Kyler Murray is Killin' 'Em, Lamar Jackson is on a Kaepernick Trajectory & James Harden to the Nets?
On today’s episode, Jason opens things up by sharing some quick thoughts on a few of the minor Sunday headlines, including: the Los Angeles Lakers’ brilliant trade to acquire Dennis Schroder to help bolster their chances of winning back-to-back NBA titles, Drew Brees’ injury scare and how it could impact the New Orleans Saints moving forward, and why the New England Patriots’ upset victory over the Baltimore Ravens was huge for the wiseguys in Las Vegas. Next, Jason does a deep dive into the ‘Hail Murray’ pass from Kyler Murray to DeAndre Hopkins to help the Arizona Cardinals steal a win against the Buffalo Bills. Murray is easily the most exciting player in the NFL right now, and he’s closing fast on Patrick Mahomes in the race for the MVP. While the NFL seems to have figured out Lamar Jackson, Murray has taken his game up another level. Speaking of Jackson, he still hasn’t shown the ability to come from behind and win. Even more concerning, however, is that he seems to have taken a step a back in Year Two with offensive coordinator Greg Roman. Let’s not forget that Roman was calling plays for another athletic quarterback who took the League by storm only to come crashing back down to Earth a few years later: Colin Kaepernick. Later, Producer Rob joins the show to help Jason make sense of the rumor that James Harden may look to force a trade to the Brooklyn Nets. Harden, Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving would instantly become the favorites to win the East, but are we certain the trio would have the chemistry needed to win a title? Who’s going to fall back and become the third banana? If the trade goes down, it’s going to be fascinating to watch it play out. Finally, Jason closes things out with the Monday Night Football edition of the Best Bet. 11/14/2020 – The Jason McIntyre Show – Giannis’ future in Milwaukee, Lamar Jackson vs. Colin Kaepernick, Week 10 Preview, Guests – Bernie Fratto, John McMullen, Michael VandeGarde
Jason McIntyre explains why he is pessimistic that the Milwaukee Bucks will be able to retain the services of Giannis Antetokounmpo. He says that NFL defenses are figuring out Lamar Jackson the same way they did against Colin Kaepernick. Jason weighs in on the rumor that the Los Angeles Lakers could pursue DeMar DeRozan in a trade and questions if Carson Wentz is being held accountable for his poor play.Guests include: ‘Straight Outta Vegas’ host Bernie Fratto, Eagles insider John McMullen, Former NBA scout Michael Vandegarde Learn more about your ad-choices at https://www.iheartpodcastnetwork.comSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

The Colts Are Legit, Lamar Jackson Dry Snitched on Himself & FanDuel's John Sheeran
On today's episode, Jason starts things by telling us how impressed he was with the Indianapolis Colts and the way they thoroughly outplayed the Tennessee Titans on Thursday Night Football. The offensive line is tough and the defense is great, but the emergence of rookie wide receiver Michael Pittman Jr. has turned Indy into a legitimate threat in the AFC. Suddenly, Philip Rivers is surrounded by weapons and all he has to do is manage the game for the team to be successful. Jason also shares his thoughts on Lamar Jackson's decision to vent about the predictability of the Baltimore Ravens offense. While Jackson's concerns are valid, in many ways it feels like his comments say more about his own limitations than it does about the playcalling. Needless to say, Sunday Night's matchup against the Patriots is a big one for Jackson and the Ravens. Plus, FanDuel director of trading John Sheeran swings by to explain why the NBA drives a bigger betting handle every season than the NFL, how difficult it can be to set the correct gambling lines given that there is no true home field advantage due to the pandemic, why he never believed in the 'The Sharps vs. The Squares' narrative that seems to permeate through sports media, why he doesn't agree with moving the lines just because the overwhelming amount of money is on one side, why the mantra 'never bet on bad teams' doesn't always pay off, and much more! Finally, Jason closes things out with his usual 4-for-1 NFL Sunday edition of the Best Bet. Russell Westbrook wants out of Houston, COVID is Crushing College Football & Masters Preview with SEC Network's Peter Burns
On today's episode, Jason share his thoughts on reports that Russell Westbrook has requested a trade from the Houston Rockets. Westbrook has proven over the years that he doesn't play well with others and his style of play doesn't translate to playoff success, so it's really no surprise that he flamed out in Houston. The real question then is: Which team is crazy enough to trade for him? The Knicks? The Clippers? Later, Producer Rob checks in to explain why he believes Westbrook's trade demand says a whole lot more about James Harden and his overall lack of accountability than it does about Westbrook. Once Russ gets traded, Harden will have run off 3 separate All-NBA teammates - Dwight Howard, Chris Paul and Westbrook. Wow! Plus, ESPN SEC Network host and former collegiate golfer Peter Burns swings by to explain why he always felt that this season was the perfect year to expand the College Football Playoff... until he realized teams may not even able to finish the regular season, why he believes COVID-19 contract tracing is the biggest reason why so many college football games are being postponed or canceled, how the PGA Tour has turned into the NBA in that guys would rather be buddies than rivals, how Bryson DeChambeau became the sport's villain (in a good way), how Tiger Woods transcended the sport of golf, and much more! Plus, Jason tries to get back to his winning ways with the Thursday Night Football edition of the Best Bet. More NFL Football is a Good Thing, Knicks and Suns want CP3 & Could LaMelo Ball fall in the NBA Draft?
