Jason and Frank are here to bring you into the weekend with another hour of hockey talk on The DFO Rundown! They kicked off today's episode by looking back at a wild Thursday night in the NHL. Ep 103Interview with Bayne Pettinger

Welcome to another Friday edition of The DFO Rundown with Frank Seravalli and Jason Gregor! On today's show, Frank and Jason were joined by NHLPA Certified Player Agent Bayne Pettinger. Bayne is the first openly gay NHL agent after coming out just over a year ago. He spoke about breaking barriers, the support around him, and his new non for profit with Brock McGillis. Also on the show, two major NHL markets in Canada, the Montreal Canadiens and Edmonton Oilers, relieved their head coaches this past. Montreal opted to go with the inexperienced coach in Marty St Louis while Edmonton promoted their AHL head coach Jay Woodcroft. The most significant difference between the jobs is the pressure. Frank and Jason discussed the two new appointments. Finally, Liam Horrobin joined the guys for a new edition of Buy or Sell presented by DoorDash. Are the Edmonton Oilers a playoff team? Is Tomas Hertl staying with the San Jose Sharks? Is the Arizona Coyotes decision to play at Arizona State University actually a good idea? Ep 102All Star recap, trade chatter and Rocky Wirtz

Today on the DFO Rundown, Frank Seravalli and Jason Gregor dug into all the stories around the NHL as the league returns from its All Star break. First on the agenda was what went down in Vegas over the weekend, both good and bad. Trevor Zegras stole the show with another highlight reel move in shootout challenge, but it was enough to beat the hometown favourite Alex Pietrangelo who missed the net. They continued to discuss what went well and areas of improvement for All Star weekend. The talk then moved on to the New York Rangers. The Rangers are in a great spot right now, sitting second in the Metropolitan Division, but what will they do at the deadline? Is it time for them to go all in and make a run for Lord Stanley? Finally, the Chicago Blackhawks were in the headlines again this past week. One piece of news was that former Boston Bruins and Edmonton Oilers General Manager Peter Chiarelli had been interviewed for the vacant position in Chicago. The second was a little more controversial after chairman Rocky Wirtz refused to answer questions about the sexual assault case in 2010. You can hear all of that and more on episode 102 of The DFO Rundown! Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

Tonight we got more major news in the NHL as Joel Quenneville has resigned as the Head Coach of the Florida Panthers. Frank and Jason broke down that news and talked about the new interim Head Coach in Florida: Andrew Brunette. Of course, talking about the on-ice product doesn't feel very significant right now. The bulk of this episode was spent talking about the fallout from the Chicago Blackhawks investigation. Not only did they talk about the repercussions of the investigation, but they also talked about Kyle Beach and the courageousness he showed by making his identity known. Hosted on Acast.
