Ep 361How will the trade deadline change the Eastern Conference?

With the 4Nations Faceoff now firmly in the rearview mirror, Jason and Frank returned for a new episode of The DFO Rundown. To kick off the show, they looked at some of the injury news that came out of the NHL’s mid-season tournament as some teams will now be without some star players as they head down the stretch. There is some drama around the Charlie McAvoy situation, which Frank said was ridiculous, but the Bruins now look like they could be sellers. They have some intriguing rentals but the big question is whether or not they will trade Brad Marchand or one of their defensemen with term.Matt Tkachuk is going to miss some time for the Florida Panthers after sustaining an injury at the 4Nations Face-Off, could that change their deadline plans? GM Bill Zito doesn’t have a lot of assets or a lot of cap space, but he’s known to be a creative GM. Frank talked about what they could add. They also hit on the Mikko Rantanen situation in Carolina, the New Jersey Devils' plans and whether or not the Washington Capitals will go all-in at the deadline.Tyler then popped in for a new edition of Buy or Sell where he asked the guys about the goaltending situations with the Edmonton Oilers and Vancouver Canucks. To wrap, they talked about some of the teams that are on the bubble in the Eastern Conference like the Detroit Red Wings, Columbus Blue Jackets and New York Islanders.0:55 - 4Nations Recap & injury news8:50 - Bruins deadline plans14:35 - Can the Panthers add?19:30 - The Canes & Rantanen26:20 - The Devils & their blueline40:20 - Buy or Sell46:00 - The Red Wings blueline54:40 - What will Columbus do?57:15 - The Islanders must sellWant to hear more from Frank, Jason and the entire DFO team? The Americans are looking to prove that they are the number one hockey country in world while the Canadians are looking to prove that the loss last Saturday was just a one-off.They started the podcast by talking about some breaking news from earlier today as Team USA learned that they will be without defenceman Charlie McAvoy. Ep 359The Tkachuks Steal The Show in Montreal & We Play Deadline Matchmaker

Today on the podcast, Jason Gregor was joined by his usual running mate Frank Seravalli, who was live in Montreal for the 4Nations Face-Off, where things are starting to heat up!The tournament opener created some interesting questions for Team Canada. Where will Travis Sanheim slot in and can he replace Shea Theodore? Should Head Coach Jon Cooper change up his forward lines? And of course, the big one: should Jordan Binnington continue being the starter? The guys gave their take.On the American side of things, it was the ‘Tkachuk Show’ on Thursday night as Brady and Matthew absolutely took over the game during USA’s 6-1 win over Team Finland. Team USA certainly has some swagger, but can they keep it rolling on Saturday night against Team Canada? From there, they talked about the booing of the American national anthem, the league's change to a ten-minute 3v3 overtime, the 3-2-1-0 point system, Sidney Crosby’s performance in game one and other big headlines from the first 48 hours of the tournament.Tyler then popped in for Buy or Sell where he asked the guys about which players impressed in their first game in Montreal and what deadline deals they’d like to see happening. The guys wrapped up with some talk about Frank’s annual Trade Deadline Matchmaker article where he looked at some potential fits for some of his trip deadline targets. He had names that he thinks would fit on teams like the Winnipeg Jets, Dallas Stars, and Edmonton Oilers.4:20 - Canada’s goaltending situation9:05 - The Tkachuk’s big night17:05 - The Bell Centre boos24:19 - Sweden’s big point28:40 - Crosby’s performance33:00 - Buy or Sell40:00 - Trade MatchmakerWant to hear more from Frank, Jason and the entire DFO team? Ep 358The Key Storylines for Each Country at the 4 Nations Faceoff

Frank Seravalli is live in Montreal for the 4Nations Faceoff as the hockey world will see close to true best-on-best hockey for the first time in close to a decade. Most of the best players in the world are here and with the tournament kicking off on Wednesday, Jason and Frank went through some of the big storylines for each of the four countries taking part.Finland has lost a handful of key blueliners in the weeks leading up to the event and now they have a defense corp that is barely NHL level, nevermind up to par with the other groups in the tournament. Can they overcome that?Sweden is third on the odds board by a pretty significant margin, but do they deserve more respect? A lot of attention is given to the Swedes strong blueline which features a handful of future Hall of Famers but as Frank says, don’t sleep on their forward group, which has some elite scorers playing in the bottom six.USA got dealt a big injury blow with the absence of Quinn Hughes but their blueline is still deep and their forward group has some elite talent at the top. They also have the best goaltender in the tournament in Connor Hellebuyck. Will that be the difference maker? Finally, they talked about the duo of Connor McDavid and Nathan MacKinnon as they will look to compete on the same team for the first time since they came to the NHL. Sidney Crosby is there too after a brief injury scare. Canada’s depth is unmatched but the big question mark comes between the pipes. After they finished going through all four teams, Tyler popped in for a 4Nations themed edition of Fill in the Blank where he asked the guys about who could lead the tournament in scoring and more.To wrap, they quickly hit on a few NHL stories like what the Dallas Stars could do with the LTIR space they’re getting with Miro Heiskanen.4:00 - Finlands injuries8:30 - Sweden’s chances10:30 - USA without Quinn Hughes19:00 - Canada’s big guns27:20 - Fill in the Blank33:50 - Stars, their LTIR space & Seth JonesWant to hear more from Frank, Jason and the entire DFO team? Ep 357Leave Winnipeg Alone! Plus: What’s Kyle Connor’s next contract

After his week-long hiatus, Jason Gregor returned to the podcast as he and Frank Seravalli were re-united for episode 357. To begin the pod, Gregor finally got a chance to give his take on the Mikko Rantanen trade and that led to some talk about whether or not he thinks Rantanen will eventually extend in Carolina. From there, they talked about a few other things that Gregor missed over the last 10 days including the big salary cap increases that are coming over the next few seasons. That led Frank to start wondering what the Jets will end up doing with Kyle Connor, who is eligible to sign an extension this summer. The guys debated whether or not he’s considered an elite player and then threw around some contract comparables. They also talked about the Jets deadline plans & the recent player poll that saw a high percentage of players say the Jets are the spot they’d least like to play.Tyler then popped in for a new edition of Buy or Sell where he asked the guys about Marcus Pettersson’s extension in Vancouver, the chances of either Bowen Byram or Casey Mittelstadt being traded for a second straight trade deadline and what the Los Angeles Kings and Rob Blake need to do ahead of March 7th.To wrap up the show, they stayed in the Pacific Divsion and talked about the Vegas Golden Knight’s struggles. Jack Eichel has been scoring but their team is very top heavy and Frank wondered if that will change with the addition of Brandon Saad. They also touched on what the Oilers could be looking to accomplish ahead of the deadline.Frank also gave his Super Bowl prediction for his Philadelphia Eagles.1:20 - Rantanen’s future18:00 - Kyle Connor’s future27:40 - Jets deadline plans36:00 - Buy or Sell (Pettersson extension, Byram/Mittelstadt, Kings deadline plans)47:55 - Golden Knights struggles51:50 - Oilers need for speed57:00 - Brock Nelson updateWant to hear more from Frank, Jason and the entire DFO team? Ep 356Recapping a wild weekend of trades in the NHL

Frank is back with a fresh episode of The DFO Rundown and with Jason Gregor still on holidays, he was joined today by Craig Button from TSN. The two of them kicked things off by talking about the first of three big trades from the weekend: the JT Miller trade. It felt inevitable that Miller would end up back in New York and finally after weeks of rumours, the Canucks pulled the trigger on the deal. They got back a decent return that included a first-round pick, which their front office promptly flipped to the Pittsburgh Penguins in exchange for defenseman Marcus Pettersson and forward Drew O’Connor. The guys broke down how Miller has looked back in a Rangers jersey and also the Canucks decision to add Pettersson. They also talked about Elias Pettersson’s future in Vancouver and whether or not the Canucks are set on keeping him, or if they could have another big trade up their sleeves. The Canucks weren’t the only team who made a big splash this weekend either. The Dallas Stars acquired Mikael Granlund and Cody Ceci from the San Jose Sharks in exchange for a package of draft picks. The guys talked about whether or not this was the right move by the Stars considering how much cap they took on and they also touched on the job that Sharks GM Mike Grier is doing as he continues to rebuild his roster.Tyler then popped in for a new edition of Fill in the Blank where he asked the guys about the Rangers' playoff chances, Casey Mittelstadt's availability and how many games Ryan Hartman will get.To wrap up the show, Frank got Craig’s take on the Detroit Red Wings and Tampa Bay Lightning, who seem to be going in opposite directions.1:35 - Miller returns to the Rangers5:05 - Canucks add another Pettersson16:20 - Stars add Granlund & Ceci29:25 - Flames add Frost & Farabee39:55 - Fill in the Blank51:20 - Red Wings stay hotWant to hear more from Frank, Jason and the entire DFO team? Ep 355Contenders & Pretenders in the Eastern Conference

Frank’s week of rotating co-hosts continued today as he was joined by Pete Blackburn of What Chaos! In the first part of the show, they went through all the teams that are currently existing in the mushy middle of the Eastern Conference. There are eight teams that all have convinced themselves to some extent that they are capable of making the playoffs and yet none of these teams have gone on any sort of a run that would lead you to believe that they’re front runners in the race for one of the final two wild card spots. Frank and Pete went through every team and gave the case for and against them making the Stanley Cup Playoffs.Frank is high on the New York Rangers while Pete thinks that teams like Montreal and Columbus should do everything they can to help out their young cores and shouldn’t sell off.Frank also mixed in a quick update on the Vancouver Canucks and the JT Miller rumblings. They also talked about how he could fit in with teams like the Boston Bruins and New York Rangers.Tyler then popped on for a new edition of Buy or Sell where he asked the boys about the new name for the Utah Hockey Club, how many pieces the Canucks could move before the deadline, and the rumours swirling around Kings defenseman Brandt Clarke. They wrapped up with some talk about the Minnesota Wild & they discussed where Brandon Saad could end up.2:10 - Boston Bruins8:30 - Ottawa Senators11:25 - Columbus Blue Jackets15:55 - Detroit Red Wings17:50 - Montreal Canadiens21:00 - Pittsburgh Penguins24:30 - Quick Canucks update28:05 - New York Rangers34:00 - New York Islanders36:30 - Buy or Sell45:40 - Brandon Saad’s futureWant to hear more from Frank, Jason and the entire DFO team? Ep 354What led the Colorado Avalanche to move on from Mikko Rantanen?

