Ep 759759: Green Funerals, Free Will, & the Power of Lipstick
It's almost Sarah's favorite day of the year, and this episode will fit into the spooky theme. We learn about a funeral home that was really phoning it in with regards to disposal of the bodies, and despite their environmentally friendly mission, they ended up causing more mess. We learn about the inventor of the modern day bulletproof vest, who shot himself hundreds of times to test his own product. We hear about the burglary that inspired his invention and we discuss how inventors often are a little too invested (no pun intended) with their products, and how his passion probably backfired (pun intended), and possibly caused people to die. We hear the most shocking part of the Britney documentary that caused her world to "shatter," and it's kind of amazing. Susie shares why one esteemed scholar believes human beings have NO free will and everything is predetermined, and why other scholars are disturbed by his claims. We discuss the idea of "olfactory illusions," and learn why one researcher says they are not possible. Plus, we hear the history of lipstick, why it's the most "deadly" cosmetic, and how men are scared of its powers.Listen to more podcasts like this: https://wavepodcastnetwork.comRead this week's Newsletter: https://mailchi.mp/thebraincandypodcast/lazy-birds-vomit-fees-is-britney-really-freeJoin our Candy Club, shop our merch, sign-up for our free newsletter, & more by visiting The Brain Candy Podcast website: https://www.thebraincandypodcast.comConnect with us on social media:BCP Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/braincandypodcastSusie's Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/susiemeisterSarah's Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/imsarahriceBCP Twitter: https://www.twitter.com/braincandypodSusie's Twitter: https://www.twitter.com/susie_meisterSarah's Twitter: https://www.twitter.com/ImSarahRiceSponsors:Go to https://www.reliefband.com and use promo code CANDY for 20% off plus free shipping!Head to https://www.smalls.com/braincandy and use promo code BRAINCANDY at checkout for 50% off your first order PLUS free shipping!Get $20 off the test when you go to https://modernfertility.com/braincandyGet an extended 30 day free trial when you go to https://www.dipseastories.com/braincandySee Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

Ep 758758: Up For Anything, Lion's Mullet, & Hot People
Susie is accidentally tracking an airplane from Pittsburgh, and we're starting to wonder if this is a security risk. Sarah would like to put out a public service announcement that disinfected and clean are two different things, and you can shove your hand sanitizer up your you-know-what. She went to Urban Outfitters recently, and found out she is old, can't wear mini-skirts, and Fiona Apple makes her cry. We hear why she claims she's only hot one week/month and she has a theory about why hot people end up with hot people. We debate the difference between being up for anything and down for anything, and we're both, that's all we know. The zoo in China is up to no good again and it's HILARIOUS. Let's just say they want to assure you they did NOT give a lion's mane a haircut why would you even think that??? Susie confesses to having a gross habit in high school, but we agreed to just think of it as a nerdy hobby instead of the nastiness it actually is. There's a new version of We Didn't Start the Fire out and Susie is sharing what should've been included, but in a strange turn of events, Sarah found out for the first time that that song is about actual historical events...Listen to more podcasts like this: https://wavepodcastnetwork.comRead this week's Newsletter: https://mailchi.mp/thebraincandypodcast/romance-novel-history-microscopic-photography-sounds-animals-hateJoin our Candy Club, shop our merch, sign-up for our free newsletter, & more by visiting The Brain Candy Podcast website: https://www.thebraincandypodcast.comConnect with us on social media:BCP Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/braincandypodcastSusie's Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/susiemeisterSarah's Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/imsarahriceBCP Twitter: https://www.twitter.com/braincandypodSusie's Twitter: https://www.twitter.com/susie_meisterSarah's Twitter: https://www.twitter.com/ImSarahRiceSponsors:Head to https://moshlife.com/braincandy to save 20% off plus FREE shipping on your first 6-count Trial Pack!Head to https://embracepetinsurance.com/braincandy and sign up for pet insurance today!Get 15% off your first order when you use promo code CANDY at https://www.bollandbranch.comSo head to https://nakedwines.com/braincandy and click ‘Enter Voucher’ in the top right when you get to the website, and enter BRAINCANDY for both the code AND password to get 6 bottles of wine for JUST $39.99 with shipping included!See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

Ep 757757: Cupid Shuffle, Thighmaster, & Twin Flames
Susie went out on the town and now you're going to hear about it. A run-in with the police and war of words with an old lady at the Eagles concert? It's been a week! Sarah thinks the cure for this crazy behavior is a sound bath, so the gals planned a Colorado retreat to ease their minds. Hear their thoughts on Suzanne Somers's recent death, the reason Susie can't quit thinking about a small town in the Australian outback, and a complicated supermodel who isn't here to be your hero. We discuss the crazy Twin Flames cult that pressured people to change their genders and we learn the fascinating history of romance novels including the reason the covers are now mostly illustrated, why they've toned down the spicy stuff, and whether they're still just for white housewives. Plus, we hear why animals hate human voices and we realize we're the seagulls of the land mammal community.Listen to more podcasts like this: https://wavepodcastnetwork.comRead this week's Newsletter: https://mailchi.mp/thebraincandypodcast/romance-novel-history-microscopic-photography-sounds-animals-hateJoin our Candy Club, shop our merch, sign-up for our free newsletter, & more by visiting The Brain Candy Podcast website: https://www.thebraincandypodcast.comConnect with us on social media:BCP Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/braincandypodcastSusie's Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/susiemeisterSarah's Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/imsarahriceBCP Twitter: https://www.twitter.com/braincandypodSusie's Twitter: https://www.twitter.com/susie_meisterSarah's Twitter: https://www.twitter.com/ImSarahRiceSponsors:Get $30 off the first box - PLUS free Croissants in every box - when you go to https://wildgrain.com/braincandy to start your subscription!Get 20% off when you go to https://www.liquid-iv.com and use code CANDY at checkout!Get 20% OFF @honeylove by going to https://www.honeylove.com/braincandy! #honeylovepodGet 15% off your first pair when you go to https://paireyewear.com/braincandySee Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

Ep 756756: Powerball, Yummy Mummies, & Golden Bachelor
After encouraging Sarah to avoid playing the lottery, Susie became a hypocrite by going all in on the Powerball frenzy sweeping the nation. But instead of admitting her lack of morality, Susie persuades Sarah to join the fun. And we make big plans for our winnings. Sarah reveals why until fairly recently, people were grinding up mummies and using them to make artwork and some people even ate them because of a misinterpretation of an ancient text. Oops! We discuss why TikTok trends are often based on faulty science, misrepresentations of studies, and plain old lies. We hear the origins of Rock, Paper, Scissors, and it was surprisingly not born out of boredom. Sarah watched the Golden Bachelor, and despite her ten seasons of reality tv experience, she is outraged that the show is somewhat staged and highly produced. Will her new favorite widower find love? Not if producers keep setting unreachable romantic standards, she says! We discuss the bedbugs in Paris and why it's not helping their hygiene reputation. Plus, Susie is mad that Sarah keeps secrets from her about her social life.Listen to more podcasts like this: https://wavepodcastnetwork.comRead this week's Newsletter: https://mailchi.mp/thebraincandypodcast/tiktok-lies-bedbugs-in-paris-preserving-historyJoin our Candy Club, shop our merch, sign-up for our free newsletter, & more by visiting The Brain Candy Podcast website: https://www.thebraincandypodcast.comConnect with us on social media:BCP Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/braincandypodcastSusie's Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/susiemeisterSarah's Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/imsarahriceBCP Twitter: https://www.twitter.com/braincandypodSusie's Twitter: https://www.twitter.com/susie_meisterSarah's Twitter: https://www.twitter.com/ImSarahRiceSponsors:Get 5 free AG1 Travel Packs and a FREE 1 year supply of Vitamin D with your first purchase at https://drinkag1.com/braincandyGet 20% OFF @honeylove by going to https://www.honeylove.com/braincandy! #honeylovepodFind your forever pieces @jennikayne and get 15% off with promo code BRAINCANDY at https://www.jennikayne.com/braincandy! #jennikaynepartnerGet $20 off your purchase of a Hatch Restore 2 and free shipping at https://www.hatch.co/braincandySee Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

Ep 755755: Sensitive People, Crime Con, & Australian Hillbillies
Susie got to visit her favorite tourist trap in Boston (where everyone knows her name!), but had to do so the old-fashioned way since her family's phones malfunctioned. Let's just say, if the bad guys ever take down our country's phone service we're all screwed. We learn why some people are wearing noise-cancelling headphones for a majority of their day, and why it might be bad for their mental health. And Susie preaches to Gen Z again about why they need to toughen up, but it turns out Sarah might be on their side since she wraps herself in a sleep cocoon because it's soothing. We learn the history of Dr. Brommer, the quirky castile soap creator, and why he succeeded in business, but not in life. We debate whether Crime Con is a harmless community of true crime enthusiasts or a re-victimizing event that profits off of pain. Susie watched a wild documentary about a small town in the Australian outback that is the center of a murder mystery. Plus, we hear the amazing efforts the National Archives takes to preserve documents and our history.Listen to more podcasts like this: https://wavepodcastnetwork.comRead this week's Newsletter: https://mailchi.mp/thebraincandypodcast/tiktok-lies-bedbugs-in-paris-preserving-historyJoin our Candy Club, shop our merch, sign-up for our free newsletter, & more by visiting The Brain Candy Podcast website: https://www.thebraincandypodcast.comConnect with us on social media:BCP Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/braincandypodcastSusie's Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/susiemeisterSarah's Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/imsarahriceBCP Twitter: https://www.twitter.com/braincandypodSusie's Twitter: https://www.twitter.com/susie_meisterSarah's Twitter: https://www.twitter.com/ImSarahRiceSponsors:Cancel your unwanted subscriptions – and manage your money the easy way – by going to https://rocketmoney.com/braincandyVisit https://www.carawayhome.com/braincandy to take advantage of this limited-time offer for 10% off your next purchase! This episode is sponsored by BetterHelp. Ep 754754: Misphonia, Taylor Swift's NFL, & Platonic Proposals
Sarah thinks something fishy is happening with British Bakeoff, and she needs answers. Sarah is so enamored with Taylor Swift's ability to rile up the football boys that she is considering becoming a Swiftie or AT LEAST unmuting her on spotify. This is big news. We were happy for the seal who escaped from his enclosure at a New York zoo. Or was it a sea lion? And we found out the difference between a seal and a sea lion (and what the heck is the deal with walruses?) while we were at it. We discuss the inmate who recently escaped from a Pennsylvania prison, and Susie seriously freaks Sarah out when she finds out what he did when he broke into someone's house. It's some horror movie sh*t. Susie also explains why the police and SWAT team members who caught him were a little too proud of themselves and really the credit should go to someone else altogether. We hear what the diamond industry is cooking up to try to sell more diamonds now that fewer people are getting married, but we think their idea is a dud. Susie thinks Gen Z might go for it and gets all judge-y about it, but Sarah reminds her of all the dumb things our generations have done. We debate an article by David Brooks which encouraged people to focus on marriage rather than their careers, and Susie explains why he's seen as a conservative in sheep's clothing. Susie shares a story about a recent night out that almost turned into another addition to her year of bad luck, but this story is a real BCP emotional roller coaster.Listen to more podcasts like this: https://wavepodcastnetwork.comRead this week's Newsletter: https://mailchi.mp/thebraincandypodcast/friendship-diamonds-lifesavers-zoo-escapeeJoin our Candy Club, shop our merch, sign-up for our free newsletter, & more by visiting The Brain Candy Podcast website: https://www.thebraincandypodcast.comConnect with us on social media:BCP Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/braincandypodcastSusie's Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/susiemeisterSarah's Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/imsarahriceBCP Twitter: https://www.twitter.com/braincandypodSusie's Twitter: https://www.twitter.com/susie_meisterSarah's Twitter: https://www.twitter.com/ImSarahRiceSponsors:Get an extended 30 day free trial when you go to https://www.dipseastories.com/braincandyVisit https://ritual.com/braincandy to start Ritual or add HyaCera to your line up today!Get started at https://www.chime.com/braincandyHead to https://www.smalls.com/braincandy and use promo code BRAINCANDY at checkout for 50% off your first order PLUS free shipping! Ep 753753: Hotline Heroes, Skating Scandal, & Disco Sucks
Today we reminisce about the Challengemania Hall of Fame and Sarah's induction speech. We hear about the Harley & Katya documentary which chronicled a competitive figure skating duo and the untimely demise of the female skater. We discuss how concussions and injuries from the ice, the difficulties of competing, and the pressure on young athletes contribute to mental health concerns for the skaters. Susie thinks there's still time for Sarah to become a competitive bobsledder, but Sarah isn't so sure. We hear about the man who created the famous and calamitous "disco sucks" event at the professional baseball game in 1979, why the organizer regrets it, and how the people who stormed the field might have something in common with the January 6 insurrectionists. We discuss a study that shows why sleeping with your partner's clothing could help you sleep better even if you're not aware it's theirs. Susie describes what it's like to work a suicide hotline, why a lot of people call who are looking for love, friendship, or romance, how the operators assess risk, and why it's a thankless job. We laugh about Sarah's inability to "wind down" on a phone call and how she realized she has a very annoying habit in social settings. And our minds are blown when we learn the difference between chicken strips and chicken tenders. Who knew? This is the BCP content we all need.Listen to more podcasts like this: https://wavepodcastnetwork.comRead this week's Newsletter: https://mailchi.mp/thebraincandypodcast/friendship-diamonds-lifesavers-zoo-escapeeJoin our Candy Club, shop our merch, sign-up for our free newsletter, & more by visiting The Brain Candy Podcast website: https://www.thebraincandypodcast.comConnect with us on social media:BCP Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/braincandypodcastSusie's Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/susiemeisterSarah's Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/imsarahriceBCP Twitter: https://www.twitter.com/braincandypodSusie's Twitter: https://www.twitter.com/susie_meisterSarah's Twitter: https://www.twitter.com/ImSarahRiceSponsors:Get an extended 30 day free trial at https://www.dipseastories.com/braincandyGet 30% off during your first month at https://ritual.com/braincandyGet started at https://www.chime.com/braincandyHead to https://www.smalls.com/braincandy and use promo code BRAINCANDY at checkout for 50% off your first order PLUS free shipping!See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

