Cultivating Our Children's Hearts and Minds
Since the early 1980s, the press has been somewhat supportive of homeschooling. That is starting to change. MSNBC is now going after Christian homeschooling and Kirk Cameron's "fundamentalism." Kirk points to public education as "Public Enemy Number One." What is this Christian Homeschool Phobia that is rising among liberals? Do they have reason to fear?New kids and family podcast from Generations - TeachMeTheFaith.com
An Acute Need for Godly Leaders
The world economy is cracking. We're heading into a Category 7 hurricane when it comes to the socio-political and economic conditions of the world. Homeschooling moms are heading off to Congress to save the nation. These are critical times in which godly leaders will be needed most urgently, but the pickin's are slim these days. Not many young men receive the male mentorship they need. Not many are emerging from the ranks of homeschooling with the willingness to deny themselves and die for Christ—really lay down their lives for the cause of liberty and righteousness. With a few exceptions, we are doing a lousy job cultivating godly leaders in our families and churches. We get too many Madison Cawthornes, an embarrassment to the homeschool ranks.New kids and family podcast from Generations - TeachMeTheFaith.com
Calling Sin What It Is
Why are pro-life organizations so much less likely to stick to principle and self-consistency than their pro-abortion counterparts? Obviously, few people want to admit that 25% (give or take) of Americans are murderers. There is a wimpiness about the current versions of the Christian faith . . . and Christian leaders who have a hard time calling a spade a spade. This soft and sentimental approach to sin in the family, in the church, and in our society is just wrong. It is a rejection of the gospel at root. School Shootings and Gun Control
Christian voices are pressing for government to preempt mass killings, but are we asking too much government? Will gun control do that much for the 1% of murders committed by assault rifles? Sadly, 40 children (or so) die every year from shootings in the public school . . . but what about the 7-10 million who die from abortion and the use of abortifacients? And, what about the souls that are lost by the purveying of the wrong worldview among the 55 million children attending these schools? A Woman Set Apart from the World
Christian women are asking if there is a life of Christ that is not saturated in entertainment, feeding flesh, flirting, and glamour contests. What would it be to be a set-apart woman? Leslie Ludy from Set-Apart Woman Ministries joins us to challenge ladies about this life of holiness. How might one transition from a saturation in the world to a focus on eternal priorities, setting affections on things above, and spending time with God?New kids and family podcast from Generations - TeachMeTheFaith.com
The Farm Crisis and Food Shortages
The stock market is entering bear market status, and the next Great Recession is almost certain. But, most troubling now is the farm crisis and food shortages looming. Price fixing on the part of the big corporations isn’t helping the little guy, and the disappearance of the family farm will prove problematic. Before we get to practical preparations, we address the more important subject—spiritual preparation. How do we prepare spiritually for what is coming? Was Disney Ever Wholesome?
Evangelical Christians tend to give Disney a free pass when it comes to their older movies and shows. However, did Disney ever have a righteous agenda? On this edition of Generations, Kevin Swanson and Adam McManus discuss the negative impact Disney has had on the culture, from back in the 80s and 90s to now.New kids and family podcast from Generations - TeachMeTheFaith.com
Sinful to Send Kids to Public School?
What can we say for pastors who are not teaching a biblical worldview? Only 12% of youth pastors and 13% of teaching pastors have a biblical worldview, and they tend to be weakest on areas of morality. Why are pastors weak on God's law? And, what about pastors who send their children to public schools? Should a concerned congregant speak to a pastor who sends his children to public schools that do not teach the fear of God as the beginning of wisdom and knowledge?New kids and family podcast from Generations - TeachMeTheFaith.com
Ethnic Hatred and Wicked Hearts
Ethnic hatred is nothing new. The wars of the nations are often based in this, whether it be Chinese, Taiwanese, Whites in America, or Hutus in Rwanda. Immigrants are often discipled by communists and Democrats, but the international flood into the nations offers better opportunities for Jesus's people to disciple the nations. We also discuss whether Western civilization will be saved by keeping immigrants out, or by humility and repentance before God among these Western nations.New kids and family podcast from Generations - TeachMeTheFaith.com
Get Ready for What Comes After Covid-19
