“For far too long, previous corrupt leadership and their enablers weaponized federal law enforcement, damaging once proud institutions and severely eroding public trust,” said FBI Director Kash Patel following the Justice Department’s charging of former FBI Director James Comey with perjury and obstruction of Congress. Many times over Charlie Kirk’s life those that opposed the idea of anyone hearing his message would threaten disruption on College Campuses where Turning Point USA was attempting to hold an event. This would give the administrators just enough cover to pull the plug under concerns for ‘disruption.’ As the movement grew that became less frequent and as the “Prove Me Wrong” events welcomed opposing viewpoints it had seemingly gone the way of the dodo. Well, it came back. This time it was the Turning Point USA chapter at Western Albemarle High School that became the focal point of the threat as they scheduled Victoria Cobb, President of the Family Foundation, to visit with them on October 1. At first, the school pulled the plug citing, that’s right, concerns over ‘disruption.’ Not that the TPUSA meeting was going to be disruptive, no. That the ‘counter protest’ would be. It’s a classic. Then, just a 30 hours before her talk was scheduled to have taken place, the school reversed it’s position saying in a statement, “Following discussions with the student leader, and with agreement on expectations to ensure the event is orderly, respectful, and concludes within the lunch period, the principal has determined that the Turning Point USA chapter at Western Albemarle High School may host its guest speaker during a regular lunchtime meeting,” Victoria Cobb visits with us to talk about the grander landscape of potential return of the ‘cancel culture’. There are few, if any, more qualified to talk about America’s scourge of left-wing violence and the organizations that commit it than Assistant Attorney General ⁠Harmeet Dhillon⁠ who heads the Justice Department's Civil Rights Division. In the wake of the assassination of Charlie Kirk at Utah Valley University two weeks ago, President Donald Trump has activated his administration to confront these anarchists head on, going so far as to designate Antifa a “⁠domestic terrorist organization⁠.” For more than a decade prior to taking her post at the Department of Justice, Dhillon was suing Antifa members and institutions that suppressed free speech due to the threat of left-wing violence on behalf of clients across the country. There is no margin of error for the success of American society. On today’s episode of “Victor Davis Hanson: In His Own Words,” Hanson explains the phenomenon known as a “total systems collapse,” in which a society metaphorically implodes when it casts aside values like common sense and meritocracy and replaces them with diversity, equity, and inclusion as the base for society. “ We are a very sophisticated society. We require meritocracy, empiricism, credentials. And we have very sophisticated transportation, education, health care, etc., etc. And if we don't follow the norms that gave us that prosperity, security, and freedom, then the system starts to break down. And we've seen the indices of that. “ We saw that same systems collapse with the tragic killing of Iryna Zarutska. And everything went wrong. First of all, why would you enter a light-rail car without having to have a ticket? This was an honor system. It encouraged people to abuse the system—to think that you really don't have to pay anything for a free ride. It said you couldn't have a concealed weapon, but what does that mean when you don't even have security to check people? You can't stop and frisk people, apparently, anymore. She came in there and there were four people around her, including the assailant. He killed her. But what kind of society is it where the four people adjacent, behind her just walk by her—watch the killer commit this horrific act of cutting her throat. And then after he leaves and he mutters, “Got the white girl,” then they don't do anything. They didn't do anything to stop it. They didn't do anything, just to walk a few feet over, a foot over, and try to help her in her death throes. How does society reverse course on this dangerous rhetoric? “When Iryna [Zarutska] was killed on the light rail, there were three people right across the aisle. And when they saw her collapse and she was looking at—looking at the ceiling, thinking, ‘I’m dying because a man just killed me for no reason. No one is helping me,’ they each got up, solitarily walked right by her in her last gasp—did not offer a tourniquet, did not offer to help, did not call anybody. I don't know why they did that. “Maybe they thought if they did something like Daniel Penny and tried to intervene and save a life that they might be prosecuted or they might, who knows, or they were cowardly. Jimmy Kimmel’s commentary surrounding the assassination of Charlie Kirk was disturbing and inaccurate, but quite frankly not surprising. What was a surprise, however, was the outpouring of