The Time Machine (1960)
Based on the 1895 H. G. Wells book by the same name, this movie was made in 1960 and while that means some potentially cringey special effects, the story line overpowers any of that. Stephen knows it and loves it, but Trev's never seen it - and being so old - what will he think? Starring Aussie Rod Taylor, it's directed by George Pal and is set in 1899 and beyond. Better than Back to the Future? Not even worth a discussion.
Wall Street
An insiders look at Wall Street focussing on the aspirations of a young Bud Fox played by Charlie Sheen. His desire to land the "Elephant" could make or break him. Michael Douglas stars in a cracking cast including Daryl Hannah and Martin Sheen, and it's all directed and co-written by Oliver Stone. We fire up the Fetch box on our Hisense TV and re-watch or for some watch for the first time this cracker 1987 Drama.
Identity
We're confident this is a new one for most people. Stephen has watched Identity before, and loves it, so takes this chance to introduce Trevor to it for the very first time. This 1972 classic is a disaster film and you know it from the get-go. The cast alone is staggering. Gene Hackman, Ernest Borgnine, Jack Albertson, Shelly Winters and Red Buttons - all Oscar winners. We find out what's going to happen at the start but the ups and downs of the story and the character building is what makes this movie. It was a special one for Stephen - Trev's never seen it. Point Break (1991)
Patrick Swayze, Keanu Reeves, Lori Petty and Gary Busey star in this movie that includes surfing, but isn't about surfing. Or is it? A fresh blooded FBI agent moves to the city with more armed robberies than anywhere else and jumps straight into character trying to track them down. Trev watches with fresh eyes and works it out early, while Stephen unpacks what you might not know. And really, if this isn't a Surfing Movie, how is Die Hard a Christmas Movie?
I Am Legend
All to understandable in a post-Covid world, Will Smith stars as the single most important person in New York - or perhaps the only Person in New York after some sort of disaster. We learn it's a viral outbreak, and New York is cut off from the world. Stephen saw it in 2007 when it came out, while Trev had never heard of it, so turn on that Hisense TV and fire up the Fetch to watch I Am Legend
Office Space
We've all had a bad commute, a bad morning even a bad day, but what if work is getting you down so much that every day in your life is worse than the day before? What would happen if you took a relaxed approach to everything and just didn't care? Robert De Niro and Cuba Gooding Jnr star in a film about the first coloured Navy Diver in the US. E.T. the Extra Terrestrial
The 1982 blockbuster classic by Steven Spielberg which features a very young Drew Barrymore along with an outstanding Henry Thomas among many others. A story about an Alien, left stranded on earth, told from the perspective of the kids who come to know and help him. E.T. just needs to phone home, but the emotional rollercoaster gets us all dusty in the eyes. Stephen saw it as a young Teenager and even remembers where, while Trev hasn't seen it. Executive Decision
Kurt Russell headlines alongside Steven Seagal, Halle Berry and a host of great names in this action thriller. Halloween (1978)
Stephen set Halloween up as a gory horror film and Trevor was worried, so what are the things you might not know about Halloween and just how scared did Trevor get? This was a 1978 low budget film that ended up grossing big-dollars. It was also the debut film for Jamie Lee Curtis who goes on to some pretty big things. In the Line of Fire
Starring Clint Eastwood and John Malkovich among a much bigger wider all-star case, this is a political thriller written by Jeff Maguire. A long serving Secret Service agent forms and unlikely two way relationship with a likely killer. It's a gripping story that doesn't have many slow moments. Duel
This one is a bit of an unknown for many we think, but Stephen loves it. A very young Steven Spielberg directs what was never meant to be a Cinematic release. Remember the Titans
This is a cracking film set in the early 1970's produced by Jerry Bruckheimer and based on the true story of coach Herman Boone. Boone is played by Denzel Washington and is a coach enlisted to integrate the T.C. Williams High School football team. A great cast shines a light on the issues of racism, segregation and integration in America's past, so what will Trev think of one of Stephen's all-time favourites? Flying High (aka Airplane)