What a weekend in the NHL. We saw one of the biggest in-season trades in the history of the league as the Colorado Avalanche sent superstar forward Mikko Rantanen to the Carolina Hurricanes for a package that includes Martin Necas. Frank Seravalli, the man who broke the trade, sat down with ESPN National Hockey Writer Ryan S. Clark to break down every angle of this deal. What led the Avalanche to the point where they felt like they had to deal one of the best forwards in the NHL? Frank gave some insight into that. Was this the right move? That was the big question that Frank and Ryan struggled with. The guys dissected the package that GM Chris MacFarland got in return and they talked about how Rantanen will fit in with the Hurricanes and whether or not they can keep him long-term.After that, Tyler popped in for a new edition of Fill in the Blank where he asked the guys about Rantanen’s future, the chance that we see another blockbuster this season, and Alex Pietrangelo bowing out of the 4Nations Faceoff. To wrap up the show, they talked about why the Chicago Blackhawks felt like they needed to jump in and help out. Ep 353What will the true contenders look to accomplish before the deadline?

Frank and Jason are back with a fresh edition of The DFO Rundown as they decided to sink their teeth into the potential shopping lists for the true contenders in both the Eastern and Western Conferences. They started with a handful of teams right off the jump who could be in the mix for some help at the forward position before getting to the best team in the NHL: the Washington Capitals. The Caps have been one of the best stories in league this season, but will they go all-in at the deadline? The guys debated that. From there, they touched on some potential fits for teams like the Toronto Maple Leafs and Dallas Stars, who’s number one needs are pretty clear cut according to Frank.Tyler then popped in for a new edition of Buy or Sell where he asked the guys about the potential fire sale in Pittsburgh, which prompted Frank to make quite the wager with the guys. They also talked about who the Nashville Predators could sell off and the mindset out in Utah as GM Bill Armstrong approaches the deadline. To wrap things up, they talked about a few of the big dogs in the West like the Edmonton Oilers, Minnesota Wild and the always active Vegas Golden Knights.0:45 - Winnipeg Jets / Carolina Hurricanes/ New Jersey Devils5:15 - Washington Capitals11:45 - Florida Panthers18:30 - Toronto Maple Leafs 25:00 - Dallas Stars29:45:- Colorado Avalanche33:00 - Buy or Sell: Penguins Fire Sale38:30 - Buy or Sell: Nashville Predators40:00 - Buy or Sell: Utah is Looking to Buy43:00 - Minnesota Wild46:30 - Edmonton Oilers51:45 - Vegas Golden KnightsWant to hear more from Frank, Jason and the entire DFO team? Ep 352McDavid & Myers Face Suspensions & The Best Fits for JT Miller

Jason Gregor and Frank Seravalli are back with a fresh episode of The DFO Rundown as they took a look back at everything that went down over the weekend in the NHL.The big story is the end of the Oilers vs Canucks game on Saturday night as both Connor McDavid and Tyler Myers were ejected for cross-checks to the head of an opponent. Both now have hearings with the NHL DOPS, but should they be suspended the same number of games? The guys debated that and had a bigger picture conversation about the state of officiating in the league. They then got into the John Klingberg signing. Gregor gave some insight into where he could slot into the lineup and they talked about whether or not Klingberg can find his game with the Oilers. They then got into what’s been going down over in the Eastern Conference. The Devils and Bruins are both slipping with the New York Rangers starting to find their game. They talked about the recent hot streak for New York and dug into some of their concerns with what’s happening in New Jersey. That led to some conversation about the Simon Nemec comments. He didn’t ask for a trade, but he wants to play in the NHL and the Devils have a loaded right-side of their blueline. Could something give there? Frank gave his thoughts. They also talked about Kappo Kakko’s hot start to his Kraken career. The guys had a contentious debate a few weeks ago when the trade first went down so they revisited their conversation and their thoughts on the deal.Tyler then popped in for a new edition of Fill in the Blank where he asked the guys about best fits for JT Miller, the playoff chances for the Montreal Canadiens, and whether or not Jeff Skinner will finish out the year in Edmonton. They wrapped with some talk about potential injury replacements for the 4 Nations Faceoff with guys like Jason Robertson and Zach Hyman both shooting the lights out.1:10 - McDavid & Myers face hearings14:40 - John Klingberg signs in Edmonton17:55 - Eastern playoff picture20:50 - Concern in New Jersey?32:30 - Kakko & The Kraken35:40 - Fill in the Blank (JT Miller, Habs playoff chances, Skinner in Edmonton)47:00 - 4 Nations Injury ReplacementsWant to hear more from Frank, Jason and the entire DFO team? Ep 351The Deep Rooted Problems In Pittsburgh & The Blue Jackets Remarkable Run

Jason Gregor and Frank Seravalli are back with a fresh episode of The DFO Rundown as they went around the league and talked about some of the big stories that have developed over the last week. They started things off by talking about the Pittsburgh Penguins' decision to place veteran goalie Tristan Jarry on waivers. He’s just a few years removed from signing a long-term extension with the club and while he hasn’t performed up to that contract this season, both Frank and Jason took issue with the Penguins using him as a scapegoat. That led to a bigger-picture conversation about what Dubas has done since taking over as General Manager. From one of the worst stories in the league to one of the best, the guys then looked at the Columbus Blue Jackets, who are currently in a playoff spot in the Eastern Conference. Kirill Marchenko and Zach Werenski have both been spectacular and the team is playing unreal hockey. Can they hold onto this playoff spot?Tyler then popped in for a new edition of Buy or Sell where he asked the guys about where John Klingberg could potentially sign, the Chicago Blackhawks deadline plans, and whether or not Kyle Dubas will be around when the Penguins finally get back to the playoffs, whenever that might be.To wrap things up, they talked about Connor Hellebuyck running away with the Vezina Trophy and how much pressure the Winnipeg Jets are facing this year to go on a deep playoff run.1:10 - Penguins waive Jarry15:30 - Blue Jackets keep rolling24:00 - Buy or Sell (Klingberg, Hawks deadline plans, Dubas’ future)42:10 - Hellebuyck & the Jets47:00 - Frustration in TorontoWant to hear more from Frank, Jason and the entire DFO team? Frank and Jason are back with a fresh episode of The DFO Rundown to go through everything that went down over the weekend around the NHL. To start off the show, they talked about Cutter Gauthier’s much-anticipated return to Philadelphia. The Flyers faithful treated him exactly how you’d expect them to and the players definitely wanted to get their shots in. Frank was in the building and gave his take on it.They then talked about the Eastern playoff picture which is continuing to stay tight. It seems like every week there’s a new team stepping up and getting hot and right now, that team is the Detroit Red Wings. Jason gave his thoughts on how they’ve looked since making their coaching change. They also talked a bit about the Columbus Blue Jackets.Tyler then popped in for a new edition of Buy or Sell where he asked the guys about the final playoff spot in the West, which spiralled into an interesting conversation about the future of the St. Louis Blues. He also got their take on the top teams in the Metro Division and the Sabres’ chances of moving two young stars before the deadline. As the trade deadline continues to inch closer and closer and after Frank dropped his latest trade targets board last week, the guys decided to play a little deadline matchmaker and pick out a few good landing spots for Frank’s top targets.1:20 - Philly welcomes back Gauthier12:30 - The Red Wings heater & the Eastern playoffs17:35 - Blue Jackets deadline plans27:45 - Fill in the Blank41:00 - Canucks Deadline matchmaker47:00 - Landing spots for the top targets1:01:00 - The Oilers & their bluelineWant to hear more from Frank, Jason and the entire DFO team? Ep 349Do the Boston Bruins need to take a big swing?

