Alexis Salaman, co-founder of education nonprofit organisation Youth Potential South Africa spoke about Little Free Library. Little Free Libraries with about 90,000 globally, are tiny wooden boxes filled with books.

We were joined in studio by Happy Sekele, grade 11 pupil from Stanza Bopape in Mamelodi, and Cwenga Dilata from Aurora Girls High in Soweto. They both participated in the Kgalema Motlanthe Foundation’s “AI in Africa” Bootcamps which aim to prepare youth for the workplace of the future, by merging artificial intelligence skills with social values, ethics and creative thinking.

Simon Attwell (banjo), Julio Sigauque (bass) and Congolese lead singer Chris Bakalanga (guitar), together with South African drummer Unity Mzi form part of a band known as Congo Cowboys. The band joined us in studio to talk about their music which draws on the foot stomping qualities of Bluegrass & Country, reimagined through Kwassa Kwassa African rhythms and Soukous guitar.
