Not long after, she became pregnant and discovered that she was at high risk for placental challenges in the second half of her pregnancy. She went from an uneventful pregnancy to a high-stress pregnancy where every day she worried about her baby's survival. Positive Parenting Benefits the Whole Family w/Shari Medini

As moms, we know how unpredictable life can be, so it's normal to have some bad days. However, they should always be in the minority, and if they aren't, it may be time to take a look at our parenting strategies. Could our present approach be making us more susceptible to an endless cycle of 'off' days? Where are we going wrong? Can we switch it up so the good days outnumber the bad? In this episode, co-author of Parenting While Working from Home and co-owner of AdoreThemParenting.com, Shari Medini shares how to implement positive parenting. 3 Things You'll Learn in This Episode Why we need to be mindful of what we're taking in Parenting isn't always glamorous, and that's what makes cynically funny blogs so relatable. However, while it's important to validate our experiences, getting too caught up in the negatives will only add to our frustrations, so we have to remind ourselves of the good, too. How to create a more positive dynamic with our kids 'Because I said so' is often a go-to response when our kids question us, but it's not the most conducive to their learning. By explaining to our children why they need to do something, we can open up a conversation, rather than issue commands. Why positive parenting isn't lax parenting Positive parenting isn't about giving our kids free rein to do whatever they want: in fact, it's a way to give them more responsibility, while setting boundaries. This gives them the space to make their own decisions with our guidance, instead of our micromanagement. Guest Bio- Shari Medini is the co-author of Parenting while Working from Home and co-owner of AdoreThemParenting.com, alongside her business partner, Karissa Tunis. With six kids between the two of them and over a decade of work from home experience, both Shari and Karissa love sharing strategies that help fellow parents minimize the overwhelm while trying to juggle it all. The only question is, how big can our results be from small sales? Can sales on low-priced items translate to something bigger? In this episode, I share why flash sales are the method used by millionaires. Three Things You'll Learn in This Episode Why we should never discount the power of a low-priced productFlash sales on smaller products don't always sound exciting, but the results can be incredible. Charging between $27 and $47 for something small but useful creates an 'easy yes' for customers, and can quickly translate into $10,000 in just one day. How to add an upsell to 'easy yes' products Our customers may be on our websites for a sale, but that doesn't mean they won't be interested in other, similar products. Link relevant items on the checkout page and suggest them as add-ons. How to ensure an 'easy yes' really is easyA lower price point makes it easy for customers to agree to, but a complicated product will keep them thinking twice. Make sure 'easy yes' products offer simple solutions to very specific problems, like gaining 15 more Instagram followers or making 5 additional sales.

How to Rekindle Intimacy and Connect With Your Partner w/Leona Carter

Intimacy is an incredibly important part of any relationship because it helps us relate to our loved ones. However, getting that intimacy right isn't always easy. For many women, intimacy comes with challenges, and many of those stem from not understanding what our loved ones need from us, or what we need from them. Real intimacy takes work, but it's worth it. The only question is, where do we start? How can we get better at connecting with our significant others when it feels like we're just not in sync? Is it possible to completely connect when we have so much going on in our lives already? In this episode, best-selling author, speaker, and intimacy coach, Leona Carter shares how to foster deeper connections with our partners. Three Things You'll Learn in This Episode Why intimacy is something we have to work towards By the time both we and our partners have come home from work, we've spent hours apart, so we shouldn't expect to be in the mood as soon as we walk through the door. Especially as women, we have to feel connected to our partners, so start by having a conversation and connecting. How to get into the right headspace for intimacy It's tough to be present when just a minute ago we were getting the kids to bed or hopping off a business call. Instead of heading right into the bedroom with our partner, it's a good idea to take a moment to re-center and feel like ourselves, outside of being business owners and moms. The importance of communication Most of us are guilty of thinking our partner should know what we want or need, but that just isn't the case. We have to get better at expressing ourselves, and if we're still finding that challenging, seek the help of a coach! Guest Bio- Leona Carter empowers women to build intimacy with their husbands through the power of dating again. She is a speaker, best-selling author, and intimacy coach. Understanding Codependency: How to Love without Losing Yourself w/Michelle Farris

Setting boundaries is a huge part of taking control of our lives, but doing that can be ridiculously difficult if we're codependent. The only problem is, many of us don't know if we fall into that category or not. Despite codependence being a buzzword we're hearing a lot at the moment, many of us are still unsure about what exactly codependency is. So, what is it? Could we be codependent without realizing it? Is there anything we can do to break the cycle of people-pleasing for good if we know we're in the habit? In this episode, psychotherapist Michelle Farris shares the tell-tale signs of codependency and what to do about it! Three Things You'll Learn in This Episode What codependency means At its core, codependency is a relationship pattern where we focus on other people's best interests at our own expense. While it's perfectly normal to make sacrifices for loved ones from time to time, with codependency it becomes the rule, rather than the exception. How to tell the difference between being helpful and being codependent There will always be times we don't feel like doing something, but when we really don't want to, we'll feel it in our gut. If we're ignoring our intuition because we're worried about someone else's reaction (and if we're doing it repeatedly) we're not just being helpful, we're breaking our boundaries. Why codependency breeds resentment When we set unrealistic expectations of people-pleasing for ourselves, we start believing the people around us should be acting the same way without ever communicating that to them. This only leads to bitterness in the long term, and it could all be avoided in the first place. Guest Bio- Michelle Farris is a licensed psychotherapist in San Jose California. In her private practice Michelle found her sweet spot in teaching relationship skills that are easy to implement fast. She believes that being a good therapist means doing your own work. How to Build Positivity and Self-Confidence When Affirmations Aren't Enough w/Jacqui Letran

We've spent an entire year in various forms of lockdown, so it's no surprise that discussions about mental health are a top priority for many of us at this moment. As moms, we must check in with ourselves, and we have to ensure our kids are feeling their best, too. Feeling needed, loved, and worthy are essential for survival, but getting to that point isn't always easy. What can we do to start feeling genuine self-love, so we can model that kind of behavior for our children? Outside of reminding our kids that they're worthy, how can we help them start believing that to be true? In this episode, award-winning author and teen confidence expert, Jacqui Letran shares how to build real, unconditional self-love in ourselves and our children. Three Things You'll Learn in This Episode Why we're approaching mental health all wrong Far too often we treat the symptoms of anxiety and depression when we should mitigate them from the start. It's more beneficial to deal with the source, rather than the outcome. When positivity becomes damaging Telling ourselves we're amazing every day may sound like a good idea, but if we don't feel like we're amazing, it could be detrimental. Instead of focusing on the words we say to ourselves, we have to think about how we feel. How to start believing affirmations, one step at a time Ambitious affirmations can get overwhelming fast, so start small. Rather than saying we are brilliant, or even saying we 'feel' brilliant, it's a good idea to start with 'I am willing to be or feel brilliant'. Guest Bio- Jacqui Letran is an Award-Winning Author, Nurse Practitioner, and Teen Confidence Expert with over 20 years of experience guiding youth to optimal physical and mental health. The Stages of Clarity

