Additionally, we’ll talk about how MSNBC host Joy Ann Reid’s anti-Bernie bias is impacting her coverage of the 2020 presidential election, and we’ll look at an even more despicable example of pundit stupidity plaguing Fox News’ Sean Hannity. It’s a gigantic episode that covers a broad range of topics… enjoy!

Apr 19, 20182h 29m

Episode 138: The Militarism Of Donald J. Trump

E

Just days after Trump signaled an end to the United States’ role in Syria, he’s seemingly moved away from that position entirely after news broke that another chemical attack occurred in Syria, with fingers pointing towards Assad again by neoconservative warmongers. To recap, last week there was a sign Trump would opt for a new hands-off approach with regard to our stance towards Syria, and now we’re on the cusp of further escalation there, which has broader implications with respect to U.S.-Russia tensions as well. Additionally, Trump reportedly asked a CIA official why a drone didn’t strike a house filled with innocent civilians. This is a new level of disregard for human life by a president, where civilians are now literally being targeted by the Commander-in-Chief. We’ll tackle these topics in this episode and also discuss smears against Bernie Sanders, net neutrality in Oregon, the Oklahoma teachers strike, Flint’s current water situation, and Kamala Harris’ refusal to reject corporate cash. It’s not the funnest news cycle, but hopefully you’ll find it enlightening anyway. Enjoy the show!

We’ll then turn to the aftermath of the #MarchForOurLives protests wherein Republican politicians and pundits ruthlessly attacked the childern and teenagers that marched for gun reform. Additionally, we’ll talk about the CLOUD Act, Bernie Sanders’ resolution to stop Saudi’s atrocities in Yemen, Stephon Clark, net neutrality, health insurance companies that are buying off corporate Democrats, and changes to YouTube’s algorithm that’s hurting independent creators. It’s not too fun of an episode, but we’ve got you covered on some of the most important stories that broke this week. Enjoy the show!

Episode 133: Dempublicans

E

Our new studio is in the process of being built, but political news stories don’t wait for NOBODY, so we’re filming in front of a wall to bring you news about how the Democratic Party has officially stopped trying to pretend that they’re progressive; we’ll discuss how the DCCC is attacking progressive candidates, Nancy Pelosi’s endorsement of a right-wing Democrat, Blue Dog Democrats that voted to deregulate Wall Street with their Republican friends in the Senate, and how one disgraced congressman—who already announced his retirement—might not leave politics altogether. We’ll also provide you with a net neutrality update, details about the West Virginia teachers’ strike, and Trump’s harmful policies that’s hurting American citizens. Episode 132: The New McCarthyism

E

In this edition of The Humanist Report, we take a moment to throw a bucket of cold water on politicians and pundits who are going bonkers over Robert Mueller’s indictments. We’ll also talk about the Parkland, Florida tragedy and share stories from students, along with ways they’ve turned tragedy into activism. Also in this episode we’ll discuss both left-wing and right-wing SJWs, Mitt Romney’s senate campaign, Dennis Kucinich’s gubernatorial campaign, net neutrality, the FCC’s investigation into Ajit Pai, and more! Enjoy the show, folks!

Episode 131: Combatting Conservatism

E

In this edition of The Humanist Report, we shine a light on President Trump’s morally bankrupt priorities by examining his new fiscal budget proposal. He’s choosing to prop up our bloated military budget and funnel money to private religious schools while simultanesouly slashing funding for social safety net programs like medicare, medicaid, social security, HIV funding, and more. Additionally, cuts to these programs will help fund tax cuts passed in late 2017 for the wealthiest Americans in the country. We’ll also talk about Trump’s vision for students burdened with loan debt; he wants to screw them over even more in a number of ways, and make debt even more troublesome for future borrowers. So we’ll talk Trumpian policy priorities and update viewers about progress we’re making on net neutrality. These topics—and more—are covered in this episode. Enjoy the show!

Episode 130: Trump is Playing Americans

E

In this edition of The Humanist Report podcast, we shine a spotlight on the games Trump is playing on Americans. After a relentless corporate PR campaign, Americans are being told that one-time $1,000 bonuses from corporations suggests trickle-down economics works well for average workers (spoiler: it doesn’t). So we’ll tackle the misconception that Trump’s tax reform plan is good for normal, non-wealthy Americans, we’ll discuss the benefits of universal healthcare and the backlash Trump received from citizens in the UK after he attacked their National Health System. Additionally, we’ll talk about the influence Trump’s donors have on him, the “evidence” Ajit Pai is giving us to prove that his repeal of net neutrality is beneficial, and New Jersey’s enforcement of net neutrality. Also, we’ll tackle the Democratic Party’s ongoing cheating of progressives and shielding of corporate Democrats. All of these topics—and THEN some—are covered in this episode. Enjoy!

Episode 129: Democrats Only Resist Progressives

E

In this edition of The Humanist Report we’ll discuss an inconvenient truth about the Democratic Party: they’re only good at resisting insofar as that pertains to blocking progressives from electoral victories. We’ll talk about potential shenanigans that may occur in 2020 if Bernie Sanders decides to run again and how the Democratic Party establishment is shunning progressive candidates that don’t raise large sums of money from multinational corporations and billionaires. Additionally, Senate Democrats caved again, and DREAMers are now only relying on House Democrats to save them. Finally, we’ll talk about net neutrality and tell you what’s new and before the show ends, Amy Vilela will drop by to give us an update on her campaign. All of these topics are covered here—enjoy!

Episode 128: A Guide to Resisting Trump… the RIGHT Way

E

There’s a lot of individuals and institutions that claim to be card-carrying members of the #Resistance; however, they’re not actually doing anything to resist President Trump in a meaningful way. Democrats in Congress recently showed once again that they have no courage to stand up to Trump and the Republicans, and the media does nothing more than focus on Trump’s flubbs (and couldn’t care less about policy). What does this all amount to? A political situation where a right-wing extremist party has free reign to do anything they want with little to no checks on their authority. Also in this episode we’ll discuss Paul Ryan’s corruption, victories over the FCC, a poll that debunks the ‘Bernie Bro’ myth, U.S. foreign policy, and YouTube’s decision to demonetize small creators. All of these topics—and then some—are covered in this edition of the program. Enjoy the show!