High-level social planners, Babel-wannabes, technocrats, and techno-worshipers come together in the World Economic Forum in 2019 to map out their Covid-19 response six months before it happens. We provide examples of modern-day elitists and philosopher-kings (or technocrats) who are hoping to subjugate mankind via technology and the power of the state. Yet, the technology that is supposed to save mankind turns to destructive ends. Covid-19 provided substantial and sufficient social conditioning for the next step in the sequence laid out by the technocrats. There is, however, one factor they are not considering . . . God. Our discussion with Kendle Nichols, producer of the video “Prudent Preparation,” lends insight into what Christians should do to prepare for these developments. Christian Apologizes for Roe-Wade
Well-known evangelical writer Jen Hatmaker argues in favor of abortion, while the extremely influential evangelical pastor Tim Keller presents his case for the legalization of abortion. Keller's argument in a nutshell: "If we refuse to ban idolatry, we must be open to continued legalized abortion as at least a legitimate Christian posture." What's wrong with the line of thinking? Would you recommend Keller's worldview?New kids and family podcast from Generations - TeachMeTheFaith.com
An Abortion Mindset and the Church
Only 2% of millennial parents hold to a Biblical worldview, while 67% still claim to be Christians—latest Barna results. We take a look at the PCUSA’s, EPC’s, and PCA's birth rates—and find that the PCUSA’s and EPC's birth rates are about half the national average. They have an aging church population, and they're just not having kids. The PCA's is about the same as the national average—still low. But what are the real worldview issues underlying all of this? What makes for a healthy, reforming, biblical church? While birth rates aren't the number-one issue, what are the worldview issues that really matter?New kids and family podcast from Generations - TeachMeTheFaith.com
The Urge to “Change the World”
The urge to “change the world” or to “make the world a better place” may not be so great after all. Eileen Gu doesn’t believe in right and wrong, but only “right intentions,” but then the “road to hell is paved with good intentions.” What about the efforts on the part of huge, anti-Christ governments like the United Nations? Are we really on board with their programs to “change the world” or “make the world a better place?” Thankfully, Somebody already came to change the world, and the only way the world is ever going to change is through a change of heart. The Rise and Fall of Pop Culture
We answer a question about whether Christians have the obligation to adopt snowflake children. Shall a family be obligated to impregnate five daughters as a family ministry to rescue these orphans? Then we chronicle the corrupting power and influence of popular culture, and the subsequent death of this transient cultural form.New kids and family podcast from Generations - TeachMeTheFaith.com
Should the State Obey Jesus?
So, everything is to be submitted to Christ . . . except for the civil government? Is that how it works? Why are Christians so hesitant to submit their politics to rule of Jesus Christ? But, what does the Christian do when he is the far minority, and there is little opportunity to impact politics? New kids and family podcast from Generations - TeachMeTheFaith.com
Will Science Fail Us . . . or Kill Us?
Modern man has finally lost confidence in himself. While trust in man's institutions have fallen like a rock since the 1970s per Gallup polls, trust remains in one area—science. This is the last of the idols to fall. Yet there is a crisis in science, headlined by the Washington Examiner. A 2016 survey conducted by Nature Magazine found 90% of scientist respondents believed that a crisis was at hand, and a full 70% of those surveyed had tried and failed to reproduce another scientist's experiments. For a century, evolutionists have cried out, "Who needs reproducibility! Who needs observation! Who needs verification! Who needs data! We have an elegant hypothesis that can't be wrong!" Science will fail us. In fact, science is killing us now.New kids and family podcast from Generations - TeachMeTheFaith.com
The US Economic Bloodletting Begins
It was the year the Federal Reserve failed. After nearly a hundred years of that homosexual pedophile's economic policies were incorporated into the profligate nations of the US, the UK, the EU, Japan, and the most powerful nations on earth, the year has finally arrived. It was the year that Keynes failed. This is the week the Fed failed, with a pitiful fifty-point increase on interest rates to beat inflation brought on by the drunken-sailor-inspired Quantitative Easing policies of 2020 and 2021. We equip Christian families with a knowledge of the chicanery going on the economy, and then leave them with Christian principles for doing it right, if we get a chance to reconstruct this mess over the next 30-50 years. The Left Is Running Scared
The left is running scared. The wicked sense that abortion is not a safe and sacrosanct right forever and ever, amen. Roe v. Wade is on the chopping block. And . . . now they're concerned that same-sex mirage and homosexuality may not enjoy the same support it has for the last 10 years. We also point out that the left condemns itself with "The Handmaid's Tale," and its pretended condemnations of surrogacy. But, who supports surrogacy and rent-a-womb in our day now? Does a woman have a right to rent out her own womb? Does a woman have a right to sell herself into slavery? Does a woman have a right to commit suicide? Does a woman have a right to kill her own baby? Does a woman have a right to purposefully conceive a child with the purpose of selling the child, or placing the child in some institution, brothel, or cesspool where homosexuals live? We address these questions from the perspective of God's law.New kids and family podcast from Generations - TeachMeTheFaith.com