A lot of Boss Moms think they're alone in struggling to get clarity in their businesses, but that couldn't be further from the truth! Grappling with clarity is something most entrepreneurs deal with. What is it that makes clarity so difficult to attain? Is there a way to get clarity, once and for all, or is that entirely unrealistic? If clarity is elusive for business owners across the board, what can we do to get closer to it, one step at a time? In this episode, I share how to rethink clarity in our businesses. 3 Things You'll Learn in This Episode Why clarity doesn't exist in a vacuum Many of us can relate to taking time to find clarity, only to have reality creep in and leave us feeling even more confused than before. That's because clarity needs to coexist with the real world. Why there's no single path to clarity Even the biggest billion-dollar corporation doesn't have constant clarity, and that's because as our audience evolves, we need to adapt. True clarity comes from a constant state of market research. How to stop letting rejection throw us off balance Many of our ideas will never come to life because they're just not feasible, but that's not something to get offended over. There's always a first draft for everything, and with every tweak to our original ideas, we get closer to bigger results.

In this episode, the Founder of Last Night's Game, Amy Buchan Siegfried shares why a little bit of information goes a long way. 3 Things You'll Learn in This Episode Why bite-sized bits of information make a bigger impactNo one wants to spend hours reading up on a sport just to make conversation. Short, sweet, to the point reads give us just what we need without going down a rabbit hole. How having a basic knowledge of sports helps us connect with othersEven if we aren't into sports ourselves, a lot of people are, and that means having a working knowledge of recent sporting events puts us at an advantage. Build a Million Dollar Business by Turning Old Ideas into New Visions w/Nicki Radzely

Building a brilliant business doesn't always mean we have to come up with an entirely new idea. Sometimes, all it takes is looking at existing concepts in a new way. Unfortunately, there are times when that can be easier said than done, but even that doesn't mean it's the end of the road for our creativity. All that means is we need to create the right partnerships- but how do we do that? How can we create the type of partnerships that help us see things in new, exciting ways? When will we know if we've found the 'right' business partner? In this episode, Co-Founder of Doddle & Co., Nicky Radzely shares how she and her business partner rethought pacifiers and built a million-dollar business. Three Things You'll Learn in This Episode Where to find inspiration for product designIt's often tempting to look at current trends for ideas, but that only limits us. Scour around, look at design techniques in entirely different industries, and think about what the consumer 3 years into the future wants. The importance of building a family of products that look related The best-known brands are the ones with a cohesive look and feel, so everything in our product lines should feature similar characteristics. We want our consumers to know it's our product without even seeing a brand name. How to develop new products out of old ideasNo product in the world can't be reworked or tweaked to meet the needs of today's consumers. Sometimes, all it takes is meeting someone whose vision is different from our own. Guest Bio- Nicki Radzely is the co-founder of Doddle & Co. Take Dog Training from Task to Treat w/Laura Gendron

As moms and business owners, balancing time and energy between our different kinds of babies can feel overwhelming on its own, but what happens for those of us who have fur babies too? Our pets are an important part of our lives, and having them around during stressful times like these is an absolute blessing. However, we also have to ensure we're giving them the attention and training they need, and when we already have a lot going on, that can feel like a chore. How can we stop looking at training from a purely logistical perspective and turn it into something fun? Is it possible to make training feel like we're playing with our pets? In this episode, Founder of Miss Behavior, Laura Gendron shares how to change the way we look at pet training. Three Things You'll Learn in This Episode How to keep training our pets when we have a lot going on: By the time we've finished everything we need to do in a day, training often feels like too much, but by incorporating that training into our existing routines, we can change that. Start with things like teaching a dog to down-stay every time we open the fridge or getting them to sit by themselves when we go into another room. How to proactively replace our dogs' bad behavior: To get our dogs to stop doing one thing, we have to replace that action with something else. Teach them a skill that becomes more rewarding for them than the initial behavior, like going into a down-stay instead of barking excessively. What to do when we're dealing with emotional dogs: Some dogs are more reactive and emotional than others, and that can become a challenge. However, we have to remember that we're not the only ones in the situation, and small replacements of bad behavior go a long way. Guest Bio- Laura Gendron is a mom of two and the owner and founder of Miss Behavior, serving as a behavior consultant, coach, and certified professional dog trainer for family dogs and their people. With degrees in both Animal Science and Psychology, she has found creative ways to bring both worlds together. After running her business through one-on-one training since 2008, Laura pivoted to the online space and found ways to scale her business through courses, challenges, and her monthly membership. The Guilt-Free Guide to Getting Out of Debt w/Allison Baggerly

Debt is something many of us have gone through, but most of us just don't want to talk about it, and that's because we're talking about it the wrong way. Opening up about our financial situations can be intimidating, but it's something we need to get comfortable doing if we want to move forward. The only thing is, so many of us are trapped in silence because we're afraid of being judged. How can we stop the cycle of shame for good and change the way we think about debt? Can we change the way we talk about money with our kids, so they don't need to go through the same mistakes we've made? In this episode, Founder of Inspired Budget, Allison Baggerly shares how to change our spending habits for the better. Three Things You'll Learn in This Episode Why we need to end the stigma around debt: So often, when people find themselves in debt, they end up keeping it to themselves because they feel ashamed, but that isn't productive, and it doesn't solve the problem. We have to remember that debt doesn't make us unlovable, and with the right plan, we can get out of it. How our emotions play a role in our debt: For many women, shopping gives us an outlet to our emotions, so we end up spending money for short-term joy. The problem is, these moments never last long, so we have to get better at sitting with our emotions, instead of splurging the moment they arise. Why high-earners need to change how they think about money: When we're bringing in a ton of money, it's easy to spend on unnecessary luxuries, but that doesn't mean we should. It's important to think about what we really want/ what deserves to be splurged on and stop diverting from that path. Guest Bio- Allison Baggerly is a blogger, influencer, and the founder of Inspired Budget. As a former teacher and small business owner, Allison combined her passion for teaching and finances to help others learn how to start budgeting. Everything You Need to Know About College Tuition Fees w/Ron Lieber

