S1 Ep 5S1 Ep:5 Sophia, Divine Feminine Archetype
Join April, Harmony, and Maggie as they introduce Sophia as part of the Holy Trinity according to the ancient Gnostic Christian sect. Learn more about this hidden and ancient Goddess as Mother of all Creation and how important she is for the cultivation of the Divine Feminine in our modern culture that has been ruled by patriarchy for thousands of years. Who is Sophia? April explains that the Greek word for wisdom is Sophia. In the Gnostic interpretation of the holy Trinity, it was the father, God, the mother, Sophia, the holy spirit and the child, Jesus. The gnostics were eradicated by the Roman Emperor and their teachings were hid in the Qumran Caves for two thousand years. Sophia shows up years later in the Renaissance period, depicted as the Queen of Heaven. Sophia's modern interpretation according to Harmony is the Divine Mother of all Life even as we are shifting to accept a genderless creator with a balance between the divine masculine and the divine feminine. Sophia, the Great Mother Out of the darkness, a great goddess according to the ancient Babylonians was born from the primordial chaos. She was a multi headed dragon that dates even farther back from the earliest record of Sophia. Now as we enter into the Age of Aquarius, humanity is moving into a global family consciousness. Sophia shows up in modern consciousness as the divine feminine to rekindle and ignite the birthing process of the new age. Maggie shares a definition of feminine and masculine energy to give context to ways we experience feminine energy in our society. https://www.goddesswitchwomb.com

S2 Ep 29S2 Ep29: Hair in Your Magickal Practice
What does hair represent in your spellwork and offerings? In this week's episode, the witches answer a listener's question about using hair in your Magickal practice. Why is there a difference between hair that has fallen out naturally, as in a hairbrush, and hair that was specifically cut with the intention of making it an offering? Burning hair has been used for thousands of years, and it's been connected to the cleansing of the crown chakra, allowing for the removal of negativity and a reset. There are several different cultures that burn the hair of the dead to not only bring them closer to the living, but to also cleanse the negativity for them and to help alleviate pressures, such as generational hexes and curses, and the energy of families. Hair is seen as a very powerful genetic resource because basically, it has the same contents as blood. How much of your identity is wrapped up in your hair? S2 Ep 26S2 Ep26: The Root Chakra
In this week's podcast episode, we explore the qualities and relationships of the root chakra. There is some debate whether sexual energy is connected to this chakra. Where do you feel your sexual energy in your chakra system? Can the root chakra be about more than just safety, roots, your foundation, ancestry and sense of security? The kundalini serpent lays coiled at the root chakra, and she can be awakened through sexual energy and the activation in this chakra. When we explore the energy body, we tend to break it into parts to explore different energy centers and qualities reflected in our lives. In so doing, we may be limiting our understanding of the potency of our sexual energy which is also our spiritual energy. There is no separation or difference, merely our own perceptions of our life force energy. Join April, Harmony and Maggie for a riveting discussion of our primal root chakra. S2 Ep 22S2 Ep22: Hand of Glory
The Hand of Glory was a magical talisman that was popular in the eighteenth century in Northern Europe. It was an actual hand taken from criminals who had been hung. Witches and practitioners of the art would cut off a hand for mummification which used specific incantations and was stuffed with oils and herbs. The left hand of a criminal was used for bad magical work, such as hexing, cursing, and rendering people unable to move. If you were going to use it for assistance, help, or protection, they used the right hand. Several right-handed mummified Hands of Glory were found in the walls of cottages from the 18th and 19th centuries, specifically in Northern England. Fat was also removed from the criminal that was hanging to make a candle that was placed and lit while in the mummified hand. S2 Ep 20S2 Ep20: Lughnasadh
Lughnasadh is a cross quarter sabbat in the Wheel of the Year. This holiday is celebrated on August 1st, the closest full moon or when Leo is at 15°. Throughout Paganism, the first harvest is celebrated midway between Summer Solstice and the Fall Equinox. Lugh is known as the Sun God or a God of Light and is the foster son of Tailtiu, a Femorian who survived the invasion of the Tuatha Dé Danaan. Tailtiu was known as an earth goddess. This celebration marks a time of harvest, gratitude and the beginning of letting go as each night gets darker and darker in the sky. S2 Ep 18S2 Ep18: Hel, Goddess of the Afterlife