love and honor that many A list celebrities and social media influencers have shown in the days following Kirk’s death on Sept. 10. “I disagreed with him on almost every point I ever heard him say, but I believe he was a man of faith,” actress Jamie Lee Curtis said of Kirk on the “WTF” podcast while choking back tears. “And I hope in that moment when he died that he felt connected to his faith.” Actor Chris Pratt shared a video prayer and then encouraged his followers to stop scrolling and instead get outside or call a friend. Singer Justin Bieber wrote about a spiritual battle for the mind in a post on Instagram after Kirk passed. Jeffree Star, social media influencer and creator of Jeffree Star Cosmetics was streaming live on social media when he found out Kirk had been shot. Immediately he condemned the shooting and spoke out in support of free speech. When Star received criticism from some of his followers for condemning the assassination, he was quick to respond. “Because I’m standing up for someone that passed away, I’m now being called names in the chat. This is what’s wrong with a lot of you people. You will never get far in life. You are sick in the head,” Star shot back. Some who have spoken out in celebration of Kirk’s death, or made highly controversial comments over the tragedy, have lost their jobs as a result. Charlie Rock, Carolina Panthers NFL communications staffer, lost his job for a social media post he made after Kirk’s death. “Why are y'all sad? Your man said it was worth it,” Rock said. American Airlines fired a pilot who reportedly wrote on social media: “Well hey Charlie. Sorry you got shot in your fat f—— forehead. It was just the cost of our liberty. ‘Thoughts and prayers.'” And now, most notably, ABC suspended Kimmel’s late-night show after the comedian made light of Kirk’s assassination and inaccurately joked that the shooter was “MAGA.” “The MAGA gang (is) desperately trying to characterize this kid who murdered Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them and doing everything they can to score political points from it,” Kimmel said. Unlike Kimmel, the vast majority of Americans, including many celebrities, recognize that Kirk’s assassination was evil and a dark moment in American history. This Sunday, tens of thousands of Americans will gather at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Ariz., for Kirk’s memorial service and thousands more are expected to stream the ceremony live on Kirk’s Rumble. Speakers at the memorial include President Donald Trump, Vice President JD Vance, and Secretary of War Pete Hegseth. Kirk’s widow, Erika Kirk, will also speak and Christian worship artists Chris Tomlin, Brandon Lake, Phil Wickham, Kari Jobe Carnes, and Cody Carnes will perform. Enjoy the show! The conservative movement lost “the best of us" last week after Charlie Kirk was assassinated for his conservative values and martyred for his unyielding faith in Jesus Christ. Steve Deace, a BlazeTV host, joined “The Signal Sitdown” where he responded to the death of his personal friend and Turning Point USA founder. Because Charlie was such a bright light, “the enemy wanted to take him out,” Deace said. To honor Charlie’s memory, it’s time for conservatives to “get more aggressive,” Deace continued. “We need to mourn, and it's OK to mourn," he said. "Frankly, his legacy demands that we do. There seems to be an ironic discordance among folks that, let’s just say, didn’t share Charlie Kirk’s points of view. They claim that ‘it’s time to move on’ even when faced with a vigil being held by co-workers. Such was the case of the US House of Representatives minority party leader Hakeem Jeffries who, when asked why he didn’t attend a Congressional vigil quipped; “I had a meeting.” Or take combative positions like Virginia Speaker Don Scott who responded to Governor Youngkin who echoed a question we asked on these pages. “Is Abigail Spanberger going to denounce the ‘Nazi’ comment made by one of her supports, Chesterfield School Board Member ‘Dot’ Heffron. Scott’s social media response has since been edited but the original still exists and reads: “Spare us the sanctimonious selective outrage — you should be ashamed of yourself. You said nothing when a sitting GOP member of the Va House of Delegates said ‘Democrats killed [Charlie] Kirk’ — a blatant lie that was never corrected even after learning a Trump supporter actually killed him. Thank God, this Governor and his hateful politics will be gone in 120 days.” The edited version now reads; “…. a blatant lie that was never corrected even after learning he was shot by a man from a family of Trump supporters.” Certainly much better. Last week Carrie Edwards of Midlothian won $150,000 from the Virginia lottery because she matched four of the first five numbers plus the Powerball number on her lottery ticket on the Sept. 8 drawing. Less than a week after Charlie Kirk’s assassination, the Left has incessantly pushed several falsehoods about the horrific death of this young conservative leader and Turning Point USA