeneira was raised in Des Moines, Iowa. She has two older brothers and one younger sister. Kari grew up in a denominational church. Her theology growing up was that God was distant and mad at her. Kari hated herself and oftentimes felt isolated. She struggled with eating disorders and bipolarism for almost 15 years. While in high school, Kari played basketball. She was highly performance driven and always felt that she was not good enough.  Her aspiration in life was to become a professional basketball player. During Kari’s college years, she tried to commit suicide. She had a short stay in a mental facility. Kari was also sexually molested by one of her coaches.Kari later discovered she had two herniated discs and one bulging disc. Depression sank in and her doctor warned her that if she continued in the sport, she would never walk again. At the time, Kari’s identity was all about being good at what you did. But after the back issues, her dreams were shattered.Upon graduation, Kari was hired as a professional fitness trainer. It was there at Fitness World West that she met her husband, Ramiro. She and her husband moved to Texas. They have two beautiful girls, Abigale and Makayla. They are active members at the Dwelling Place Church. Kari was attending an In-Home Bible Study when she got saved. She knew that the Holy Spirit was real in her life.Kari is the author of the book, What I Wish I Would Have Known About Prayer. She is the founder of Light & Truth prayer ministry. What is an emotional leak?What do you do when your mom dies on your 29th birthday and your daughter is born, one year later, on the day you bury your mom? My God! My God!How do you handle unprocessed grief and emotional trauma?Sonja Brenham was born and raised in Dallas, Texas. She is the youngest of two siblings. She grew up in a Christian home with her mother as the head of household. The family on her mom's side were gifted gospel singers. She remembers attending several concertsAt 18 years of age, her mom gave her the permission to find her own church to attend. When she returned home from college after graduation, she started going to her mom’s church again. But, something was missing. So, her high school friend invited her to her church which was the Inspiring Body of Christ Church (IBOC). This is where Sonja got baptized, rededicated her life, served in the choir, and learned more about Christ. About three years thereafter, Sonja met her daughter, Kyra's father and became pregnant.Meanwhile, her mom became very ill and eventually died on Sonja's 29th birthday.Sonja has an undergraduate degree in Business and Marketing and a master’s degree in Counseling and Leadership from Prairie View A&M University. She is also a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) with the State of Texas. Her mission is to meet her clients where they are and to encourage them through challenging moments on this journey called life. In this most exciting episode, Reverend Terry Christian joined us to share his life’s journey with us.Reverend Christian was born in Mansfield, Ohio. Since dedicating his life to Jesus at the age of 23, he has been reading the red lettered version of the four Gospels as recorded in the KJV Bible. Even though Rev. Christian reads the whole Bible, his primary focus is on the words of Jesus and the example of His actions.Rev. Christian grew up in a violent dysfunctional family where he quit school at 16 and left home. He stuttered so bad he could not say five words in a row. His family and friends mocked him, causing much stress in his early life.At the age of 23, Rev. Christian had a near death experience in which he had a dream. In this dream, he was told that one day he would be a teacher for Jesus. Needless to say, he was scared at first because of his stuttering and lack of structured education. However, he always had a childlike faith and trust in Jesus as Lord. After the dream, he was soon hired by the Dale Carnegie Organization and trained in sales and public speaking. While at the Dale Carnegie Organization, he met a man who taught him how to visually read. During the next few years, he read several hundred books on the subject of personal growth. At the age of 30, Rev. Christian became a professional Motivational Speaker and Executive Trainer. Over the next 20 years he would deliver more than 2,500 presentations to private and public audiences across America and Canada. Several years ago, Rev. Christian retired as a public speaker after feeling the Holy Spirit redirecting his life. He was led to do what Jesus told him many years earlier. In this explosive, power-packed episode, Maureen shares the truth of God's Word about spiritual warfare.Maureen Broderson is an Author, Teacher, Trainer and Speaker. Shortly after Maureen and her husband Lance were married, at the recommendation of the pastor who married them, they set out to find a church where they would attend together. Maureen’s aunt referred them to her nearby church. They filled out a “Visitor’s Connection Card” on their first Sunday morning, and just a few days later, a couple from the church appeared at their door. Maureen and Lance happily welcomed them in. Their guests clearly and lovingly shared God’s message of salvation, and in their living room that evening, Maureen and Lance prayed and received Jesus as their Lord and Savior. In Part 2 of this wonderful, touching episode, Doretha Daniels share her life’s challenges after the onset of paralysis. After going through a divorce and a lengthy hospitalization, the Lord gives her beauty for ashes. Every opportunity the Lord gave her she willing and openly shared the love of God by serving and helping others.  Doretha’s life started out so beautifully. She was raised in a loving Christian home. Her parents were educators and graduates of Prairie View A & M University. They were considered middle class and could afford to send Doretha to take private piano lessons. Doretha was baptized, later confirmed, sang in the Junior choir, played the piano at two United Methodist churches and one summer taught music at vacation bible school. She also served as a girl's scout.Doretha believed she was a good person and thought that she could earn her way to salvation, eternal life, and to heaven.At the time and according to society's standards, she thought she was living her best life!  She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science with honors from Prairie View A& M University. She was hired as a Programmer Analyst with Shell. Two and a half years later she got married. Her husband was a Mechanical Engineer.  