On today's episode, Jason starts things off by explaining why he's fully on-board with the NFL's plan to switch to a 16-team Playoff bracket in the event that not every team can complete a full regular season schedule due to COVID. Producer Rob pushes back on the idea in a big way - and even Jason admits that the contingency plan should've been put into place before the season even started - but you can never have too much good NFL football. Later, the guys share their thoughts on the reports that the New York Knicks and the Phoenix Suns are both interested in trading for Chris Paul. Nobody really expects CP3 to play a full 82 games, but he could be very nice addition to either squad albeit for completely different reasons. Plus, NBA Draft analyst Matt Babcock swings by to explain why the lack of a clear-cut superstar doesn’t mean that this is a weak Draft at all, why the ‘entitled’ label surrounding LaMelo Ball could lead to him falling out of the top-5 picks, why he believes that Anthony Edwards is the most talented player available, why James Wiseman has the athletic profile of a guy like David Robinson – which should make him an ideal fit for today’s NBA, why character concerns could push Cole Anthony down a few Draft boards, and much more! The Jets Lose and Still Win, the Fraudulent Seattle Seahawks & Bad Blood Between Brady and Arians?
On today's episode, Jason starts things by taking a small victory lap after his beloved New York Jets managed to stay competitive and still lose on Monday Night Football to the New England Patriots. Gang Green cannot afford to eek out victories when they're still just 1 game up on the Jacksonville Jaguars in the race for the #1 overall pick in the NFL Draft. Trevor Lawrence is a once-in-a-generation type talent at the quarterback position, and if it takes an 0-16 season to get him to the Jets, then so be it. Later, Producer Rob joins the show to help Jason make sense of Bruce Arians' latest comments about Tom Brady being unable - or unwilling - to get the ball to superstar wide receiver Mike Evans on Sunday night against the New Orleans Saints. Brady had an off-game to be sure, but isn't it odd that Antonio Brown caught more balls in his first week on the team than Evans did? It could be nothing; it come be something. All we know is that this isn't the first time that Arians has called out Brady publicly, and Tom Terrific didn't take too well to that kind of treatment back in New England. File this one away for later. Finally, the guys close things out by explaining why Russell Wilson and the Seattle Seahawks are not legitimate Super Bowl contenders at this point in time. Wilson is awesome, but that Seahawks defense is one of the worst we've seen in a while. Unless they can find a way to even slow down the opposition, they'll find themselves one-and-done in the NFL Playoffs. The Best Team in the NFL, Patrick Mahomes for MVP & Time to Break Up the Bears
On today's episode, Jason kicks things off by sharing a quick thought on the New Orleans Saints beatdown of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday Night Football. Now, there are a lot of conclusions you can draw from that game, but the biggest one is this: There is no dominant team in today's NFL. The Bucs might be the most complete team, but dominant teams don't get beat by 35 points. The Seattle Seahawks defense can't stop a nosebleed, and the Green Bay Packers got their doors blown off 2 weeks ago. Even the undefeated Pittsburgh Steelers needed a 4th quarter comeback to beat the hapless Dallas Cowboys on Sunday. In fact, Jason argues that in a field of very-good-but-not-great teams, the only way to really determine whose the best is by identifying which team has the best player, and that honor belongs to the Kansas City Chiefs. Patrick Mahomes has re-asserted himself as the clear-cut MVP frontrunner, but his greatness is being taken for granted. In many ways, Mahomes is the LeBron James of the NFL: He should be the MVP every year, but voters will still find a way to give it someone else. Later, Jason explains why it's time to consider blowing up the Chicago Bears. Nick Foles is clearly not a franchise quarterback, and noted offensive 'guru' Matt Nagy has shown that he's anything but. Jason also shares a quick thought on Jim Harbaugh's latest embarrassing loss as the head coach at Michigan, and explain why he's almost certain that Harbaugh will be back in the NFL next season. Finally, Jason closes things out by handing out the Monday Night Football edition of The Best Bet. Packers Pound the 49ers, Jim Harbaugh to the Chargers? & FOX College Football analyst Robert Smith
On today's episode, Jason starts things off by briefly talking about the Green Bay Packers beatdown of the San Francisco 49ers on Thursday Night Football. The game was basically over in the second quarter, and things went pretty much how most of us thought it would: Aaron Rodgers and Davante Adams were too much to handle, and the 49ers offense was too banged up to really changed the Packers defense. Later, Jason explains why he thinks Saturday's game between Michigan and Indiana is essentially a must-win for Jim Harbaugh's Wolverines. But, if they lose, it won't be all bad since Harbaugh could likely just head back to the NFL. Jason runs down the list of teams who could serve as possible landing spots, but says there's one specific team in the AFC that makes the most sense. Plus, former NFL running back and FOX Sports college football analyst Robert Smith swings by to explain how COVID has affected his travel and work schedules as a broadcaster, why he can't envision Jim Harbaugh willingly leaving the University of Michigan even if the Wolverines continue to disappoint this season, why he is understanding of the fact that Trevor Lawrence's COVID recovery protocol at Clemson is different than Graham Mertz's at Wisconsin, why he's hopeful that all the uncertainty surrounding this year's College Football Playoff will force the committee to expand to 8 teams, why he'd love to see a team like the University of Cincinnati get a playoff berth, and much more! Thursday Night Football Preview & NFL Week 9 wagering with Dave Weaver
On today’s episode, Jason starts things off by previewing tonight’s Thursday Night Football game between the Green Bay Packers and the San Francisco 49ers. To say these teams are banged up would be an understatement. The Packers could be without their top 3 running backs, and the San Francisco 49ers will be every single starting offensive skill position player. Ouch! And yet, Jason discovered one statistical nugget that has him feeling very confident about San Francisco’s ability to at least cover the spread. Plus, FanDuel and TVG sports betting expert Dave Weaver swings by to discuss the NFL Week 9 gambling lines, and explain why he also likes the 49ers to cover the spread against the Packers, why he's expecting the Washington Football Team's defense to be the reason they blow out the New York Giants, why he likes Kyler Murray and the Arizona Cardinals to cover the spread against the Miami Dolphins, why he feels much more comfortable taking the Pittsburgh Steelers in survivor pools rather than picking them to cover the double-digit spread against the Dallas Cowboys, why he's leaning towards the New Orleans Saints to cover the spread against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers even with Antonio Brown added to the mix, why he loves the Baltimore Ravens as a Super Bowl futures play, and much more! Betting Road Underdogs in the NFL & NFL Trade Deadline talk with The MMQB's Andrew Brandt
It's a very special Election-free edition of Straight Fire! On today's episode, Jason opens things up by giving out two NFL Week 9 underdogs he's thinking about betting on this Sunday. It's still very early in the week, but all you bettors out there would be wise to take a long look at the Las Vegas Raiders traveling to Los Angeles to take on the Chargers and the Chicago Bears against the Tennessee Titans. Plus, former Green Bay Packers executive and MMQB columnist Andrew Brandt swings to discuss what went down (or more specifically, what did NOT go down) at the NFL trade deadline. Brandt explains why he believes the Packers ultimately decided not to make a trade for Houston Texans wide receiver Will Fuller and it had everything to do with Fuller's impending free agency, why Green Bay has historically been quiet at the deadline and in free agency, why the uncertainty surrounding the 2021 salary cap makes draft picks even more valuable, why the San Francisco 49ers creative management of the salary cap could allow them to move on from Jimmy Garoppolo after the season, why he's only cautiously optimistic that every NFL team will be able to play all 16 games this season, and much more! Danny Dimes is Broke, Tough Debut for Tua & Sam Darnold to Replace Jimmy G in San Francisco?