Jason and Frank are back with a fresh episode of the DFO Rundown as they began to sink their teeth into the trade with market. With the deadline now less than two months away, things are only going to continue heating up.To start today’s pod, the guys talked about the Boston Bruins continued struggles. They’ve already made a coaching change this season, but do they need to find another way to shake things up? The guys debated that and it eventually led them to trying to figure out if the Bruins could find a way to get one Elias Pettersson or JT Miller from the Vancouver Canucks.Frank has an all new version of his Trade Targets board that is headlined by Islanders forward Brock Nelson. They discussed some potential landing spots for him and some other names in Frank’s top 25, like Sabres centre Dylan Cozens.Which teams will be buyers or sellers is still up in the air a little bit, but there are some very interesting teams around the league. One of them is the Washington Capitals, their first half of the season would lead you to believe that they should be all in, but would they be willing to disrupt the chemistry that their group currently has?Tyler then popped in for a new edition of Buy or Sell where he asked the guys about the players on pace for 100-points, the Norris race, and what both the Rangers and Islanders could sell off at the deadline.3:40 - Are the Bruins a playoff team?14:40 - Are Boston & Vancouver good trade partners?21:00 - What’s the market for Dylan Cozens?24:30 - Nelson headlines trade targets board31:20 - What could the Capitals do?46:05 - Buy or Sell (Rangers, Islanders, Werenski, 100-pt players)Want to hear more from Frank, Jason and the entire DFO team? Ep 348Team USA Stays Golden

Frank and Jason are back with another episode of The DFO Rundown following a headline-filled weekend in the world of hockey. To kick things off, they talked about the World Juniors where Team USA captured gold for the second straight year. It’s the first time that the USA has accomplished that feat, which led to some talk about how they’re becoming a dominant hockey nation. They also talked about Finland’s impressive run and what’s wrong with Hockey Canada. They also raved about a few of the prospects that really showed out in the tournament, a handful of which are all property of the Washington Capitals. From there, the guys talked about the Auston Matthews injury and how cautious the Leafs should be with their franchise player. The Anaheim Ducks have been making waves recently with their play on the ice and on Sunday, they signed Frank Vatrano to a pretty unique extension. While lots of people were applauding it, Frank had a bit of a different view.Tyler then popped in for a new edition of Fill in the Blank where he asked about Leon Draisaitl’s Hart Trophy odds, the Canucks conundrum with their star players, and the Montreal Canadiens' recent heater. To wrap up, Frank had a few more thoughts on Pettersson vs Miller and the guys talked about the Devils' recent struggles and the Golden Knights surge.3:30 - USA wins the World Juniors21:00 - Matthews injury situation26:15 - Ducks' recent run & the Vatrano extension38:55 - Fill in the Blank (Canucks drama, Draisaitl for the Hart, Habs hot streak)57:54 - Pettersson vs Miller59:40 - Devils struggle & Golden Knights runWant to hear more from Frank, Jason and the entire DFO team? Ep 347The Red Wings Shake Things Up & Are The Rangers Dead?

After a brief holiday break, the boys are back with a fresh episode of The DFO Rundown and while the league was dormant for most of the last week, there was still plenty to get to today on the pod.To kick things off, Jason and Frank talked about the Detroit Red Wings’ decision to make a coaching change. For the just the second time in franchise history, the team has made an in-season coaching change and the guys debated if the teams' struggles had anything to do with the coach or if there is a bigger problem with the way that the roster in constructed. That led to some talk about the Eastern Conference playoff picture and the play of the Ottawa Senators. The Senators front office nailed some big moves this summer, some of which weren’t viewed very positively at the time, while the moves that the Red Wings have made just haven’t worked out.Of course, the eight seed in the East is really only open because the New York Rangers continue to struggle. Should they be the next to make a coaching change? Jason and Frank debated that and then had a conversation about how much of the blame should lay at the feet of GM Chris Drury. They then went out West and talked about the run that the Los Angeles Kings have been on. Should Jim Hiller be in the conversation for the Jack Adams? Why aren’t more people talking about the insane season that 37-year-old Anze Kopitar is putting together? There are plenty of intriguing storylines out in Hollywood.Tyler then popped in for a new edition of Buy or Sell where he asked the guys about the who the best team in the East is, the Calder trophy odds, and Alex OVechkin’s chase of the all time goal record. They then wrapped up with some talk about a few milestones that were hit over the weekend.0:55 - Red Wings fire Lalonde6:27 - The Eastern playoff picture16:55 - Are the Rangers dead?28:40 - The Kings recent run41:05 - Buy or Sell49:00 - Weekend MilestonesYou can get involved with all the NHL futures action over on bet365 by using the promo code NATION at bet365.comConnect with us on ⬇️TwitterInstagramWebsiteDaily Faceoff Merch Hosted on Acast. Ep 346What’s going on in Vancouver?

Jason Gregor and Frank Seravalli sat down for one last podcast before their Christmas Break and to kick things off, they talked about some of their favourite winter activities and Gregor tried to sell Frank on a few that he hasn’t tried yet like snowshoeing and going on a dog sled. They then got into the big drama that’s happening with the Vancouver Canucks. The rift between JT Miller and Elias Pettersson has really caught the publics attention but Frank says that this is nothing new. Could it get to the point where the Canucks need to move on from one of the two players for the sake of their locker room? Frank gave his thoughts. From there, they talked about some teams that are heading in totally different directions in the month of December. The Dallas Stars have been ice cold of late and while injuries have played a part, the guys discussed if there’s something off with the Stars this season. Ep 345Kakko goes to the Kraken & the Habs add Carrier

It was a wild evening in the NHL as three trades went down in the matter of a few hours. Frank and Jason broke it all down today on a new episode of The DFO Rundown. They started with the deal that saw Alexandre Carrier go from the Nashville Predators to the Montreal Canadiens in exchange for Justin Barron. The guys talked about why the rebuilding Canadiens wanted to get an older, more expensive defenseman and whether or not Barron is a project worth taking on for the Preds. They then got to the Kappo Kakko trade as the Rangers moved the former second overall pick to the Seattle Kraken in exchange for a package that includes defenseman Will Borgen. Gregor likes the move for Seattle and thinks that Kakko still has some upside. Frank thinks the upside is limited and thinks the Rangers did well in this deal. They quickly touched on the small trade that the Pittsburgh Penguins made and then they talked a bit about the run that the Utah Hockey Club has been on. Are they capable of being a playoff team this year?Tyler then popped in for another edition of Buy or Sell where he asked the guys about the teams that are currently leading their division, the Penguins run and whether or not we’ll see another trade before tonight’s roster freeze. To wrap up the pod, they talked a little about Christmas plans, their youth hockey coaching experiences and they quickly touched on the Vancouver Canucks and their potential plans ahead of the roster freeze.1:20 - Preds move Carrier to Montreal11:55 - Kraken add Kakko22:30 - Joseph goes back to Pittsburgh25:05 - Utah’s on a run31:30 - Buy or Sell52:15 - Current state of the CanucksShoutout to our friends at Fountain Tire: https://www.fountaintire.com/promotions/?utm_source=tnn&utm_medium=podcast&utm_campaign=fountainConnect with us on ⬇️TwitterInstagramWebsiteDaily Faceoff Merch Hosted on Acast. Ep 344New York State of Despair

To kick off a new edition of The DFO Rundown, Jason and Frank sunk their teeth into the latest surrounding the New York Rangers, who continue to struggle. GM Chris Drury tried to shake things up by trading Captain Jacob Trouba and it hasn’t sparked the team the way that they had hoped. Will someone pay for these struggles with their job? Or will the Rangers try to see this through with their current group? The guys debated it.From there, they went to upstate New York and talked about the Sabres ten game losing streak. Is it time for a change at the top in Buffalo? Frank thinks it might be but also wasn’t willing to say that their season is over. Things aren’t working and that is a fact. The Sabres will need to change something soon. They then went out west and talked about the comments that Vancouver Canucks Head Coach Rick Tocchet following the teams loss this weekend. Was Tocchet right to call out his team? The guys discussed it. Frank thinks the Canucks have an issue on their blueline and wondered if they should have been in on the Cam Fowler trade talks. That then led them to breakdown the deal that did happen between the Blues and Ducks.Tyler then popped in for a new edition of Fill in the Blank where he asked them about the Ottawa Senators playoff chances, who the truly elite teams are in the West, and which team could be next to make a trade. After that, they talked about the MVP race and a pair of teams in the Eastern Conference who are continuing to play well after strong starts to the season.1:05 - Rangers struggles continue16:10 - Can the Sabres turn it around?25:05 - Tocchet’s post game comments30:00 - Cam Fowler moves to St. Louis34:30 - Fill in the Blank35:50 - The MVP Race54:00 - The Devils start56:30 - The Capitals continued runShoutout to our friends at Fountain Tire: https://www.fountaintire.com/promotions/?utm_source=tnn&utm_medium=podcast&utm_campaign=fountainConnect with us on ⬇️TwitterInstagramWebsiteDaily Faceoff Merch Hosted on Acast. Ep 343Is it time for big changes in Nashville?

Frank and Jason are back with a fresh episode of The DFO Rundown as they go around the league and touch on some of the bigger stories that are floating around. To start the pod, they talked about the Vancouver Canucks, who welcomed back Thatcher Demko to the lineup and are expected to have JT Miller back by the end of the week. Could the Canucks start to gain some momentum now that they have some key pieces back? One team that has not been gaining any sort of momentum is the Nashville Predators. They are still sitting at the bottom of the league after spending like drunken sailors over the summer. Frank speculated on whether or not a coaching change is needed while Gregor talked about how they need to just accept fate this year and take whatever draft pick they get. They also quickly touched on Trevor Zegras’ knee injury before bringing in Tyler Yaremchuk for Buy or Sell where he got the guys take on a few of the major awards that appear to have clear front runners at the one-third mark of the season. They wrapped things up by each giving their five true Stanley Cup contenders. The guys were pretty aligned with who they had but there were some interesting debates about the teams they omitted.2:20 - Canucks get Miller & Demko back9:20 - Preds keep slipping23:00 - Ducks & Zegras24:00 - Buy or Sell41:10 - Who are the Cup contenders?Shoutout to our friends at Fountain Tire: https://www.fountaintire.com/promotions/?utm_source=tnn&utm_medium=podcast&utm_campaign=fountainConnect with us on ⬇️TwitterInstagramWebsiteDaily Faceoff Merch Hosted on Acast. Ep 342What’s Next In The Big Apple?