Choosing our children's college is the biggest financial decision our families will ever make, so we have to be as informed as possible going into it. The problem is, many of us simply don't know how much college costs, or how much we should be paying for it. How can we begin to advise our kids when we don't even know where to start ourselves? The only way we'll find out is by asking the right questions. So what should we be asking? In this episode, New York Times Columnist and author of The Price You Pay for College, Ron Lieber shares what we need to know about college tuition. Three Things You'll Learn in This Episode How to change the way we think about thrift: In recent years, the word 'thrift' has got some bad press, but there's nothing negative about it. Thrift is about spending money on the things we value most, while saving on everything else. How to prepare our kids for the biggest financial decision of their lives: We can't expect our children to make great financial choices if their biggest purchase to date is a bicycle, so teach them to understand how money works from a young age. Give them an allowance and let them learn through trial and error, so when the bigger decisions arise they'll have a better idea of what to do. How to calculate how much to spend on college: The key to working out how much college should cost lies in asking really good questions. Before making a final decision on any college, we have to do the research to unearth how much value our kids will get from the experience, and what they'll be able to do with their qualification, post-graduation. Guest Bio: Ron Lieber is the author of The Price You Pay for College: An Entirely New Road Map for the Biggest Financial Decision Your Family Will Ever Make, and the "Your Money" columnist for The New York Times. The copywriting space is booming, but with so many writers from a ton of different industries moving into it, it's more important than ever before to set ourselves apart. Creating a personality for our brand is a great way to do that, but how can we make sure it still feels authentic to who we are? Assuming a character helps keep us top of mind for our clients, but it's only effective when it fits in with our existing personalities. Is there a way to strike a balance between the two? What can we do to ensure our work is a true reflection of us, our personalities, and our quirks? In this episode, Co-Founder of The Copywriter Club and self-proclaimed Copy Chef, Kira Hug shares how to build a business by being unique. The great thing is, it's easier than ever before to get into those rooms because so many have moved online. What makes copywriting essential in any business: Without the right words to express our brands and what we stand for, no one will hear our voices. Great copywriting makes it easier to stand out in a sea of competitors. How to Stand Out and Get More Clients

When it comes to standing out in our markets, we tend to think of things like social media marketing as our first port of call. However, while being visible online is important, it's not the first step to cementing our place in the market, creating a framework is. Whether we refer to it as our framework, model, or system, being known for what we do and how we do it is the key to standing out in our ideal clients' eyes. The question is, how do we create a model worthy of being spoken about in the first place? What does a successful system look like? Is there a central blueprint we should all be working from? In this episode, you're invited to a Nurture to Convert training session on establishing effective business frameworks that clients will remember us by. Three Things You'll Learn in This Episode Why defining our system is non-negotiable in sales: Each product we sell takes our clients from point A to point B. As the suppliers, we have to be able to pinpoint exactly what each of those points looks like, and what it takes to get there. How to identify our process, step by step: Our plans shouldn't be too elaborate, in fact, they should be simple enough to sketch on the back of a napkin in a matter of seconds. From Venn Diagrams to pyramid charts, there are a ton of ways to do it, but the most important thing is to find what works for us. Why talking about our frameworks is more important than we think: We have to talk about our business model anywhere and everywhere, from social media to offline engagements. The only way we'll become famous for our processes is if people know we're the ones behind them.

Building a Better Mother-Daughter Relationship & Empowering the Next Generation of Women w/Dr. Michelle Deering

Having strong relationships with our children is something all mothers aspire to, but in the case of girl moms, it may be even more important than we realize. That's because when raising daughters, we have an opportunity to empower the future generation of women. As Boss Moms, many of us are motivated by the thought of using our businesses to uplift other women, but sometimes shifting our focus to creating a strong foundation for our own daughters can make an even bigger impact. That being said, girl moms often struggle to draw the line between creating 'mini-me's' and allowing our daughters to become the best versions of themselves. How do we find the balance between guiding them to great things and giving them the space to decide who they are? How do we become parents to daughters who thrive in their own right? Is it possible to do all that when we're dealing with baggage of our own? In this episode, host of the Mother Daughter Connections™ Podcast, Dr. Michelle Deering shares how to build stronger, more empowering relationships with our daughters. Three Things You'll Learn in This Episode The key to healthier communication with our children: Understanding is vital for real conversations with our kids. When disagreements arise, we have to be mindful of where they're at and what they're going through, and then tailor our responses to that. Why moving forward requires reflection: We can't fix anything without facing it first. By taking a deep look into what's going on in our own lives, we'll be able to better understand why certain words, actions, and behaviors trigger us How to unearth our personal issues when we aren't aware of them: Self-reflection is often easier said than done, and more so when we aren't aware of what's holding us back. Sometimes it's helpful to have someone else point those things out to us, whether that person be a friend, family member, or a therapist. Guest Bio- Dr. Michelle Deering believes that every mother and daughter should have a thriving and loving relationship. This refreshing approach has made her a sought-after speaker, online educator, and consultant. Before running her consulting business, Michelle served as a licensed clinical and sport psychologist at a BIG 10 University, Fortune 500 corporate trainer, and higher education professional. The Key to Finding Joy in Every Moment w/Pauline Victoria

Running a business while being a mom isn't always easy, and the events of last year only added to the challenges. However, there is something to be grateful for every day, and sometimes we just need a shift in perspective to see it. Finding the ray of sunshine in any situation isn't always easy, but it's possible if we're willing to look past the obstacles we're faced with. How can we find joy each day, no matter what life throws our way? What can we do to remind ourselves that we are enough as we are, and channel that energy into everything we do? In this episode, host of The Small Victories Podcast and founder of One Leg Up Productions, Pauline Victoria shares how she finds happiness each day as a woman born without limbs. 3 Things You'll Learn in This Episode How to stop letting hard times get us down: Most entrepreneurs can relate to super high highs and devastating low lows. While no one wants to hit a low point, it's important to remember that the most growth comes from the hard times. Why we need to stop trying to do it all on our own: Over the past couple of years, it's become a badge of honor to say we do everything on our own… but the truth is no one enjoys doing everything, and no one is good at juggling it all. Have the right people on hand and know when to ask for help. How to overcome rejection: The two things that keep us from going after our dreams are judgment and feelings of unworthiness. Combat the first by remembering that people's reactions to our products, businesses, and even ourselves are a reflection of them, not us. Guest Bio- Pauline Victoria is a Thought Leader offering transformational perspectives based on her experiences as a woman born without limbs. Learning Through Listening: How to Create Better Course Outcomes With Private Podcasting w/Carla White