Regarded as one of the funniest comedy movies of all time, it's the kind of movie not made any more. Comedy from shot to shot, scene to scene. Flying High - known as Airplane around the world, stars Robert Hays, Julie Hagerty, Liam Nielsen, Robert Stack, Lloyd Bridges, Peter Graves and even Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. Like a sketch show with a plot this movie is a parody of another presumably serious movie but done with the intent to make you laugh, and laugh you will. No Country for Old Men
Stephen describes this as a classic, and rightfully so. Winner of multiple academy awards, No Country for Old Men is set in rural Texas and centres around a long-time Sheriff and his struggles with where the world has gone to. A big drug deal has gone sour in his county and he's on the tail of a hitman out to get the cash back. Close Encounters of the Third Kind
The paranormal, UFO's, Government cover-ups, even the Bermuda Triangle - there are so many angles to this movie. Inspired in part by an event in Steven Spielberg's childhood Close Encounters stars Richard Dreyfuss as Roy Neary a man on a journey after a life changing encounter with a UFO. Trev's never seen it, couldn't even pick the movie the iconic sound came from, but Stephen knows all about it. So watch along with us, thanks to Fetch and Hisense.
Rain Man
Rain Man features an outstanding performance by Dustin Hoffman as Raymond - the Autistic Savant who's existence is discovered by his brother Charlie played by Tom Cruise only after their father's death. It's a road trip film, directed by Barry Levinson - and follows Cruise's characters journey of emotional pain, anger and learning to know and love his brother. Hoffman's character performance is one of the best you will see, and it's an eye opening look into his life. Trev's seen it, but doesn't remember the story, so rediscover it together with Stephen Fenech here thanks to Fetch and Hisense.
October Sky
You wouldn't know it from the title, or the cover art, but October Sky is the true story of a young man and his mates in a small American Coal Mining town who attempt to build rockets. Starring a young Jake Gyllenhaal, Chris Cooper, Chris Owen and Laura Dern, it's a moving story about freindships, family, work, township, and having goals. It's based on four young men who grew up in Coalwood West Virginia and were inspired to build a rocket after the Russians launched Sputnik! Castaway
This is an iconic movie, from Wilson, to Tom Hanks portrayal of a FedEx executive stuck for a staggering 1500 days on an isolated island in the Pacific. Even if you've seen it many times, there's a lot to pick up on in this movie. And the story of how it came about is also fascinating. Fatal Attraction
Michael Douglas finds himself at the centre of a psychological thriller in which he faces problems at home after a weekend fling. Glenn Close stars as the love-interest who's response to a weekend fling will have you on the edge of your seat with her obsession. The Great Escape
We're turning things on their head this week. Released in 1998, Saving Private Ryan is set in 1944, over a short period from the D-Day landing, starring Tom Hanks as the unlikely captain set a task that's hard to fathom. An all-star cast, plus some cracking cameos fill this movie, but it's the detail and realism of the filmmaking that sets it apart. A John Cleese gem. Written by the Monty Python legend A Fish Called Wanda premiered in 1988 and stars another Python Michael Palin. Perhaps a bit for everyone but not everything for anyone. First Blood
Sylvester Stallone is John J Rambo - a Vietnam vet who comes to find a fellow soldier only to find he's the last man alive. He comes to a small town where just on appearance he's rejected and things go from bad to worse very quickly. The skills he has make for a confrontation beyond the expectation of those against him. But underneath it all is an important message. Trev's seen it - he can't work out when, but this is a proper watch taking in all aspects of the movie thanks to Stephen's knowledge. Gene Wilder is outstanding as Willy Wonka in this adaptation of Roald Dahl's "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" which sees children around the world chasing one of five Golden Tickets. This is a late 90's classic set in the 80's which is why Stephen Fenech has seen it so many times, he's a child of the 80's. Stephen introduces Trev to the Alien franchise via the second instalment. A James Cameron masterpiece starring Sigourney Weaver this is a bit edge of the seat and at the same time a stop start rollercoaster ride. You don't need to watch Alien, as Stephen explains, but it also works just as well if you have - which is a revelation to Trev.