Frank and Jason are back with a fresh edition of The DFO Rundown and to kick things off today, they discussed what went down on Friday with the New York Rangers as they made a pair of significant moves. First, they traded their Captain Jacob Trouba to the Anaheim Ducks and managed to get out of his entire contract then just a few hours later, they came to an agreement with franchise goalie Igor Shesterkin, which was the richest contract ever given to a goaltender. With all things considered, was Friday a win for GM Chris Drury? Or is there now pressure to add? The guys discussed that and also talked about why the Ducks wanted to make this move. The other piece of news from late last week was the third coaching change of the regular season. The Chicago Blackhawks fired Luke Richardson after just over two years behind their bench and replaced him with Anders Sorensen. That led to some talk about how the Blackhawks are handling their rebuild and whehter or not they’re on track in the Connor Bedard era.Tyler then popped in for Fill in the Blank where he asked the guys a little bit more about the Ducks plans and also how much longer Blackhawks fans will have to wait until they’re finally watching their team back in the playoffs. To wrap it up, Jason talked about the Eastern Conference playoff picture as things begin to tighten up. Can the Penguins actually stay in the hunt? Out West, Frank had some questions about the Dallas Stars.1:10 - Rangers trade Trouba11:40 - Shesterkin’s record extension21:50 - Blackhawks fire Richardson33:20 - Fill in the Blank41:00 - Eastern playoff picture46:20 - Western playoff picture1:02:10 - Board of Governors previewWant to hear more from Frank, Jason and the entire DFO team? Ep 341The Snubs & Surprises From The Four Nations Roster Reveals

The Four Nations Rosters have officially been announced with roughly two months to go before the tournament will get going. That's where Jason and Frank began on today’s edition of The DFO Rundown. They started by talking about who who have been considered the last cuts for both Team USA and Team Canada. Players like Zach Hyman, Tage Thompson, Evan Bouchard, and Cole Caufield are the names that immediately got brought up, but Frank also thought a player like Jason Robertson deserved more love in the conversation. They also broke down some of the flaws with each team’s selection process. After breaking down each roster, Tyler jumped in for a new edition of Buy or Sell where he asked the guys about whether or not the Nashville Predators would consider a coaching change, if the Los Angeles Kings are legit contenders in the West, and whether or not Auston Matthews can work his way back into the goal scoring race. After that, Jason and Frank went around the NHL and talked about the Trevor Zegras injury, Mitch Marner’s production, and the David Jiricek trade that went down last weekend.4:50 - USA last cuts10:00 - Canada’s big omissions20:20 - USA snubs32:00 - Buy or Sell (Preds, Kings, Matthews)41:15 - Who’s the favourite at the Four Nations?43:30 - Zegras injury46:00 - Marners’s future52:10 - Jiricek tradeWant to hear more from Frank, Jason and the entire DFO team? Ep 340A Final Look at the big 4 Nations Roster Decisions

Happy Thanksgiving! Jason and Frank recorded a fresh episode of the podcast as the long weekend in the USA gets going. After some talk about the football schedule and Frank’s favourites parts of the holiday, the guys got into some talk about the toughest decisions that each team at the upcoming 4 Nations Faceoff is facing. This is the final podcast before the teams are going to be officially announced so they went through all four teams and talked about some of the bubble players that could end up making the cut. They started with Team USA where the goaltending seems locked in but there are a handful of open spots when it comes to both the forwards and defense. Players like Tage Thompson, Zach Werenski, and Chris Krieder are some of the names sparking up the most debate. For Team Canada, they discussed who the fourth-line centre should be with names like John Tavares, Connor Bedard, Nick Suzuki and Mark Schiefele all being possibilities. On the blueline, they debated the chances that someone like Evan Bouchard has of being on the team. The goaltending is obviously a soft spot for Canada and Jason and Frank gave their thoughts on who they could end up going with between the pipes. After going through the projected rosters for Finland and Sweden, they brought in Tyler Yaremchuk for a new edition of Fill in the Blank where he asked the guys about the playoff picture at the quarter way mark of the season and the trade rumours swirling around the New York Rangers. 4:40 - USA’s 4 Nations Roster12:15 - Canada’s 4 Nations Roster28:55 - Sweden’s 4 Nations Roster39:35 - Fill in the Blank (Rangers, Bedard, playoff teams)Want to hear more from Frank, Jason and the entire DFO team? Ep 339Jim Montgomery Lands in St. Louis

We got some big news in the NHL over the weekend as the St. Louis Blue fired Drew Bannister just 22 games into his Head Coaching career and promptly hired Jim Montgomery, who was let go from his job behind the Boston Bruins bench just five days earlier. That’s where Jason and Frank began with today’s edition of the show as they talked about why Blues GM Doug Armstrong made this move and the decision to give Montgomery a five-year contract. Can the Blues salvage this season? Is the future bright? The guys debated it.From there, they talked about the struggling Pittsburgh Penguins. The team seems lifeless and now the discussion is becoming what exactly should Kyle Dubas do this season? Frank believes they’re in the mix on David Jiricek, but isn’t quite sure what assets they’d be willing to give up.After a brief little bit of relationship advice from Gregor, they brought in Tyler for a new edition of Buy or Sell where he asked them about a couple of teams that are in interesting spots when it comes to the playoff picture. To wrap up the pod, Joe Thornton got to see his number #19 go to the rafters in San Jose over the weekend and the guys wanted to talk about Thornton’s legacy both in the game and in the San Jose community.1:05 - Montgomery lands in St. Louis15:50 - Pittsburgh’s struggles continue26:30 - Hurricanes goaltending30:00 - Buy or Sell40:55 - Jumbo Joe jersey retirement47:50 - Senators keep slippingWant to hear more from Frank, Jason and the entire DFO team? Ep 338The Trade Market Begins To Form

The first trade targets list of the season has dropped and that means it’s officially time to start talking about what big moves we could see this year! Frank and Jason went through some of the more intriguing players on the board and which ones are more likely to move than others. Before they dug into that, they talked about the Nashville Predators and their continued struggles. Last night, they were assessed a minor penalty for not icing the proper starting lineup and wound up getting shutout by the Seattle Kraken. That led to the guys talking about the playoff picture in the West and which teams will find ways to stay in the conversation this year and who could fall out in the next few months. They then got into the trade talk and dug into Frank’s list. They started with Joel Farabee who is on the board even though he has three more years on his current deal. Frank believes he has 35+ goal potential and he just needs to be put in the right situation. They also talked about Michael Matheson, who Gregor thinks is the most intriguing defenseman on the board. Is it smart for the Habs to move on from their best defenseman though? They also had a long conversation about Blue Jackets forward Mathieu Olivier. Gregor thinks he would be a great add for a contender but also thinks the Blue Jackets would be foolish to move him while Frank thinks they should cash in on his value. There was some significant injury news this week too as the Capitals are going to be without Alex Ovechkin for the next few weeks. The timing could not have been any worse as he was on an absolute heater. Frank gave an update on when he could come back today.Tyler then popped in for a new edition of Fill in the Blank where he asked the guys about some award long-shots and the Predators playoff chances. They wrapped with some talk about the Toronto Maple Leafs and the run they’ve been on despite their injuries. They also gave their thoughts on the Jim Montgomery firing in Boston.1:05 - Predators struggles continue10:45 - Joel Farabee’s availability16:40 - Could the Habs trade Mike Matheson?22:00 - CBJ & Mathieu Olivier32:10 - Ovechkin’s injury33:35 - Fill in the Blank44:40 - Montgomery firingWant to hear more from Frank, Jason and the entire DFO team? Ep 337Alex Ovechkin isn’t slowing down & Ryan Reaves Gets 5-Games

Jason and Frank are back with a fresh episode of The DFO Rundown to recap what was a wildly eventful weekend in the NHL. To start, they talked about Alex Ovechkin’s ridiculous production. The 39-year-old is on pace for 111 points and his projected date to pass Wayne Gretzky for the most goals of all time is getting closer and closer. The Capitals have been red-hot so far this season and it’s not just Ovechkin driving things. Frank pointed out that this team is looking very balanced. They also talked about another team in the Eastern Conference: the Carolina Hurricanes. They’re being driven by Martin Necas’ hot start and that created a big debate about whether or not he’s just a player on a hot-streak or a budding star. They then dug into the Ryan Reaves hit on Darnell Nurse, which resulted in Reaves getting a five-game suspension. Did the league get this right? Was the hit as bad as the social media commentary made it out to be? The guys talked about it.They also talked about the struggles in Chicago. The team is struggling to string together wins and even more surprisingly, Connor Bedard is struggling and it all came to a front on Saturday night as he was frustrated in his return to his hometown of Vancouver.Tyler then popped in for Buy or Sell where he asked the guys about a few futures bets he likes over at Bet365.They wrapped up the show with a follow up on their conversation from last week about limiting contract terms, the Flyers' bounce back over their last ten games and a surprising contender in the Calder Trophy race.1:00 - Ovechkin’s crazy pace9:20 - Necas’ hot start14:50 - Ryan Reaves suspension21:05 - Bedard & the Blackhawks struggle34:55 - Buy or Sell44:20 - Limiting contract term47:00 - Flyers bounce back52:30 - Dustin Wolf & the Flames$250 Fanatics Gift Card Giveaway: https://www.dailyfaceoff.com/contests/speak-up-and-scoreWant to hear more from Frank, Jason and the entire DFO team? Ep 336What changes could the next CBA bring?