We all want to have great businesses that make money, solve problems, and help people to get results. As e-learning continues to boom, it's become more critical to have tools that allow people to learn on their mobile devices. More and more people want to learn on-the-go and in podcast format. The more spaces we can create that make education easy, the more we can cut through the challenges of getting people to use and implement our content. My guest today is a Boss Mom who built an audio platform that allows course creators to turn their content into private podcasts. How does the platform work, and how can it help people get better results from our courses? In this episode, entrepreneur and founder of Hiro.fm, Carla White shares the power of learning through listening, and why the future of e-learning is on our phones. 3 Things You'll Learn in This Episode Why e-learning still has so much opportunity and room to grow: E-learning is a multi-billion dollar industry, but it hasn't really changed much since its inception. Much of e-learning is still tethered to computers, which makes it hard for us to learn on-the-go. Hiro.fm allows course creators to upload their content in podcast form, allowing people to listen and learn on-the-move. How to meet the demand of today's e-learning students: People want relevant, on-demand content that solves specific problems. They want targeted educational information that is dispensed through a channel that makes internalizing and implementing it easier. How to publish content that matches how we learn: There are 3 levels of education, listening, learning, and implementation. When e-learning is tethered to a computer, a lot of people are only able to listen, they don't have the time or the space to implement it. The people who find the most success in our programs are the ones who can actively listen to things over and over. If we can allow people to learn on-the-go, while they're making dinner, driving their kids around, or working out, we can give them more space to internalize and implement. Guest Bio: Carla is an entrepreneur and creator of the apps Gratitude and Hiro.fm. After getting an MBA, working at the Pentagon, and learning how to speak multiple languages, Carla White found herself living out of her car and eating leftovers off of people's plates. She went from having $47 in her pocket to flying first class around the world through "power rituals". Carla became the first woman to launch an iPhone app and now Hiro.fm. She has helped countless people transform their lives via her apps, public speaking, newsletters, seminars, and books. Her #1 bestseller app, Gratitude, has been downloaded by thousands, featured on Oprah, NBC, NYTimes, and countless other publications, and continues to grow in popularity around the globe. Due to popular demand, she launched the podcast Radical Shift, aligning neuroscience with ancient wisdom in a way that has never been done before. Two Actions That Will Help You Get What You Want in 2021

Last week I talked about the 3 areas we need to think about as we visualize what we want in the future. Those emotional, environmental, and financial goals form a baseline and a scaffolding for what we have to prioritize. In order to commit to the activities that get us what we want, we have to get clear on the opportunities we should seize and what we need to let go of. If we try to leverage too many things, we risk diluting our effectiveness. In this episode, I share the two things that will help you commit to and stick with what you want to accomplish. 3 Things You'll Learn in This Episode Every single day presents opportunities. A New Year isn't what triggers renewal or a commitment to our goals. It's a mental choice we have to make, and we can make it at any time of the year. Saying no to things is a learned skill, it takes practice and courage to get comfortable with it. Practice saying no out loud to overcome the fear and discomfort you might have around saying it to other people. No matter how strong your commitment to a goal is, distractions, setbacks, and unpredictable moments are inevitable. Accept that you'll need mental, emotional, and personal space, and plan for it.

One Way to Get Motivated Before the New Year

The holidays are a time to celebrate family, love, connection, and giving. They are also the time we start thinking about what we want in the new year. As we reflect on our lives, our businesses, and what we want to accomplish, how do we do so with hope and motivation? How can we overcome fear and uncertainty and plan for the future with excitement? In this episode, I share how we can get motivated through a 3-step visualization process, and why it's so valuable. 3 Things You'll Learn in This Episode When we visualize where we want to be this time next year, it gives us motivation and inspiration. We're able to turn the things we want to achieve into beacons of hope, rather than things to worry about. Focusing on both the financial state we want and creating an environment that serves us will help us gain clarity on the changes we need to make. When we think of what we want to accomplish in the future, that's when fear, uncertainty, and overwhelm will inevitably creep in. Remember that getting what we want is something we control with the action we take every single day.

How to Beat Burnout & Build the Skill of Healthy Rest w/Deanna Mason

Most Boss Moms can relate to feeling like we're doing too much, and that's because while we're giving our all to our businesses, we're not paying enough attention to our own wellbeing. As a result, we're running on empty tanks, and that's completely unsustainable. Prioritizing our businesses may reap amazing financial rewards, but success is about more than making money. If we're feeling depleted constantly, we need to change how we approach rest and relaxation. What can we do to fill our own cups and start each day feeling refreshed, rather than burnt out? How do we start working from a place of rest while still running a booming business? In this episode, founder of Refreshed Moms, Deanna Mason shares how we can rest our way to success. 3 Things You'll Learn in This Episode The importance of taking the right approach to rest: It's not always easy forecasting the cost of making our dreams a reality, and that's why so many of us run out of steam. We have to learn how to rhythm in and out of healthy rest approaches that don't require us to step out of our businesses to feel refreshed. Why relaxation is vital for a thriving business: Learning how to run a successful business is great, but without the energy to implement the strategies, we'll never sustain it. We have to learn how to work from a place of rest, rather than needing to rest from our work. How taking time for self-care impacts every area of our lives: When we make room to pour into ourselves, it's easier to pour into our businesses and families. It all starts with filling our own cups first. Guest Bio- Deanna Mason founded Refreshed Moms in 2018, right after spending 3 years on a business "hiatus." That's because, after running a non-profit and magazine publishing company for 8 years, she had totally burned out. She had spent years running her business her way, striving for her definition of success and doing way too much. She knew that in order for things to be different this time around, she had to do things differently. Deanna is a firm believer that running a business is not just about sales and income. If you allow yourself, you can learn all of the marketing skills needed to get your magic to the people God has called you to. But, you also have to make sure you're taking care of other vital priorities, such as your faith, self-care, emotional wellness, and being present for the people you love. Without this, no matter how much money you make, it won't be sustainable. And there is no way she could do any of this well without her consistent connection with God. Now, as she journeys with God in her work, she allows Him to guide her tasks, projects, and creativity, which helps her eliminate the noise, remove the mental clutter, and focus on the things that matter the most. In doing so, He has faithfully kept her profitable and growing, and she relies completely on Him as He helps her support her community in doing the same thing. A Beginner's Guide to Judgment-Free Baby Sleep Support w/Jessica Miller