They had their first son and two months or so later she became a stay-at-home mom. They quickly adjusted to her husband’s income. Life was great!Then one night at the age of 31 while sitting on the edge of the bed she felt her muscles relaxing and she could no longer sit up. In this clear biblical teaching, we are encouraged and learn from God's Word that we have an "Unbroken Bond and Nothing Can Separate Us from the Love of God", which is Christ Jesus our Lord! In this beautiful episode, Marin Canaday blesses our souls as she shares her own life’s challenges and struggles with mental health. Marin Canaday is a successful Christian author. She has written two children’s picture books. Marin was born and raised in Clovis, California. She grew up in a loving Christian home with two believing parents. They went to church every Sunday and midweek for AWANAS and youth groups. She made a commitment to Christ when she was six or seven years old. As a child, Marin remembers having intensive intrusive thoughts revolving around behaving just right. Just one little mistake would send her into a tailspin of shame and despair. These bouts would last for months to even years. No one had any idea as to what she was struggling with at the time.   During junior high, her mind was bombarded with obsessive thoughts concerning germs. She thought her germs would kill someone. She was uncomfortable being in close proximity to people. An accidental bump or nudge would send her cringing and apologizing because she thought the person may die from her germs. These thoughts persisted for about a year. Most of her struggle was on the inside. It was a war going on in her mind.  During high school, those intrusive thoughts continued to invade her mind. They were never clearly identified or associated with mental illness. It just appeared that she was a worry wart. She found relief from these unwanted, intrusive thoughts through sports and studying. She threw herself into both with great passion.  In spite of it all, Marin’s loving family did their best to support her without knowing exactly what was causing her struggles.Marin graduated with honors from high school and college. She excelled in volleyball, winning a national championship with Fresno Pacific University in her senior year. She later married the love of her life and gave birth to three beautiful girls.  She worked in the teaching profession with children with special learning needs for five years.And then, at the age of 30, in the worst way possible those unwanted, intrusive thoughts came back with a vengeance during her adult life. Her world came to a screeching halt.What do you do when you are fighting a war, as Marin describes, with half of your brain? In this motivational and inspirational teaching, we learn many powerful lessons from the Prophet Habakkuk.   He teaches us what it means to have a real encounter with God. Scripture reveals In Habakkuk 3:16, that during the Prophet's encounter, his belly trembled, his lips quivered at God's voice, and rottenness entered into his bones. Scripture also declares he trembled in himself. He stood in awe of the majesty and greatness of God.  The Lord revealed Himself to the Prophet in all His glory and splendor. After the Prophet encounters the Lord, his life is changed forever. He is never the same again. He sees life’s challenges and struggles through the eyes of the Lord.  He is no longer focusing on the pain, suffering, corruption, or the many crises that are going on around him.  He is not complaining any longer, even though the circumstances might get worse before they get better.In our scripture text, Habakkuk 3:18-19, the Prophet teaches us to put our trust in the Lord God. He teaches us to have an unwavering faith in the Lord. He teaches us that the Lord gives us His joy, His deliverance, His rest, and His strength. In this beautiful episode, M. H. Elrich joins us to share her life's journey as a true Kingdom Disciple for Jesus Christ. She is a successful Christian fantasy author and teacher.M.H. Elrich was raised in a Christian home. She was saved at the age of eight while attending Vacation Bible School. Two years later, she was baptized, and as a child had a simple, wonderful faith. In her teenage years, however, M.H. wrestled with God. She struggled with the spirit of perfectionism and tried to be the perfect Christian.  However, like all of us, she kept messing up. Her self-esteem was very low, and she began to believe the lies of the enemy that God did not love or forgive her. As she sought the Lord and knowledge of the Holy Spirit, her perspective changed.  The Holy Spirit began to work on her heart. Quite often, she would fast and pray.  Once she understood the true biblical concept about forgiveness, it changed her life forever. She knew then without a doubt that Jesus loves her.   Later, as an adult, the Lord placed a wonderful man in her life. Tyler was brought up in a loving Christian home and attended Christian schools. He started attending public schools in high school. During his sophomore year of high school, his family moved to the East Coast. In his senior year, at the age of 17, his oldest daughter was born.Tyler is now happily married to Kate, and they have 2 children together. He works for the local government as the Deputy Director overseeing construction and development.Tyler remembers moving from Texas to the East Coast as a huge culture shock in many ways. It led him down a path of searching for his identity. Although his parents sent him to public schools, they had difficulty navigating the public school system. Tyler did not fit into his peers' stereotypical mold of a black child because of his upbringing and Christian education. In Texas, he never had many physical conflicts or fights. On the East Coast, things took a drastic turn.Tyler's biggest concern was death threats and his peers' use of a social media platform, MySpace, showing guns and other dangerous activity. That was considered a norm.As time went by, Tyler connected with people at the church. Some had a bad reputation; eventually, these associations led him to participate in criminal activity. As a teenager, because her mother did not drive, Amethyst could not participate in many extracurricular activities. She was somewhat restricted. Amethyst had a lot of free time on her hands, and it was not long before her “idle mind became the devil’s workshop.” She met a young man that she had no business knowing or spending time with. Before long, she had developed deep feelings for him and fell head over heels. It was very loving at times, and it was very challenging at times. They were married for 28 years, and the Lord taught her and helped her, to accept the bitter with the sweet.One Sunday afternoon, George, was faced with his first health challenges.  He had a stroke and heart attack.Two years thereafter, he started developing flu-like symptoms.  After extensive tests and x-rays, he was diagnosed with small cell lung cancer.Min.