Frank is back from the GM Meetings and has some notes on what was discussed as some of the most influential minds in hockey got together. The league and the players association are getting close to having to negotiate a new CBA and that means each side is starting to have internal discussions about what they could want. That’s where the guys started today on the podcast and it led to some interesting debates about whether or not they could change the term limits for player contracts, how LTIR could change, and other things that could be changed in the next CBA.Tyler then popped in for a new edition of Fill in the Blank where he asked the guys who their quarter way Jack Adams winner would be and how many career points Connor McDavid will finish with when all is said and done. After that, they talked a little bit more about McDavid’s upcoming milestone as he closes in on 1000 career points. Frank talked about a few players in the 1000 point club who were maybe a little under appreciated. They wrapped up the show by talking about the next Hockey Hall of Fame class and who are the locks to get in. They debated Carey Price, Joe Thornton, Duncan Keith, Ryan Getzlaf, and Duncan Keith and their chances of getting in.2:20 - Term limits17:44 - How could LTIR change?32:40 - Fill in the Blank46:00 - Under Appreciated players in the 1k club52:00 - Next HHOF Class$250 Fanatics Gift Card Giveaway: https://www.dailyfaceoff.com/contests/speak-up-and-scoreWant to hear more from Frank, Jason and the entire DFO team? Ep 335Hall of Fame Weekend Recap & Ovechkin’s chase

Today on The DFO Rundown, Jason and Frank started off by talking about Hall of Fame weekend in Toronto. Frank was in attendance for the induction ceremony and talked about why this weekend is one his his favourites. Jeremy Roenick stole the show with his Mike Keenan urinal story which reminded Frank that he’s been through a similar experience. They also talked about some of the names eligible for the 2025 HHOF Class. From there, they moved on to Alex Ovechkin and the feverish pace he’s off to this season. The question is no longer “will he catch Wayne Gretzky?” it’s now “when will he catch him?” and as he continues to pile up the goals, there becomes a better and better chance that he actually breaks The Great One’s record in fewer games.Tyler then popped in for Buy or Sell where he asked the guys just how high the Winnipeg Jets could soar, how long it will take McDavid to get back into the top ten of league scoring, and whether or now we’ll see a coach get fired this month. After that, Gregor and Frank talked about Nathan MacKinnon’s crazy production this season and how even with that, the Avs continue to look mediocre.Frank wrapped up the pod by telling us what he’s expected to hear at the GM Meetings on Tuesday.1:10 - HHOF Weekend12:15 - Ovechkin’s record chase20:50 - Matthews injury & Leafs roster update22:15 - Buy or Sell (Penguins, Jets, McDavid)35:00 - MacKinnon’s crazy pace49:20 - GM Meetings preview$250 Fanatics Gift Card Giveaway: https://www.dailyfaceoff.com/contests/speak-up-and-scoreWant to hear more from Frank, Jason and the entire DFO team? Ep 334Can the Preds turn it around?

Jason Gregor and Frank Seravalli are back with another edition of of The DFO Rundown as they tackled some big stories from around the NHL. The one quote that dominated headlines this week was Predators GM Barry Trotz saying that if his team doesn’t turn it around he will start looking at his rebuilding plans. Things are ugly in Nashville after they spent more than any other team this offseason, can it turn around soon? They gave their thoughts. They then got into another struggling team in the West. The Anaheim Ducks were hoping to step out of their rebuild and start pushing for a playoff spot with their young core but it is not going to plan. Lukas Dostal is looking like a future star between the pipes but even with his elite play, they’re struggling to win. Does something need to change in Anaheim? Frank thinks so.Gregor then gave some quick stats before Tyler popped in with a fresh edition of Fill in the Blank brought to you by Bet365. He asked the guys about who the next team to make a trade will be, a pair of pending UFAs who are looking to get paid, and whether or not this years Stanley Cup winner could be a first time winner. They wrapped up by talking about the Seattle Kraken, who Frank dubbed “the New York Islanders of the west”. They can’t score and Frank thinks there needs to be a bigger sense of urgency to find themselves a star player. Ep 333The NHLPA Acknowledges CTE & Alex Ovechkin Can’t Stop Scoring

Frank and Jason are back with a fresh episode of the podcast following a wild Halloween weekend around the league. To start, they talked about their weekends which featured football and costume parties. It was a wildly unique weekend recap from the guys.Frank also spent some time in Boston talking with NHLPA Executive Director Marty Walsh. It’s the first time that they’ve acknowledged CTE and have formed a new board. Franke explained why this is significant and what the NHLPA hopes to accomplish.Sticking with Boston, it was a drama-filled weekend for the Bruins. While they won both of their games, there was more drama as Jim Montgomery benched David Pastrnak for the entire third period after a turnover. Frank wondered if it was a bridge too far. They then went out west and talked about the Seattle Kraken, who might be open to trading a forward. They also talked about the Carolina Hurricanes and the red-hot Martin Necas. Plus, Alex Ovechkin has firing home pucks like vintage Ovi and the Caps are also racking up the wins.Tyler then popped in for a fresh edition of Buy or Sell, brought to you by Bet365. Ep 332Can the Avs & Oilers survive their injury woes?

To begin an all new edition of The DFO Rundown, Jason and Frank talked about a pair of teams that are currently fighting through some pretty big injury problems. For the Colorado Avalanche, the sheer number of players they’re missing is the problem. With the likes of Ross Colton, Arturri Lehkonen and Jonathan Drouin joining Gabriel Landeskog and Valeri Nichuskin on the injured reserve, they’re basically missing everyone in their top-six with the exception of Mikko Rantanen and Nathan MacKinnon. Can Jared Bednar and company get through this stretch without putting themselves too far behind in the Central Division? The Oilers are only dealing with one injury but it’s a big one as they’ll be without Connor McDavid for the next 2-3 weeks. Gregor wondered if this could be a wakeup call for the team while Frank talked about the teams lack of reaction when their Captain went down. From there, they talked a bit about the Columbus Blue Jackets, who are suddenly looking like an offensive powerhouse. They also looked at Kyle Connor’s remarkable start to the season, which Gregor thinks will result in a 50-goal season. That led them to talking about Team USA’s potential roster at the Four Nation’s Faceoff and some of the tough decisions that they’re going to need to make.Tyler then popped in for a new edition of Fill in the Blank where he asked the guys about a pair of struggling Eastern Conference teams in the Boston Bruins and Detroit Red Wings and also, which NHL franchises they’d be buying shares in right now if they could.1:20 - Avs & their injuries9:55 - Oilers lose McDavid15:05 - Blue Jackets offensive firepower22:00 - Team USA’s roster decisions42:30 - Fill in the BlankWant to hear more from Frank, Jason and the entire DFO team? Ep 331Steven Stamkos Returns to Tampa Bay

Jason and Frank are back with another fresh episode of The DFO Rundown. The guys kicked off today’s show with some drama in Long Island. The Islanders are seemingly having some issues between Head Coach, Patrick Roy, and GM, Lou Lamoriello. They then jump right into the Maple Leafs extension of Jake McCabe. (5 Years - $4.51M)Tonight is a big night for Steven Stamkos, heading back to Tampa for the first time since being traded. Will this trade end up being a smart move? We suspect a warm welcome for Stamkos tonight. The guys then dive deeper into the Atlantic division to discuss the rough start to the season for both Boston and Buffalo. Should NHL teams have a 3rd professional goalie on the roster that travels with the team and fills in when necessary in emergency situations? Ep 330Are The Minnesota Wild Legit?

Jason and Frank are back with another fresh episode of The DFO Rundown. The guys kicked off today’s show with a little bit of talk about Halloween including how they handle giving out candy at their house. They then got into some talk about a pair of teams who are continuing their hot streaks to start the year: the Calgary Flames and the Minnesota Wild.Frank admitted that he should have been higher on the Wild and listed the reasons why they will be a playoff team this season. Gregor talked about how impressive it’s been that they’ve remained competitive even with their dead cap issues. As for the Flames, they’re proving that they won’t be a bottom-feeder. Frank says that they were never capable of truly bottoming out. The guys also talked about one of the best stories of the season in Justin Kirkland, or as Flames fans are calling him “Kirkland Signature”.From there, they talked about Cale Makar’s start to the season and how big the gap is between the Avs defenseman and the rest of the NHL. They then talked about the Leafs' start to the year, their improved blueline, and what they’re going to do with their goaltending situation. That led to Gregor’s take on the Montreal Canadiens blueline. He thinks the Habs made a mistake coming into the season with as young and small of a defence as they have, he also thinks that they’re playing Lane Hutson far too much. Frank disagreed with the Hutson take and explained why the hate he’s been getting is very unjustified.Tyler then swung by for a fresh edition of Fill in the Blank, presented by Bet365. He asked the guys about which team has changed their perception of them the most, the rash of injuries that the Utah Hockey Club has been dealing with, and some early season regrets.8:00 - Flames & Wild off to hot starts17:00 - Makar vs Hughes21:30 - The Leafs start to the year25:35 - Canadiens blueline38:40 - Fill in the BlankWant to hear more from Frank, Jason and the entire DFO team? Ep 329Are tensions high in Pittsburgh? PLUS: A look back at the 2020 NHL Draft