On today's episode, Jason starts things off by sharing his thoughts on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers narrow victory over the New York Giants on Monday Night Football. There's not much to take from the game on the Bucs side since they were clearly looking ahead to their Week 9 matchup against the New Orleans Saints, but there is one big takeaway from the Giants side: Daniel Jones is not The Guy. He's too inconsistent and he turns the ball over way too much to be a franchise quarterback. Don't be surprised to see the Giants target his replacement at the top of the 2021 NFL Draft. Later, Jason explains why Jimmy Garoppolo's ankle injury means he's probably done for the season, but more importantly, it means we've probably seen his last game as the starting quarterback of the San Francisco 49ers. Jimmy G has been injured for most of the last few seasons - and he's never been an elite quarterback to begin with. Now, the 49ers could target a veteran this offseason like Matt Ryan or Matthew Stafford. Or, they could think outside the box and make a move on New York Jets quarterback Sam Darnold. The Jets appear to be a lock to take Clemson's Trevor Lawrence in the Draft, so Darnold could be had on the cheap. Finally, Jason closes things out by explaining why he was fairly unimpressed by Tua Tagovailoa's debut performance as the Miami Dolphins starting quarterback. He just looked small and unathletic compared to the other quarterbacks in his draft class. For the sake of Dolphins fans, let's hope Game One was an aberration. Lamar Jackson is the Giannis of the NFL, Packers and Titans are Frauds & It's Over for the Patriots
On today’s episode, Jason starts things off my explaining how the Baltimore Ravens loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers proves that Lamar Jackson is the Giannis Antetokounmpo of the NFL - a marvelous regular season player whose fatal flaws get exposed against the best competition. Three years into his NFL career, Jackson still hasn’t shown he’s a good enough passer to beat good teams when his ability to run has been taken away either through scheme or game flow. Until he proves he can win games from the pocket, the Ravens will never win big in the postseason. Jason also explains why the Tennessee Titans and Green Bay Packers both losing to 1-win teams proves that neither team should be viewed as a legitimate Super Bowl contender. Only frauds lose to bad teams this deep into the season. What’s more, Aaron Rodgers seems to recognize that his team is lacking in at least one area and he’s doing everything he can to force the Packers front office into making a move before the trade deadline. Later, Jason tells us why the New England Patriots heartbreaking loss on the road against the Buffalo Bills should place them firmly alongside the New York Jets and the New York Giants in the Trevor Lawrence Sweepstakes. None of those teams are going anywhere this season, and the sooner Bill Belichick admits it the better off the Patriots will be in the long run. Panthers are Who We Thought They Were, Trevor Lawrence Has the 'Rona & Professional Bettor Preston Johnson
On today's episode, Jason starts things off my sharing his thoughts on the Atlanta Falcons' Thursday Night Football victory over the Carolina Panthers. In short, the Panthers are exactly who we thought they were: a bad football team. Jason also shares a quick thought on Trevor Lawrence's positive COVID test. Isn't it convenient that the 10-day quarantine period ends exactly on the day of Clemson's biggest game of the regular season against Notre Dame? Weird. But on the bright side, today is Venmo Giveaway Day! Two very lucky listeners earned $100 straight out of Jason's gambling fund (and there's plenty more where that came from). Plus, professional sports gambler Preston Johnson swings by to explain why he wasn't fully against Kevin Cash's decision to pull Blake Snell in Game 6 of the World Series, why he's currently leaning towards betting on Cam Newton and the New England Patriots (even without their top two wide receivers) this Sunday against the Buffalo Bills, why he doesn't buy into certain trends that may lead bettors to bet big on the Los Angeles Rams in their matchup against Tua Tagovailoa, why he really had no choice but to bet on the Denver Broncos this Sunday against the Los Angeles Chargers, why the Pittsburgh Steelers may be a little bit of Fool's Gold, and much more! Dallas is Tanking for Dak Prescott's Replacement, a $100 Giveaway & FOX College Football reporter Bruce Feldman
On today's episode, Jason kicks things off my naming the winner of his monthly $100 iTunes comments giveaway, and later explains why the Dallas Cowboys recent trades and roster cuts on the defensive side of the ball are setting the stage for them to essentially tank the season and take Dak Prescott's replacement in the NFL Draft. Hey Justin Fields, we hope you like Dallas! Plus, FOX college football reporter Bruce Feldman swings by to discuss his new book 'Flip the Script' which chronicles the storybook season of the 2019 college football national champion LSU Tigers, and explain how the addition of Joe Brady and the development of wide receivers like Justin Jefferson and Ja'Marr Chase helped Joe Burrow develop into a superstar, how a series of minor dustups at practice against the LSU defense helped Burrow earn the respect of his teammates, why the success of guys like Sean McVay and Kliff Kingsbury could help Brady get NFL head coaching interviews this season, and share his thoughts on all the biggest headlines around the world of college football. Dodgers Win the World Series, Analytics Killed the Rays & COVID Almost Ruined It All