Reversing Roe After 50 Years
What is this much ado about reversing Roe? The spiritual pressures mount against the conservatives on the bench. But what about the 14th amendment for little guys in the womb? Is it too little too late, after technology has enabled the Kill Pill by Mail, the Plan B Pill, and high-efficiency abortifacients? Will our legislators do the right thing, especially since churches hardly have the will to stand up on any of this? Doubtful. Nonetheless, the hearts of these kings are in the hand of the Lord, and He turns it whithersoever He wills.New kids and family podcast from Generations - TeachMeTheFaith.com
The Year America Became Immoral
America crossed over to the dark side in 2007 as the shift in moral perspectives shifted from an average of 48.6% to 64.4% support for evil. By the Gallup Moral Acceptability poll, America is 32.6% more evil than she was in 2001. We include the ten "Most Devastating Events" in American Civil History on this program. What America needs more than anything is humility, repentance, regeneration, and faith in God's only Savior—the Lord Jesus Christ. Why Marital Intimacy Is Critical
Guest host Adam McManus chats with Rhonda Stoppe, the co-author of The Marriage Mentor: Becoming the Couple You Long to Be, for a second conversation. (If you missed the first conversation, entitled, “Need A Marriage Mentor?” click here). Today, they discuss the next five chapters: Telling her she’s pretty and keeping his attention. If you subscribe to Rhonda’s free newsletter, she will email you her audio book entitled A Christian Woman's Guide to Great Sex in Marriage. She is the founder of No Regrets Woman, a ministry dedicated to helping women live life with no regrets in a way that honors God and His design for them. Need a Marriage Mentor?
Imagine if your good friends were a couple dedicated to help you build the marriage you've always dreamed of. Steve and Rhonda Stoppe are that couple. After three decades of helping couples build no-regrets marriages, the Stoppes have compiled their success secrets into an easy-to-read, fun, and interactive book. It’s called The Marriage Mentor: Becoming the Couple You Long to Be. Guest host Adam McManus talks with Rhonda in this first part of a two-part conversation. Today, they discuss the first five chapters: If your spouse would change, would you be happy? What’s the big deal about respect? We’re falling out of love. Should Pastors Speak Out on Social Issues?
Will Christian pastors speak out on the California infanticide bill, or should they speak out? We provide a few biblical examples from Jeremiah 23 and Titus 1, where God holds pastors responsible for going after societal sins. But why are churches so powerless to affect culture these days? The man-centeredness revealed in the marketing programs and the programs themselves may be one reason. We quote Tozer. New kids and family podcast from Generations - TeachMeTheFaith.com
Hyper-Vulnerable to God’s Judgment
Are we really safer now than we were in the 1970s and 1980s? Universities are 50% more liberal. Nations are far more anti-God than they have ever been. Science has recently taken more steps in the development of nukes and their delivery systems. World economic systems are teetering on the edge of disaster. Russia is desperate. Are we really safer? UK’ers Still Afraid of Hell
UK church attendance dropped from 40% to 2% since the turn of the 20th century. There is no more vivid demonstration of the Gentile apostasy mentioned in Romans 11 than this statistic. Yet, there is still a remnant of a conscience left, with 58% of UK'ers concerned they may end up in hell given their life choices. People will concoct their own gospels to pacify their screaming consciences instead of relying on God's gospel, the only gospel that counts.New kids and family podcast from Generations - TeachMeTheFaith.com
When Wealth Disparity Is Unfair
Government is redistributing more wealth than ever, but the rich are still getting richer, and the poor are getting poorer. Maybe the pig was right. Some animals ARE more equal than others. But what causes the disparity? The system isn't fair, not because the governments are redistributing enough wealth. They do that all the time. But, the governments steal in other ways, while stealing from the rich and giving to the poor in welfare programs. But how does this work? Curious? How do Christians react to socialism? The disparity of wealth? The wealth effect that attends quantitative easing (another term for stealing)? Christians had better be equipped to answer these questions concerning corruption at the very highest levels of government today.New kids and family podcast from Generations - TeachMeTheFaith.com
The Electric Car Disaster