Jason and Frank have a fresh episode of The DFO Rundown for you to begin your week with. After some banter about Halloween, the guys got into the hockey talk and they began today’s show with a bit of a different vibe as they decided to look back at the 2020 NHL Draft and each pick their starting five from that class.Players like Alexis Lafreniere and Tim Stutzle are both locked up front, and Brock Faber and Jake Sanderson are on the blueline as well. After that, there are some pretty good debates including who the final forward should be, who will go down as the third-best defenseman from this class, and who will ultimately be the best goalie from the group. The final part about goaltending led them to a discussion about the current state of the Pittsburgh Penguins. Tristan Jarry was healthy scratched over the weekend as Joel Blomqvist continues to get starts. Mike Sullivan feels frustrated with his goaltending and as the Penguins struggle, Frank wondered about Sullivan’s future in the Steel City. After a brief discussion about the idea of adding a full-time third goalie for every team in the league, the guys turned to the final perfect team in the NHL: the Winnipeg Jets. Connor Hellebuyck has been dialed in but should the Jets be trying to lessen his workload? The guys debated it.Tyler then popped in with Buy or Sell where he asked about a fun debate that was posed on Daily Faceoff on Sunday, Sam Bennett, and how many 100-point teams there could be in the Pacific Division.8:00 - Revisiting the 2020 Draft19:30 - Penguins, their goaltending & Mike Sullivan26:30 - Adding a third goalie32:35 - Jets stay perfect39:55 - Oilers offense stays cold42:30 - Predators struggles46:30 - Buy or SellWant to hear more from Frank, Jason and the entire DFO team? Ep 328History in Pittsburgh & Goalie Woes Around The League

Jason and Frank are back with another new edition of The DFO Rundown as they broke down the biggest headlines from around the NHL. Today, they begun with a pair of big milestone moments that went down last night in Pittsburgh as both Malkin and Crosby hit big numbers. Talking about the Penguins' start to the year naturally led to some conversation about Tristan Jarry’s struggles, which continued last night. Do the Pens have a goalie problem? Or is Jarry now strictly the backup? From there, the guys got into some other goalie situations around the league including Georgiev in Colorado, Ingram in Utah and Ullmark in Ottawa. Yes, it’s still early but there are some teams that are already concerned with their crease situation.Next, they talked about Gregor’s latest research project: is it easier to score 30 goals in today’s NHL? He made some interesting points regarding scoring trends in the league. One hot topic from the first few weeks of the season: what is, and isn’t, goalie interference? A handful of fan bases feel like they’re getting robbed of goals and when you go back through the goals that have been wiped off the board and the goals that have stood, the standard appears to be a little fuzzy. Jason and Frank gave their thoughts on whether or not the league will be able to find a solution to this.Tyler popped in for a new edition of Fill in the Blank where he talked about Matvei Michkov, the Leafs and the list of teams without wins.3:30 - Malkin& Crosby milestones8:20 - Georgiev & the Avs13:20 - Ingram & Utah18:45 - Predators early season struggles25:40 - Ullmark update27:15 - 30-goal conversation36:20 - Goalie interference44:30 - Fill in the BlankWant to hear more from Frank, Jason and the entire DFO team? Ep 327The State of the Goaltending Market

Frank and Jason are back with a fresh edition of the DFO Rundown as the first weekend of the regular season is behind us. Now that every team has taken to the ice a handful of times, some fascinating storylines have emerged. They began the show by talking about the Pittsburgh Penguins first few games and the goalie controversy that could be brewing there. Head Coach Mike Sullivan had some interesting comments on the decision to play Joel Blomqvist over Tristan Jarry. That conversation eventually led them to the Colorado Avalanche, who also have some issues with their goaltending and from there, it turned into a bigger conversation about the state of the goaltending market. Frank had some thoughts about the Sergei Bobrovsky deal and they also talked about the Joey Daccord contract. They also talked about a couple of teams that are off to sluggish starts in the Nashville Predators and Edmonton Oilers. Is there a reason to be concerned in either market?Tyler then popped in for a new edition of Buy or Sell, presented by Bet365. He asked the guys about Dylan Guenther’s red-hot start, the Oilers' struggles, the Habs’ strong start, and whether or not Jack Eichel can be a 100-point player.3:15 - The state of the Penguins7:40 - Georgiev and the Avs11:30 - The goaltending market24:00 - Utah starts hot28:15 - Predators & Oilers stumble35:30 - The Habs offense40:00 - Buy or Sell57:20 - Week 2 storylinesWant to hear more from Frank, Jason and the entire DFO team? Ep 326 Alexis Lafreniere’s Next Deal & The Sabres Struggles

Frank and Jason are back with a fresh episode of the pod. Pretty much every team in the league has played a game now as the season is a few days old and there are plenty of storyline developing. They started off by talking about the effects of Hurricane Milton on the Tampa Bay Lightning and why the organization decided to postpone a game rather than have emergency resources be used trying to make it happen. Frank had some info on what’s been happening behind the scenes. From there, they got into Alexis Lafreniere’s hot start to the season and potential extension talks between the former first overall pick and the New York Rangers. He’s taken a big step forward over the last couple of seasons and now, the Rangers might have to pay up.They also hit on the Maple Leaf's first game against their former Head Coach Sheldon Keefe, the Buffalo Sabres 0-3 start to the season, and the new look LA Kings. They also hit on what a bounce back season could look like for both Pierre-Luc Dubois and Jonathan Huberdeau.Tyler then popped in for a new edition of Fill in the Blank where he asked the guys about 100 point teams, Shane Wright’s future in Seattle, and the group of veteran defenseman who are still unsigned. They wrapped up by talking about the drama that’s been happening on the waiver wire with Raphael Lavoie and gave their thoughts on where he ultimately ends up.1:20 - Impacts of Hurricane Milton7:00 - Lafreniere extension16:15 - Berube and Keefe faceoff19:00 - Sabres struggles22:50 - Can Dubois hit 70-pts?26:50 - Jake Oettinger’s next deal35:00 - Can Huberdeau bounce back?38:20 - Fill in the Blank50:00 - Raphael Lavoie waiver dramaWant to hear more from Frank, Jason and the entire DFO team? Ep 325A New Era Begins in Utah

Hockey season is finally here. The offseason is over and after a few games in Europe to begin the season, the other 30 teams in the league are ready to start their regular season campaigns. To kick things off, Frank Seravalli flew to Utah where the first game in franchise history will take place tonight. They talked about the change that the players are going through this season after moving from Arizona and also, how committed Utah’s ownership and management is to making sure this is a long-term success. From there, they went out East where they talked about the Tampa Bay Lightning. Of course, Tampa Bay and Utah linked up for a big trade this summer as Utah acquired Mikael Sergachev from the Bolts. Frank thinks one of these two teams will make the playoffs and Gregor doesn’t think that bold prediction is that much of a reach. We also got some big news over the weekend as the Boston Bruins and Jeremy Swayman agreed to terms on a long-term deal just in time for the teams first game. It got ugly, but they found common ground. Did either side come out of this a winner? Or is it a fair deal? They then got into the first two games of the NHL’s regular season, which saw the Buffalo Sabres fall to 0-2. There is a lot of pressure on the Sabres to contend this season but Frank thinks that they can still be a playoff team and says their blueline could actually be what powers them.Tyler then popped in for a new edition of Buy or Sell presented by Bet365. He asked the guys about the Stanley Cup odds, what to expect from Alex Ovechkin this season and this years rookie class.1:15 - Utah welcomes the NHL9:00 - Can they make the playoffs?14:00 - Could the Lightning miss the playoffs?18:40 - Swayman & Bruins find common ground26:40 - Sabres come out of the gates slow38:55 - Buy or Sell53:40 - Fast facts & predictionsWant to hear more from Frank, Jason and the entire DFO team? Ep 324Pacific Division Preview

With October knocking at the door, Jason and Frank wrapped up their division previews by breaking down how they expect things to play out in the Pacific Division. They started off at the bottom of the division, where last season was miserable for the likes of San Jose and Anaheim, but there are reasons for optimism heading into the 2024-25 season. The Sharks of course had the first overall pick and will have Macklin Celebrini in the lineup when the season begins. On top of that, GM Mike Grier added a handful of veterans over the course of the offseason. Frank and Jason talked about how much they think the Sharks can improve this season. The Ducks on the other hand were trying to take a step last year and it didn’t happen. Can this year be different? They then got to the next tier, which features the Seattle Kraken and Calgary Flames. They both finished tied with 81 points last year but after the offseason, they seem to be going in different directions. The Flames are in the middle of a rebuild and this year could get ugly and the Kraken spent big in the offseason and have dreams of getting back to the playoffs. After that, Tyler popped in for a new edition of Fill in the Blank, brought to you by Bet365.To wrap things up, they looked at the four teams that made the playoffs last year. With the injury to Drew Doughty, which is expected to keep him out for a few months, could the Kings be in danger of missing the playoffs? Will the Canucks be able to keep up their level from last season? Will a healthy Golden Knights team contend for a division title? How will the Oilers handle the pressure of being Stanley Cup favourites? Jason and Frank answered all of those questions.1:50 - Patrick Laine4:50 - San Jose Sharks12:30 - Anaheim Ducks18:55 - Seattle Kraken23:40 - Calgary Flames32:30 - Fill in the Blank43:30 - Los Angeles Kings53:55 - Vegas Golden Knights1:02:15 - Edmonton Oilers1:10:40 - Vancouver CanucksWant to hear more from Frank, Jason and the entire DFO team? Ep 323Atlantic Division Preview

