RAHAB's REALITY 1. She knew that she was in trouble; judgment was coming. 2. She knew that she could not save herself. 3. She knew that her only hope was the grace and mercy of God.

Strength and Courage are not found within YOU but in knowing that God is With You. Now What? – 1. What step of faith is God calling you to take? 2. Why aren’t you taking it? What are you afraid of? 3. How will you lean into Jesus? 4 Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in me. 5 I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing. 6 If anyone does not abide in me he is thrown away like a branch and withers; and the branches are gathered, thrown into the fire, and burned. 7 If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. 8 By this my Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit and so prove to be my disciples. 9 As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Abide in my love. 10 If you keep my commandments, you will abide in my love, just as I have kept my Father's commandments and abide in his love. 11 These things I have spoken to you, that my joy may be in you, and that your joy may be full. John 15:4-10

The ordinance of communion is a gift from God for his children by which they can begin to understand and experience the reality that they are: 1. Under a new covenant. 2. Part of a new community. 3. Purposed as a new creation.

Jesus came to knock down all of the roadblocks for us to come to know God. The Church’s job is to knock down all the roadblocks for others to meet Jesus. Final Thought: “It is my judgment, therefore, that we should not make it difficult for the Gentiles who are turning to God.” Acts 15:19 (NIV)

The Good News of Christmas is that Jesus came on a rescue mission for ALL people. THAT INCLUDES YOU. “Once in our world,a Stable had something in it that was bigger than our whole world.”– C.S. Lewis

Jesus came to seek and save the lost. We will find ourselves in line with this mission or in the way of this mission.

The reason to put your HOPE in Jesus is because HE is full of GRACE and TRUTH: The TRUTH to change your life and the GRACE to sustain your life. “Everyone then who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock. And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house, but it did not fall, because it had been founded on the rock. And everyone who hears these words of mine and does not do them will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand. And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell, and great was the fall of it.”- Jesus (Matthew 7:24-27)

Christmas is not about a helpless baby accidentally born in a stable. Christmas is about the majesty of the fully divine humbling Himself to come and rescue that which is His!

Jesus says that we will continue the work that He started and even do greater things. What has He called YOU to do? Have no fear, but step out in faith. “What in the world could we do that would be better than building a church.” - Rodney McLauchlan

We BRING to God our FIRST and BEST because God FIRST loved us by giving HIS BEST. "And you, who once were alienated and hostile in mind, doing evil deeds, he has now reconciled in his body of flesh by his death, in order to present you holy and blameless and above reproach before him, if indeed you continue in the faith, stable and steadfast, not shifting from the hope of the gospel that you heard, which has been proclaimed in all creation under heaven, and of which I, Paul, became a minister." Colossians 1: 21-23

May God's blessings in our lives be vehicles for Praising God not obstacles to it. Action Steps: How do I cultivate an attitude of Gratitude? 1. Count your blessings: literally. As we understand the depths of our own depravity in light of the height of God’s love and mercy toward us it SHOULD stir a deep sense of worship. “And because you are sons, God has sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, crying, “Abba! Father!” So you are no longer a slave, but a son, and if a son, then an heir through God.” Galatians 4:6-7

The Almighty, Ever-Present, All-Knowing, Never-Changing God of the Universe wants YOU to Discover and Deepen a Relationship with Him through Jesus. 20 Behold, I stand at the door and knock. PRAY, PRAY, PRAY!!! Prayer is not about information. It is about intimacy with the Father. Prayer is the means by which our Sovereign God accomplishes “on Earth as it is in Heaven”.

We are all snake bitten. You can either continue to DENY it and cover it, or DIAGNOSE it and be Cured. The opposite of Faith is FEAR (not doubt). Fear paralyzes. Faith produces. Without Faith it is impossible to please God. 17 And when they saw him they worshiped him, but some doubted. 18 And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in[b] the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” Matthew 28:17-20

Complaining is rooted in putting our hope in ever changing circumstances. Contentment is found in putting our hope in the never changing Christ.

There is one certainty for all humanity. We each will have to atone for the guilt of our sins. Each of us has two options; either we self-atone or we surrender to Christ’s atoning work on the cross.

The Point: Where sin runs deep, grace runs deeper.

The Point: Get off of the merry go round of normality and LIVE the Life that Jesus has for you. Big Idea: Victory does not start with bold actions or rigorous obedience but with intimate faith in Jesus Christ. We overcome the world because He overcame the world!

Love is revealed in Freedom and Forgiveness while FEAR is rooted in control and condemnation. Perfect Love (Jesus) casts out fear. Final Thought: And when he got into the boat, his disciples followed him. 24 And behold, there arose a great storm on the sea, so that the boat was being swamped by the waves; but he was asleep. 25 And they went and woke him, saying, “Save us, Lord; we are perishing.” 26 And he said to them, “Why are you afraid, O you of little faith?” Then he rose and rebuked the winds and the sea, and there was a great calm. You and I don’t need a better heart. We need a NEW HEART, His HEART. A Heart that loves God and Loves one another.

The Love of Jesus IN you changes the way you Love the ones Beside you. -The only thing that counts is faith expressing itself through love. How do I surrender my life to the Lordship of Jesus Christ? Admit that you are a sinner. The Almighty King of the universe came to Earth on a search and rescue mission. The moment you are rescued, you become part of the rescue team. For the Son of Man came to seek and save the lost. - Luke 19:10

The Tomb is Empty. Jesus is Alive. Your sins can be Forgiven and His Righteousness given to you. Have your eyes and mind been opened to that truth? The Good News is not the we go up on the mountain top to seek the “glory” of God, but that His Glory came down in search of us. “A man can no more diminish God's glory by refusing to worship Him than a lunatic can put out the sun by scribbling the word 'darkness' on the walls of his cell.” - CS Lewis

The Point: The tabernacle reveals to us God’s Desire to dwell with His People. Jesus is the sum total fulfillment of that Tabernacle Desire of God for His people. Luke 9:30-31 30 And behold, two men were talking with him(Jesus), Moses and Elijah, 31 who appeared in glory and spoke of his departure (exodus), which he was about to accomplish at Jerusalem. John 1:14 14 And the Word became flesh and dwelt (“tabernacled) among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.
