Rossko, Miles, Kat and Josh talk the difficulty of Shadow of the Erdtree, Xbox Game Pass coming to Amazon Fire Sticks and Konami staff wanting Kojima back for good. In Game of the Week Josh (and Miles) have been checking out the Valorant PS5 Beta (and well, it's very good...), Miles has been playing the terrible The Sinking City but keeps going back to it even though it's terrible (who is writing this anyway?) while Kat has dropped 27 hours into Red Dead Redemption 2 after Miles made her play it. Nice Miles. Nice. Oh, and Rossko has fallen back in love with the gorgeous Tetris Effect. Josh is recommending not going to The Trafford Centre as it's a 's***hole', apparently. Ugh. Miles leans into recommending House of Leaves, which is a book. Weirdo. Oh and Kat recommends an app called Family Wall, which is an app for couples to organise a sharedlist. We're back! Huge apologies for missing an episode last week - life very much got in the way for all of us - but now Rossko, Miles, Kat and Josh are back and we're talking up all the latest news and catching up on what we missed. First up we all get our teeth into the State of Play from last week, sharing what we thought our favourite reveals were along with stuff we're surprisingly excited by (apart from Rossko, who goes on quite the existential tangent). We all get a little bit hyped for Astro Bot and wonder what on earth Concord really has to offer anyone. Oh, and the other stuff in between. Oh, and Toys For Bob are so obviously making a new Spyro game now that they've confirmed a publishing deal with Xbox. Can you take a guess at who is super excited about that one? Kat has been checking out Little Hope from the Dark Pictures Anthology, Josh has used his well deserved days off to play cyberpunk roguelite The Land Beneath Us and Miles has finally got his hands on Hades II and well, he likes it alot. Oh, and Rossko has turned on his Xbox and played the glorious Hypercharge Unboxed!In recommendations Miles has finally seen The Boys (well the first few eps), Josh is recommending a Netflix show called Scavengers Reign, the animation that everyone is talking about and it finally gets to us (we get to all the cool stuff...eventually). This week it's another rough one for news so the gang (the gang being Rossko, Miles, Kat and Josh) get together to talk everything 2024 so far and what our highlights and lowlights have been along with our possible Game of the Year so far (hint: we all pick exactly the same one). Whilst it's been a quality year for games so far it's been a very difficult one for the industry, and we do our best to celebrate what those amazing developers have made for us whilst raising a glass to those who have been unceremoniously removed from their jobs along the way.In our one bit of news (ironically announced minutes after we finished up last week) we talk the announcement of Assassin's Creed Shadows, the brand new iteration of the series and the very first set in Japan. We like what we're hearing so far coming from the Ubisoft camp about this one, so hopefully there's plenty to get excited about in this upcoming entry. Will it get the naysayers back on board? We discuss. Oh, and the traditional question quiz returns and it's absolute bloody chaos from question one as ever. You've missed it, right? We're back once again to talk all things video games and probably Taylor Swift in episode 252 of The Finger Guns Podcast. Join Rossko, Miles and Kat as they dredge through the weeks news which is primarily focused on the fallout of Microsoft huge studio closures from last week and what the hell came next.First up, Xbox president Sarah Bond came out to try to defend the companies decision to sack hundreds of employees through closing award winning studios and breaking down award winning companies so yeah, there's that. Oh and Xbox announced, the day after closing Tango Gameworks (the one who made BAFTA-winning small game Hi-Fi Rush) that they want to focus on games which are small and award winning. You couldn't make this up, we are truly bereft with Xbox right now. They've certainly fudged around and found out, indeed. Oh, and there's a third Jurassic Park Evolution on the way and Miles is, weirdly hyped? We find out more. A FLYING T-REX. In Game of the Week Miles has been playing Dredge and the latest rhythm shooter that we call Robobeat while Kat has stuck out Fallout Shelter for a second week running whilst Rossko has been checking out Crow Country and the wonderful Animal Well.In recommendations Miles talks up the latest Saw movie, Kat recommends the Natural History Museum (don't get married there though, tis pricey) and Rossko wants everyone check out the demo for the lovely little indie Fishbowl.Oh, and don't miss