The DFO Rundown division previews continued to roll on and today, the guys zeroed in on the Atlantic Division. For the last few seasons, the division has been relatively top-heavy with a handful of legit Stanley Cup contenders and the rest of the division trying to step out of rebuilds. Will the 2024-25 season feature more of the same? Or can one of the bottom four teams finally take a big step forward? They kicked things off with the Montreal Canadiens, who didn’t have a crazy summer by any means but their roster does look pretty different. On top of acquiring Patrik Laine from the Blue Jackets, they’ll be welcoming back Kirby Dach, who missed most of last season with an injury and they could have Lane Hutson in the lineup. Frank thinks the Habs could really surprise people. The Ottawa Senators are certainly facing more pressure to get back into the playoffs. Frank has previously been a big believer in the Sens but is starting to get skeptical that this core can get the job done. One reason to believe: Linus Ullmark. The Senators should finally be getting good goaltending. The Sabres and Red Wings have both been trying to get out of their rebuilding phase for a few seasons now and if it doesn’t work this season, you have to wonder if major changes will be coming. Can either break through? The guys gave their takes.Tyler popped in for a new edition of Buy or Sell where he asked about Auston Matthew’s goal totals and just how deep this division is.After that, they started talking about the playoff teams from last year. All four of the Bruins, Lightning, Maple Leafs, and Panthers went through some pretty big changes over the summer. Will any on the big guns fall out of the mix this season?Frank and Jason gave their thoughts on that along with an update on the Jeremy Swayman contract negotiations. They wrapped up the show by giving their official Atlantic Division playoff predictions.4:10 - Montreal Canadiens14:20 - Ottawa Senators25:10 - Buffalo Sabres32:25 - Detroit Red Wings46:10 - Tampa Bay Lightning51:20 - Toronto Maple Leafs55:15 - Boston Bruins59:15 - Florida PanthersWant to hear more from Frank, Jason and the entire DFO team? Ep 322Central Division Preview

Today, Jason Gregor and Frank Seravalli continued their division preview series with a fresh episode of The DFO Rundown. Today’s episode focused on the Central Division, which saw a handful of teams that made some major offseason changes. Before they got into that, they welcomed a new partner into the show: Fountain Tire. That led to some questions that Frank had about how winter tires work up in Canada. They also talked about the news of James Van Riemsdyk signing in Columbus. Frank says it’s the first of a few expected moves by the Blue Jackets. They kicked off the division preview by talking about the Chicago Blackhawks. What are expectations for Connor Bedard? How many rookies will be in the lineup? Did GM Kyle Davidson handle the offseason correctly? They answer all of those questions. They then jumped into the NHL’s newest franchise: the Utah Hockey Club. GM Bill Armstrong had a pretty busy offseason as he basically revamped their entire blueline. Will that along with a collection of young forwards be enough to push them into the playoffs? Also, could their new home give the players a boost? They also hit on the St. Louis Blues and Minnesota Wild, who were both on the outside of the playoff picture last year. Neither made massive waves over the summer and are banking on internal improvement. The guys broke down whether or not that was the right play.Tyler then jumped in for a new edition of Fill in the Blank, where he asked the guys about Mikko Rantanen’s next deal, Utah’s look heading into year one, and the chances of their being four 100-point teams in the division. To wrap it up, they went through the four playoff teams from last year, starting with the Nashville Predators, who spent big in free agency and brought in Steven Stamkos, Jonathan Marchessault, and Brady Skjei. Winning the offseason doesnt always translate to winning in the regular season, could that be the case in Nashville? They then moved on to the Winnipeg Jets, who are running it back once again with the same core group of players. Then there’s the Dallas Stars and Colorado Avalanche, who are both once again looking like the class of the division.4:20 - News of the week (JVR in CBJ)6:40 - Chicago Blackhawks15:55 - Utah Hockey Club23:23 - Minnesota Wild32:15 - St. Louis Blues39:30 - More offer sheets coming?42:30 - Fill in the Blank49:00 - Nashville Predators56:30 - Colorado Avalanche1:01:00 - Winnipeg Jets1:07:25 - Dallas StarsWant to hear more from Frank, Jason and the entire DFO team? Ep 321Metro Division Preview

With the NHL regular season just a month away, Jason and Frank began their division preview series. Today, they took a look at the Metro Division. They started at the bottom of the division and broke down the Columbus Blue Jackets. It’s been a heartbreaking few weeks for the organization and it will be an emotional season following the passing of Johnny Gaudreau. The guys talked about their outlook heading into the season. From there, they talked about the New Jersey Devils, who seem primed to be one of the most improved teams in the NHL coming off a miserable 2023-24 campaign that saw them post just 81 points. Their offseason was busy, but did they do enough to be a legitimate Stanley Cup contender? They then moved on to the two teams that reside in Pennsylvania. The two were split on what to expect out of the Philadelphia Flyers, who surprised a lot of people last season. The Penguins are desperately trying to get back into the Stanley Cup Playoffs, but is their roster good enough to compete in a strong Eastern Conference?Tyler popped in for a new edition of Buy or Sell where he asked the guys about legendary play-by-play voices, the new PWHL names, and how balanced the divisions are across the NHL.To wrap it up, they talked about the four playoff teams from last season in the Metro. Which one has the best chance of missing this season? Who deserves to be the favourite to win the division? They hit on those questions while breaking down the Islanders, Capitals, Hurricanes, and Rangers.1:35 - Unsigned free agents2:55 - Blue Jackets preview8:50 - New Jersey Devils22:00 - Philadelphia Flyers32:30 - Pittsburgh Penguins41:20 - Buy or Sell49:25 - Washington Capitals55:30 - New York Islanders1:00:40 - Carolina Hurricanes1:05:45 - New York RangersWant to hear more from Frank, Jason and the entire DFO team? Ep 320Remembering Johnny Gaudreau & Recapping Summer Headlines

Jason and Frank are back! After a summer hiatus, the boys returned to begin covering their fifth NHL season together on The DFO Rundown. Today’s pod began on a somber note as they remembered the lives of Johnny and Matthew Gaudreau. The two tragically lost their lives last week and the last few days has seen some very touching tributes from the Blue Jackets and Flames organizations.Frank, who is from the same area as the Gaudreaus, explained the special connection that the local community has to the brightest star they’ve ever produced. They then got into some of the big transactions that have occurred over the last few months. They started with the Leon Draisaitl extension in Edmonton. The superstar forward is committing to spending the remainder of his prime with the Oilers and while the number is significant, both Frank and Jason explained why this signing isn’t a big surprise and what this means for the future of his “ride or die” Connor McDavid. That then led them to the Seth Jarvis extension in Carolina, which came with a unique structure as it featured deferred money. Could this become a trend in the NHL? Frank had some insight into that. They also hit on the Patrik Laine trade, the Jeremy Swayman contract negotiations, and Tyler popped in for a new edition of Fill in the Blank.0:15 - Personal summer recaps6:32 - Remembering Johnny & Matthew Gaudreau17:30 - Draisaitl extends in Edmonton28:50 - Jarvis takes deferred money39:40 - Fill in the Blank (Laine deal, Sharks get Askarov, no extension for Crosby)47:05 - Swayman & the RFAsWant to hear more from Frank, Jason and the entire DFO team? Ep 319Michkov lands in Philly, Oilers Hire Bowman & Blue Jackets choose Evason

Frank and Jason are back after taking a few weeks off to enjoy their summers. While news hasn’t come in at any sort of rapid pace, there have still been some big stories that have dropped over the last two weeks and the guys wanted to pop on the podcast to break everything down.To start the show, they talked about what they’ve been up to so far during their summer breaks and both of them have been dialled into the 2024 summer games. They talked about their favourite events so far and Gregor talked about trying to do a little bit of diving on his own.To kick off the hockey talk, they dug into what’s been going on in Philadelphia so over the last week or so. After months of uncertainty, Matvei Michkov finally landed on American soil and will be with the Flyers for next season. It will no doubt give the team a big boost but Frank says that fans needs to be cautious when it comes to their expectations of the young Russian forward. GM Danny Briere also extended Travis Konecny, giving the forward an eight-year deal. Both Frank and Jason like the player, but did the Flyers pay too much for what his ceiling is?From there, they got into another Eastern Conference team that has been making moves: the Columbus Blue Jackets. They’ve signed a handful of young players and also filled their Head Coaching vacancy by hiring former Wild Head Coach Dean Evason. Can the team take a step forward next season? Or will there be more pain coming in Ohio? The other big story that broke last week was up in Edmonton, where the Oilers announced that Stan Bowman will be their new General Manager. This was a controversial decision by the Oilers and Frank wanted to explain why he thinks Bowman deserves a second chance.Tyler also popped in for a new edition of Fill in the Blank where he talked about the trade market, Patrik Laine’s future, and coaching hot seats heading into next season.6:05 - Flyers make moves (Konecny, Michkov)15:55 - Blue Jackets hire Evason18:50 - Bowman lands in Edmonton28:50 - Fill in the Blank (Laine, Necas, coaching hot seats)Want to hear more from Frank, Jason and the entire DFO team? Ep 318Recapping a wild week of offseason moves

After a quick one-week hiatus for the holidays, Jason and Frank are back with a fresh episode of the DFO Rundown as they look back at the week that was around the NHL.To start things off, they looked back at the early stages of free agency and gave a few teams that stuck out in both a positive and negative way. Both the guys really like what the New Jersey Devils have done so far this summer and that led Frank to make a very bold prediction about how next season will play out for the Devils. They also talked about the busy few days for the Washington Capitals, who got very aggressive in their attempt to re-tool their roster. On the negative side of things, they had takes on both the Carolina Hurricanes and Ottawa Senators, who both made some puzzling moves. They then got into the Steven Stamkos situation. The Lightning couldn’t find common ground with their long-time Captain and now, he’s off to Tennessee to join the Nashville Predators. Frank says the Bolts have made a huge mistake and Gregor agreed. Have the Lightning lost the plot a little bit? The guys discussed. They also hit on the New York Islanders and Buffalo Sabres before talking about a few of the more active teams out West. The Predators obviously came away from the day feeling like winners while the Utah Hockey Club did a great job building up their blueline in just a couple of hours on day two of the draft.Tyler then popped in with a new edition of Buy or Sell where he asked the guys about the two teams in Alberta and who they have as their Stanley Cup favourite out in the Eastern Conference.5:10 - Free Agency standouts (Devils, Hurricanes)10:00 - The Capitals' big load up15:55 - Stamkos leaves Tampa22:30 - Were the Sabres too quiet?25:00 - McLeod for Savoie trade34:50 - Who had the best summer in the West?Want to hear more from Frank, Jason and the entire DFO team? Ep 317A Full Free Agency Preview