Ep 752752: Lion Dads, Missing Jet, & Mexican Alien
Sarah is still obsessing about predator animals. She has developed a real affinity for polar bears and thinks lion dads are really not pulling their weight. They have manes and a roar, and that's about it. They're all hype! But it was great to hear that according to her, cats are great and dogs are "nasty." We discuss whether learning more about animals makes us more or less likely to be vegetarians. Elephants are smarty pants and walruses are, and I quote, "f*cking idiots." Sarah talks about the military jet that went missing and her theory about what really happened. But she was shocked to hear that the pilot made a 911 call and he didn't sound upset that he was EJECTED from the jet. We laugh about the "alien" they discovered in Mexico and then we get worried that we're going to look like real a-holes if they find out this thing actually is an alien or as Sarah thinks "is from another dimension." We learn why Gen Z does not want to be criticized at work and they don't even want "feedback," so now managers are reframing the messages by calling it "feedfoward." After we lost our minds about how stupid this is, we discuss how they say it's because they don't want to live in the past, but Susie points out that this is hypocritical since all they ever want to talk about is their past "trauma." Susie is full of BCP hot takes today. Ep 751751: Super Models, Surfer Culture, & Stinky French
Susie gives a report on the Super Models documentary and the cultural moment that supermodels represented in the 80s and 90s, how they discuss aging, and why Susie is critical of younger models. It even inspired one of Susie's famous hot takes where she criticizes a nepo baby who "can't walk." We learn about the woman who was hired to fix Airbnb's party problem and programmed an algorithm to sniff out whether people are going to throw a party at the house. We discuss the recent study that found that patients of female surgeons have more favorable outcomes and we theorize why that might be. We debate why anyone would want a male OB-GYN, and how even TSA agents take liberties with their "authority." Susie discusses a scholarly article on why French people were not into personal hygiene and how the stereotype about them is apparently true or at least was far into the 1900s. Sarah, however, is very defensive because she is a stinky woman and thinks Susie should give the French a break. We learn how men muscled women out of surfing, why the sport is changing slowly, and how Sarah had a secret surfing career.Listen to more podcasts like this: https://wavepodcastnetwork.comRead this week's Newsletter: https://mailchi.mp/thebraincandypodcast/scary-feedback-elephant-names-female-surgeonsJoin our Candy Club, shop our merch, sign-up for our free newsletter, & more by visiting The Brain Candy Podcast website: https://www.thebraincandypodcast.comConnect with us on social media:BCP Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/braincandypodcastSusie's Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/susiemeisterSarah's Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/imsarahriceBCP Twitter: https://www.twitter.com/braincandypodSusie's Twitter: https://www.twitter.com/susie_meisterSarah's Twitter: https://www.twitter.com/ImSarahRiceSponsors:Go to https://www.greenchef.com/60braincandy and use code 60braincandy to get 60% off plus free shipping!Get $30 off the first box - PLUS free Croissants in every box - when you go to https://wildgrain.com/braincandy to start your subscription!Control Body Odor ANYWHERE with @lumedeodorant and get $5 off off your Starter Pack (that’s over 40% off) with promo code BRAINCANDY5 at https://lumepodcast.com! #lumepodSee Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

Ep 750750: Snakes with Legs, Cheetah Paternity, & Helmets for Dummies
This episode is wild. First we're celebrating our 750th episode w/ a delicious cake from Kara McSweeney and Evanly Bakes. Mostly we realize how even after all these episodes of laughing and learning we still don't know anything. We hear all the fun facts Sarah picked up from one of her wild nature documentaries (we are pretty sure she was high when she watched it though). She claims hares are faster than cheetahs, and we have questions about the legitimacy of this race. We realize we know nothing about how twins are made and whether humans can have twins with two separate fathers naturally or whether it can only happen through in vitro fertilization. Sarah talks about a cannibal family that apparently is one the most important history lessons (only to her and some other people in California, but don't tell her that). She is warning people not to rely on AI to decide what to forage, and luckily Susie wouldn't forage if her life depended on it, so she's safe. We rage about the man who climbed a statue and broke its arm off and laugh about how we all would react if we were him. Humans are so dumb. Sarah gets mad about people who don't wear helmets and wonders what in the world they're thinking. People in the Philippines think they discovered a snake with legs (aka a lizard), but even though we're no David Attenborough, we cracked the case on what's really going on. Plus, Susie interviews J. Reuben Appelman about his new book While Idaho Slept about the murder of four young college students and the suspect who is going to trial. It's a fascinating and nuanced look at the crime and the alleged killer.Listen to more podcasts like this: https://wavepodcastnetwork.comRead this week's Newsletter: https://mailchi.mp/thebraincandypodcast/yarn-facts-dont-trust-ai-feline-infidelityJoin our Candy Club, shop our merch, sign-up for our free newsletter, & more by visiting The Brain Candy Podcast website: https://www.thebraincandypodcast.comConnect with us on social media:BCP Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/braincandypodcastSusie's Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/susiemeisterSarah's Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/imsarahriceBCP Twitter: https://www.twitter.com/braincandypodSusie's Twitter: https://www.twitter.com/susie_meisterSarah's Twitter: https://www.twitter.com/ImSarahRiceSponsors:Get 20% OFF @honeylove by going to https://www.honeylove.com/braincandy! #honeylovepodFind your forever pieces @jennikayne and get 15% off with promo code BRAINCANDY at https://www.jennikayne.com/braincandy! #jennikaynepartnerHead to https://moshlife.com/braincandy to save 20% off plus FREE shipping on your first 6-count Trial Pack!Get $20 off your purchase of a Hatch Restore 2 and free shipping at https://www.hatch.co/braincandySee Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

Ep 749749: Roman Empire, Therapist Sighting, & Breakup BTS
Sarah is getting into Tuesday's Sacrifice mode as the weather turns cool and the witchy vibes come alive. Susie has a sound board and uses it with abandon on this episode. We hear about the Team Foxcatcher documentary, and how it is the perfect combination of murder, sports, and an eccentric millionaire. We hear facts about crocheting that are surprisingly interesting and make Sarah want to bust out her knitting equipment and get to work on a scarf that looks like a snake ate a tennis ball. How often do you think about the Roman Empire? Well, evidently men think about it a lot and Susie has a theory about why and what the female equivalent is. And our minds are blown. Susie saw Adam's therapist out in the wild, so she has some questions for Sarah about why it is a big performance of silence and awkwardness when that happens, what therapists think when they see their clients, and why Susie is hoping she made a good impression. We discuss why men are getting weaker and now have the same grip strength as women their age. We explain why moving companies have insight into your relationships. Plus, Susie reveals why you should worry about sharing your data even if you "have nothing to hide."Listen to more podcasts like this: https://wavepodcastnetwork.comRead this week's Newsletter: https://mailchi.mp/thebraincandypodcast/yarn-facts-dont-trust-ai-feline-infidelityJoin our Candy Club, shop our merch, sign-up for our free newsletter, & more by visiting The Brain Candy Podcast website: https://www.thebraincandypodcast.comConnect with us on social media:BCP Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/braincandypodcastSusie's Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/susiemeisterSarah's Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/imsarahriceBCP Twitter: https://www.twitter.com/braincandypodSusie's Twitter: https://www.twitter.com/susie_meisterSarah's Twitter: https://www.twitter.com/ImSarahRiceSponsors:You can grow thicker, healthier hair AND support our show by going to https://nutrafol.com and enter the promo code: BRAINCANDY to save $15 off your first month’s subscription!Control Body Odor ANYWHERE with @lumedeodorant and get $5 off off your Starter Pack (that’s over 40% off) with promo code: BRAINCANDY5 at https://lumepodcast.com! #lumepodCancel your unwanted subscriptions – and manage your money the easy way – by going to https://rocketmoney.com/braincandyGo to https://www.reliefband.com and use promo code: CANDY to receive 20% off plus free shipping!See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

Ep 748748: Brain Candy: The Musical, Ornamental Hermits, & the Good Wall
We didn't intend on this episode becoming a musical version of Brain Candy, but, boy oh boy, did we have a song in our hearts today. We apologize in advance. We learn what "ornamental hermits" are and find out why people were using them to gain social status centuries ago. Susie explains why Paris Hilton would've loved an ornamental hermit. We hear why Sarah started loving Veggie Tales as an adult and Susie is singing about an astronomer/physicist. We laugh about the couple who bulldozed through the Great Wall of China, and wonder what exactly it is that they were trying to accomplish. We love a good shortcut, but this sounds ridiculous. Susie gets real confused about the 7 Wonders of the World because it turns out there are more than seven and some of them are natural, some of them are manmade, and some of them aren't really that wondrous. Sarah explains why the rules have changed in New York and now there will be a lot of people who will be sharing AirBnBs with an extra roommate. Finally, we learn what "hot bedding" is, and it turns out it's not as sexy as it sounds.Listen to more podcasts like this: https://wavepodcastnetwork.comRead this week's Newsletter: https://mailchi.mp/thebraincandypodcast/cave-rescue-bear-cam-saves-life-new-airbnb-rulesJoin our Candy Club, shop our merch, sign-up for our free newsletter, & more by visiting The Brain Candy Podcast website: https://www.thebraincandypodcast.comConnect with us on social media:BCP Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/braincandypodcastSusie's Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/susiemeisterSarah's Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/imsarahriceBCP Twitter: https://www.twitter.com/braincandypodSusie's Twitter: https://www.twitter.com/susie_meisterSarah's Twitter: https://www.twitter.com/ImSarahRiceSponsors:Head to https://www.smalls.com/braincandy and use promo code: BRAINCANDY at checkout for 50% off your first order PLUS free shipping!Get 20% OFF @honeylove by going to https://www.honeylove.com/braincandy! #honeylovepodHead to https://laundrysauce.com/braincandy and use promo code: BRAINCANDY at checkout for 15% off!Right now, you can get an exclusive 20% off your first order at https://thrivecausemetics.com/braincandySee Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

