S4 Ep 287Can antibiotics help with recurrent miscarriages? (Ask The Egg Whisperer)
Recurrent pregnancy loss is heartbreaking and is the reason why I went to fertility medicine. Lauren shared her journey with us by asking this question at AskTheEggWhisperer.com: "Can antibiotics for endometritis help with recurrent miscarriage? I've been going through recurrent pregnancy loss, and have been going through testing to figure out a cause. We came up with a diagnosis of endometritis and I went through a round of antibiotics. Are there essential lifestyle changes I should also be making to lower my risk of yet another miscarriage? Could it really be as simple as a few weeks of antibiotics?" Tune in to hear my answer, and the answers to over 20 other questions (all from listeners and followers!).

S4 Ep 286What can I do to thicken my uterine lining? (Ask The Egg Whisperer)
Emily submitted a great question to AskTheEggWhisperer.com: "What can I do to thicken my uterine lining? (I'm 37 and we've been TTC for over 6 months. Obgyn wanted me to try progesterone before going to specialist. My issue is a thin lining of 5mm. What can help my lining?" My answer to her was: Let's start by asking your doctor if Asherman's syndrome has been ruled out. An HSG, saline sonogram and hysteroscopy can all help make this diagnosis and ultimately may help treat it too. You can also add medications and supplements like: estrogen, aspirin, l-arginine and vitamin E that may help. And get your TUSHY checked as well! #TUSHYMethod includes the 5 fertility tests you should do. To hear the answer to 20+ other questions, tune in! S4 Ep 282Does seed cycling work? (Ask The Egg Whisperer)
In today's podcast episode, I'm sharing one of the past Ask The Egg Whisperer episodes. Sabah wrote in to ask about seed cycling, which is the practice of eating specific seeds at certain points in your menstrual cycle to help promote the healthy balance of estrogen and progesterone to regulate cycles, increase fertility, and ease PMS symptoms and other symptoms as a result of hormonal imbalances. Here's what she has to say, "Hi Dr Aimee does seed cycling actually work ? My cycles are currently 40 days with no known fertility issues just yet. Could seed cycling help with bringing my cycles back to 32 to 35 days as they were last year?" To submit your own question to Dr. Aimee for a future episode of Ask The Egg Whisperer, click here. S4 Ep 281My husband has male factor infertility. What do we do? (Ask The Egg Whisperer)
When a couple has a diagnosis of male factor infertility, it's important to know what to do and it's all part of my #BallsMethod. I love that Stephanie wrote in to "Ask the Egg Whisperer" to see if there was anything else she should consider. Here's what she says, "My husband has male factor infertility, everything seems fine on my end. We did IUI for the first time this month and it failed, I was on letrozole 2.5mg 2x/day CD3-CD7. They didn't measure my follicles or check my progesterone because they said I have a normal period and show no issues ovulating. Should I ask to have these checked for the next IUI round even though they say things are normal on my end? Last blood work and HSG was done was over a year ago."

S4 Ep 258Everything You Need To Know About PCOS with Guest Mira Aubuchon
Dr. Mira Aubuchon joins The Egg Whisperer Show to talk about PCOS. The facts: Polycystic Ovary Syndrome could make it more difficult for women to get pregnant. Contrary to its name, having PCOS doesn't mean your ovaries have cysts. It means your ovaries have a high number of follicles (tiny "cysts") containing eggs that are often unable to mature due to a hormone imbalance.⠀ ⠀ Symptoms of the condition include irregular or absent periods, high testosterone, excessive hair growth (hirsutism), and acne. I call it HOPE Syndrome. H is for High testosterone. O is for Ovaries with a lot of follicles. P is for Periods that are irregular. E is for eating + exercise habits that you need to develop early on. PCOS definitely has its challenges, but, having it does not mean you'll never have children or that your eggs cannot produce a healthy, beautiful baby. Plus, if you have it, you're not alone. Up to 10% of women have PCOS. Read the full show notes on Dr. Aimee's website Subscribe to my YouTube channel for more fertility tips! S4 Ep 257Ask The Egg Whisperer with Dr. Aimee: When should we ask for a sperm DNA fragmentation test?
Ask the Egg Whisperer is one of my favorite times each week! I love getting to answer your questions. In this episode, Maria writes in to ask about the sperm DNA fragmentation test. "When should we ask for a sperm DNA fragmentation test? We had our first (failed) IUI in September and during it, my husband's semen analysis was significantly lower than the analysis we had done pre-treatment (which was done at a different lab). He is now undergoing more testing with a urologist including an ultrasound, a physical exam, and a repeat semen analysis. The outcome of current testing would either mean we try more IUIs or move on to IVF." S4 Ep 255Stress and Getting Pregnant, The Top 10 Things You Need To Know
Stress and pregnancy go hand in hand. Heck, stress and living life go hand in hand! While some stress is healthy, and actually a helpful motivator to us, too much can send us into a mental (and sometimes physical) tailspin. Dr. Coleman Allen joins Dr. Aimee on today's podcast episode Before I get into my top 10 list of things you need to know from the show, I wanted to touch on two of my favorite parts. I particularly liked her perspective on something I hear from patients time and again. "I want to get pregnant naturally". Dr. Allen's response was more perfect than any I've heard, and one I hope will bring you peace of mind should this be something you desire too: "It still takes all of the natural miracles to become pregnant. With fertility treatment, and all it entails you're simply facilitating a natural process to happen. Nobody can force an egg to fertilize or make an embryo grow and divide. Only nature can make an embryo attach." Read the full show notes on Dr. Aimee's website Subscribe to my YouTube channel for more fertility tips! S4 Ep 253ReceptivaDX Test and How it Can Help You with guest Dr. Bruce Lessey
I'm so excited to have Dr. Bruce Lessey @receptivadx join me on the podcast. Dr. Lessey has dedicated his research life to studying the lining of the uterus and more specifically, how to help embryos stick better. His research led to the discovery of the role of BCL-6 in the lining of the uterus as a diagnostic test patients can have done by their doctors to guide them toward the best protocol for transfer success. The test isn't for women just going through IVF either. This test can also be done to help women get an endometriosis diagnosis without going through a laparoscopy surgery. ⠀ ⠀ In addition to being a Fertility Doctor at The Fertility Center of the Carolinas, in Greenville SC, Dr. Lessey is also the scientific advisor for Cicero DX. His work on identifying BLC6 became the key component of the Receptivadx test. ⠀ ⠀ I'm delighted to have him on the show! Many IVF patients have benefited greatly from the Receptivadx test, and I'm looking forward to asking him a lot of questions about his work. S4 Ep 250Ask The Egg Whisperers w/guest Dr. Merhi (Should I continue high doses of medication & do mini-IVF?)
Dr. Zaher Merhi joins Dr. Aimee for this episode of Ask The Egg Whisperers. The first question we take is from Janice, who shares this, "My husband and I have been trying to conceive for the past two years. I am 36 and my husband is 43. In January 2020, we decided to get a fertility workup. My uterus was fine, tubes clear and hormone levels normal. Should I continue with high doses of medication or perhaps think of doing mini-IVF? Can high medicated doses affect egg quality? Is there anything you can recommend so that I can increase my chances of getting a normal embryo w/ my next round?"