Most new moms have been at the receiving end of sleep 'training' advice at some point. While it's easy to feel guilted into taking advice from others, when it comes to our babies' wellbeing, we have to give ourselves permission to listen to our own intuition. The only thing is, many of us don't know what our options are. Aside from the more traditional sleep techniques, what are our alternatives? What is the psychology behind how our babies sleep and how can we use it to find the best solution for their needs? In this episode, founder of The Postnatal Afterglow Centre, Jessica Miller shares how to stop giving into judgment from other parents and find the best sleep solutions for our little ones. As a parent, you should never feel forced or shamed into walking down a path that doesn't work for you. -Jessica Miller 3 Things You'll Learn in This Episode How to remove the pressure of sleep 'training': Just like digestion, sleep is a physiological skill and we'll never 'teach' our babies to do it. All we can do is give them what they need to sleep, and it will happen. Why it's so important to learn about other parenting methods: Whether we're dealing with potty training or sleep support, none of us should ever feel like we're being pushed down a path that doesn't work for us. Traditional sleep 'training' methods might work for some parents, but not for others, so it's important to find the best solutions for ourselves and our babies. The key to helping your baby fall asleep: For the first year of a baby's life, their primary need is to be in the sensation of their primary giver. Hearing our voices, feeling our touch, and even smelling us all contribute to helping our babies feel safe enough to fall asleep. Guest Bio- Jessica Miller is the founder of The Postnatal Afterglow Centre. Driven to start the venture after her own experience with exhaustion as a new mom, Jessica has learned first hand that much of the advice we're given as parents is not only outdated, but undermines the relationships we have with our children. Today, she is a firm believer that every parent should have the opportunity to choose something that works for them, and uses her platform to provide specialized infant care and support for parents wanting to try connection-based cry, fuss, and sleep solutions. The Simple Business System That Can Make You a Millionaire With One Product w/Haley Burkhead

As Boss Moms, our lives are complex and unpredictable, and the last thing we need is a business built on live launches. The endless cycle of opt-in content, launch PTSD, and complicated marketing strategies only creates chaos, and it doesn't work for us or our families. If we want our businesses to align with our lives, we have to run simple, evergreen marketing systems. I'm passionate about running simple businesses and I'm excited because my guest, Haley Burkhead shares the same passion. She is a sales psychology specialist and the creator of the Recurring Profit system. She has scaled her earnings to $1 million with one course, and now she's helping other women launch simple, evergreen recurring profit businesses. Since we've shut down The Boss Mom Academy, I'm recommending Haley's course because I love what she's doing. What are the key parts of Haley's system for scaling to $1 million with a single course or membership site? How can we attach real numbers to our business dreams so they feel more attainable? Why does evergreen benefit both us and the people who buy our products? In this episode, Haley Burkhead shares how she helps entrepreneurs build simple, profitable businesses, and the things we need to put in place to make it happen. Things You'll Learn in This Episode Why live launches create stressful, draining businesses: Boss Moms can't run businesses based on live launches. It conflicts with the complexities of our lives and the unpredictability of family schedules. What we need is a simple business supported by an evergreen strategy, which allows us to grow by marketing and honing one product, instead of constantly launching new products. Why evergreen nurtures people the right way: Live launches require people to make a buying decision on our timeline, evergreen allows them to buy on their own time. By nurturing them, we allow them to feel comfortable and build trust so they can buy when they are ready. It sets our students up to get our intended results and reduces the likelihood of buyer's remorse. How to turn our dreams into real, attainable goals: When we come up with a goal of how much money we want to earn from our programs, it can feel really overwhelming and unattainable. However, if we attach real numbers to the dream, we can figure out how many leads we need to generate according to our conversion rate to make the money we want. When we break it down, it feels more attainable and possible. The power of an "Easy Yes" Webinar: An effective webinar is not about selling or scaring them into buying. It's about taking someone who is the perfect person for your program and nurturing them so they make a decision for themselves. A good webinar doesn't try to convince, it leads and empowers. Guest Bio- Haley Burkhead is the creator of Recurring Profit and the host of the Hey Haley Podcast. She specializes in using sales psychology to help entrepreneurs scale to their first 1 million dollars with a course or membership site. After watching others deal with live launch exhaustion and the endless opt-in and content cycle with no real revenue return, she created a different strategy that didn't rely on Facebook ads, a big warm audience, or live launching to attract leads. Her approach now helps thousands of entrepreneurs normalize and achieve big numbers for their business! Recurring Profit is Haley's signature program that's designed to help entrepreneurs create 10k evergreen months with a course or membership. How to Boost Your Energy & Create Healthy Habits On Your Own Terms w/Jennifer Nagel

Getting healthy is about more than losing weight, it's also about gaining energy. When we lead healthy lifestyles, it's easier to wake up energized and excited about running our businesses. Most of us see exercise and eating well as something we need to do, but we never seem to get around to it. We all know we need to drink water, eat our vegetables, and get our bodies moving, but for some reason turning those things into habits is easier said than done. As Boss Moms, we're driven to succeed in other areas of our lives, so what's stopping us from committing to our health? How can we change the way we motivate ourselves to stay on a healthier path for good? In this episode, Owner of Figured Out Fitness LLC, Jennifer Nagel shares that by developing solutions that fit in with our everyday lives, we'll be more likely to commit to our health in the long term. If you want to stay committed, your health and fitness "why" has to be 100% about YOU and no one else. - Jennifer Nagel Things You'll Learn in This Episode How a shift in mindset creates a sustainable health journey: Our health is a long-term asset we need to live our best lives. We have to stop thinking in terms of eating well or exercising for the sake of it. Start looking at it as a way to get the strength and energy we need to do the things we love. Why we need to start small with health: As business owners, we know that small habits accumulate to big results over time. However, when it comes to our health, we tend to take an all-or-nothing approach. If we really want our habits to stick, we have to start with small, manageable, and reasonable actions that can be incorporated into our daily lives. The importance of realizing there's more than one way to be healthy: Not everyone will want to sign up for 6 CrossFit sessions in a row or stick to eating a diet of only Kale, and that's okay. To set ourselves up for sustainable results, we have to commit to small changes that fit in with our lifestyles. How to stop letting guilt hold us back from our fitness: A lot of Boss Moms want to embrace healthier lifestyles to feel connected to their old selves, but that can feel indulgent when we're already juggling kids and careers. We have to remember that committing to our health isn't selfish, it's self-love, and that sets a great example for our children. Guest Bio- Jennifer Nagel is the owner of Figured Out Fitness LLC, and a coach and certified trainer for women over 30 who want simple fitness solutions. How to Create Freedom & Luxury Through Intentional Minimalism w/Meg Nordmann