On today's episode, Jason brings us wall-to-wall reaction to the Los Angeles Dodgers victory in Game 6 to clinch the World Series title. Unfortunately, the biggest story of the night had nothing to do with what actually happened on the field as we found out that Dodgers third baseman Justin Turner tested positive for COVID-19 and had to be pulled from the game in the sixth inning. Can you imagine what would've happened if the Tampa Bay Rays would've came back and won Game 6? Would they still have played Game 7 on Wednesday? Major League Baseball, FOX television and the Dodgers, especially, dodged a major bullet on that one. On the field, the biggest story, by far, centered around Kevin Cash's decision to pull ace pitcher Blake Snell in the middle of the fifth inning with the Rays up 1-0. Snell has been almost unhittable the entire game up to that point, but Cash decided to pull Snell anyway because the 'analytics say he struggles his third time through a lineup'. Seriously. The over-reliance on analytics has run amok throughout the sports world, and it may have cost the Rays a World Series championship in the process. Finally, in what may have been the biggest storyline of the night were it new for Turner's COVID test and Cash's managerial blunder, kudos to Clayton Kershaw for finally getting over the hump and earning that World Series ring. Put some respect on that man's name! Learn more about your ad-choices at https://www.iheartpodcastnetwork.comSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Fraudulent Chicago Bears, Baker Mayfield is Better Without OBJ & World Series talk with FS1's Rob Parker
On today's episode, Jason shares his thoughts on the Los Angeles Rams' demolition of the Chicago Bears on Monday Night Football. Not only did the Bears get exposed as a playoff frauds, but quarterback Nick Foles may have thrown head coach Matt Nagy under the bus as well. But, don't let the Rams victory fool you into thinking that they're some world-beater either; Los Angeles still hasn't beaten a good team yet and their schedule is only going to get tougher. Later, Jason explains why he thinks Cleveland Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield could end up turning the corner in the second half of the season now that Odell Beckham Jr. is out for the rest of the season with an injury. Mayfield can now just hit the open man as he no longer has to force-feed his diva wide receiver to keep him happy. Plus, FOX Sports Radio host and FS1 analyst Rob Parker swings by to discuss what it was like watching Game 3, 4 and 5 of the World Series from the stadium in Arlington, why he was so impressed with the way the Los Angeles Dodgers bounced back to win Game 5 after their excruciating loss in Game 4, why Clayton Kershaw needs a ring to rid himself of the 'Postseason Choke Artist' reputation, why he isn't a fan of playoff expansion in Major League Baseball (or any sport), and much more! Tom Brady is Terrific, Bill Belichick is Feeling Blue & The Best NFL Sunday Slate So Far
On today’s episode, Jason and Producer Rob open things up with a quick shoutout to Clayton Kershaw and the Los Angeles Dodgers for bouncing back following their stunning Game 4 loss and win Game 5 of the World Series. Next, Jason takes a small victory lap following Kyler Murray’s virtuoso performance on Sunday Night Football against Russell Wilson and the Seattle Seahawks. Don’t look now but the Arizona Cardinals could threaten for the NFC West crown. Later, Jason explains why it’s so clear by now – if it wasn’t already before – that Tom Brady made the right choice by leaving Bill Belichick and the New England Patriots. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are clearly the best team in the NFC, and they’re showing no signs of slowing down anytime soon. On the flip side, the Patriots appear to be a middling football team and are suddenly on the verge of completing their first October in 20 years. But, be wary Bucs fans as the addition of mercurial wide receiver Antonio Brown could throw a monkey wrench into all of this. Jason also shares his thoughts on Odell Beckham Jr’s unfortunate knee injury and explains why Baker Mayfield should still be able to thrive without him at least in the short term, and later tells us why the Detroit Lions’ come-from-behind victory against the Atlanta Falcons could give them the momentum they need to make a playoff push this season. Done with Doug Pederson, What to Make of Carson Wentz & Football Outsider's Aaron Schatz
On today's episode, Jason open things up by sharing his thoughts on the Philadelphia Eagles rollercoaster victory over the New York Giants on Thursday Night Football. Daniel Jones was turnover machine and Carson Wentz was wildly inconsistent, both of which were to be expected, but the big takeaway form this game was the evolution of Doug Pederson. Two years ago, he was dialing up trick plays to Nick Foles for touchdowns in the Super Bowl. Now? He's dialing up 4th down fade routes to receivers who are still without an NFL catch. Safe to say that Jason is officially done with Pederson. Later, Football Outsiders' Aaron Schatz swings by to discuss his creation of the DVOA metric that's become so wildly popular in NFL circles, how the Eagles' 2018 Super Bowl run changed the way teams feel about being aggressive playcalling, why it's hard to determine if the Las Vegas Raiders' inability to practice this week due to COVID would be a positive or a negative this Sunday against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, why you should expect Ryan Tannehill to continue his high level of play moving forward, why Baker Mayfield and the Cleveland Browns are nowhere near as good as their record while Drew Brees and the New Orleans Saints are much better than theirs, and much more! Miami Turned to Tua Too Early, The Hard Truth About Carson Wentz & The Ringer's John Gonzalez