co-founder. Charlie Kirk’s assassination is NOT conservatives’ "George Floyd moment." Not only does Kirk himself, a devout Christian, husband, and father of two, have nothing in common with Floyd but after his death, his followers channeled their anger toward fostering greater community and spirituality, not burning down historic churches, police precincts, and federal courthouses. Kirk’s death is not the result of “Right on Right” violence. Bullet casings from the scene of the crime had anti-fascist phrases like “Hey fascist! CATCH!” and “Bella Ciao” written on them. The suspect in Kirk’s assassination, Tyler Robinson, was in a romantic relationship with his roommate, a biological male who identifies as a girl, according to Utah Gov. Spencer Cox. “So, the Left seized that moment and tried to push through agendas—and were successful—that otherwise would not have happened. Nobody's trying to do that now. "They're trying to commemorate Charlie Kirk by one positive way, and that is everybody go out and register to vote. Register as many people as you have. Register more people that are young and conservative than has ever been registered before. And then turn out in the November midterms in one year. And then do the impossible. Great minds have spent generations debating over the most effective ways to win hearts and minds to a cause, but all agree on one thing – if you reach the young, you will determine the course of a nation's future. Charlie Kirk knew this, and lived it. Kirk’s mission to reach young people may have stemmed from the fact that his own very public political activism began when he was only a teenager. But at a time when many conservatives wrote college campuses off as bastions of leftist ideology that were too far gone, Kirk made universities his mission field, and emboldened hundreds more young people to do the same. Through Turning Point USA, Kirk reached millions of young people with a political, and faith filled message. What made Kirk even more unique is that he did not go to college campuses to lecture students, but instead to have conversations - allowing students to ask him questions on politics and faith. It was at one of these very events at Utah Valley University where Kirk was assassinated Wednesday. Articulate, charismatic, and inteligent, Kirk spent more than a decade empowering young people to think critically, embrace the values of conservatism, and find hope and joy in a deep faith in Jesus Christ. Kirk spoke truth in boldness, and it cost him his life. It is challenging not to feel that a line has been drawn in the sand. A good man, a father, a husband, a leader has died. Is this the cost of truth? For the majority of us, Lord willing, it won’t be, but it does serve as a time for choosing. “Personnel is policy” is an old truism in the conservative movement. After President Donald Trump won the 2024 election, one of the big question marks as he headed into his second term was whether or not those tasked with setting up his administration had fully appreciated that time-tested wisdom. In his first term, Trump saw his agenda undermined by deep state and Republican Party apparatchiks alike. That problem most clearly manifested at the top of the administration, with figures such as former National Security Advisor John Bolton, former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, and former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley playing outsized roles. But the American Right’s personnel problem runs far deeper than the Cabinet. At every level, Trump was facing a shortage of staffers who believed in the president’s vision and were willing to enact it. Charlie Kirk shaped modern conservatism and reached youth in ways no one else could—and that’s precisely what made him so dangerous to the Left. When Pamela Garfield-Jaeger learned a therapist was offering a class characterizing supporters of President Donald Trump as members of a cult, she was compelled to learn more. Using a fake name, Garfield-Jaeger register for the online course and in August, she spent three hours “learning” how a therapists can deal with their Trump supporting clients. The course, titled “The Impact of Donald Trump on America- A Cultic Studies Perspective,” was led by clinical trauma specialist Jamie Marich, Ph.D. Additionally, Dr. Janja Lalich, a sociologist and cult expert, participated in the instruction. The instructors painted Trump as a cult leader. The course “instructed therapists to hate their Trump supporting patients,” Garfield-Jaeger wrote in a post on social media after attending the class. “I was ‘taught’ that if you voted for Trump, you are a part of a ‘cult on a national scale’ that ‘presents an image of bringing the country back to a white majority and white power,’” Garfield-Jaeger added. Garfield-Jaeger, a social worker and author of multiple books, including “⁠A Practical Response to Gender Distress: Tips and Tools for Families⁠,” joins “Problematic Women” to discuss the ways the field of physiology has been influenced by a political agenda in recent years.