Our world is moving away from an emphasis on accumulating possessions as a measure of success, and towards the understanding that time is the true luxury. Having more time gives us the power to pursue the things that matter most, and an excess of stuff robs us of that luxury. Minimalism is one of the most impactful ways to get more out of our time, especially as we head into the holiday season. This is the time people struggle the most with stress as marketing messages pressure us to buy and accumulate more stuff. The stress of excess possessions affects our kids too. By simplifying and paring down, we make their lives better and teach them to value what truly matters. How can we apply minimalist principles to our lives, homes, and gift receiving? How do we set the stage for our kids to see time, not possessions, as the true gift? In this episode, I'm joined by the author of Have Yourself a Minimalist Christmas, Meg Nordmann. We discuss how to navigate the emotional side of decluttering and why intentional minimalism benefits our children and gives us the space and time to focus on what we love. The word to focus on isn't minimalism, it's intentionality. It's about trying to be more intentional about our stuff by simplifying, curating, and editing things down to what truly matters. -Meg Nordmann Things You'll Learn in This Episode How clutter affects our children: An excess of stuff in our places causes stress and higher cortisol levels. Our children also get just as overwhelmed, if not more when their rooms and our homes are cluttered. They aren't built to manage the cortisol levels that come with clutter. The true meaning of minimalism: Minimalism doesn't mean getting rid of things we love. It's all about being more intentional about what we own and buy. By paring down to what's essential and what we truly love, we experience the luxury of having more time to pursue what matters. How minimalism can improve our holiday season experience: The tradition around Christmas has been built around the anticipation of gifts and getting more stuff. Through minimalism and intentionality, we can teach our children to focus more on making memories as a family, rather than what we're going to get. How to talk about minimalism with our friends and family: Don't use the word minimalism or decluttering because it might trip them up, scare, or confuse them. Lead them to understand that having more stuff means overwhelm, stress, and a lack of time. Once they understand this, we can steer them towards experience gifts and consumable gifts instead of things that create clutter. Guest Bio- Meg Nordmann is the author of Have Yourself a Minimalist Christmas, a new book that was published on September 1st this year in print, ebook, and audiobook formats and is intended to be read in the fall months in preparation for Christmas. Meg is also the mother of two messy little girls who were the catalyst for her becoming a minimalist, along with her goal to achieve financial independence in order to retire early. A former newspaper and magazine journalist and editor, Meg is now a full-time mother who writes, blogs, and speaks about minimalism and creating the luxury of time to pursue the things that matter the most to her. She recently launched a podcast on this topic called Journey to Freedom that explores how minimalism and frugality can lead to financial freedom and time freedom. She's excited to share her tips on how to have a simpler, less expensive, and more intentional holiday this season. Visit http://megnordmann.com/book/ to learn more about Meg and her book.

Don't Multiply, Amplify: How to Streamline & Simplify Our Way to a Scalable Business w/Brittany May

Entrepreneurs are bombarded with the persistent push to be everywhere and do all the things. This often comes from the mindset that creating more and multiplying what we sell will bring us better results This way of thinking only causes unnecessary complexity and confusion. Doing more doesn't increase our chances of success, it actually diminishes our impact. Running a simple, streamlined business is the key to a chaos-free, scalable system that allows us to do what we're passionate about more efficiently. The key is dropping what's not working and amplifying what is through evergreen content, automation, and honing in on the essentials. How do we shift our mindset so we can let go of what's not working? Why is evergreen content the key to simple stress-free scaling? In this episode, digital strategist and business coach, Brittany May shares how she helps women accomplish more in their businesses by doing less and amplifying the right things. Things You'll Learn In This Episode The power of evergreen: Evergreen content and products allow us to leverage something we put our heart, knowledge, skills, and soul into once, and get it to do the work for us over and over again. Leveraging evergreen beats starting from scratch every single time, and it gives us the time to really hone in on what's working. How to determine what we need to eliminate: Our feelings about what's truly working in our businesses might lie to us, but the numbers never lie. By paying attention to our metrics, it quickly becomes clear what's getting results, what needs improvement, and what we need to eliminate to amplify our impact. Why consistency without insight creates frustration: The key to a simple and streamlined business is not consistency for consistency's sake. We're told to be consistent to build a successful and profitable business, but there's a caveat. If we're consistent in the wrong thing, we waste our precious time and effort. What makes the biggest impact is being consistent in the things that actually work and serve our businesses. Guest Bio- Brittany is a digital strategist and business coach for women entrepreneurs focused on helping them create smarter systems to scale simply. Feminine Energy in Entrepreneurship w/Jocelyn J. Kopac

The world of entrepreneurship is dominated by masculine energy. For female entrepreneurs, learning about business from the perspective of masculine energy can cause burnout, self-sabotage, and not running our businesses on our own terms. Masculine and feminine energy clash because they are distinctly different. Facing this clash internally often leads to us feeling disconnected and misaligned with our own businesses. It can also make us struggle to find a pricing model that is true to what we care about. How can we run better businesses and lead happier teams by leading with feminine energy? What are some of the key parts of feminine energy we can bring into our businesses? How can we set boundaries from a feminine energy perspective? In this episode, I'm joined by entrepreneur, DEI educator, and CEO of The Digital Market.co, Jocelyn J. Kopac. She shares how to improve our businesses by changing the energy we lead them with, and how that helps us create a more aligned financial model. Things You'll Learn in This Episode How pricing structures affect how we feel about our businesses: If we don't believe in the pricing structure and the financial model we're using to scale our businesses, we may end up sabotaging ourselves and our businesses. Instead of pricing according to everyone else's model, we have to find the model that's in alignment with our values. How to establish a pricing structure that aligns with our energy: Our pricing shouldn't be about charging for our time, it's about charging our worth. No one can ever pay us enough for our time because it's too valuable. Charge according to your values, boundaries, and how much time you can spend on a task. Charging by account, rather than by the hour, also gives us the time and space to nurture our projects without feeling overwhelmed. What stops women entrepreneurs from setting more boundaries: Feminine energy prioritizes helping others, and as a result, many women end up feeling guilty for setting boundaries. Boundaries can also feel harsh if we're viewing them from a masculine energy perspective. It is possible to create boundaries that don't exclude, eliminate, or reject people. How to identify the activities we should be outsourcing: It's easy to slip into the habit of overworking ourselves when our energy is driven towards helping others. To avoid taking on too many tasks, keep a record of every activity done in a day and rank them in terms of enjoyment. After 2 weeks, we'll have a good idea of what we should be delegating to others. Guest Bio- Jocelyn J. Kopac is the CEO and Strategist at The Digital Market.co. A serial entrepreneur, Jocelyn started her first business at the age of 7. Knowing from a young age that running and growing businesses would be a huge part of her future, today she is also a business coach who helps leaders become confident in their growth plans, make sales, and build an audience through unfettered honesty, positivity, and doable strategies. Her ingenuity and positive attitude represent true leadership, but she attributes a lot of her success to the power of abundance, paying it forward, and a great cup of coffee. How Abbey Ashley Went from Virtual Assistant to 7-Figure Entrepreneur