On today's episode, Jason gives a quick hat tip to the Tampa Bay Rays for winning Game 2 of the World Series and setting up what we're all hoping to be a long series against the heavily favored Los Angeles Dodgers, and tells us why he thinks the Miami Dolphins made a mistake turning the keys over to rookie quarterback Tua Tagovailoa while the team is still in the thick of the AFC East title chase. Jason also explains why he's dubious about the New Orleans Pelicans' decision to hire Stan Van Gundy as their next head coach. SVG was an absolute dumpster fire during his stint with the Detroit Pistons and if things start to go bad again the Pelicans run the risk of alienating their superstar Zion Williamson. Plus, The Ringer's John Gonzalez swings by for a long interview to discuss the evolution of print journalism over the years and the harsh realities that upcoming journalists need to accept if they want to enjoy a long career in the field, explain why bad injury luck is the probably the biggest reason why the Dallas Cowboys and the Philadelphia Eagles are so bad, discuss why Eagles fans were so quick to turn on Wentz once he started to play poorly, tell us why he believes Doc Rivers is a much better coach than guys Jason give him credit for, and much more! Kudos to Kerhsaw, Brady is Winning the Break-Up with Belichick & Former NFL Pro Bowler Donte Whitner
On today's episode, Jason opens things up by congratulating Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Clayton Kershaw for delivering a vintage 'Regular Season Kershaw' performance in the postseason to help Los Angeles win Game 1 of the World Series. He also does a deep dive into the Tom Brady-Bill Belichick break-up now that we're almost halfway through their first season. As things stand right now, it's clear that Belichick's New England Patriots and Brady's Tampa Bay Buccaneers are trending in opposite directions. To put it quite simply, Brady is 'winning' that break-up. Plus, former Pro Bowl safety and NBC Sports Bay Area analyst Donte Whitner swings by to explain how working in television compares to playing int he NFL, why he considers Vic Fangio to be one of the greatest defensive minds in League history, why he believes college football is doing a poor job of preparing young quarterbacks for the NFL (shout out Baker Mayfield and Josh Allen), why Russell Wilson and Patrick Mahomes are clearly the top two quarterbacks in the NFL right now, why he believes the quality of play in the NFL is suffering this season, and much more! Time for a Dallas Cowboys Fire Sale, Josh Allen is NOT Who We Thought He Was & Brees vs. Rivers
On today's episode, Jason shares his thoughts on the Dallas Cowboys embarrassing home loss to the Arizona Cardinals on Monday Night Football. The Cowboys were already bad with Dak Prescott under center but they've become downright unwatchable without him. The supposed ‘best backup quarterback in the NFL’ Andy Dalton can’t hit the red side of a barn and the defense is an absolute sieve. At this point, it’s clear that the roster is fatally flawed, and Jerry Jones would be wise to consider moving on from high-priced offensive stars Ezekiel Elliott and Amari Cooper if they want to rebuild the right way. Later, Jason admits that he was dead wrong for calling Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen an MVP-caliber player a few weeks back. As soon as the schedule started to toughen up, Allen went back to being one of the most inaccurate throwers of the football in the AFC. While the Bills may still win the AFC East, it’s clear that they’re not the Super Bowl contenders some made them out to be during the first month of the season. Finally, Jason closes things out by throwing a wild hypothetical question involving two aging quarterbacks: Who would you rather have for the rest of the season: Philip Rivers or Drew Brees? J-Mac makes the case for one, and his answer may surprise you. Learn more about your ad-choices at https://www.iheartpodcastnetwork.comSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Dodgers Back in the World Series, Derrick Henry for MVP & Blowout Wins for the Bucs and Steelers
On today's episode, Jason and Producer Rob get things started by sharing their thoughts on a wild Game 7 in the NLCS. The Dodgers got a clutch home run from Cody Bellinger to clinch their 3rd World Series appearance in the last 4 years - but should we expect the results to be any different this time around? Will Clayton Kershaw finally be able to exercise his postseason demons once and for all? We'll find out soon enough. Later, Jason reacts to all the Week 6 action in the NFL, including the Tampa Bay Buccaneers' thrashing of Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers, the Tennessee Titans' overtime victory over the Houston Texans led by MVP-candidate Derrick Henry, the Pittsburgh Steelers suffocating win over Baker Mayfield and the Cleveland Browns, and much more. Jason also takes a quick look-ahead at the Week 7 gambling lines and lets you know which games look appetizing from a betting perspective. Le'Veon Bell Picks the Chiefs, Ty Lue Skepticism & NFL conversation with PFF's Sam Monson
On today's episode, Jason starts things off by explaining why he thinks running back Le'Veon Bell will be a great fit with the Kansas City Chiefs, why you have to give former Houston Rockets general manager Daryl Morey credit for his role in revolutionizing the way basketball is played today even if his Rockets never actually won a title, and why he's skeptical about Tyronn Lue being the right man for the job as the head coach of the Los Angeles Clippers. Plus, Pro Football Focus analyst Sam Monson swings by to discuss his unlikely rise from message board commenter to PFF NFL analyst, explain exactly how the PFF grading system works and why longevity is key in determining a player's true grade, tell us why he's expecting big things from Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers this Sunday against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and why he's nervous about Baker Mayfield's matchup against that aggressive Pittsburgh Steelers, explain why he likes the Philadelphia Eagles' season-long outlook now that Carson Wentz is rounding back into form, discuss how the Las Vegas Raiders may have created a blueprint for other teams to follow on how to slow down Patrick Mahomes, and much more! The Ring Chasers will Come Flocking to LeBron and the Lakers & NFL Week 6 Preview with Tori Gurley