Ep 747747: Hamster Wheel, Near Death, & Scouts Honor
Sarah shares a disturbing and wild experience recently in which she believes she was drugged at a bar, and how it's affected her behavior. Susie talks about a man who is trying to cross the Atlantic Ocean in a--wait for it--hamster wheel. We learn why this is his "dream," why he keeps getting stopped by the authorities, and what we think is inspiring his quest. We also hear about the American caver who got stuck in a cave in Turkey and had to be rescued because of gastrointestinal issues. We discuss near death experiences, and why one man who studies them is convinced there is life after death. Plus, we learn about "fear death experiences," and what's behind life-flashing-before-your-eyes in those moments of distress. Susie talks about the Scout's Honor documentary on the Boys Scouts abuse allegations. And Sooz Reviews the Never Let Him Go docu-series about a mysterious death of an American PhD student, and how his brother took on the job of investigating it, and why it took 30 years to solve it. We also hear about BS High, which is about a completely made up high school football team that ended up playing on ESPN. Ep 746746: Book Blurbs, Plastic Plants, & Rigged Ratings
Susie tried to send Sarah a gift and it went terribly wrong. We find out why Susie and Sarah have very different relationships with their trainers and Sarah almost had a comically bad run-in with a cactus. We learn why online ratings are no longer helpful due to "data panhandling." Sarah shares why book blurbs are useless and definitely "inspiring and illuminating." Sarah wants to ban all reviews of any kind. She wants a free for all situation instead. We couldn't help but talk about the recent incident on an airplane where they had to turn the whole thing around because somebody had explosive you know what. But not to be outdone, Sarah tells a story about someone at her doctor's office that left a big mess on the floor, and it wasn't who you might think. You know how we've been trying to "save the bees" for years, well turns out, we've been saving the wrong ones all this time.Listen to more podcasts like this: https://wavepodcastnetwork.comRead this week's Newsletter: https://mailchi.mp/thebraincandypodcast/lonely-shoppers-broken-reviews-bee-mythsJoin our Candy Club, shop our merch, sign-up for our free newsletter, & more by visiting The Brain Candy Podcast website: https://www.thebraincandypodcast.comConnect with us on social media:BCP Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/braincandypodcastSusie's Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/susiemeisterSarah's Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/imsarahriceBCP Twitter: https://www.twitter.com/braincandypodSusie's Twitter: https://www.twitter.com/susie_meisterSarah's Twitter: https://www.twitter.com/ImSarahRiceSponsors:Get 5 free AG1 Travel Packs and a FREE 1 year supply of Vitamin D with your first purchase at https://drinkag1.com/braincandyControl Body Odor ANYWHERE with @lumedeodorant and get $5 off off your Starter Pack (that’s over 40% off) with promo code: BRAINCANDY5 at https://lumedeodorant.com/offer/braincandy5! #lumepodGo to https://go.mycopilot.com/braincandy to get a 14-day FREE trial with your own personal trainer!Find your forever pieces @jennikayne and get 15% off with promo code BRAINCANDY at https://www.jennikayne.com/braincandy! #jennikaynepartnerSee Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

Ep 745745: Tennis Tomfoolery, Lifelong Learning, & Auto-Tuning Jesus
We're still talking about that dude who told Sarah to smile, and Susie came up with a new way to handle these men. We celebrate Lincoln's recent accomplishment and entrance into the family business (of winning!). We discuss the Oppenheimer movie and documentary, and discuss how people can be both a victim and victimizer and how humans justify their aggressive or bad behavior. Sarah explains why nukes are stored in Colorado and her recent experience at an "off-road class" that she thinks every driver should have to take. We hear why churches are using auto-tune during their worship services, and we think this flies in the face of the message of Jesus. Susie explains why Christians think they have to be perfect and why it's probably not the best message. We hear what you should include in your emergency kit and there are items you would never expect. We hear why self-checkout lanes might be making the loneliness epidemic worse, but Susie thinks cashiers are not the solution to people's isolation. And we debate whether the new tipping approach everywhere is helping or hurting workers.Listen to more podcasts like this: https://wavepodcastnetwork.comRead this week's Newsletter: https://mailchi.mp/thebraincandypodcast/lonely-shoppers-broken-reviews-bee-mythsJoin our Candy Club, shop our merch, sign-up for our free newsletter, & more by visiting The Brain Candy Podcast website: https://www.thebraincandypodcast.comConnect with us on social media:BCP Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/braincandypodcastSusie's Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/susiemeisterSarah's Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/imsarahriceBCP Twitter: https://www.twitter.com/braincandypodSusie's Twitter: https://www.twitter.com/susie_meisterSarah's Twitter: https://www.twitter.com/ImSarahRiceSponsors:Get $30 off the first box - PLUS free Croissants in every box - when you go to https://wildgrain.com/braincandy to start your subscription!Grab your Liquid I.V. in bulk nationwide at Costco or you can get 20% off when you go to https://www.liquid-iv.com and use code: CANDY at checkout!Get started at https://www.chime.com/braincandyVisit https://www.carawayhome.com/braincandy to take advantage of this limited-time offer for 10% off your next purchase!See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

Ep 744744: Bama Rush, Genius Math, & Repackaging Womanhood
Sarah watched the Bama Rush documentary so we don't have to. The film explores the process of joining an Alabama sorority, the overlord organizations that control the bylaws, and the women who want to join. She explains how there are power dynamics, systemic issues, and all the usual issues plaguing women (e.g. self-esteem, consumerism, body image, etc). We even learn some weird jargon including "rush bag" and "PNMs" (Potential New Members). Sarah shares what technique her mom used to teach her about alcohol tolerance and responsible drinking, but Susie thinks her approach only worked because Sarah is mature and a rule-follower. We bemoan the way we have not gotten any perks from reality tv, but our family members have somehow. We learn about "girl trends" like girl dinner and girl math, and we debate whether it's making space for females without kids, husbands, and partners, or whether it reinforces stereotypes (or both!). We celebrate the Nebraska women's volleyball and the ad campaign that shows why female athletes are just as exciting to watch as men. We trash that loser coach who kissed a female player without her consent. And out of nowhere Sarah explains why she is all for ass-slapping from her teammates.Listen to more podcasts like this: https://wavepodcastnetwork.comRead this week's Newsletter: https://mailchi.mp/thebraincandypodcast/where-are-all-the-lindasJoin our Candy Club, shop our merch, sign-up for our free newsletter, & more by visiting The Brain Candy Podcast website: https://www.thebraincandypodcast.comConnect with us on social media:BCP Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/braincandypodcastSusie's Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/susiemeisterSarah's Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/imsarahriceBCP Twitter: https://www.twitter.com/braincandypodSusie's Twitter: https://www.twitter.com/susie_meisterSarah's Twitter: https://www.twitter.com/ImSarahRiceSponsors:Get 30% off your entire order at https://www.mykitsch.com/braincandyGet 5 free AG1 Travel Packs and a FREE 1 year supply of Vitamin D with your first purchase at https://drinkag1.com/braincandyCancel your unwanted subscriptions – and manage your money the easy way – by going to https://rocketmoney.com/braincandyOur listeners get 15% off your first order at https://www.jennikayne.com when you use code: BRAINCANDY at checkout!Get 55% off your Babbel subscription - but only for our listeners - at https://babbel.com/braincandySee Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

Ep 743743: Body Parts, Brain Worm, & Baby Python
In episode 743, we find out why Susie loves her name and she is hoping someone will name their baby after her. Sarah confesses that she had a teacher mock her name and she's still mad at him (Mr. Majesky, we're looking at you.) Susie talks about the rise and fall of HQ Trivia and why the Tech Bros who fail never seem to pay the consequences. We learn about a change in law that is allowing amputees to keep their body parts for religious reasons and Susie wonders why that wasn't already allowed. We learn about a woman who had a WORM IN HER BRAIN, and Sarah loses her mind about it. It's fantastic. Sarah finds out why she should not cut wildflowers after all. A British Museum wants the police to punish the person that stole all the art that they had stolen from other countries. We discuss the legacy of John Belushi and why he's a hero and a villain just like everyone else!Listen to more podcasts like this: https://wavepodcastnetwork.comRead this week's Newsletter: https://mailchi.mp/thebraincandypodcast/where-are-all-the-lindasJoin our Candy Club, shop our merch, sign-up for our free newsletter, & more by visiting The Brain Candy Podcast website: https://www.thebraincandypodcast.comConnect with us on social media:BCP Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/braincandypodcastSusie's Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/susiemeisterSarah's Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/imsarahriceBCP Twitter: https://www.twitter.com/braincandypodSusie's Twitter: https://www.twitter.com/susie_meisterSarah's Twitter: https://www.twitter.com/ImSarahRiceSponsors:Go to https://www.greenchef.com/60braincandy and use code: 60braincandy to get 60% off plus free shipping!Visit https://ritual.com/braincandy to start Ritual or add Essential Protein to your subscription today!Get 15% off your first order when you use promo code CANDY at https://www.bollandbranch.comGo to https://nutrafol.com and enter the promo code: BRAINCANDY to save $15 off your first month’s subscription!See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

Ep 742742: Sarah's Name Game, Spotless Giraffe, & Dead Art
Today we discuss why we feel so comfortable on the air that we forget people are going to actually hear our nonsense. We talk about the serendipity of Susie's birthday and the incredible Arnold cake Adam got her. Sarah explains why people are returning too much stuff, but really they're just buying too much stuff. We theorize about the giraffe with no spots born at a zoo, and Sarah wonders if it's a cry for help. We hear about an organization that finishes the art projects that people leave behind when they die and why stolen memes helped Susie see the good in the world behind the keyboard anonymity. Plus, Sarah reveals what really happened when a man recently told her to smile and we are livid.Listen to more podcasts like this: https://wavepodcastnetwork.comRead this week's Newsletter: https://mailchi.mp/thebraincandypodcast/susie-and-sarahs-favorite-topics-this-weekJoin our Candy Club, shop our merch, sign-up for our free newsletter, & more by visiting The Brain Candy Podcast website: https://www.thebraincandypodcast.comConnect with us on social media:BCP Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/braincandypodcastSusie's Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/susiemeisterSarah's Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/imsarahriceBCP Twitter: https://www.twitter.com/braincandypodSusie's Twitter: https://www.twitter.com/susie_meisterSarah's Twitter: https://www.twitter.com/ImSarahRiceSponsors:Get 20% OFF @honeylove by going to https://www.honeylove.com/braincandy! #honeylovepodHead to head to https://laundrysauce.com/braincandy and use promo code BRAINCANDY at checkout for 15% off!Use our CoPilot link https://go.mycopilot.com/braincandy to get a 14-day FREE trial with your own personal trainer!Get an exclusive 20% off your first order when you visit https://thrivecausemetics.com/braincandySee Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