Kat's Candy Crush Saga story. The Finger Guns Podcast returns after a week off with the full team back back back to get into the weeks news and well, there's a fair amount of it this week. First up, a few hours before we recorded Microsoft announced that they have closed Hi-Fi Rush developer Tango Gameworks and Redfall's Arkane Austin. We talk about this shocking reveal and what the bloodyhell is going on with Xbox right now and what - if anything - they have planned for the future. On the other side of the war PlayStation have another rough week culminating in a rather surprising u-turn after the huge backlash of announcing that Helldivers II Steam players will need to have a PSN account in order to keep playing. Sony have announced this will no longer be the case, much to the celebration of gamers around the world. At least 100,000 of them, at least. We also get into what we'd like to see from Resident Evil 9 and if we really need a Horizon Zero Dawn remaster after the original game is being taken down from PS Plus this month. The Finger Guns Podcast returns once again with our pre-250 episode which incredibly, is episode 249! This week on The Finger Guns Podcast Rossko returns to the hosting chair - after a bit of an altercation with Josh - with Kat, Miles and the returning Yogdog all joining in to get through the weeks news as quick as possible. This week on The Finger Guns Podcast it's been a quiet news week but we've managed to scrape together the news that The Last of Us Part II is getting a remaster and coming in January with a bunch of extra fetures. This week on a bumper Finger Guns Podcast the team (Rossko, Kat, Miles and Josh) get into The Game Awards nominations and choose their winners from each category and bemoan the lack of a certain beloved Hogwarts-based video game. There are huge numbers for Baldur's Gate 3 and Alan Wake 2 whilst the indies are probably the toughest call they've been in years. We do our best to try and choose our winners for each. Oh, and then there's the small matter of Rockstar announcing that they're revealing the first trailer for Grand Theft Auto 6 in the first week of December to handle, so we delve into what we'd really like to see from Rockstar's latest behemoth. In Game of the Week this week we've been primarily getting absurdly bored in Modern Warfare 3 multiplayer, Rossko has been rocking the masses in this years iteration of Let's Sing, Kat has redownloaded Dead By Daylight after deleting it and Miles has checked out Dungeons 4 and the wonderfully titled Super Crazy Rhythm Castle. Say it really quickly four times. For our recommendations this week Kat is talking velvetisers for hot chocolate, cus why not. Miles concurs. He also recommends Stronghold: Definitive Edition (if you're a NERD) Josh talks the movies he's seen recently, namtely The Killer, Bottoms and Dream Scenario (Nic Cage turns up in everyone's dreams for no reason) while Rossko delved deep into the Robbie Williams documentary on Netflix with surprising results. This week on the Finger Guns Podcast we rejoice for Xbox having a cracking start with Starfield only to be derailed once again by an enormous data leak which showcased their plans for the next seven years all over the internet. We take a look and despite Phil Spencer downlplaying their significance, well, we get into them anyway and get giddy about what they shared.We also talk some good news in camp Xbox with the reveal that the UK CMA Regulatory Board have tentatively approved their Activision acquisition, at last. We get excited about this, not only because it means we may no longer have to bloody talk about it.Also, Square-Enix want to update classic IP to AAA status. This week on the FG Pod Rossko, Kat, Miles and Josh get together to talk everything about the weeks news along with a certain big release that's taken over Rossko and Yogdogs lives. In the news we talk the somewhat surprising news that Everbody's Gone to the Rapture developer The Chinese Room has taken over development on Vampire The Masquerade Bloodlines 2 after years of trouble and now aims to release the game in fall next year. Are they the right studio to bring it to life? I guess we'll soon find out. Elsewhere The Elder Scrolls 6 is now officially in development now Bethesda have shipped Starfield, but we've still got a long long wait to see anything from the game. We take bets on when we'll see it and if there will be Skyrim Edition of something released before then. There probably will. We also talk the sad news that Saints Row developer Volition have closed their doors after owners Embracer decided to shut down the studio with immediate effect. Was the writing on the wall after the reception to the Saints reboot? We discuss.