On today's episode, Jason does a deep dive on the future of LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers, and explains why he can envision a scenario where a slew of NBA veterans look to 'ring chase' next season alongside The King. Do you want to play alongside 2 of the greatest players in the NBA? Are you willing to set ego aside in the quest for a championship? Do you want to use the Lakers brand to elevate your own individual brand? Are you interested in setting yourself up for a career after basketball? If the answer to these questions is yes, then the Lakers are the perfect spot for you in 2021. Jason even has a list of 5 veteran players he could envision looking to latch on to the Purple and Gold next season (We see you, Carmelo Anthony!) Plus, former NFL wide receiver Tori Gurley swings by to discuss what it was like playing on the same AAU basketball team as Steph Curry (and beating a team led by Kevin Durant) and when he knew Steph was destined for greatness, his biggest regret from his days in the NFL, tell us why he's betting big on Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers this Sunday, and much more! Josh Allen and the Bills Got Exposed, the Dumpster Fire New York Jets & Michael Thomas' Diva Tendencies
On today’s episode, Jason shares his thoughts on The Tennessee Titans’ Tuesday Night Football demolition of the Buffalo Bills, and he wonders aloud if Josh Allen and the Bills were overrated all along. It’s impossible to come away from that game thinking that Buffalo is a legitimate Super Bowl contender or that Allen is a better quarterback than the slightly above-average Ryan Tannehill. Later, Jason discusses the New York Jets shocking decision to dump high-priced running back Le’Veon Bell and explains that although Bell was a disappointment in New York it’s hard to put 100% of the blame on the mercurial tailback. Let’s be honest, the Jets have been arguably the worst-run NFL franchise of the last decade. Finally, Jason closes the show by doing a deep dive into the scathing report in the Athletic on New Orleans Saints wide receiver Michael Thomas. Is Thomas the latest diva wide receiver to let success get to his head, or will he take the criticism to heart and get back on the straight and narrow? Only time will tell. But if the Saints keep struggling this season… it could get worse before it gets better. The Cursed Chargers, The Dak Prescott Conundrum & LeBron the IG King
On today’s episode, Jason shares his thoughts on the Monday Night Football matchup between the Los Angeles Chargers and the New Orleans Saints, and explains why it’s time to admit that the Chargers are a cursed franchise – even if rookie quarterback Justin Herbert is an absolute stud, and that it’s crazy to think that Drew Brees is still an upper-echelon quarterback. Jason also goes off on Dallas Cowboys COO Stephen Jones for proclaiming Dak Prescott to be the ‘future’ of the franchise on the heels of Dak’s catastrophic ankle injury. Who in their right mind would willingly paint themselves into a corner like that? Later, Producer Rob joins the discussion to help make sense of LeBron James’ latest social media shot at all the haters and naysayers in the sports media world. If Michael Jordan can use perceived slights as motivation to elevate his play why can't LeBron do the same? Finally, Jason looks to keep his hot streak going with a very special Tuesday Night Football edition of The Best Bet. LeBron's Case for the GOAT, Tough Day for Dak Prescott & the Fraudulent 49ers
On today's episode, Jason and Producer Rob start things off by taking a verbal victory lap to celebrate the Los Angeles Lakers winning the 2020 NBA championship. Jason argues that LeBron James winning his 4th ring has officially vaulted him past Michael Jordan in the GOAT conversation, and the guys discuss the Lakers' chances of repeating in 2021. Plus, Jason and Rob share their thoughts on the runner-up Miami Heat and tell us if we should expect to see Jimmy Butler, Bam Adabayo and the boys in the championship mix moving forward coming out of the Eastern Conference. Later, Jason does a deep dive into Week 5 of the NFL and explains why the brutal ankle injury suffered by Dak Prescott on Sunday could ultimately cost him that giant payday from the Dallas Cowboys, why he's so excited to see that the Seattle Seahawks have continued to let Russell Wilson cook, why injuries and the inconsistent play of quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo have the San Francisco 49ers staring down the barrel of another losing season, what - if anything - the NFL can do to make sure every team can play all 16 games this season following the latest COVID outbreak, and much more! Bad Night For Tom Brady and the Bucs, a 3-for-1 NFL Best Bet & NBA champion Eddie House
On today's episode, Jason shares his thoughts on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers ugly Thursday Night Football loss to Nick Foles and the Chicago Bears. The Bucs thoroughly outplayed the Bears, and were it not for a few flag-happy referees we may have seen a different outcome. And while many will point to Tom Brady's sideline blowup towards his offensive linemen or him forgetting what down it was on the final drive, Jason encourages Bucs fans to stop, take a deep breath and give TB12 a few more weeks with a healthy roster before you start to pass judgement. Plus, NBA champion Eddie House swings by to explain why he was so surprised to see the Los Angeles Clippers fire his former coach Doc Rivers, tell us why he has a hard time considering Giannis Antetokounmpo to be a true 'superstar' given the way he's flamed out in the playoffs the past two years, discuss the idea that this year's NBA title should have an asterisk next to it, explain why he would vote for LeBron James as this year's NBA Finals MVP (but with a hat tip to Rajon Rondo), tell us why he would still pick Michael Jordan as the GOAT over his former teammate LeBron, and much more! NBC Sports' Peter King on COVID Outbreaks, Haskins Getting Benched, Dabo to the NFL? & more!
