Vance is “young” and “ambitious,” Psaki said on the leftist political podcast “I've Had It,” adding that the vice president is “agile in the sense that he is a chameleon who makes himself into whatever he thinks the audience wants to hear from him.” Psaki also took a swipe at first lady Usha Vance, indicating she might not be happy in her marriage. “I always wonder what’s going on in the mind of his wife,” Psaki said. “Like, are you OK? Please blink four times. Come over here. We’ll save you.” While in Israel with the first lady, Vance was asked about the comments and called them “disgraceful,” adding, “but of course, the second lady can speak for herself. I am very lucky to have a wonderful wife.” Psaki’s comments on Vance are telling. The next presidential election is over three years away. It is no secret that Vance is thought to be a top contender for the Oval Office position, and so the talking heads on the left are already priming their base to despise him. While Democrats are clinging to their $1.5 trillion demands—and Republicans, for once, are refusing to capitulate—there has been a palpable shift in the government shutdown state of play. This week, Rep. Mike Haridopolos, R-Fla., joins “The Signal Sitdown” to discuss the evolving dynamics of shutdown politics. “Historically it should be a surprise,” that Democrats have opted to shut down the government, Haridopolos told The Daily Signal. “The Democrats historically have always got along with a clean [continuing resolution],” he added. That’s especially the case in recent history, as Democrats have voted upwards of a dozen times for a nearly identical continuing resolution that kept the government open and running on spending levels set during former President Joe Biden’s administration. To add insult to injury, the continuing resolution that would last through Nov. 21 was negotiated by Republican and Democrat appropriators. “We negotiated this ahead of time,” Haridopolos told The Daily Signal. “[House Appropriations Chairman] Tom Cole sat down, of course, with the House appropriators and Democrat appropriators, and said, ‘We're going to have a clean [continuing resolution], what else do you need? We want to do it till January.” Democrats, however, wanted the continuing resolution to expire in November. “We acquiesced and said, ‘Okay, fine, November 21,’” Haridopolos continued. “We negotiated. She may rue that decision because after a contetiuous first half of the debate in which the Lieutenant Governor would frequently interrupt filibuster-like answers asking if Spanberger was going to answer the actual question, the moderators began to pick up on that which led to what I think is the “McAuliffe Moment” of the debate You’ll hear it in the beginning of this podcast, and I think you will find it interesting that it was prompted by the same tactic Glenn Youngkin used to get Terry to admit what he really thought. After the debate a Poll was conducted by the Trafalgar Group that shows that incumbent Attorney General Jason Miyares is ahead of Jones 48.9%-43.1% and has the two top races ‘statistically tied’ (within the margin of error). Spanberger’s 12-point lead is now 2.6% with 5.6% still undecided and Delegate Ghazala Hashmi is only ahead of John Reid 46.8% to 45.9%. “For far too long, previous corrupt leadership and their enablers weaponized federal law enforcement, damaging once proud institutions and severely eroding public trust,” said FBI Director Kash Patel following the Justice Department’s charging of former FBI Director James Comey with perjury and obstruction of Congress. Comey’s right-hand man, former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe, was not charged by the Department of Justice in 2020 after the DOJ’s inspector general found that he had “authorized an aide to talk with The Wall Street Journal about the FBI's probe into the Clinton Foundation,” according to NPR. James Clapper lied to Congress about the nature and scope of the National Security Agency’s domestic surveillance operations. Former CIA Director John Brennan lied two times under oath to Congress. Virginia School Reverses Decision to Pull Plug on Part of Turning Point USA Event
bonusMany times over Charlie Kirk’s life those that opposed the idea of anyone hearing his message would threaten disruption on College Campuses where Turning Point USA was attempting to hold an event. This would give the administrators just enough cover to pull the plug under concerns for ‘disruption.’ As the movement grew that became less frequent and as the “Prove Me Wrong” events welcomed opposing viewpoints it had seemingly gone the way of the dodo. Well, it came back. This time it was the Turning Point USA chapter at Western Albemarle High School that became the focal point of the threat as they scheduled Victoria Cobb, President of the Family Foundation, to visit with them on October 1. At first, the school pulled the plug citing, that’s right, concerns over ‘disruption.’ Not that the TPUSA meeting was going to be disruptive, no. That the ‘counter protest’ would be. It’s a classic. Then, just a 30 hours before her talk was scheduled to have taken place, the school reversed it’s position saying in a statement, “Following discussions with the student leader, and with agreement on expectations to ensure the event is orderly, respectful, and concludes within the lunch period, the principal has determined that the Turning Point USA chapter at Western Albemarle High School may host its guest speaker during a regular lunchtime meeting,” Victoria Cobb visits with us to talk about the grander landscape of potential return of the ‘cancel culture’.