Ep 741741: Telemarketers, CPR Scam, & Sports Addicts
Susie talks about her latest obsession, the Telemarketers docuseries on Max. She reveals how a huge telemarketing company changed the industry forever, why we're all at risked of being scammed, and why this documentary is even crazier than you can imagine. Sarah has been watching a bunch of documentaries too, and she explains how they all tie together. We learn why CPR is kind of a scam, and it's an open secret in the medical field that it's usually a performance for the families rather than an effective treatment or life-saving technique. We learn about a tribe in Brazil that is at the center of a debate over land and Susie shares some bizarre ways the "uncontacted" tribe has been introduced to the modern world. We learn the science behind athletic achievements and the real reason it seems like athletes keep getting better. Plus, we lose our minds talking about The Deepest Breath documentary on Netflix, and they say it's not a doc about free diving it's really a doc about addiction.Listen to more podcasts like this: https://wavepodcastnetwork.comRead this week's Newsletter: https://mailchi.mp/thebraincandypodcast/susie-and-sarahs-favorite-topics-this-weekJoin our book club, shop our merch, sign-up for our free newsletter, & more by visiting The Brain Candy Podcast website: https://www.thebraincandypodcast.comConnect with us on social media:BCP Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/braincandypodcastSusie's Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/susiemeisterSarah's Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/imsarahriceBCP Twitter: https://www.twitter.com/braincandypodSusie's Twitter: https://www.twitter.com/susie_meisterSarah's Twitter: https://www.twitter.com/ImSarahRiceSponsors:Get an extended 30 day free trial when you go to https://www.dipseastories.com/braincandyHead to https://www.smalls.com/braincandy and use promo code BRAINCANDY at checkout for 50% off your first order PLUS free shipping!Control Body Odor ANYWHERE with @lumedeodorant and get $5 off off your Starter Pack (that’s over 40% off) with promo code BRAINCANDY5 at https://lumedeodorant.com/offer/braincandy5! #lumepodSign up for pet insurance today and make sure you go to https://embracepetinsurance.com/braincandy or else they won’t know I sent you!See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

Ep 740740: Nerdy by Nature, Texts From My Ex, & Bad News Cameos
Sarah wants Susie's son Lincoln to give her style tips since we're not in the loop anymore. Sarah visited Gothic Mountain and the science lab there, and she is NERDING OUT! We celebrate science, Sarah even cries about it, but then she get real wound up in short order about someone who BOO'ed her (and not the spooky ghost kind) for PICKING FLOWERS! She finally got caught in the act of her plant propagation crimes, and it wasn't pretty. Susie tried to make her feel bad by telling her who scolded her recently, and things calmed down emotionally. But then we were riding the emotional roller coaster again when Sarah put our text chain into a program that tells whether we are compatible. IT WAS WILD! Hear whether the robot thinks we're soul mates or not. We're not over it. People are buying Cameos from famous people to deliver bad news to their friends, family members, and employees, and we're not happy about it! Plus, Sarah gives insider tips about buying luxury goods.Listen to more podcasts like this: https://wavepodcastnetwork.comRead this week's Newsletter: https://mailchi.mp/thebraincandypodcast/switched-at-birth-tree-email-addresses-compatibility-testJoin our book club, shop our merch, sign-up for our free newsletter, & more by visiting The Brain Candy Podcast website: https://www.thebraincandypodcast.comConnect with us on social media:BCP Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/braincandypodcastSusie's Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/susiemeisterSarah's Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/imsarahriceBCP Twitter: https://www.twitter.com/braincandypodSusie's Twitter: https://www.twitter.com/susie_meisterSarah's Twitter: https://www.twitter.com/ImSarahRiceSponsors:Go to https://www.reliefband.com and use promo code: CANDY to receive 20% off plus free shipping!Get 20% OFF @honeylove by going to https://www.honeylove.com/braincandy! #honeylovepodGo to https://go.mycopilot.com/braincandy to get a 14-day FREE trial with your own personal trainer!Find your forever pieces @jennikayne and get 15% off with promo code: BRAINCANDY at https://www.jennikayne.com/braincandy! #jennikaynepartnerGet 55% off your Babbel subscription at https://babbel.com/braincandySee Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

Ep 739739: Horse Girl, Alien Invasion, & Switched at Birth
In episode 739, we're learning that Sarah has not let go of her pipe dreams of being a horse girl. She is itching for a new hobby, and we think horse grooming, trotting, and apple feeding are in her future. She is also in the midst of a very intense bet with Eli about who would win in a mile long swim race. Our money is on Sarah. Susie has amazing news--she got a mammogram! And boy, does she have a story to tell. Apparently, mammograms are not what she expected and she has some notes for the medical community. We hear why Peg Meister (Susie's mom) thinks aliens are "too close for comfort," and we were very excited to hear why. Turns out, we were having a "who's on first" type of conversation. We hear about two older gentlemen in Canada who were switched at birth, and why they both wish they didn't know the truth. Sooz Reviews the Jake Paul Untold episode on Netflix, and the documentary is surprisingly insightful about culture, parental love, sibling rivalry, and more. We did not see that coming. Plus, we talk to Danny Lee Clark aka Nitro from American Gladiators about his time on tv, what he learned through therapy, and what he's up to now.Listen to more podcasts like this: https://wavepodcastnetwork.comRead this week's Newsletter: https://mailchi.mp/thebraincandypodcast/switched-at-birth-tree-email-addresses-compatibility-testJoin our book club, shop our merch, sign-up for our free newsletter, & more by visiting The Brain Candy Podcast website: https://www.thebraincandypodcast.comConnect with us on social media:BCP Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/braincandypodcastSusie's Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/susiemeisterSarah's Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/imsarahriceBCP Twitter: https://www.twitter.com/braincandypodSusie's Twitter: https://www.twitter.com/susie_meisterSarah's Twitter: https://www.twitter.com/ImSarahRiceSponsors:Get $30 off the first box - PLUS free Croissants in every box - when you go to https://wildgrain.com/braincandy to start your subscription!Control Body Odor ANYWHERE with @lumedeodorant and get $5 off off your Starter Pack (that’s over 40% off) with promo code: BRAINCANDY5 at https://lumedeodorant.com/offer/braincandy5! #lumepodGet 15% off your first pair when you go to https://paireyewear.com/braincandyGet 5 free AG1 Travel Packs and a FREE 1 year supply of Vitamin D with your first purchase at https://drinkag1.com/braincandySee Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

Ep 738738: Sublimation, Simulation, and a Superfan Situation
It's raining cats and dogs, cactuses are dying, our pets' heads are falling off! Well, some of those things are true, and Sarah's had it. We hear why Colorado snow is vanishing into thin air, and frankly, the scientists seem to be approaching the problem with a shrug. Susie explains why climate change is exposing even more a-holes on Mt. Everest. Sarah had an experience with a Challenge superfan recently that she thinks is evidence that we're in a simulation, and we need answers. Susie talks about an incredible celebrity sighting and why it was one of her best life experiences. Sarah describes a strange incident on an airplane and why people online are convinced the woman involved "isn't real." Susie is dubious as usual.Listen to more podcasts like this: https://wavepodcastnetwork.comRead this week's Newsletter: https://mailchi.mp/thebraincandypodcast/is-this-a-real-bear-or-a-person-in-a-costumeJoin our book club, shop our merch, sign-up for our free newsletter, & more by visiting The Brain Candy Podcast website: https://www.thebraincandypodcast.comConnect with us on social media:BCP Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/braincandypodcastSusie's Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/susiemeisterSarah's Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/imsarahriceBCP Twitter: https://www.twitter.com/braincandypodSusie's Twitter: https://www.twitter.com/susie_meisterSarah's Twitter: https://www.twitter.com/ImSarahRiceSponsors:Visit https://www.betterhelp.com/braincandy today to get 10% off your first month!Get 5 free AG1 Travel Packs and a FREE 1 year supply of Vitamin D with your first purchase at https://drinkag1.com/braincandyCancel your unwanted subscriptions – and manage your money the easy way – by going to https://rocketmoney.com/braincandyGo to https://go.mycopilot.com/braincandy to get a 14-day FREE trial with your own personal trainer!See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

Ep 737737: Plant Gang, PeeWee, & Pet Cosplay
Susie is trying to call a truce with the airlines. We'll give a little, they'll give a little. Sarah discussed a recent plant theft she participated in and the karmic repercussions she incurred as a result, but Susie is more intrigued by a pattern of plant burglaries Sarah has conducted over the years. Turns out, Sarah is in an actual plant gang. It's hilarious. Susie finally convinced Sarah to join Arnold's Pump Club, and her reaction was shocking. Susie talks about an article on the author of The Body Keeps the Score, and why he's a hero and a villain (and so are the rest of us). We mourn the death of Paul Reubens and Sarah shares what PeeWee meant to her. We discuss the release of one of Charles Manson's "Family" members from prison and debate whether their sentences were fair. We analyze the decision of one man to spend $14,000 on a realistic Collie costume and Sarah explains why someone's childhood might be the driving force to such a strange choice. Plus, we can't stop laughing about the Chinese zoo that was accused of having humans dress up as bears, and we truly can't decide whether we think they are animals or humans in costume.Listen to more podcasts like this: https://wavepodcastnetwork.comRead this week's Newsletter: https://mailchi.mp/thebraincandypodcast/is-this-a-real-bear-or-a-person-in-a-costumeJoin our book club, shop our merch, sign-up for our free newsletter, & more by visiting The Brain Candy Podcast website: https://www.thebraincandypodcast.comConnect with us on social media:BCP Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/braincandypodcastSusie's Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/susiemeisterSarah's Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/imsarahriceBCP Twitter: https://www.twitter.com/braincandypodSusie's Twitter: https://www.twitter.com/susie_meisterSarah's Twitter: https://www.twitter.com/ImSarahRiceSponsors:Get 20% off when you go to https://www.liquid-iv.com and use code: CANDY at checkout!Open a Chime Checking account with at least a $200 qualifying direct deposit to get started at https://www.chime.com/braincandyGet an exclusive 20% off your first order when you visit https://thrivecausemetics.com/braincandyGo to https://nutrafol.com and enter the promo code: BRAINCANDY to save $15 off your first month’s subscription!See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

Ep 736736: Powerful Brain Damage, Dream Decoding, & Body Anomalies
Sarah has a new persona, and she is a Southern Belle. She. Can't. Stop. Bless her heart. Susie found out an Old Gossip celebrity lives five minutes from her house, and she needs tips for how to have a meet cute. Sarah shares scholarship on what power does to the brain, and it is horrifying. Apparently, all it takes is the smallest amount of power and you're basically suffering from a traumatic brain injury, what! Sarah has an equivalent to Susie's love for Arnold Schwarzenegger, and Susie has a theory about him. Sarah had an allergic reaction to her plants, but Susie has finally decided to bite the bullet and get a mammogram, so it's not all bad news around here. We learn what her big Shark Tank plan is for a million dollar idea, and we debate whether bleaching creams are the same as tanning. Sarah talks about a new company that claims it can decode your dreams, and we're kinda convinced.Listen to more podcasts like this: https://wavepodcastnetwork.comRead this week's Newsletter: https://mailchi.mp/thebraincandypodcast/how-power-affects-the-brainJoin our book club, shop our merch, sign-up for our free newsletter, & more by visiting The Brain Candy Podcast website: https://www.thebraincandypodcast.comConnect with us on social media:BCP Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/braincandypodcastSusie's Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/susiemeisterSarah's Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/imsarahriceBCP Twitter: https://www.twitter.com/braincandypodSusie's Twitter: https://www.twitter.com/susie_meisterSarah's Twitter: https://www.twitter.com/ImSarahRiceSponsors:Get 10% off your next purchase at https://www.carawayhome.com/braincandy or use code: BRAINCANDY at checkout!Head to https://www.smalls.com/braincandy and use promo code: BRAINCANDY at checkout for 50% off your first order PLUS free shipping!Head to https://embracepetinsurance.com/braincandy and sign up for pet insurance today!Get 15% off your first order when you use promo code: CANDY at https://www.bollandbranch.comSee Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