Moneyball
Based on a true story, Moneyball is all about the Oakland Athletics adopting a new approach to finding players. Pushing aside traditional "scouting", Beane finds a new young genius to help find players with a single goal - getting on base. It's a classic sports film, with Brad Pitt and Jonah Hill starring. This one breaks the title of the show though, because Trev has seen this too!
King Kong (1976)
Stephen has chosen the 1976 characterisation of King Kong as he believes it's the best. The story of a Giant Ape discovered on a remote island and brought to New York City as a tourist attraction and traveling show. Starring Jeff Bridges, Charles Grodin and the first film role of Jessica Lange - this is a different story to the 1932 and 2005 King Kong's but follows a similar path. The Hangover
Trev and Stephen go to Vegas more than any normal human, and while Stephen knows all about the adventures in Vegas in The Hangover, Trev is none the wiser. So, Stephen introduces Trev to The Hangover in this week's show, a cracking comedy, starring Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms, Zach Galifianakis, Heather Graham, Justin Bartha, Ken Jeong, and Jeffrey Tambor. RoboCop
The 1987 classic RoboCop would be best described as a science fiction action film - but could be seen by many as a glimpse into a heavily privatised corporate run world. Director Paul Verhoeven takes the Edward Neumeier screenplay and places Peter Weller, Nancy Allen, Daniel O'Herlihy, Ronny Cox, Kurtwood Smith, and Miguel Ferrer in to make for a cracking great show. A run-down Detroit could become the host for a new mega city - controlled by RoboCops. Misery
Misery is known as a psychological thriller, but Trev learns on his first watch that it's that and much more. Recorded just weeks after the passing of the Movie's star James Caan, Misery is directed by Rob Reiner based on Stephen King's 1987 novel of the same name It could easily be argued though that Kathy Bates stole the show in this one, with an outstanding and rightly Oscar winning performance. So, Stephen's read the book and watched the movie many times, this is Trevor's first go - let's see how that goes down.

This is a true classic starring Christopher Reeve as Superman, Trevor and Stephen take a look at this one from 1978 Just the first instalment in the Superman Film Series, Superman is directed by Richard Donner and features a cracking cast including Marlon Brando and Gene Hackman. Trev was a bit young when it came out, Stephen saw it in the cinemas, so fire up your Fetch on the Hisense TV and enjoy Superman!

ETrev's never seen it, and also never heard of it - but perhaps he's not the only one. Disclosure is an erotic thriller which was directed by Barry Levinson and stars Michael Douglas and Demi Moore Based on a Michael Crichton novel set over a week in an office which is going through a merger process while also working on some amazing new technology and has some hurdles in production. The story takes a twist when Demi Moore's character and Michael Douglas' character seemingly rekindle and old flame. More than just a though-starter that's for sure. The worst of the worst criminals are on a plane, alongside a man on his way to parole based freedom when things go down on board. It's an action film, but also a bit mad, so it's a lot of fun too - but as Stephen and Trevor find out, there's also some really deep thought. EOne of Stephens all-time favourites. The Warriors is a 1979 film about New York games directed by Walter Hill. Based on a 1965 novel of the same name, the Warriors are a gang who need to travel 50km back to Coney Island from the Bronx but they are being framed for the murder of a gang leader. Trev's never seen it, so it's Stephen's time to bring him up to speed.

When a wealthy man creates a theme park with a difference, he faces problems with insurance after an incident before opening. That incident involves one of the main attractions - one of the Dinosaurs that have been brought back to life. Experts arrive to give their tick of approval, and - well, then it all unfolds.
