Detroit Lions Strange Case of Jekyll and Hyde In this episode of the Detroit Lions Podcast, Chris and Jeff return to try to make sense of the Detroit Lions after an amazing week one victory over the Kansas City Chiefs and a devastating loss in week 2 of the 2023 NFL season against the Seattle Seahawks. I'm not sure anyone would have predicted this outcome for the Detroit Lions season so far, and fans are left concerned, confused, and unsure of what to expect as the Lions face an unexpectedly talented Atlanta Falcons roster this Sunday. Couple that confusion with the plethora of injuries that have plagued the Detroit Lions after their week two match-up and you have the recipe for what could be a throwaway season just two weeks into this series of contests. Detroit Lions Podcast Asks If It Was Over When The Germans Bombed Pearl Harbor There is no question that the Detroit Lions have a tough hill to climb already. Just two weeks into the season they are missing their star running back David Montgomery, vocal safety CJ Gardener-Johnson, inside lineman Josh Paschal, pass rush specialist James Houston, Offensive Guard Halapoulivaati Vaitai, and more. There's no question those injuries are going to make the Detroit Lions path to the playoffs much more difficult. The key questions remains, whether the Lions can weather the storm of these early injuries. Detroit Lions Preseason Wrap-up In this episode of the Detroit Lions Podcast, Chris and Jeff react to the Detroit Lions preseason game against the Carolina Panthers. Detroit Lions fans have been whipsawed a bit this preseason with a fun win against the New York Giants, a tougher week of practice and game against the Jacksonville Jaguars, and lastly the most recent win over the Carolina Panthers in Charlotte. With the Panthers starting their first team players against the Detroit Lions second team, we saw one of the best tests of the Detroit Lions depth of the preseason. The strength of the Detroit Lions depth showed itself by holding the Panthers to a field goal and a touchdown before they left the game. Detroit Lions Podcast Preseason Coverage Continues The Detroit Lions offense were able to play a strong game against like-level players from the Carolina Panthers and in the end were able to put the points on the board required to pull the win out in Carolina. With 16 players on the practice squad the Lions have a number of options for developmental players, but there is always the risk of a team picking up one of your prospects in the time between naming the 53 and landing your players on the practice squad. Detroit Lions Final Week Before Cutdown In this episode of the Detroit Lions Podcast, Chris and Jeff react to the Detroit Lions preseason game against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