Ep 735735: Whistleblowers, Benihana Training, & Barbie Mania
Sarah went to a bridal shower and it was like a Crocodile Dundee experience where there were fancy finger sandwiches and tea and she was still trying to throw down in the shower game. Susie is still immersed in sports, and this time it's NBA legend (and alleged womanizer) Wilt Chamberlain. We discuss why his reputation in the bedroom is more well-known than his basketball talent. Susie talked about a financial whistleblower who turned over billions to the government and had to go to jail anyway (but we think his $104M payout probably softened the blow). We learn why old people actually are buttholes, and the reasons we become cranky in old age. We had a good laugh about our theories about Benihana hibachi chefs and whether we could do that job. We think it's a lot of smoke and mirrors (and shrimp tails) and not a lot of chef skills. Sarah also wants Susie to drop by Panda Express and pick up their latest menu item, and she said ok, so standby for that Sooz Reviews Food Edition. We discuss the Rat Pack and why Dean Martin was a real standup guy. Plus, we revel in Barbie mania and how awesome it is that a "female" movie is such a hit.Listen to more podcasts like this: https://wavepodcastnetwork.comRead this week's Newsletter: https://mailchi.mp/thebraincandypodcast/how-power-affects-the-brainJoin our book club, shop our merch, sign-up for our free newsletter, & more by visiting The Brain Candy Podcast website: https://www.thebraincandypodcast.comConnect with us on social media:BCP Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/braincandypodcastSusie's Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/susiemeisterSarah's Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/imsarahriceBCP Twitter: https://www.twitter.com/braincandypodSusie's Twitter: https://www.twitter.com/susie_meisterSarah's Twitter: https://www.twitter.com/ImSarahRiceSponsors:Go to https://www.greenchef.com/braincandy50 and use code: braincandy50 to get 50% off plus free shipping!Get an extended 30 day free trial when you go to https://www.dipseastories.com/braincandyVisit https://ritual.com/braincandy to start Ritual or add Essential Protein to your subscription today!Modern Fertility is offering our listeners $20 off the test when you go to https://modernfertility.com/braincandySee Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

Ep 734734: Euro Fashion, Gold Medal Packing, & Mosquito Genocide
Today we get a full Croatia Catchup from Sarah Louise, and it's a hilarious journey. We hear why people flock to the country due to their Game of Thrones passion. Sarah naturally had a run-in with an AirBnb host who basically shamed Sarah for asking a question. Susie says Sarah deserves a gold medal in packing and we hear how she managed to pack two weeks worth of clothes AND FOUR PAIRS of shoes in her carryon bags. Sarah has decided she is now a fan influencer, and if you see anyone ANYONE in Denver using a handheld fan it is because Sarah influenced them and not any other reason. We discuss some strange European fashion trends that Sarah wants to embrace despite being what Susie claims is the uniform of a bad cult. We learned some things about mosquitoes that are whatever the opposite of a fun fact is, and Susie would like to eradicate them off the face of the Earth consequences be damned. Finally, we discuss the Long Island Serial Killer (LISK) who lived a double life for decades.Listen to more podcasts like this: https://wavepodcastnetwork.comRead this week's Newsletter: https://mailchi.mp/thebraincandypodcast/bwa1i0joutJoin our book club, shop our merch, sign-up for our free newsletter, & more by visiting The Brain Candy Podcast website: https://www.thebraincandypodcast.comConnect with us on social media:BCP Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/braincandypodcastSusie's Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/susiemeisterSarah's Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/imsarahriceBCP Twitter: https://www.twitter.com/braincandypodSusie's Twitter: https://www.twitter.com/susie_meisterSarah's Twitter: https://www.twitter.com/ImSarahRiceSponsors:Get 5 free AG1 Travel Packs and a FREE 1 year supply of Vitamin D with your first purchase at https://drinkag1.com/braincandyGet 20% OFF @honeylove by going to https://www.honeylove.com/braincandy! #honeylovepodGet 30% off your entire order at https://www.mykitsch.com/braincandyGet $30 off the first box - PLUS free Croissants in every box - when you go to https://wildgrain.com/kya to start your subscription!See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

Ep 733733: Competitive Eating, The Dress, & Soul Boom!
Sarah is home from her Croatian vacation, and she's back in the Brain Candy saddle. We talk about how her summer is shaping up much better than Susie's, and we're wondering if her "year of adventure" is cursed. We hear her latest sports doc commentary on competitive eating, and why her sister couldn't keep watching it, but it made Susie emotional. We debate whether Vanna White deserved a pay increase in the last two decades, and why she apparently has the world's worst agent. We talk about The Dress that went viral years ago for dividing the world about what color it was: blue and black or white and gold. We find out some interesting research that determined the types of people who thought it was dark vs. light, and why their lifestyle informed how they saw it. Plus, we are aghast at the wild twist the Dress took recently with the groom turning out to be a complete psycho. We also hear some Old Gossip about Bruce Lee that we did not see coming. Plus, Susie interviewed Rainn Wilson about his wonderful book, Soul Boom: Why We Need a Spiritual Revolution, and why spirituality is so important for The Office actor and the rest of us too! (Note: This interview was conducted before the SAG AFTRA strike.)Listen to more podcasts like this: https://wavepodcastnetwork.comRead this week's Newsletter: https://mailchi.mp/thebraincandypodcast/24o3vht5paJoin our book club, shop our merch, sign-up for our free newsletter, & more by visiting The Brain Candy Podcast website: https://www.thebraincandypodcast.comConnect with us on social media:BCP Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/braincandypodcastSusie's Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/susiemeisterSarah's Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/imsarahriceBCP Twitter: https://www.twitter.com/braincandypodSusie's Twitter: https://www.twitter.com/susie_meisterSarah's Twitter: https://www.twitter.com/ImSarahRiceSponsors:Get 20% off during your first month at https://ritual.com/braincandyTreat yourself to the best shapewear on the market and save 20% off at https://www.honeylove.com/braincandySee Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

Ep 732732: Coliseum Graffiti, Moving Walkway, & Psychedelic Supremacy
Sarah explains why she's nervous about her vacation, and the reasons this year's trip might turn things around. We are furious about the complete moron who carved his and his girlfriend's name on the coliseum, and Susie thinks his punishment is too harsh and not harsh enough at the same time. We learn about an airport moving walkway that caused a serious injury and a roller coaster that is literally falling apart, and we speculate about why these technical issues are more common than they should be. We hear about a man whose racism was cured through the use of drugs, and we are thrilled about the possibilities of hallucinogens for "changing our minds."Listen to more podcasts like this: https://wavepodcastnetwork.comRead this week's Newsletter: https://mailchi.mp/thebraincandypodcast/24o3vht5paJoin our book club, shop our merch, sign-up for our free newsletter, & more by visiting The Brain Candy Podcast website: https://www.thebraincandypodcast.comConnect with us on social media:BCP Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/braincandypodcastSusie's Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/susiemeisterSarah's Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/imsarahriceBCP Twitter: https://www.twitter.com/braincandypodSusie's Twitter: https://www.twitter.com/susie_meisterSarah's Twitter: https://www.twitter.com/ImSarahRiceSponsors:Cancel unwanted subscriptions – and manage your expenses the easy way – by going to https://rocketmoney.com/braincandyGet an exclusive 20% off your first order when you visit https://thrivecausemetics.com/braincandyGet 15% off your first pair when you go to https://paireyewear.com/braincandyGo to https://nutrafol.com and enter the promo code: BRAINCANDY to save $15 off your first month’s subscription!See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

Ep 731731: Roid Rage, Mean Girls, & Sports Scandals
Susie is on a serious bender with sports documentaries, which is pretty surprising since she thinks sports should be banned. She's fine with steroids, just not sports. Ok. We discuss the punishment Olympics track and field phenom Marion Jones received for cheating in the Olympics, and why Susie thinks the punishment didn't fit the crime. We compare it to the story of Lance Armstrong, and the reasons he feels somewhat justified for his decision to dope. We talk about the ways it's often the cover-up not the crime that causes the real problems. And we hear how the situation with the American Gladiators sounds very similar to our life experiences on the Challenge including pay, injuries, the lack of agency, and the long-term consequences. We hear what histrionic personality disorder is, and why a popular teen movie is the best way to understand the mysterious illness. We learn why synesthesia is different depending on your age. Plus, we learn why the person who popularized the Wizard of Oz viewing while listening to Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon and smoking pot sort of wishes he'd kept the trick to himself.Listen to more podcasts like this: https://wavepodcastnetwork.comRead this week's Newsletter: https://mailchi.mp/thebraincandypodcast/f4oboq4cbsJoin our book club, shop our merch, sign-up for our free newsletter, & more by visiting The Brain Candy Podcast website: https://www.thebraincandypodcast.comConnect with us on social media:BCP Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/braincandypodcastSusie's Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/susiemeisterSarah's Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/imsarahriceBCP Twitter: https://www.twitter.com/braincandypodSusie's Twitter: https://www.twitter.com/susie_meisterSarah's Twitter: https://www.twitter.com/ImSarahRiceSponsors:Head to https://embracepetinsurance.com/braincandy and sign up for pet insurance today!Control Body Odor ANYWHERE with @lumedeodorant and get $5 off off your Starter Pack (that’s over 40% off) with promo code: BRAINCANDY5 at https://lumedeodorant.com/offer/BRAINCANDY5! #lumepodGet $20 off the test when you go to https://modernfertility.com/braincandyVisit https://ritual.com/braincandy to start Ritual or add Essential Protein to your subscription today!See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

Ep 730730: Graduation Registry, Pink Lemonade, & OnlyFans
We consider the possibility of a Sarah proposal and whether she would ever get down on one knee. We hear about a woman who had a gift registry for her doctoral graduation, and Susie is weirdly mad about it. But Sarah thinks it's a cool way to celebrate something other than marriage and kids. We talk about paper weights and antiquated office supplies, and learn they actually make paper weights that aren't useless. We discuss the Harvard morgue manager who was selling body parts, and we realize the media didn't accurately portray him. We learn the origins of pink lemonade, or do we? Apparently, pink lemonade is a confusing and possibly racist drink. Or it's just gross. Or both. We celebrate wieners (not that kind) and talk about how terrible horse racing is. Oh, and we're pretty sure Susie just talked Sarah into starting an OnlyFans.Listen to more podcasts like this: https://wavepodcastnetwork.comRead this week's Newsletter: https://mailchi.mp/thebraincandypodcast/f4oboq4cbsJoin our book club, shop our merch, sign-up for our free newsletter, & more by visiting The Brain Candy Podcast website: https://www.thebraincandypodcast.comConnect with us on social media:BCP Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/braincandypodcastSusie's Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/susiemeisterSarah's Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/imsarahriceBCP Twitter: https://www.twitter.com/braincandypodSusie's Twitter: https://www.twitter.com/susie_meisterSarah's Twitter: https://www.twitter.com/ImSarahRiceSponsors:Sign up for Chime today, and make this summer the best one yet - for yourself and your wallet at https://www.chime.com/braincandyGet an extended 30 day free trial when you go to https://www.dipseastories.com/braincandyGet 20% off when you go to https://www.liquidiv.com and use code: CANDY at checkout!Head to https://www.smalls.com/BRAINCANDY and use promo code: BRAINCANDY at checkout for 50% off your first order PLUS free shipping!See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