On today’s episode, Jason is joined by NBC Sports NFL insider Peter King for a longform discussion on all the biggest headlines around the National Football League. Peter discusses the COVID-19 outbreak within the Tennessee Titans organization and what it could mean for the League as a whole moving forward, tells us why offensive coordinators Eric Bienemy of Kansas City and Brian Daboll of Buffalo should be at the top of several head coaching searches this offseason, explains why he has a hard time picturing Clemson football coach Dabo Swinney jumping to the NFL even if it means coaching one of his former quarterbacks in Trevor Lawrence of Deshaun Watson, sheds light on the real reason why Washington decided to bench Dwayne Haskins, and much more! Lakers Are One Win Away, LeBron or AD for Finals MVP? & an NFL Conversation with Field Yates
On today’s episode, Jason shares his thoughts on the Los Angeles Lakers nail-biting victory over the Miami Heat in Game 4 of the NBA Finals. LeBron James was fantastic in the second half, but it was Anthony Davis, Rajon Rondo and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope who made the biggest plays down the stretch. In fact, Jason argues that it’s AD – not LeBron – who is most deserving of the Finals MVP. Not only is Davis putting up comparable stats offensively, but he’s playing all-world defense. That’s not to say that LeBron hasn’t been fantastic (and Jason has a few choice words for all the LeBron Haters out there), just that Davis has been better. Plus, ESPN NFL insider and podcast host Field Yates swings by to explain why he believes scoring is up through the first 4 weeks of the season, why he doesn’t share Jason’s optimism about the Kansas City Chiefs going 16-0, why Dak Prescott has a massive payday on the horizon – even if it’s not with the Dallas Cowboys, why the New York Jets being forced to choose between Sam Darnold and Trevor Lawrence could be the most interesting decision of this upcoming offseason, and much more! Chiefs Can Go 16-0, Super Bowl Contender Packers? So & The Hard Truth About the Texans
On today’s episode, Jason tells us he wouldn’t be surprised to Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs run the table and finish the regular season 16-0. Have you seen their schedule? It’s not exactly a Murderer’s Row. Now, there are two things that could derail their perfect season (which Jason lays out very eloquently), but if the Chiefs are locked in 16-0 is absolutely in play. Later, Producer Rob joins the show to take a small victory lap after Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers rolled to yet another victory, and the guys wonder aloud why Rodgers still doesn’t get the respect he deserves. Jason also shares his thoughts on the Houston Texans’ decision to fire head coach and general manager Bill O’Brien. The Texans are 0-4 so the decision to axe O’Brien shouldn’t come as much of a surprise – and neither should the fact that another Bill Belichick disciple flamed out. But, even though Houston has a franchise quarterback in place in Deshaun Watson, don’t expect the best candidates to come beating down the door to become the Texans head coach. In fact, Jason argues that the soon-to-be vacant New York Jets head coaching job is actually more desirable. Dumpster Fire Dallas Cowboys, Josh Allen for MVP?, Tom Brady Turns Back the Clock & 'The Jimmy Butler Game'
On today’s episode, Jason discusses the trouble brewing under the surface within the Dallas Cowboys. The 1-3 record is bad enough, but now Jerry Jones and Dak Prescott are taking subtle shots at other members of the team. It could already be the beginning of the end for Dak in Big D if things don't turn around quickly. Plus, has anyone improved more year-to-year than Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen? Allen is suddenly a top-flight quarterback, and the Bills are starting to look like a legitimate Super Bowl contender as a result. Jason goes on to explain why he’s been so impressed with Tom Brady’s play through the first month of the season. As the saying goes, age ain’t nothing but a number. Later, Producer Rob joins the show to recap the rest of Sunday’s Week 4 NFL action, and the guys share their thoughts on Jimmy Butler’s legendary performance in Game 3 of the NBA Finals to help the Miami Heat avoid the dreaded 0-3 series hold. The M-E-S-S JETS JETS JETS, "Look at Me" Kyrie & NFL Week 4 betting with Ace Karalis
On today's episode, Jason is forced to host through the tears after his beloved New York Jets put on (another) embarrassing performance on national television. How can Adam Gase still have a job this morning after what he’s done to this once-proud franchise? If the front office had any sense, Gase would be fired before you finish listening to this episode. Plus, Producer Rob joins the show to help make sense of Kyrie Irving’s decision to throw subtle shade at LeBron James regarding his late-game performance over the years. Not only is it clear that Kyrie is desperate for attention, but what he said was factually inaccurate. Later, professional sports bettor Ace Karalis swings by to discuss how certain groups are manipulating the betting lines at various sportsbooks, why he doesn't concern himself with out the public bets when he makes his own wagers, which NFL week 4 gambling lines he likes (and which he doesn't), and much more! The Juggernaut Lakers, The Hobbled Heat & former NFL All-Pro Shawne Merriman
On today's episode, Jason shares his thoughts on the Los Angeles Lakers' demolition of the Miami Heat in Game 1 of the NBA Finals. But more than that, he explains how a series of moves and a culture built around superstar LeBron James has put them in position to win the NBA championship. Jason also explains why the foot injury to Heat guard Goran Dragic could be the proverbial nail in the coffin to Miami's hopes of coming back at all in this series. Later, former NFL All-Pro and host of the 'Lights Out' podcast Shawne Merriman swings by to explain why he would've had a hard time adhering to the NFL's strict COVID-19 measures if they were in place when he was playing, why he thinks that Matt Ryan of the Atlanta Falcons could be the most overrated and Joe Burrow could be the most underrated quarterback in the League, how he ultimately got the nickname 'Lights Out', and much more! Week 4 NFL Lines to Bet Early, LeBron is Feeling the Pressure, Heat Giving Off '04 Pistons Vibes