Electric cars produce more carbon than gas cars over 100,000 miles on average, if you include the 100 barrels of oil is used to fabricate a single electric car battery. But then again, maybe more carbon dioxide would be better—providing the earth with less ice but more greenery. Is that better for the earth or worse? Who knows! It's a very bad mix of bad science, bad politics, and bad economics . . . all sans the fear of God and humility. Government has turned into a respecter of persons, a godlike entity determining good and evil for itself and controlling all life on planet earth. The anxiousness to state control has produced an over-eagerness to accept every wild hypothesis without sufficient repeatable tests and honest scientific conclusions concerning probabilities, to include alpha and beta risks. It's an unholy alliance of businesses (Tesla), government (regulatory credits), and bad scientists (Al Gore).New kids and family podcast from Generations - TeachMeTheFaith.com
Socialist Education Is Faltering
Socialist education is faltering a bit in the United States. The Covid years rendered a 1.2 million drop-off on socialist university attendance, and a 2.5 million drop-off in K-12 public school registrations. Could this render a little hope for the next generation? We take a look at lifetime earnings for various careers. Education majors pull in only half of what engineers make in a lifetime, far less than the average plumber who makes $2.8 million over a lifetime . . . and quite a bit less than a truck driver who makes $2.5 million over a lifetime. Is this a good time to run up college debt, given the everything bubble, the poor R.O.I., and the heavy-duty, left-wing socialist indoctrination?New kids and family podcast from Generations - TeachMeTheFaith.com
Christianity and the World
No single person has ever made more of an impact on the world than Jesus Christ. This statement would have been hard to say in A.D. 85, but there is no question about it today. Jesus has affected our calendar, language, idioms, social mores, treatment of women, charity, hospitals, economics, science, liberty, music, art, and abolishment of chattel slavery. Kevin Swanson interviews Dr. Alvin Schmidt, the author of an eye-opening, landmark treatment of 2000 years of world history. Ever Complained about Politics?
Have you ever complained about politics? How about lighting a candle, instead of cursing the darkness? When you are severely outnumbered, how might you maximize your impact without wasting your resources, especially in the realm of politics? Kevin Swanson provides a concept where 0.2% of the population applying 0.2% of their time and resources could change the political direction of a state.
Discerning the Values in that “Wonderful Family Film”
Why do the brains of Christians turn to mush when it comes to discerning the worldview messages conveyed by the entertainment fare? Children are given the escapist utopia in Disney—the shortcut to living happily ever after, which usually comes after discovering the good within yourself. The intensely moral themes present "pro-social values," but they certainly are not biblical values rooted in the fear of God or the love of God. In some cases, the dreams of self-fulfillment are supposed to be found in romantic love—another cruel, humanist, self-centered dream. We find more instances where Christian leaders are discerning too little too late about Hollywood and its friends. New kids and family podcast from Generations - TeachMeTheFaith.com
Chris Rock Admits Abortion Is Murder
Multiple mainline comedians like Chris Rock are finally admitting that abortion is murder, but it’s still a choice, and should be legal. Why do comedians admit to the obvious, seek some level of honesty, and yet shy away from ultimate honesty? Comedians are more honest, and yet they tend towards depression and suicide. But why? We carefully analyze the worldview of post-modern comedy here, and present a biblical view of humor—attack humor and endearing humor both.
2006—The Year America Came Down
After the 2008 worldwide recession, the US median household wealth never recovered from its 2006 peak of $210,000. Median household income could not keep up with real inflation rates, and household debt could not compensate for the reduced standard of living anymore. The ever-increasing prosperity trend of a half millennium, come by the grace of God and the economic and technological developments of the West, was over. The worship of man and money, the greed, the apostasy, and the debt-orgy had run its course. We carefully assess the reasons why faith lapsed and America came down, beginning with the third generation of Puritans. But the big reason is found in Deuteronomy 8:11-20.New kids and family podcast from Generations - TeachMeTheFaith.com
Understanding and Investing in Friendship
Friendship has dropped off 60% in the US since 1990, but the good news . . . the average Facebook participant has 338 friends! Twelve percent of Americans have no friends, up from 3% in 1990. What is friendship, how does one invest in it, and what is the value of it? We dig into this very important aspect of human life with Dr. Michael Haykin, professor of church history at Southern Baptist Theological Seminary on this edition of Generations.
Parents Concerned for Kids' Spiritual Health?
