He also highlights the positive impact that service dogs can have on veterans' lives, providing them with a sense of purpose and confidence. Anthony shares his own experience with his service dog, Bourbon, and the bond they have developed over the years.Learn about all this and more in this episode of The Fearless Mindset Podcast.GOLDEN NUGGETSThe Healing Power of Service Dogs - Anthony Longo: "With us, it was really like, how do we use hypervigilance as a skill set? How do you channel that energy? How do you channel that anxiety, that force, that kind of makes you feel less inclined to want to deal with other people? With us, it was really about how we kind of incorporate that into the mindset and into the animals' training to bring peace of mind for the veterans and help them overcome their challenges."The Dog as Doctor, Nurse, and Psychiatrist - Anthony Longo: “And that's the problem. You know, it's, we'll say this, the VA does do a good job. And for what it has to do, could it be better? A hundred percent. I mean, some of these bureaucrats and Hey, if you're an elected official, that's the healthcare you get. So, yeah, see some pretty rapid changes. But I still feel just the access to progressive medicine and alternative holistic care. Needs to be something that should be highlighted a little bit more because it's not always just like keep shoving drugs down guys' throats. Because, I mean, look at the side effects of the streets of the United States. Yeah, it's crazy and, you know, the side effects of owning an animal. Patience is one of those things you learn to develop. Having to take the dog outside, having to move, having to get up, having to just work with the animal. Um, I think those are a little bit more constructive, constructive side effects than they are, you know, whatever drug that we're on. You know, causing anal leakage or whatever. I think I'd rather take out and let my dog out.”Get to know more about Anthony:LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/anthony-j-longo-993b9a2b/Website: https://www.warriorschoice.org/To hear more episodes of The Fearless Mindset podcast, you can go to https://the-fearless-mindset.simplecast.com/ or listen to major podcasting platforms such as Apple, Google Podcasts, Spotify, etc. You can also subscribe to the Fearless Mindset YouTube Channel to watch episodes on video. This episode of the Fearless Mindset Podcast is the second part of our conversation with Miranda Coppoolse, Behavior Analyst and Security Risk Advisor at MC Global Security Consulting. Talking to kids with trauma is more like an interrogation of how things operate today.Miranda shares how she created a forensic program that helps organizations interview kids in a non-threatening and emphatic way, as interrogating usually does more harm than good. She also gives her insight on discarding ego and how loyalty and hard work can make women thrive in the EP industry.GOLDEN NUGGETSA step-by-step program that treats trauma victims with empathy - Miranda: "When kids are being interviewed, it's not really interviewing, it's more on an interrogation. And for young people or even people with trauma, that is very threatening, so you don't really dare to say anything anymore. So it requires really a certain technique and empathy almost to do that.""Because I can give you, for instance, the sheet on how to do it or the questions, but some people just don't have that. They cannot make a connection with a kid or a bond so, I created a step-by-step program in where I help organizations who are in that field to interview those victims."Loyalty and hard work are the keys to success for women in EP - Miranda: "Just go after what you want. It's oftentimes hard because it's not an easy industry. So that's what you have to realize, it's a lot of training and you have to continue getting trained, get as much experience as you can. Believe in yourself. Just keep going. If it's really what you want, and especially in executive protection for ladies, there are not that many. So once you're good enough, I mean trained enough and ready for it, there's a lot of work out there. But yeah, just be honest and be loyal and just work hard."Get to know more about Miranda:LinkedIn | Website | salusops.orgTo hear more episodes of The Fearless Mindset podcast, you can go to https://the-fearless-mindset.simplecast.com/ or listen to major podcasting platforms such as Apple, Google Podcasts, Spotify, etc. You can also subscribe to the Fearless Mindset YouTube Channel to watch episodes on video. Ep 148Episode 148 - Reinvent Security and Adapt It for the Future with Ron Worman Part 2

Change is here and security has to change with it. In this episode, Mark speaks with Ron Worman, Founder of The Sage Group and Managing Director of The Great Conversation. Ron talks about how the security industry is ripe for reinvention. With AI shaking things up on a fundamental level, security leaders must adapt to this reality and let go of outdated methods. Aside from a mindset focused on innovation, leaders must build a business model for the future that allows people to get retrained and redeployed during downturns.Tune in as Ron digs into embracing change and emerging technologies on The Fearless Mindset Podcast.GOLDEN NUGGETSReimagine security as times change- Ron: "I am now putting security in the category of bookstores, music, and taxis just for a second. And we're doing it as a thought experiment, not because we're saying that security's no longer relevant. Music is still relevant, books are still relevant under a different form, even on a Kindle, and taxis are still relevant under a different form called Uber and Lyft."Prepare for the future and save money - Ron: "You shouldn't wait till you get laid off to be putting money in the bank. Don't take that extra trip to Hawaii. Don't spend money on that 60-inch screen. Make sure you're putting 10% every day out of your pay. And if really want to buy off on the fact that everything you do impacts your world, set another contribution aside to nonprofits who are helping people."Get to know more about Ron:LinkedIn | The Great ConversationTo hear more episodes of The Fearless Mindset podcast, you can go to https://the-fearless-mindset.simplecast.com/ or listen to major podcasting platforms such as Apple, Google Podcasts, Spotify, etc. You can also subscribe to the Fearless Mindset YouTube Channel to watch episodes on video.