On today's episode, Jason starts things off by giving you 5 good minutes on last night's Presidential Debate. Whatever side of the aisle you're on, you have to admit that it looked more like an SNL skit than a debate to help decide the leader of the free world. Later, Jason takes a midweek lookahead to the NFL Week 4 gambling lines and gives you the inside information you need to make money betting on the games. Sometimes the best odds can be found earlier in the week rather than later, and this week is no different. Plus, Producer Rob joins the show to help preview Game 1 of the NBA Finals. Is LeBron James feeling the pressure to win his 4th ring? Are we feeling a 2004 Detroit Pistons vibe from this Miami Heat team? Will the Lakers be able to handle the Heat zone defense? Patrick Mahomes is the Steph Curry of the NFL, More Clippers Melodrama & MLB Playoffs preview with sports analytics expert Edward Egros
On today’s episode, Jason explains why Patrick Mahomes’ virtuoso performance against the Baltimore Ravens on Monday Night Football (386 passing yards, 5 total TDs) further cemented his status as the Steph Curry of the NBA. Father was a professional athlete? Check. Under-recruited out of high school? Check. Slipped in the draft? Check. Came out of nowhere to interrupt greatness? Check. Later, Producer Rob joins the show to discuss whether or not last night’s game proves that Lamar Jackson isn’t really an elite NFL quarterback given that he still hasn’t show the ability to win games from behind as a passer, and help make sense of the Los Angeles Clippers decision to fire head coach Doc Rivers. Now that Doc is out of the picture, will Paul George be the next man to go? And, why has Kawhi Leonard been able to escape criticism through all this? Plus, sports analytics expert Edward Egros swings by to help preview the MLB Playoffs from a betting perspective, and he explains why bullpen play is going to play a huge role in determining who wins the World Series, why the data supports the Los Angeles Dodgers being listed as the prohibitive favorites, why you shouldn’t be surprised to see the Cincinnati Reds make a deep postseason run, and much more! NFC West Can Get 4 Teams in the Playoffs, Dak Prescott is Matt Stafford 2.0, NBA Finals Preview
On today’s episode, Jason explains why he could envision a scenario where all 4 of the NFC West teams (Seattle Seahawks, Los Angeles Rams, San Francisco 49ers and Arizona Cardinals) end up making the NFL Playoffs. In fact, you could even make a case that all 4 of the teams are legitimate contenders to make the Super Bowl. Jason also tells us why poor quarterback play has turned the NFC East into the worst division in the League. We all knew Washington’s Dwayne Haskins and the New York Giants’ Daniel Jones were going to be bad, but did anyone foresee Carson Wentz falling off a cliff in Philadelphia or the Dallas Cowboys’ Dak Prescott suddenly morphing into Matt Stafford 2.0? Doubt it. Later, Producer Rob joins the show to help Jason take a look at some of the early betting lines for Week 4 in the NFL, and preview the upcoming NBA Finals matchup between the Los Angeles Lakers and the Miami Heat. LeBron Turns Back the Clock, Way-Too-Early Lakers vs. Heat Finals Preview & NFL conversation with Ian Rapoport
On today’s episode, Jason shares his thoughts on the Los Angeles Lakers Game 4 victory over the Denver Nuggets to take 3-1 series lead in the Western Conference Finals. LeBron James turned back the clocks and delivered another impressive performance when his team needed him most, and he even locked up Nuggets star Jamal Murray in crunch time to help seal the victory. Yes, Father Time looks like he’s hit LeBron with a couple of body blows, but it looks like The King still has enough in the tank to get the Lakers back to the NBA Finals. Later, Producer Rob joins the show to share his thoughts on Game 4, and the guys do a quick preview of the presumptive NBA Finals matchup between the Lakers and the Miami Heat. Plus, NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport swings by to discuss why he was so impressed by Los Angeles Chargers rookie quarterback Justin Herbert in Week 2, explain why Joe Burrow and the Cincinnati Bengals could become must-see TV in the next 2 year, tell us why the Baltimore Ravens could suddenly become the Super Bowl favorites in the eyes of many if they beat the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday, discuss what it feels like to accidentally go viral, and much more! Tua Time in Miami, The Untouchable Tyler Herro & NFL Week 3 Preview with John Middlekauff
On today’s episode, Jason does a quick preview of tonight’s Thursday Night Football matchup between the Miami Dolphins and the Jacksonville Jaguars, and explains why if things go the way he thinks they’re going to go, we could see Dolphins rookie quarterback Tua Tagovailoa under center sooner than later. If the Dolphins are serious about winning, it only makes sense to turn to Tua. As we’ve seen with guys like Patrick Mahomes and Lamar Jackson, the blueprint is simple: Build around your star quarterback while he’s on his rookie contract. Later, Jason throws heavy praise on Miami Heat rookie Tyler Herro after the sharpshooter dropped 37 points to put the Heat up 3-1 in the Eastern Conference Finals, and explain why he wouldn’t include Herro in any trade for Giannis Antetokounmpo this offseason. Plus, former NFL scout and host of the ‘3 & Out’ podcast John Middlekauff swings by to tell us why he thinks Monday night’s game between the Baltimore Ravens and the Kansas City Chiefs is much bigger for the Ravens than it is for the Chiefs, discuss what improvements he’s seen from Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen thus far, explain why he sees little to be optimistic about if you’re a New York Jets fan, and much more! Nuggets Stay Alive, Jamal Murray Has Arrived, NFL Week 3 Gambling Preview

Plus, Jason takes an early look at the Week 3 slate of NFL games from a gambling perspective, and gives you the in-depth information you need to help make money at the betting window this Sunday. Stick a Fork in Drew Brees, Why It's Hard to Trust the Raiders & NBA champion Dahntay Jones
On today's episode, Jason shares his thoughts on the Las Vegas Raiders shocking win over the New Orleans Saints on Monday Night Football, and explains why both the advanced stats and the eye test show that Drew Brees is officially washed up, why the loss of star wide receiver Michael Thomas coupled with Brees' diminished skills has made them extremely predictable, and why the sudden rash of injuries to hit the Raiders' offensive line could be what ultimately dooms their promising start to the season. Plus, NBA champion Dahntay Jones swings by to explain why he has a small bone to pick with guys like Charles Barkley, discuss why he thinks the NBA MVP shouldn't be named until after the Conference Finals, tell us what Tyronn Lue said to LeBron James at halftime of Game 7 of the 2016 NBA Finals, and much more!