Ep 729729: American Gladiators, Shark Attacks, & Nude Bowling
We wonder how future is doing in Croatia, and we hear what Sarah has to say to her future self. We discuss the American Gladiator documentary and all the wild ways it is EXACTLY like the Challenge. Hear why the creators of American Gladiators share the same drama and documentary dichotomy as the Challenge, and why the injuries of the participants are seen as just collateral damage for the "honor" of being on the show. We lament the ways our present self always screws our future self and how humans aren't as evolved and sophisticated as we like to imagine. We discuss nude bowling and theorize why the women are allowed to wear bottoms and we discuss whether a nude model might have motives for his profession that have nothing to do with kinkiness. We hear the history of sharks before and after Jaws, and hear why the movie had a negative impact on the animal kingdom.Listen to more podcasts like this: https://wavepodcastnetwork.comRead this week's Newsletter: https://mailchi.mp/thebraincandypodcast/the-impact-managers-have-on-their-employees-mental-healthJoin our book club, shop our merch, sign-up for our free newsletter, & more by visiting The Brain Candy Podcast website: https://www.thebraincandypodcast.comConnect with us on social media:BCP Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/braincandypodcastSusie's Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/susiemeisterSarah's Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/imsarahriceBCP Twitter: https://www.twitter.com/braincandypodSusie's Twitter: https://www.twitter.com/susie_meisterSarah's Twitter: https://www.twitter.com/ImSarahRiceSponsors:Go to https://www.reliefband.com and use promo code: CANDY to receive 20% off plus free shipping!Try AG1, and get 5 free AG1 Travel Packsand a FREE 1 year supply of Vitamin D with your first purchase at https://drinkag1.com/BRAINCANDYControl Body Odor ANYWHERE with @lumedeodorant and get $5 off off your Starter Pack (that’s over 40% off) with promo code: BRAINCANDY5 at https://lumedeodorant.com/offer/braincandy5! #lumepodSee Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

Ep 728728: It's Like Riding a Bike, Billionaire Babies, & Ant Apocalypse
Sarah thinks they should change the phrase "it's just like riding a bike" to mean that something is very hard, doesn't come naturally, and causes great pain because mountain biking is brutal! This is why Susie is very passionate about her hobby of not moving. It's much better for bruise control. We lament the immaturity of the "billionaire community" and wonder why these man babies can't put their energy toward things that make the world better instead of ego inflation. Millionaires have discovered Dollar Stores and their minds are blown. Ants are aplenty, and we are thoroughly grossed out. Hear why a governmental employee quit her job after just a few days because she was the target of a deep fake campaign and doxxing--just for telling the truth. We discuss the "psychic" who sued a doctor for $1M for causing her "psychic abilities" to "vanish," and what the court had to say about this lawsuit. Sarah is starting a new category of research that she is calling "duh studies."Listen to more podcasts like this: https://wavepodcastnetwork.comRead this week's Newsletter: https://mailchi.mp/thebraincandypodcast/the-impact-managers-have-on-their-employees-mental-healthJoin our book club, shop our merch, sign-up for our free newsletter, & more by visiting The Brain Candy Podcast website: https://www.thebraincandypodcast.comConnect with us on social media:BCP Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/braincandypodcastSusie's Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/susiemeisterSarah's Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/imsarahriceBCP Twitter: https://www.twitter.com/braincandypodSusie's Twitter: https://www.twitter.com/susie_meisterSarah's Twitter: https://www.twitter.com/ImSarahRiceSponsors:Get $30 off the first box - PLUS free Croissants in every box - when you go to https://wildgrain.com/braincandy to start your subscription!Visit https://ritual.com/braincandy to start Ritual or add Essential Protein to your subscription today!Visit https://www.carawayhome.com/braincandy to get 10% off during their Summer Refresh Event!See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

Ep 727727: Kiss My Butt, Negative Brain Bug, & Friendship Lies
In episode 727, we discuss some feedback we got from a listener who was none-too-pleased with our belief that drag queens are fun for the whole family, but what got Susie wound up is that the listener was only mad at Susie. She wants to know why people never get mad at Sarah. Let's spread the hate around a little, people. We debate whether we should talk about the submersible and why it's so horrifying. We hear the history of kissing, and learn what animals kiss romantically besides humans. Sarah thinks it all comes down to oral, but Susie thinks it's an evolutionary hack. We get some old gossip about David Letterman and his head writer in the 80s, Merrill Markoe. We learn why she was fired and how it's an industry-wide issue. Hear why men are still outnumbering women even in cartoons and why the Challenge is part of the problem. Plus, we learn why friendship is different in other countries and the government plays a role in the who you consider a "good friend."Listen to more podcasts like this: https://wavepodcastnetwork.comRead this week's Newsletter: https://mailchi.mp/thebraincandypodcast/6q0y0bbjxvJoin our book club, shop our merch, sign-up for our free newsletter, & more by visiting The Brain Candy Podcast website: https://www.thebraincandypodcast.comConnect with us on social media:BCP Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/braincandypodcastSusie's Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/susiemeisterSarah's Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/imsarahriceBCP Twitter: https://www.twitter.com/braincandypodSusie's Twitter: https://www.twitter.com/susie_meisterSarah's Twitter: https://www.twitter.com/ImSarahRiceSponsors:Get 30% off your entire order at https://www.mykitsch.com/braincandyGet 15% off your first order when you use promo code: CANDY at https://www.bollandbranch.comCancel unwanted subscriptions – and manage your expenses theeasy way – by going to https://rocketmoney.com/braincandySee Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

Ep 726726: Declared Dead, Famous Alumni, & Beige Flags
In episode 726, we find out the crazy connection between Wordle and one of our favorite documentaries. We question why so many people are buried alive, and suggest putting in some safeguards so we don't have any more zombie funerals. We lose our minds about the fact that neither one of us is listed among the famous alumni of our schools, but some bozo who was on an episode of the Voice and a celebrity's assistant made the cut. Hear some of the worst jobs we've had to take--we're talking recently here--and why we never stop hustling. We learn about "beige flags" and discuss some of our own as well as those of our partners. We realized we're pretty weird, and frankly, we should be glad we found people to live with us. We took a moment to say thank you to books. And we hear why more parents are getting involved in their adult kids' careers, and we are not happy about it.Listen to more podcasts like this: https://wavepodcastnetwork.comRead this week's Newsletter: https://mailchi.mp/thebraincandypodcast/6q0y0bbjxvJoin our book club, shop our merch, sign-up for our free newsletter, & more by visiting The Brain Candy Podcast website: https://www.thebraincandypodcast.comConnect with us on social media:BCP Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/braincandypodcastSusie's Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/susiemeisterSarah's Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/imsarahriceBCP Twitter: https://www.twitter.com/braincandypodSusie's Twitter: https://www.twitter.com/susie_meisterSarah's Twitter: https://www.twitter.com/ImSarahRiceSponsors:Go to https://www.greenchef.com/braincandy50 and use code: braincandy50 to get 50% off plus free shipping!Get an exclusive 20% off your first order when you visit https://thrivecausemetics.com/braincandyThis episode is sponsored by BetterHelp. Ep 725725: Sooz Reviews, Titanic Truthers, & The SNL Problem
In episode 725, we start with a brand new segment we're calling Sooz Reviews where Susie tells us which things to watch or read. Today she's giving her thoughts on a bunch of stand-up specials made by women comics including Sarah Silverman, Amy Schumer, Hannah Gatsby, Wanda Sykes, and Leanne Morgan. She talks about how exciting it is to have more perspectives on the stage instead of the same old jokes. We try to understand people who insist on believing in conspiracy theories about things that are not really up for debate (we're looking at you Flat Earthers) including people who think the Titanic didn't sink or was sunk purposely. We discuss the 1972 Best Documentary film, MarJoe, and how we can't believe we didn't hear about it before. Marjoe was a child preacher who decided to return to revivals just to make money even though he didn't believe his message any more and let a film crew document his methods of swindling people. Plus, we talk about the issues SNL has had over forty years, and the reasons Lorne Michaels hasn't been held accountable for the deaths, alleged assaults, and misconduct among the cast.Listen to more podcasts like this: https://wavepodcastnetwork.comRead this week's Newsletter: https://mailchi.mp/thebraincandypodcast/is-sarah-returning-to-the-challenge-sooz-reviewsJoin our book club, shop our merch, sign-up for our free newsletter, & more by visiting The Brain Candy Podcast website: https://www.thebraincandypodcast.comConnect with us on social media:BCP Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/braincandypodcastSusie's Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/susiemeisterSarah's Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/imsarahriceBCP Twitter: https://www.twitter.com/braincandypodSusie's Twitter: https://www.twitter.com/susie_meisterSarah's Twitter: https://www.twitter.com/ImSarahRiceSponsors:Get 5 free AG1 Travel Packs and a FREE 1 year supply of Vitamin D with your first purchase at https://drinkag1.com/braincandyControl Body Odor ANYWHERE with @lumedeodorant and get $5 off off your Starter Pack (that’s over 40% off) with promo code: BRAINCANDY at https://lumedeodorant.com/braincandy! #lumepodSee Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

Ep 724724: White People Lunches, Hobby Lobby Satan, & Prosthetic Penis
Hear why Sarah says she's not going back on the Challenge (but Susie is trying to persuade her to change her mind). We hear about a woman who went viral with an image of Satan at Hobby Lobby and the conservatives got really scared they might have to boycott. UPS finally got air-conditioning for their vans thanks to union efforts, but Susie is hoping they move to better uniforms next. Chinese people are making fun of "white people lunches" because they look like "rabbit food." Sarah is loving it, but Susie is getting defensive about her raw carrots. We celebrate a boy who got hired to work on the SpiderMan movie after his LEGO creation went viral, but Susie would rather talk about a hilarious LEGO rivalry/mystery. We learn about the "glamorous" life of a hand model, but get real sidetracked when we think about other body parts that have models, and Susie finds out that Huey Lewis has a giant wiener (aka The News). We debate whether women have "dick amnesia" and hear why Susie thinks she has dick photographic memory. Plus, we revisit the Duggar discussion, and hear why Susie related to their story.Listen to more podcasts like this: https://wavepodcastnetwork.comRead this week's Newsletter: https://mailchi.mp/thebraincandypodcast/is-sarah-returning-to-the-challenge-sooz-reviewsJoin our book club, shop our merch, sign-up for our free newsletter, & more by visiting The Brain Candy Podcast website: https://www.thebraincandypodcast.comConnect with us on social media:BCP Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/braincandypodcastSusie's Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/susiemeisterSarah's Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/imsarahriceBCP Twitter: https://www.twitter.com/braincandypodSusie's Twitter: https://www.twitter.com/susie_meisterSarah's Twitter: https://www.twitter.com/ImSarahRiceSponsors:Get an extended 30 day free trial when you go to https://www.dipseastories.com/braincandyGo to https://nutrafol.com/ and enter the promo code: BRAINCANDY to save $15 off your first month’s subscription!Head to https://www.smalls.com/braincandy and use promo code: BRAINCANDY at checkout for 50% off your first order PLUS free shipping! Ep 723723: Be Useful, Artistic Swimming, & Little Richard's Complicated Life
Today we wonder if we'll ever run out of things to talk about (and then quickly realize we never shut up, so we're probably ok). We celebrate the genius of Swedish pancakes and Sarah confesses to a typo on Brain Candy merch. Susie has decided to join a cult, and her leader is none other than Arnold Schwarzenegger. She explains why he is her newest obsession and his motto is something she is going to embrace because it's wonderful, but also because it's the antidote to self-pity. Susie can't believe what her son had to do in school, but Sarah says she had to do it too, and it's no big whoop. We learn the new name for synchronized swimming and the reason why these amazing athletes pass out underwater. Plus we discuss the legacy of Little Richard, and how he was a trailblazer for the gay community, but never fully accepted himself despite his presentation as a flamboyant and fabulous musical genius.Listen to more podcasts like this: https://wavepodcastnetwork.comRead this week's Newsletter: https://mailchi.mp/thebraincandypodcast/check-out-this-hollywood-memorabilia-auctionJoin our book club, shop our merch, sign-up for our free newsletter, & more by visiting The Brain Candy Podcast website: https://www.thebraincandypodcast.comConnect with us on social media:BCP Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/braincandypodcastSusie's Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/susiemeisterSarah's Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/imsarahriceBCP Twitter: https://www.twitter.com/braincandypodSusie's Twitter: https://www.twitter.com/susie_meisterSarah's Twitter: https://www.twitter.com/ImSarahRiceSponsors:Get a FREE 1-year supply of Vitamin D AND 5 free travel packs with your first purchase at https://athleticgreens.com/braincandyControl Body Odor ANYWHERE with @lumedeodorant and get $5 off off your Starter Pack (that’s over 40% off) with promo code: BRAINCANDY5 at https://lumedeodorant.com/braincandy! #lumepodVisit https://ritual.com/braincandy to start Ritual or add Essential Protein to your subscription today!See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