We are about 12 hours away from the beginning of NHL free agency and there are a number of major storylines that are really coming down to the wire. From Steven Stamkos in Tampa Bay to Sam Reinhart in Florida, there are a number of negotiations that are still ongoing that will have a major effect on how things play out on Monday as the market opens up.Jason and Frank kicked off today’s podcast by digging into both of those situations. From there, they got into some of the big moves that we got over the weekend, which led them into some talk about the Utah Hockey Club and their blueline reconstruction. Could they keep making moves? Frank seems to think so and he threw in a couple of other teams that could surprise the hockey world on July 1st.They also talked about some intriguing value options including the recently bought-out Jeff Skinner and some non-qualified RFAs who could find ways to bounce back next season.Tyler then swung by for a new edition of Fill in the Blank where he asked the guys about a few teams that have big question marks heading into free agency. After that, they talked about Patrick Kane re-signing in Detroit. The news broke while we were recording, so they gave their thoughts on that and more from around the league to wrap up the podcast.1:05 - Lightning make moves7:55 - Utah’s future9:40 - Surprise teams for July 116:45 - The market for Jeff Skinner19:55 - Non-qualified RFAs23:10 - Fill in the Blank35:25 - Expectations in Nashville38:30 - What could the Oilers do?Want to hear more from Frank, Jason and the entire DFO team? Ep 316Going Full Speed Into Offseason Mode

The Florida Panthers are Stanley Cup Champions for the first time in franchise history after taking down the Oilers in Game 7 of the final. Frank and Jason started the show by congratulating the Panthers on the win and talking about what will go down as an all-time Stanley Cup Final. That of course led to some conversation about what the Panthers could get up to this summer and the biggest question that GM Bill Zito needs to find an answer to is whether or not they can find a way to keep Sam Reinhart in south Florida. The guys talked about what Reinhart’s next deal could look like and whether or not the Panthers will pay up following his 57-goal campaign. After that, Jason and Frank went around the league and discussed some of the big offseason storylines that are popping up around the league. They started with Steven Stamkos and his situation with the Tampa Bay Lightning. From there, they hit on the cap-clearing trade that the Canucks made yesterday and what they could do with their newfound flexibility and whether or not Jake Guentzel could be a hit. They also talked about some new trade targets on Frank’s board (Jacob Trouba) and updated a few situations that we’ve been keeping an eye on for a while (Mitch Marner).Tyler then popped in for a new edition of Fill in the Blank where he asked the guys about Jeff Skinner, Darnell Nurse, and Martin Necas.1:55 - Panthers win the Stanley Cup4:00 - Reinhart’s future6:35 - Stamkos & the Lightning9:40 - Canucks & Guentzel13:55 - Future of in-person drafts15:30 - Trade Targets: Jacob Trouba18:40 - Other Trade Targets (Marner, Islanders cap situation)27:25 - Utah’s plans31:00 - Fill in the BlankWant to hear more from Frank, Jason and the entire DFO team? Ep 315Seventh Heaven in Sunrise

It all comes down to this! Game 7 in Sunrise, Florida between the Oilers and Panthers for The Stanley Cup. For Edmonton, they’ll be looking to make history as just the second team in NHL history to complete a 3-0 series comeback in the final. For the Panthers, it’s a chance to lift up Lord Stanley on home ice.Gregor kicked things off with a quick vibe check from down in Florida, where he downloaded the Uber app for the first time and had quite the experience. He talked about how Oilers fans are feeling and how into The Cup Final Florida is. He then gave us some Game 7 numbers.Frank then looked back at what was a nightmare Game 6 for the Panthers. Rogers Place in Edmonton was rocking and the Oilers responded to their home crowd appropriately. It was all Oilers, all night. Will that momentum carry over for the road team tonight? Or will the Panthers finally find their game? They also talked about Sergei Bobrovsky not being at Panthers practice the other day. Is it a sign that Bobrovsky isn’t healthy? Or do the Panthers feel like he’s out of gas? The guys talked about that.Tyler checked in for Buy or Sell where he asked the guys about Matvei Michkov coming over from Russia earlier than anticipated, Patrick Kane’s plans, and the Leafs' goaltending situation. They wrapped up the pod with an update on the Rutger McGroarty situation in Winnipeg. Frank gave some insight into what is going on with one of the Jets top prospects.7:48 - Vibes in Florida9:40 - Game 6 thoughts14:50 - What’s up with Bob?24:00 - The legacies on the line32:00 - Buy or Sell (Michkov, Kane, Leafs’ goaltending)44:45 - Rutger McGroartyWant to hear more from Frank, Jason and the entire DFO team? Ep 314The Offseason Kicks Off With A Bang!

After a wild Wednesday full of activity around the NHL, it’s safe to say that the offseason is officially here. Jason and Frank kicked off the podcast by breaking down the biggest shocker of the day: the deal that sent Pierre-Luc Dubois to the Washington Capitals in exchange for Darcy Kuemper. For Dubois, it’s yet another change of scenery in his young career. Will this finally be the wake-up call that he needs to become a more consistent player? Jason talked about that. Is this a good move for the Los Angeles Kings? Frank explained why he likes the move for GM Rob Blake. From there, they dug into the Jacob Markstrom trade that went down earlier in the day. This is a deal that almost went down at the trade deadline, and Frank explained that, but now the trade is official and Markstrom is a member of the New Jersey Devils. Did the Flames get enough for a legit 1A starting goalie? The guys debated that.Frank wrapped up the trade talk with an update on how the rest of the goalie market could shake down. They then dug into the Barclay Goodrow situation that played out this week. The player is reportedly upset with how the New York Rangers handled things, considering he had a no-trade clause. The guys explained why he shouldn’t be and talked about the other trade that the Sharks made yesterday. To wrap up the show, Tyler hopped in for a Stanley Cup Final themed edition of Buy or Sell where he asked the guys about McDavid’s Conn Smythe case, Bobrovsky’s struggles, and whether or not this series is ending on Friday.1:50 - PLD for Kuemper14:20 - Markstrom to the Devils25:30 - Goalie market update32:40 - Buy or Sell on the Stanley Cup Final41:40 - Hronek stays in VancouverWant to hear more from Frank, Jason and the entire DFO team? Ep 313The Cup Final is Going Back to Florida

The Stanley Cup Final is still alive as the Oilers ran the Panthers out of the building in Game 4 on Saturday night. Frank and Jason kicked off the podcast by talking about the 8-1 beatdown in Edmonton and if the Oilers can roll any amount of this momentum into Game 5 back down in Florida. From an Oilers perspective, they may have started to figure out how to beat Sergei Bobrovsky and they scored eight goals with a few of their big guns, namely Leon Draisaitl and Zach Hyman, still staying quiet. They could have more to give but the same could be said for the Panthers, who can likely rely on a much better goaltending performance in Game 5 and have a few of their stars who will be looking to bounceback. The guys focused in on Matt Tkachuk, who has been very quiet all series. Has he been a disappointment or has he done enough away from the scoresheet to be a factor? The guys debated that and talked about which star players will come through in Game 5.From there, they got to Tyler and a new edition of Buy or Sell where he asked them about the future of Leon Draisaitl in Edmonton, this years free agent crop, and a handful of General Managers in the Eastern Conference who are facing some pressure this summer.0:45 - Oilers win Game 411:35 - Game 5 expectacions13:40 - Conn Smyth race28:20 - Fill in the Blank (Oilers extensions, Eastern GM’s, big free agents)Want to hear more from Frank, Jason and the entire DFO team? Ep 312Breaking Down The Trade Targets Board

Frank and Jason are back with a new episode of The DFO Rundown and to lead today’s show: the Edmonton Oilers are on their last leg. They started the podcast by breaking down what we saw in Game 3 last night as the Panthers jumped out to a big lead and then managed to just hang on for the victory.Frank said watching the Oilers this series has been like a plane crash with the number of things that have gone wrong. Jason thinks it’s been more on the fact that Sergei Bobrovsky has been on a whole different level so far in this series. Will the Oilers be able to push this series back to Florida? They wrapped up their Stanley Cup Final discussion with that question. They got to Tyler and a new edition of Buy or Sell where he asked the guys about some of the new names on Frank’s Trade Targets list and the number of buyouts we could see this summer. Patrik Laine is apparently looking for a fresh start, but how hard will it be for the Blue Jackets to move him? The Blues could be looking to really shake up their roster over the next month or so with players like Brandon Saad and Pavel Buchnevich on the board. Also, Frank gave us 9 potential buyout candidates, will a majority of them actually get to that point? After that, they dug a little bit more into the Pierre-Luc Dubois situation and if a buyout is actually a possibility. They also talked about Jakob Chychrun and his availability in Ottawa plus if they’d be willing to consider a buyout of Joonas Korpisalo. That led to some talk about the goalie market. They wrapped up with a conversation about the St. Louis Blues management plan with Alex Steen set to take over for Doug Armstrong in 2026, that was also coupled with an extension for Armstrong to remain as the President of Hockey Operations until 2029.0:30 - Stanley Cup Final talk8:34 - Will it be a sweep?11:05 - Buy or Sell (Laine, St. Louis, Buyouts)23:25 - Will Dubois get bought out?28:50 - Chychrun rumours & Korpisalo35:35 - The goalie market & Ullmark42:40 - Blues management planWant to hear more from Frank, Jason and the entire DFO team?
