Additionally we’ll discuss Joe Biden’s failing campaign, student loan debt cancellation, Amy Klobuchar’s supporters, the U.K. election, and more. We’ll close the show by talking to 2020 congressional candidate Zina Spezakis.

As Donald Trump’s brain continues to turn to mush and melt out of his ears, he’s also getting increasingly evil (sad!)—not that those two things are correlated. We’ll talk about how he opposes even the most milquetoast reform on lowering prescription drug costs. Billionaire Michael Bloomberg is jumping in the 2020 race to capitalize on Joe Biden’s (likely) failure, and Bernie Sanders had a strong welcoming message for him: you’re not going to buy this election. On top of that the spouse of a billionaire attempted to send Bernie Sanders a $470 check, but he returned it, making him the only candidate in the race to remain untainted by billionaire money. On top of Bernie’s battles with billionaires we’ll talk about the U.S.-backed military coup in Bolivia, Trump Jr., Joe Biden’s CNN Town Hall, Trump’s impeachment hearing, mainstream media’s bias, Dave Rubin, and more. Finally, we’ll close the show by talking to 2020 congressional candidate Heidi Sloan who’s running in Texas’ 25th congressional district.

The mainstream media is trying to erase Bernie Sanders. They’ve hated him since 2015—we’ve been dealing with this for four years now—but this time their attempts to bury his campaign are so brazen and conspicuous it can no longer NOT be called out by everyone. This includes people who don’t support Bernie Sanders, but are concerned with fairness and objectivity and realize this may one day harm a candidate they support in the future. If you want to beat Donald Trump in 2020, it’s important to recognize that Bernie Sanders is our best bet. Rashida Tlaib knows this, and she officially endorsed Bernie Sanders. On top of that Ilhan Omar correctly pointed out that a Biden or Buttigieg nomination would be “tragic” likely because she knows this would facilitate another Trump victory. Even non-political figures like ATL-based Rapper T.I. knows Bernie can win because he’s the “antithesis” of Donald Trump. The writing is on the wall: Bernie can beat Donald Trump. We’ll zero in on that discussion in this episode and also talk about Bill Maher’s spin of Bernie’s ‘Squad’ endorsements, Trump at the World Series, Buttigieg’s problem attracting black voters, support for Medicare For All, and also Fox News’ criticism of Democrats that fly in airplanes (again). Hillary Clinton… Jill Stein… Tulsi Gabbard… Bernie Sanders… 2016 is back! Hillary Clinton makes a not-so-triumphant return to smear Tulsi Gabbard and Jill Stein, which catalyzed a national conversation (for the millionth time) about 2016 election and who—besides Hillary, of course—is to blame. So, here’s the thing, 2016—like it or not—will be an election year we’re going to continue to discuss for the foreseeable future; so if we’re going to relive it, let’s actually change the outcome this time. Let’s get Bernie Sanders elected! And while we’re on the subject of 2016, we’ll talk to Debbie Wasserman Schultz’s new primary challenger, Jen Perelman, about her campaign to oust one of the most corrupt members of Congress.

Bernie is back, and he’s stronger than ever. He returns to the campaign trail with an all-new proposal—The Corporate Accountability Act—and picked up some crucial endorsements from members of The Squad (Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Ilhan Omar, and Rashida Tlaib); and on top of that, he absolutely crushed it at the debate. We’ll talk about all of that and explain why Elizabeth Warren isn’t as trustworthy on Medicare For All as Bernie. We’ll talk about Pete Buttigieg’s decision to sell his soul to the health insurance industry, reparations, Trump’s bizarre letter to Erdogan, and for some reason, we’ll talk about Amy Klobuchar quite a bit in this episode, and more. They may marginally outflank him from the left on particular issues here and there, but he’s the most well-rounded ideologically, class conscious, grassroots funded, movement minded candidate that’s unquestionably best for the left. This is a fight for our lives—literally—and he’s made it clear he’s going to implement a transformative agenda that could get us on the trajectory of social democracy, so if we want to beat the establishment, uniting behind him is a no brainer. So on that note, we’ll talk about Bernie’s plan to curb CEO pay, how he’s now the only candidate in the race that supports a single-payer, Medicare For All system (and hasn’t wavered on it), and we’ll talk about how his LGBTQIA+ policies would change the lives of millions of Americans. Additionally, we’ll discuss Botham Jean, net neutrality, Trump’s unraveling, and we’ll close the show by talking to 2020 congressional candidate Justin Bonner.

Ilhan Omar broke a cardinal rule in Washington D.C. this week: she criticized AIPAC’s influence on politicians. The aftermath was a total meltdown by members of both parties in Congress over her comment supposedly being “anti-semitic,” with calls for apologies and resignations dominating political discourse this week. The reality, however, is that she’s absolutely right about their influence on politicians. We can say that and also acknowledge the need to protect the Jewish people—not to be confused with the pro-Israel lobbying firm, AIPAC—from actual instances of hate and bigotry (which is often perpetuated by the very individuals that were quick to call her out, ironically). Additionally, we’ll talk about Trump’s hot take on climate change, Howard Schultz’s CNN town hall, Ro Khanna’s defense of net neutrality, Tulsi Gabbard’s progressive foreign policy vision, a new warning from scientists about diminishing insect populations, and more.

The current crop of 2020 Democratic Party presidential contenders—for the most part—all seem to support Bernie Sanders’ Medicare for All proposal, but whenever they’re pushed on specific details, they’re inadvertently revealing that they’re not actually serious about it. Sherrod Brown flat out just doesn’t support it, Elizabeth Warren—like Kamala Harris—suddenly supports “many paths” to Medicare for All, Cory Booker won’t get rid of the filibuster in order to fight for it, and Howard Schultz… well, he’s Howard Schultz. We’ll talk about why Bernie Sanders is the only 2020 candidate that’s serious about getting Medicare for All. Additionally, we’ll talk about the net neutrality legal battle, Michael Moore’s take on 2020, Trump’s endorsement of religion in schools, and more!

All throughout the week we’ve been bombarded by smugness and condescension from some of the wealthiest elites in the world; starting at the WEC in Davos, where billionaires laughed at the idea of a 70% marginal tax rate. To top things off, former Starbucks CEO Howard Schultz floated the idea of a “centrist independent” presidential run in 2020; and on top of that, him and his friend (another billionaire) Michael Bloomberg teamed up to tell the peasants we can’t have Medicare for All. It’s time we eat the rich.

Multiple Democratic Party presidential candidates have announced their candidacy for the presidency, but along with these announcements comes revelations about their records and how “progressive” they’ve been throughout their careers, as they now pretend to be Bernie Sanders lite. So with that being said we’ll look at the past record of Kamala Harris as well as Joe Biden’s borderline extremist “tough on crime” stance he held in the late-‘80s. Additionally, we’ll talk about how Tulsi Gabbard’s campaign reached out to the show in order to lend some clarification to questions we raised in last week’s episode about her record.