Ep 722722: Sherpa Shunning, Jungle Miracle, & Adult Dreams
Our lives are so crazy that even Sarah's roof's membrane has been punctured and we don't even know what that means. There has been extreme weather events and she has swarms of birds chasing her, so several of the biblical plagues are already affecting this poor woman. We talk about how dumb people are and airlines are even dumber. We discuss the Hollywood auction that is making us want to save our pennies or start a GoFundMe. We learn why men are fickle about the size of women they date. We celebrate the four children who survived forty days in the jungle, but worry that the worst is still ahead for these amazing siblings. Sarah explains why her dreams have been disappointing lately, and she is trying to become a kid again, at least while she sleeps.Listen to more podcasts like this: https://wavepodcastnetwork.comRead this week's Newsletter: https://mailchi.mp/thebraincandypodcast/check-out-this-hollywood-memorabilia-auctionJoin our book club, shop our merch, sign-up for our free newsletter, & more by visiting The Brain Candy Podcast website: https://www.thebraincandypodcast.comConnect with us on social media:BCP Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/braincandypodcastSusie's Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/susiemeisterSarah's Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/imsarahriceBCP Twitter: https://www.twitter.com/braincandypodSusie's Twitter: https://www.twitter.com/susie_meisterSarah's Twitter: https://www.twitter.com/ImSarahRiceSponsors:Get $30 off the first box - PLUS free Croissants in every box - when you go to https://wildgrain.com/braincandy to start your subscription!Sign up for a Chime Checking Account today to link your paycheck. Ep 721721: Shiny Happy People, Natalia Grace, & Anne Frank Detective
Sarah had a drunken weekend, and her arch supports were working overtime on the dance floor. Susie reviews the Duggar documentary series, Shiny Happy People, and we hear why the child predation, religious extremism, and patriarchy are predictable, but the shock came in seeing how the Discovery channel seemed complicit (or at least incompetent/negligent in stopping) the abuse. We learn about a woman who was catatonic for twenty years, and then awoke with memories from her childhood, the ability to talk, and an awareness about her identity. Susie thought a beluga whale was a robot, but found out it was just Flipper with a Go-Pro strapped to its back. She was giving Russian way too much credit. We discuss the Curious Case of Natalia Grace, and why we had originally fallen for the lie that a Ukrainian orphan was a woman instead of a child. Plus, Susie reveals who is responsible for the capture of Anne Frank and why her dad never pursued revenge on the man who caused his family to die in World War II.Listen to more podcasts like this: https://wavepodcastnetwork.comRead this week's Newsletter: https://mailchi.mp/thebraincandypodcast/is-sex-going-to-become-an-official-sportJoin our book club, shop our merch, sign-up for our free newsletter, & more by visiting The Brain Candy Podcast website: https://www.thebraincandypodcast.comConnect with us on social media:BCP Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/braincandypodcastSusie's Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/susiemeisterSarah's Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/imsarahriceBCP Twitter: https://www.twitter.com/braincandypodSusie's Twitter: https://www.twitter.com/susie_meisterSarah's Twitter: https://www.twitter.com/ImSarahRiceSponsors:For a limited time only, get 25% off with the code BRAINCANDY at https://www.trueclassic.comIf you go to https://www.reliefband.com and use promo code: CANDY you’ll receive 20% off plus free shipping!Go to https://www.fastgrowingtrees.com/braincandy NOW to get 15% OFF your entire order!Head to https://www.smalls.com/braincandy and use promo code: BRAINCANDY at checkout for 50% off your first order PLUS free shipping!See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

Ep 720720: Arch Support, Darwin Awards, & Sexy Sports
Sarah is leaving her crop top era and entering her roomy sweatshirt era. It's a vibe. We hear a symptom of her aging process that requires the help of Dr. Scholl's. And only Sarah could mess up the cure for what ails her in such a hilarious way. We learn about a strange trend on Amazon that Sarah is convinced is the work of a ring of fetishists who can't get enough of a good product review. We discuss some contenders for this year's Darwin Awards including a man who drank gasoline thinking it was an energy drink. We hear why some think social media and YouTube content encourages indentured servitude and the exploitation of kids. And we debate the Swedish Sex Federation's proposal to make sex an official sport complete with categories of seduction and posing to be judged for proficiency. All of the sudden Susie is pro-sports.Listen to more podcasts like this: https://wavepodcastnetwork.comRead this week's episode: https://mailchi.mp/thebraincandypodcast/is-sex-going-to-become-an-official-sportJoin our book club, shop our merch, sign-up for our free newsletter, & more by visiting The Brain Candy Podcast website: https://www.thebraincandypodcast.comConnect with us on social media:BCP Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/braincandypodcastSusie's Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/susiemeisterSarah's Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/imsarahriceBCP Twitter: https://www.twitter.com/braincandypodSusie's Twitter: https://www.twitter.com/susie_meisterSarah's Twitter: https://www.twitter.com/ImSarahRiceSponsors:Cancel unwanted subscriptions – and manage your expenses theeasy way – by going to https://rocketmoney.com/braincandyGrab your Liquid I.V. in bulk nationwide at Costco or you can get 20% off when you go to https://www.liquid-iv.com and use code: CANDY at checkout!Get an exclusive 20% off your first order when you visit https://thrivecausemetics.com/braincandyVisit https://www.carawayhome.com/braincandy to get 10% off during their Summer Refresh Event!See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

Ep 719719: Good Moms, Top Sheets, & Secrets of Hillsong
Today we hear about the history of moms in advertisements, and the ways companies have adjusted their portrayal of and advertisements to moms. We hear what changed and what has stayed the same from the 1950s through the 20th century. We discuss the debate about whether a top sheet is necessary, and Sarah and Susie are on team millennial on this one. Susie describes a wardrobe malfunction she had as a kid that created some of her darkest (not really) moments and it turns out Sarah is still experiencing this nightmare of the haste-makes-waste variety. Susie watched the new Hillsong church documentary, and she explains why it is so effective at challenging the structure of many Christian churches and how the "bad apple" model that undid Pastor Carl Lentz's career was a smokescreen for the actual issues. Plus we hear why casinos are making more money than ever even though they are getting less business.Listen to more podcasts like this: https://wavepodcastnetwork.comRead this week's Newsletter: https://mailchi.mp/thebraincandypodcast/what-should-they-do-with-hitlers-houseJoin our book club, shop our merch, sign-up for our free newsletter, & more by visiting The Brain Candy Podcast website: https://www.thebraincandypodcast.comConnect with us on social media:BCP Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/braincandypodcastSusie's Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/susiemeisterSarah's Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/imsarahriceBCP Twitter: https://www.twitter.com/braincandypodSusie's Twitter: https://www.twitter.com/susie_meisterSarah's Twitter: https://www.twitter.com/ImSarahRiceSponsors:This episode is sponsored by BetterHelp. Ep 718718: Snakes on a Plane, Living Forever, & Police Chase
Susie teased Sarah about her compulsion to comment on the number of every single episode, which reminded us about the importance of accountability, and how people who live alone too long getting a little...weird. Sarah talks about the tech mogul who is trying to extend his life (or be immortal?) by injecting his son's blood, but we think he's basically inviting the universe to smite him dead. We learn about a woman who smuggled dozens of snake in her carry-on luggage, and many of these NOT SMALL snakes got loose on the plane. Susie thinks she deserves the death penalty, but her punishment was way less than that. We hear why people are mad at the police for their helicopters and Susie describes the time she was chased by a police helicopter. We hear about a lawyer who needs to learn the reasons why you can't fact check ChatGPT with ChapGPT. Plus, we learn about a flight on which everyone died even though the plane didn't crash.Listen to more podcasts like this: https://wavepodcastnetwork.comRead this week's Newsletter: https://mailchi.mp/thebraincandypodcast/what-should-they-do-with-hitlers-houseJoin our book club, shop our merch, sign-up for our free newsletter, & more by visiting The Brain Candy Podcast website: https://www.thebraincandypodcast.comConnect with us on social media:BCP Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/braincandypodcastSusie's Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/susiemeisterSarah's Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/imsarahriceBCP Twitter: https://www.twitter.com/braincandypodSusie's Twitter: https://www.twitter.com/susie_meisterSarah's Twitter: https://www.twitter.com/ImSarahRiceSponsors:Go to https://www.greenchef.com/braincandy60 and use code braincandy60 to get 60% off plus free shipping.Get an extended 30 day free trial when you go to https://www.dipseastories.com/braincandyGet 20% OFF @honeylove by going to https://www.honeylove.com/braincandy! #honeylovepodGo to https://nutrafol.com and enter the promo code: BRAINCANDY to save $15 off your first month’s subscription!See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

Ep 717717: Pregnancy Tests, Anna Nicole's Lies, & World's Greatest Mom
Susie is worked about the Anna Nicole Smith documentary, and the lies she told throughout her life to make money, the price she and her family paid for her lies, and why reality tv wasn't her biggest problem. We hear some old gossip about why Eddie Murphy called out David Letterman for racism, and the way interviewers treat Black celebrities. We hear the history of the home pregnancy test, and how women used to be stigmatized if they even wanted to know whether or not they were pregnant, they waited months for confirmation, and were forced to wear gigantic tents instead of normal human clothes during their pregnancies. We discuss people who "lurk" online (i.e. consume everyone else's content, but don't contribute much of their own), and why it drives Susie crazy. We fact check an article that claimed priests would be forced to wear QR codes that say whether they're predators or not. Plus, we find out what the record is for the person who has birthed the most babies in history, and we think it's a lie.Listen to more podcasts like this: https://wavepodcastnetwork.comRead this week's Newsletter: https://mailchi.mp/thebraincandypodcast/efwmmamq8hJoin our book club, shop our merch, sign-up for our free newsletter, & more by visiting The Brain Candy Podcast website: https://www.thebraincandypodcast.comConnect with us on social media:BCP Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/braincandypodcastSusie's Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/susiemeisterSarah's Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/imsarahriceBCP Twitter: https://www.twitter.com/braincandypodSusie's Twitter: https://www.twitter.com/susie_meisterSarah's Twitter: https://www.twitter.com/ImSarahRiceSponsors:Get 25% OFF @trueclassic with promo code BRAINCANDY at trueclassictees.com/BRAINCANDY! #trueclassicpodGet 30% off your entire order at https://www.mykitsch.com/braincandyControl Body Odor ANYWHERE with @lumedeodorant and get $5 off off your Starter Pack (that’s over 40% off) with promo code BRAINCANDY at https://lumedeodorant.com/braincandy! #lumepod! #lumepodSee Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