Virtual assistants are in high demand because they provide an important service to busy entrepreneurs. Working as a virtual assistant is also a gateway to your own entrepreneurial journey. It prepares us for launching our own products and building businesses that fulfill us and give us freedom. Some of the most successful online entrepreneurs started out as virtual assistants and worked their way up to become CEOs in their own right. Offering our services online allows us to uncover what we're good at, what we love, and where we can offer the most value. This allows for us to build something that will make an impact. How do we get into the world of virtual assistance? What kind of services can we offer? In this episode, I'm joined by Abbey Ashley, founder of The Virtual Savvy. She shares how she went from VA to CEO, and how she found success by focusing on one product. The best way for me to make money is to improve on the things I already have, instead of creating new things. -Abbey Ashley 3 Things You'll Learn in This Episode There is a huge market for VAs: As businesses grow, it stops making financial sense for the owner to spend their time on tasks that don't make more money or move the business forward. More and more entrepreneurs are realizing they need help, and the virtual assistant niche is thriving as a result. How to go from generalist VA to niched down entrepreneur: Being a VA is an entry point to offering services online. It gives us the launching pad to figure out the problem we can solve, which becomes the service we offer. Starting out as a generalist allows us to attract clients, build our confidence, and then we'll start seeing what we're good at. Gradually that will lead to the development of a valuable service. How building upon one product/service gives us time freedom: It takes longer to get traction on a new product and marketing avenue than it does to pour our time and effort into perfecting a product that already exists. By pouring fuel on a product and service we already have, we can prioritize better, maximize our time freedom, and build something that has long-term value. Guest Bio- Abbey Ashley is the Founder of The Virtual Savvy. She helps aspiring virtual assistants launch and grow their own at-home business from scratch. Abbey started her own virtual assistant business as a new mom and was able to double the salary from her full-time corporate job, working only 20 hours a week... in just 30 days! She's since gone on to grow a seven-figure business and retire her husband ALL from her at-home business. It's now her passion to help others start their own VA business so they can taste the freedom and flexibility of entrepreneurship as well. Fighting Poverty with Entrepreneurship: How Jen Lewis is Connecting Artisans & Consumers in All New Ways

Many of us would love to make a bigger impact on more people, but we aren't sure how. The great news is that our habits and choices as consumers are some of the biggest ways we can be impactful today. There are emerging businesses that are becoming the supplier and marketer for amazing products made by talented people in third world countries. How can we adapt our consumer behavior to make a bigger impact? As entrepreneurs, what can we do to bring about meaningful change in people's lives? And how can we reward good work? In this episode, Founder and Executive Director of Purse & Clutch, Jen Lewis shares how she is making a difference in the world one purse at a time. We are connected to the people that make our stuff, even if we don't know it. Shouldn't we have a story attached to our belongings? - Jen Lewis 3 Things You'll Learn in This Episode The importance of taking baby steps: We might not have the resources to impact 100 people today, and that's okay. Focus on helping one person at a time and ultimately, all our efforts will add up. How to create positive change as a consumer: We're all connected to the people who make the products we buy. When we support "slow" businesses that prioritize expertise and quality over mass-produced items, we're contributing towards someone's sense of purpose. Why we should focus on celebrating good work:For entrepreneurs thinking of partnering with local artisans, it's important to remember we're not doing so for charity. Instead, we're doing it to support skilled craftsmanship and amazing work. Guest Bio- Jen Lewis is the Founder and Executive Director of Purse & Clutch, a slow fashion brand working to create sustainable jobs for men and women in developing countries - starting from the raw materials and ending with the consumer carrying the most beautiful bag in the room. Jen holds a degree in Chemistry and a Master's degree in Leadership & Ethics, and in her spare time she enjoys vegetable gardening from seeds with her 2 ½ year old daughter, despite mixed results. Overcoming a Scarcity Mindset Around Money Is Self-Care w/Chelsea Brennan

In over ⅔ of US families, women manage the household budget. While we're good at the budgeting aspect and making sure everything is good month-to-month, we struggle with long-term planning, thriving, and creating financial freedom. Money is tied into absolutely everything we do, and when we have kids, this is amplified. We have to provide for them, but we also have to teach them to nurture a healthy view of money. This starts with us and what we believe and put into action financially. It's impossible to teach a healthy financial mindset and be effective at our financial planning if we have underlying limiting beliefs and a scarcity mentality around money. If we can get control of our money mindset and align our money with our values, we'll be able to afford the things we want in our lives and plan for the future. How do we overcome the financial hang-ups, fears, and mindsets that hold us back? What are the things moms need to know about money and how we talk about it with our children? In this episode, I'm joined by the founder of Smart Money Mamas and the online summit, Mamas Talk Money, Chelsea Brennan. We discuss the upcoming 2020 summit, and how we can cultivate a thriving money mindset. When our kids grow up hearing "we can't afford that", it creates a scarcity mindset. -Chelsea Brennan 3 Things You'll Learn in This Episode How to create an empowering, thriving money mindset: Many of us feel a sense of helplessness around money, and that we aren't in control of it. Even if we aren't financially stable yet, it's important to remember that we have autonomy in our choices with money. If we feel like our financial circumstances just happen to us, we'll never be able to empower ourselves or our children. Why money is a form of self-care: On a societal level, women have been conditioned to not value things that benefit us because we're often so focused on taking care of everyone else. The side effect of this is a deeply ingrained scarcity mindset around money. By overcoming it, we can get rid of our mental and emotional blocks around money and allow it to be a positive in our life, not a negative. The impact of a negative money mindset: Our budgets won't work if we're still viewing and relating to money through the lens of scarcity and struggle. No money strategy can overpower an underlying limiting belief. If we want to improve our money situations and teach our children the right lessons about it, all our strategies have to start with how we think and feel about money. Guest Bio- Chelsea is the founder of Smart Money Mamas and the annual online summit, Mamas Talk Money. An ex-hedge fund manager turned financial educator, Chelsea helps moms connect with all aspects of their money in a way that lets them overcome emotional blocks, identify what they most want, and create the healthy money habits that will help them achieve their goals while modeling positive money relationships for the next generation. How I built Boss Mom and the lessons I learned along the way

Building Boss Mom over the last 6 years has been an adventure, to say the least. I created a video a little while back that shared how I built Boss Mom and the lessons I learned along the way in hopes that it helps you see that anything is possible and to help you reach your goals faster than I did. I walk you through the different decisions and phases of building the community and business and what worked and what didn't. I want you to come away from this episode feeling empowered to build a life and business that aligns with you and your dreams. Successful entrepreneurs don't worry about the 80% that doesn't work, they leverage and scale the 20% that does work. -Dana Malstaff Things You'll Learn in This Episode: When you give people permission to be who they are and create a feeling of belonging for them, you build trust. The only difference between you and the people who seem to have it figured out is that they keep going and never give up, even when things don't go according to plan. You have what it takes to create a business that you care about, a well- run space where you can nurture people and create a community and sense of belonging. When we create a system and everyone who comes into our world takes the same journey, that creates consistency. Once we have consistency, we can scale, track results, and see what's working.