Some 86% of Christian parents are concerned with their children’s spiritual development. But, will they pull their kids out of schools that teach the wrong religion or the wrong worldview? The Chosen—A Christian Review
Here we interact with an honest admission from the producer/writer of The Chosen. Are we content with "leaning on" the humanity of Jesus vs. the deity of Jesus in the Mormon-produced TV series? Does the nature and person of Christ really matter, or can we subject the faith to reductionism? And, do Mormons and Evangelicals "love the same Jesus," as Dallas Jenkins has testified? As the faith dies out with modern evangelicalism, this is a good time to be discerning. Christian Airmen sue over COVID-shot mandates
Guest host Adam McManus interviews Kris Kobach, attorney with Alliance for Free Citizens, about his lawsuit on behalf of 36 Airmen who have been denied a religious exemption from the COVID-shot mandate. Based on Scripture, they object to the use of aborted fetal tissue in the development of the COVID shots. As he explained in his Breitbart column entitled Airmen Lawsuit Illustrates the Madness of Biden’s Vaccine Mandates, Kobach notes that the mandate violates the Religious Freedom Restoration Act of 1993 as well as the First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. Plus, 17 of the 36 Airmen are pilots of the RC-135, one of the most sophisticated intelligence-gathering planes ever built. The American taxpayers have already invested a whopping $5.5 million to train each one. To fire them would be a colossal waste of $93.5 million worth of training.
The Parable of Izzy Folau and Brian Houston
There is much to learn from the Hillsong implosion, especially for those who have plugged in to Hillsong music. But . . . here's the big takeaway: Brian Houston was embarrassed by Rugby All-Star, Izzy Folau, three years ago . . . for Folau's calling sinners to repentance. Now, we're embarrassed by Brian Houston. And, Izzy Folau is back in the game, and Brian is out. For all of us . . . Will we be a scandal to the world for sinful behavior? Or will we be a scandal to the world for our faithfulness to Christ?New kids and family podcast from Generations - TeachMeTheFaith.com
Central Bank-Controlled Digital Currency
The Federal Reserve and the other central banks have pretty much managed to mess up the world economy. When increasing your quantitative easing from $5 trillion in 2008 to $32 trillion just 14 years later . . . driving inflation rates into the stratosphere, with bond rates in the toilet, now how do you fix that? Man seeks ultimate control over systems. When governments find that they have fouled up everything with the controls already given them . . . now they seek increased levels of control to fix the problems they created for the world. The problem, he thinks, is that he didn’t have enough control to begin with. He wasn’t in absolute control. If he were in absolute control, everything would be wonderful. That’s where central bank-controlled digital currency comes into play. Is this the mark of the beast or what? What should Christians do in such cases? Basic Questions - What is a Woman?
The US Supreme Court nominee is supposed to be the first black woman on the high court, but she's not sure what is a woman, or that she is a woman. Can Supreme Court nominees answer basic questions like, "What is a cat?" or "What is a Judge?" or "What is a woman?" We consider Judge Ketanji Jackson's answers to the question when life begins, but it turns out she holds to two religions at the same time. Toy Story Totally Woke
Toy Story now goes totally woke, but the big story is the ends to which the “gay” Borg will go, in order to grab the hearts of the children. The Behind-the-Scenes story on the lesbian scene in “Lightyear” betrays the level of commitment to which the Zeitgeist applies to indoctrinating children. How do Christian families react to Disney and Pixar now? Another New World Order?
We run through the last 100 years of New World Orders and demonstrate the futility of man’s attempt to find peace without Christ. What is proposed here is a social order . . . a political order . . . a guarantee for world peace, and a better life for everybody. What is assumed by the UN charter is an “ethic” and “rights” we can all agree on, which we don’t; and that human governments have the ability and the sovereign control over the outcome to bring about the objective . . . which they can’t. The dollar is failing. Men’s hearts fail them for fear. America is slipping from its position as “king of the hill” . . . Nahum 3 and Zephaniah 3 provide some helpful words for times like these. Your Story Trumps All Worldview
Kevin Swanson attends the Bad Abortion Bill hearing at the Senate Judiciary Committee, and here's the take away: There is no fear of God before their eyes, and "your story" is all that matters. Whether you killed the kid or saved the child, "your story" is everything, and they want to hear it. Sartre rules now. Choice defines essence, which precedes existence. However, Sartre represents the decline of civilization, just a brief postponement of cultural suicide.New kids and family podcast from Generations - TeachMeTheFaith.com
Getting Back to the Real Gospel
While the faith is dying out in the Western world, some are rushing to water down the gospel in order to make it palatable for those running away from it. Will this watered-down gospel presentation produce any good fruit? Why not press the gospel claims of Christ hard? Why not call men "sinners" and call them to repentance like Jesus and John the Baptist did? Why not make it hurt? Is this the time to water down the gospel? Or is it the time to present the gospel with even more clarity and force? Evangelist Ray Comfort has taken the gospel to the streets. His message has impacted millions, and he's known for his straightforward gospel presentation.New kids and family podcast from Generations - TeachMeTheFaith.com