Ep 716716: Food Fight, Rodeo Crimes, & Animal MMA
Sarah was a celebrity judge for a wing contest, and Susie thinks they picked the wrong winner. But she's probably just on edge because her favorite restaurant burnt down recently! We discuss why the chicken community has a lot of scandals and you don't always get what you order. Sarah learned about a crazy sport that has inmates competing for small sums of money, and we debate whether this is an ethical practice and who is getting rich off of people who are incarcerated. We hear about a pod (or should we say gang?) of orca whales who have banded together to seek revenge against a group of ships, and Susie is rooting for the humans while Sarah is team orca. We also learn about a poll where people said which animals they could beat in a fight, and we are shocked at the confidence (and/or strength??) of a lot of people who seem to think they could be victorious against lions, king cobras, and bears. Come on now. We got an update on Sarah's upcoming "marathon" (aka Sarahthon), and why she thinks her optimism about her abilities might have bit her in the butt this time around. Plus, we learn what a "lifetime supply" of various products actually is, and it's ridiculous.Listen to more podcasts like this: https://wavepodcastnetwork.comRead this week's Newsletter: https://mailchi.mp/thebraincandypodcast/efwmmamq8hJoin our book club, shop our merch, sign-up for our free newsletter, & more by visiting The Brain Candy Podcast website:https://www.thebraincandypodcast.comConnect with us on social media:BCP Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/braincandypodcastSusie's Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/susiemeisterSarah's Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/imsarahriceBCP Twitter: https://www.twitter.com/braincandypodSusie's Twitter: https://www.twitter.com/susie_meisterSarah's Twitter: https://www.twitter.com/ImSarahRiceGet $30 off the first box - PLUS free Croissants in every box - when you go to https://wildgrain.com/braincandy to start your subscription!Get $20 off your first purchase at https://rothys.com/braincandyGet a FREE 1-year supply of Vitamin D AND 5 free travel packs with your first purchase at https://athleticgreens.com/braincandySee Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

Ep 715715: Living Wills, Chess Champion, & TikTok Detective
Susie starts telling a story about how she and Adam got into a fight over their estate planning and living wills, but she is suddenly interrupted in a stranger-than-fiction actual emergency while we're recording. When we reconvene, we hear what happened, and discuss the strange coincidence of the timing. It's wild. She talks about her new interest in chess, and tries to understand why chess might attract a certain kind of person, like Bobby Fischer, whose genius offers incredible skill at the game, but ends up causing their demise. And we discuss a scandal in the chess world involving b-holes, but Susie thinks it's more related to the type of person who is obsessed with chess. And we learn about the woman with the highest IQ, the reason why she isn't more famous, and why she was treated so predicably bad by interviewers over the years. We hear about a possible serial killer stalking the streets of Chicago and how one TikToker thinks he is going to solve the mystery with his "investigation." Hear why YouTubers keep doing cringey and dangerous things, and it's making us nuts. Susie shares why a lot of Asian-American women are named Connie, and how representation is so important. Plus, we debate who sold out more: Maury Povich or Judge Judy.Listen to more podcasts like this: https://wavepodcastnetwork.comRead this week's Newsletter: https://mailchi.mp/thebraincandypodcast/the-woman-with-the-highest-iqJoin our Candy Club, shop our merch, sign-up for our free newsletter, & more by visiting The Brain Candy Podcast website: https://www.thebraincandypodcast.comConnect with us on social media:BCP Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/braincandypodcastSusie's Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/susiemeisterSarah's Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/imsarahriceBCP Twitter: https://www.twitter.com/braincandypodSusie's Twitter: https://www.twitter.com/susie_meisterSarah's Twitter: https://www.twitter.com/ImSarahRiceSee Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

Ep 714714: Atmospheric Jams, Pasta Mystery, & Mystery Sounds
Sarah went to a concert where the "music" was so experimental, she wasn't even sure when to clap or how to dance to it. Susie has a sneaking suspicion white men are behind this "musical" innovation, and someone should tell these fellas to stick to the classics. Sarah's been thinking about the cow tongue mystery we covered recently and she found some other mysteries that might also fall into the alien invasion theory. Apparently infrasounds were recorded in space that do not have a clear origin, but Susie is more interested in hearing how someone managed to make a balloon the size of a basketball court. There were also tremors detected in Denmark that did not come from an earthquake and experts have no idea what caused it. We would like to know who is calling the geological association to report these tremors instead of going to Twitter like a normal person. We discuss the mystery of hundreds of pounds of pasta dumped in the woods, and Susie thinks the case has definitely been solved, but Sarah needs some convincing.Listen to more podcasts like this: https://wavepodcastnetwork.comRead this week's Newsletter: https://mailchi.mp/thebraincandypodcast/the-woman-with-the-highest-iqJoin our Candy Club, shop our merch, sign-up for our free newsletter, & more by visiting The Brain Candy Podcast website: https://www.thebraincandypodcast.comConnect with us on social media:BCP Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/braincandypodcastSusie's Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/susiemeisterSarah's Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/imsarahriceBCP Twitter: https://www.twitter.com/braincandypodSusie's Twitter: https://www.twitter.com/susie_meisterSarah's Twitter: https://www.twitter.com/ImSarahRiceSee Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

Ep 713713: White Lies, Jeopardy Mystery, & Patient Zero
Today we hear about a Jewish family who had a daughter that did not look like them. In fact, she looked Black. And it turned out her mom had an affiar with a Black man, but just never mentioned it to her husband, the daguther (who thought her familial dad was her biological dad until she was in college even though she was dark skinned), or anyone else. It is wild! We discuss how we can convince ourselves to believe things if we are invested in doing so. Susie details a story of a Jeopardy! contestant whose five episode streak in the 80s disappeared from reruns and all streaming and digital archives of the show and she was not invited to Tournament of Champions in the year of her victories, which led to wild speculation about the reason for her omission. Some thought she was just a big old b-word, some thought she was combative with Alex, and others thought she lied about her identity on her application. It turned out the reason was far more hilarious and the perfect story for our show. We cannot quit laughing about this. Sarah deemed this segment among our greatest of all time. We hear why Susie's sister has become one of the faces of AI. And we discuss the man who became known as Patient Zero for AIDS in America, why that designation was inaccurate, why he made some mistakes after being infected, and how his willingness to cooperate with doctors probably saved many lives. It's a story of how we can be a hero and still be flawed and fallible. Ep 712712: Jury Duty, Documentary Dupe, & Museum Graffiti
Sarah is $400 richer thanks to a tip from Susie, and you might have money waiting for you too! Sarah watched a series on Amazon that is a must-see, and had her in stitches, but also raised some ideas about our gullibility, the legal system, and reality tv. She also watched a film that was marketed as a documentary, and only after she had started the SEQUEL did she realize it was a completely scripted movie. She wants her money back, Bezos! We discuss a trend called "Bare Minimum Mondays" where people ease into the work week to help with burnout, and Susie is rolling her eyes about it. Sarah thinks she would prefer a Foot Off the Gas Fridays instead, but Susie wants people to realize 1) we all do have to work whether we like it or not, 2) a gimmicky life hack isn't the solution to the systemic issues that cause our burnout and malaise. We debate whether a kid who drew on a museum piece in crayon was a hooligan, has bad parents, or was doing exactly what any kid would do if the museum handed him a crayon in an art gallery...or all of the above. Plus, Sarah provides Goodwill tips and a cleaning hack that is saving the day in her closet.Listen to more podcasts like this: https://wavepodcastnetwork.comRead this week's Newsletter: https://mailchi.mp/thebraincandypodcast/our-favorite-brain-candy-story-of-all-timeJoin our Candy Club, shop our merch, sign-up for our free newsletter, & more by visiting The Brain Candy Podcast website: https://www.thebraincandypodcast.comConnect with us on social media:BCP Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/braincandypodcastSusie's Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/susiemeisterSarah's Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/imsarahriceBCP Twitter: https://www.twitter.com/braincandypodSusie's Twitter: https://www.twitter.com/susie_meisterSarah's Twitter: https://www.twitter.com/ImSarahRiceSee Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

Ep 711711: Optimism, Alien Cow Deaths, & Death of the Limo
We hear what Sarah learned from the grieving process after losing her dog. Susie shares why it's so hard to teach someone not to procrastinate. We discuss the amazing fortitude and tenacity of Michael J. Fox, and what he says is the secret to staying optimistic despite difficult circumstances. Susie is convinced that aliens are killing cows and taking out their tongues, and Sarah explains why it makes perfect sense for aliens to take tongues and b-holes. We learn about a woman in Australia who was convicted of murdering several of her children over a decade, but now she might be freed due to new evidence. But we are absolutely stumped about whether she did it or not. Susie explains why the limousine industry has changed dramatically over the last twenty years from the car of choice of the rich and famous to being a prom and wedding mobile for the middle class. And we discuss a review we received that was critical of Susie, and she explains why the reviewer should take heart about Susie's personality.Listen to more podcasts like this: https://wavepodcastnetwork.comRead this week's Newsletter: https://mailchi.mp/thebraincandypodcast/can-you-describe-a-feeling-you-never-feltJoin our Candy Club, shop our merch, sign-up for our free newsletter, & more by visiting The Brain Candy Podcast website: https://www.thebraincandypodcast.comConnect with us on social media:BCP Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/braincandypodcastSusie's Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/susiemeisterSarah's Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/imsarahriceBCP Twitter: https://www.twitter.com/braincandypodSusie's Twitter: https://www.twitter.com/susie_meisterSarah's Twitter: https://www.twitter.com/ImSarahRiceSee Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

Ep 710710: No Frills Motel, Jewish Weird Al, & All the Feels
Today we find out why Sarah regrets signing up for a marathon and Susie is saying I told you so, but she's also suggesting Sarah hop in a car and cheat in the race. Sarah thinks Weird Al is the sweet and square version of Howard Stern, but it turns out he's the gentile Howard Stern. Susie tells us about the time she met Weird Al and shares a sad story about his life. Sarah talks about an extremely rare condition where the person cannot feel anything at all--pleasure, pain, or pressure. We learn how a woman who has this condition has struggled to understand lots of phrases because of how frequently language relies on metaphors that refer to touch and feeling. We get an update about the principal who was fired for letting students look at the Michelangelo David statue, and how she's making lemonade out of the lemons. We hear about a test that can determine whether a child has been sexualized too early.Listen to more podcasts like this: https://wavepodcastnetwork.comRead this week's Newsletter: https://mailchi.mp/thebraincandypodcast/can-you-describe-a-feeling-you-never-feltJoin our Candy Club, shop our merch, sign-up for our free newsletter, & more by visiting The Brain Candy Podcast website: https://www.thebraincandypodcast.comConnect with us on social media:BCP Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/braincandypodcastSusie's Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/susiemeisterSarah's Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/imsarahriceBCP Twitter: https://www.twitter.com/braincandypodSusie's Twitter: https://www.twitter.com/susie_meisterSarah's Twitter: https://www.twitter.com/ImSarahRiceSee Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.
