Here it is, the final episode of our The Last of Us HBO Podcast 'Look For The Light'. This week for the last time (until Season 2, of course..) It's time to delve deep into the third episode of HBO's The Last of Us, and well, safe to say we weren't ready for the absolute heartbreak this episode had waiting for us. With incredible central performances from Nick Offerman and Murray Bartlett, 'Long, Long Time' cements itself as the best episode thus far and perhaps one of the greatest hours of television that's been broadcast in, well, a long, long time. Join Rossko, Kat, Miles and Josh as they remember the tears and the moments that complimented the game, along with deep diving into Bill and Frank's relationship, beautifully complimenting Joel's journey with Ellie. Oh, it's an intense one, do enjoy the listen. We're back! On our final podcast of the year we've managed to assemble our biggest cast so far with an almighty SEVEN Finger Gunners joining the pod and amassing an absolute cavalcade of madness. Joining Rossko is Kat, Miles, Josh, Sean, the returning Tom and Jonathan Brown (aka Yogdog) making his first appearance on the podcast as we talk all about our Games of the Year and everything that is to come.We delve into our Game of the Year choices and share with the group just why these games were so damn special to us, elaborating on our written segments in the website GOTY article. There's a fair few of us now so there's a fair few games to get into, it's a hell of a list. This week on The Finger Guns Podcast Rossko, Miles and Josh are back together once again to get through the weeks news and well, there isn't a whole lot of it so we talk about Call of Duty instead. Well, as we keep up with the Golden Joystick award winners announcements throughout the podcast (Elden Ring for best multiplayer? Eh?), the gang discuss the ridiculous success of Warzone 2.0 and what it could mean for the future of the Royale, our own opinions on the game itself after jumping in together this week and more talk about the ongoing Microsoft / Activision acquisition saga. They offered ten years to PlayStation for CoD, would they accept? Well, we have no idea. But we speculate either way what it could mean for both companies. Elsewhere it's been two years since the release of the Xbox Series duo and the PS5, so we give the systems a thorough going over about where they stand and what we've enjoyed and not enjoyed about them so far. With Xbox throwing their money around - with seemingly very little return just yet - and Sony banging out AAA after AAA, the two companies have gone down very different paths in the hope to grab your attention this time around. We discuss whether or not we see a future in either method and when we can expect Xbox to actually start living up to the cheques they're writing developers. Starfield has a hell of a lot on its shoulders. This week on The Finger Guns Podcast we're all getting rather excited about the weeks big releases, namely God of War Ragnarok and Sonic Frontiers. Has Rossko caved and already brought Sonic? At the time of recording, no, but hey, there's still one hour to go before midnight.Instead we decided to get together and talk the weeks news, and there isn't an awful lot to get into but we did indeed talk all about PlayStation VR 2, now that it's been dated and priced and we share our thoughts on whether or not we're going to jump into brave new virtual worlds on day one. It's a tad expensive one would argue, but in comparison to other VR headsets of this quality, is it justified? This week on The Finger Guns Podcast Rossko, Kat, Miles and Sean get together to talk the weeks big news and basically there's only one place to start and that's the inevitable death of Google Stadia. After the announcement this week that Google will be pulling the online-only service in January of next year, we talk what went wrong, what Google didn't do well (and also what they did), what they could have done to save the service and, most crucially, how the developers had no idea this was happening until Google announced it. It's an entire cluster of bad times all round, and we break it down for you as best we can. Elsewhere we talk the fallout of leadership heads at Disco Elysium studio ZA/UM which lead to them 'involuntarily' leaving the company, leaving the sequel without its original creators. Where does this leave the new game? Are fans going to be as excited without their voices attached? As we were recording there was also some breaking news regarding a remake of Horizon Zero Dawn, which may be arriving on PS5 in the near future. There's nothing confirmed yet, but it looks like this rumour is building up steam amongst the press who have corroborated the information. We shall see what happens. Also, the Horizon board game is apparently really difficult. This week on The Finger Guns Podcast Rossko returns along with the also returning Kat to talk all the weeks gaming news with Miles, Tom and Josh. What gaming news? Well, there isn't a huge amount of 'news' per se but there are a few interesting tidbits that we wanted to get into including Microsoft accusing Sony of 'blocking' games from launching on Xbox Game Pass due to some under the table dealings. Well, it's probably not that excessing but we break down what this headline really means and what it could actually be referring to in the greater gaming landscape. Should we know this is happening? This week we talk Ubisoft's rather terrible no good very bad year continues to be an absolute shit-show with a bunch of delays and cancellations leaving their release slate fairly barren for the upcoming release windows, whether or not we're ok with the full roster of MultiVersus characters costing £200 at launch(!), Naughty Dog jumping through their own hoops to release a 10-minute gameplay video for The Last of Us Part I to get a hold of the leaks that have got out there and whether or not we're still debating whether or not £70 is a justifiable price point for a near ten year old game re-release and of course with Aloy's motion capture artists returning to the studios is their Horizon Forbidden West DLC on the way? We discuss.