A Conversation with My Life Coach: Stephanie Nichols

The past few months have forced us to deal with major instability, and it has thrown many of us into a flat spin. However, it's important to understand that even when we're not facing a pandemic, uncertainty is inevitable. Any time we go through a life-changing event, be it a pandemic, a relocation, or even a divorce, we're faced with a lot of external factors. As a result, many of us end up feeling powerless. Is there a way to change that? When we change the way we think, we can change the way we feel. We may not be able to control events unfolding around us, but we can decide how we'll deal with them. How can we stop reacting to issues beyond our control and start responding to them instead? In this episode, Certified Life Coach and author of Create Your Calm: A Guilt-Free Journey to Peaceful Motherhood, Stephanie Nichols shares how to use life-altering moments as a catalyst for growth. We can't change what's happening around us, but we can make decisions about how we think about it. That's where we get our control back. -Stephanie Nichols 3 Things You'll Learn in This Episode: How to get better at managing emotions in a difficult situation: It's easier to manage the way we feel when we know how we feel. We have to check in with ourselves more regularly and acknowledge our emotions. The importance of acceptance: When we resist accepting what's going on around us, we end up allowing it to affect us even more. The sooner we accept reality for what it is, the sooner we can move on. How to turn life-changing events into a win: When faced with uncertainty, we need to think about what we want to create for ourselves. We may not always have the power to control what's happening around us, but we do have the power to use the situation to our benefit. Guest Bio- Stephanie Nichols is a divorced mom of two young boys, author of the book Create Your Calm: A Guilt-Free Journey to Peaceful Motherhood, and Certified Life Coach for Divorced Moms. How Our Families & Businesses Can Thrive With Homeschooling w/DeLise Bernard

When the whole world was put into quarantine, parents were thrust into homeschooling literally overnight. Taking on the job of educating our kids full-time can seem nearly impossible at first, especially alongside running a business. However, these last few months have shown that it's very doable, and something the whole family might prefer. Our assumptions and suppositions about homeschooling have been shattered as we've discovered various benefits and advantages of it, so much so that many parents have considered switching to homeschooling completely. What are some of the positives of homeschooling that our kids miss out on in conventional schools? How do we balance being a teacher, parent, and business owner without burning out? In this episode, I'm joined by entrepreneur, homeschooling expert, education consultant, and the founder of Surviving Homeschool, DeLise Bernard. We talk about why so many families are seeing the benefits of education-from-home. 3 Things You'll Learn in This Episode How homeschooling expands the opportunity for learning: The school curriculum can be limiting for kids, especially those that are gifted in unique ways. Through homeschooling, we get to build on what our kids are good at or interested in and lean into that outside the confines of class schedules. How kids can still have social interaction while homeschooling: Homeschooling our kids isn't as disconnected and isolated as people think. There are opportunities for them to connect with other kids through learning pods and groups, and to get taught by people who are experts in their own respective fields. Our kids can still have a strong social aspect to their lives without going to school. Why homeschooling can actually be better for entrepreneurial parents: For many boss moms, our concern around homeschooling is the worry about not having enough time to balance parenting, our businesses, educating our kids, and taking care of things at home. With the right resources, tools, and scheduling techniques, it's doable and it can actually work better for our families. Guest Bio- DeLise Bernard is an entrepreneur, homeschooling expert, education consultant, and the founder of Surviving Homeschool. While she and her husband have co-led their health management company, Beyond Excellence, for over 15 years, she's also the founder of Surviving Homeschool, a community that supports working families thrust into schooling from home. Providing practical "survival tips", cataloged educational resources, and ongoing encouragement to over 6800 members, the team offers community and connection in a time of social distancing. Her advice has been featured on ABC, CBS, The New York Times, The Chicago Tribune, and The Washington Post, as well as various podcasts, education websites, and popular parenting blogs. Her family's homeschool was also recently showcased in a George Washington University student-produced documentary for the school's Masters program. How to Keep Our Children Entertained & Expand Their Creativity At Home w/Stephanie Anderson

Keeping kids entertained has never been easy, and COVID-19 has only added fuel to the fire. How can we keep our children busy while we're working from home, without adding even more to our plates? While increasing screen time may sound like an easy fix, that comes with its own challenges. We want our children to be learning valuable skills, and for that, we can't rely on screens alone. Is that even possible when we're already juggling homeschooling and our businesses? Luckily, we don't have to do it all on our own. With the help of subscription boxes, we can simplify almost every area of our lives, including keeping our kids entertained and their minds nourished. In this episode, Founder and CEO of Peaceful Play, Stephanie Anderson explains how to keep children engaged with educational activities while we work from home. When kids are bored, we often end up giving them screen time to entertain them, but if we want to teach our children problem-solving skills, they need to be creating. -Stephanie Anderson 3 Things We Learned From This Episode Why we need to create creators: The world we live in thrives on consumerism, but our kids shouldn't only be consuming. We need to encourage them to create through educational activities. How to keep kids engaged for longer: Children lose interest easily, so we can't just offer them a box of activities hoping they stay engaged. Link the activities to a story so they're fully involved in every creative task. What children learn from interactive activities: When our little ones do hands-on activities, they're pushed to think outside the box. These problem-solving skills are helpful well into adulthood, so by encouraging them to be creative from a young age, we're setting them up for a lifetime of success. Guest Bio- Stephanie Anderson shows moms who work from home creative ways to keep their kids playing so that they can make time to work from home. As an entrepreneur's wife and mom of three, Stephanie is obsessed with raising creators, not just consumers. She is the founder of Peaceful Play, a community and resource full of tools to help parents who want to raise entrepreneurial-minded children, and Peaceful Play Box, a subscription box of creative, independent activities for children ages 3 - 7. To connect with Stephanie, head to: https://www.instagram.com/getpeacefulplay/ https://www.facebook.com/GetPeacefulPlay/ https://www.youtube.com/c/peacefulplay?sub_confirmation=1 And to order the Peaceful Play Box seasonal subscription box of independent play activities for kids ages 3-7, head to: https://www.PeacefulPlayBox.com/