Hel is a Norse Goddess who is the daughter of Loki and a giant. According to a prophecy that has been lost over time, Hel was forced by the God, Odin, into Helheim, the underworld, a place where you would go if you don't die a glorious death and go to Valhalla. She was given control over the nine different dimensions of the afterlife and Hel even has the power to bring back the dead. In the 13th century, St. Bartholomew, the Bard, mentions a story with Queen Hel having a conflict with Jesus. This was enough to influence culture in society as the plays and songs were shared by the Bard. Over time, the Norse Goddess, Hel, had been replaced with a Christian place called Hell, a place of torture in the afterlife. S2 Ep 13S2 Ep13: Scrying
One of the oldest forms of divination is scrying which is divining messages through a reflective surface. 2000 years ago in the ancient world, the upper echelon of society would use a circular piece of black obsidian to scry. The Greeks would also use hydromancy, reading messages in water. At about 3000 B.C.E., the Babylonians began to scry messages in lamp oil. Scrying has been used by many mystics, diviners and psychics, including Queen Elizabeth's court astronomer, John Dee and his assistant Edward Kelley. Scrying can be used for mediumship, connecting with loved ones on the other side, past lives, connecting with ancestors and different dimensions. You can use a candle and a soft gaze to relax your vision to see messages in the mirror. Join April, Harmony and Maggie as they share the history, uses, and personal stories of scrying. Eris is known as the goddess of chaos and discord and she is the sister to Aries, the god of war. She fights against oppression and is known for shadow work, fear, and fighting for collective shadow. Her most famous story is the "Uninvited Guest" where she is deliberately not invited to a wedding party in which all the other gods and goddesses were invited. Eris crashes the wedding party and throws a golden apple, with the inscription "To the fairest," into the middle of the celebration causing a fight between Aphrodite, Hera and Athena. This action helped to spawn the Trojan Wars. Eris is also a dwarf planet that was discovered in 2005. Eris is about the same size as Pluto and much denser with a much longer orbit of 559 years. S2 Ep 10S2 Ep10: Pamela Colman Smith
Pamela Coleman Smith, nicknamed "Pixie," was a British artist responsible for every single illustration on all seventy-eight cards of the A.E. Waite and Rider Tarot Deck. She was involved heavily in the 1920s Suffragist movement in London. She created many of the posters that were hung throughout the city to let women know where they were gathering, to meet and discuss their rights, where they could get together to support each other, and the Suffragist movement, and to push the government in the direction that they wanted them to go. Pamela was a very wild and super individualistic in a period in time where women didn't really have a lot of personality. She didn't care who looked at her, what they thought, how they interpreted her actions or her behaviors, because she was very eccentric, and she just wanted to define herself as the woman, the witch, the feminist, the suffragist, the lesbian, and the mixed race female that she was. Pamela illustrated over twenty books and she wrote and illustrated two books about Jamaican folklore as well as illustrated Bram Stroker's novel, The Lair of the White Worm. S2 Ep 9S2 Ep9: Ayahuasca and Healing Trauma
You have experienced trauma just by being raised in a patriarchal society and by being born from a woman's body that had lived through different types of patriarchal conditioning. When healing trauma, many find they are caught in the triangle of disempowerment where you play a role of the victim, the rescuer, or the perpetrator. Talk therapy, dealing with your shadow work, and embodiment practices can help you start to understand and to heal your trauma. Many also turn to the use of psychedelics to look deeply into places that store trauma in the body, mind and spirit. In this episode, Harmony shares stories from her ayahuasca journeys as it pertains to healing her trauma with sexual abuse and with men. Ayahuasca is a plant-based psychedelic drug that is usually brewed into a tea or a concentrated liquid to drink. Ayahuasca is a sacred plant medicine of the shamans of South America and it is used for ceremonial practices. It is said that the spirit of the plant, grandmother Aya, will call to you when you need her medicine. S2 Ep 7S2 Ep7: Beltane
In the Wheel of the Year, Beltane is celebrated on the first day of May with this midway point between Spring and Summer. Many times, it is associated with May Day and the tradition of the May Pole, representing the phallus and a wreath, representing the sacred feminine vessel. The celebration is traditional with the fires of Beltane, the fires of Bel as they were called in reference to the Celtic God. The Druids always lit two fires on Beltane to emphasize a balance of the Divine Feminine and the Divine Masculine. People and livestock would walk through the two fires to inspire purification and fertility. The fires empower rituals, and all of the summer themes including love, happiness and protection.
