In this Friday morning episode, Alex Kozora and I get right to talking about the Pittsburgh Steelers as they prepare for their Week 3 road game against the New England Patriots. Alex and I start by discussing the Steelers and Patriots' injury reports. We talk about Steelers CB Joey Porter Jr. seemingly being doubtful for Sunday with his hamstring injury and how the status of rookie DT Derrick Harmon making his NFL debut against the Patriots seems questionable entering Friday. We also discuss the knee injury sustained this past week by backup OL Max Scharping and how he'll likely be headed to the Reserve/Injured list soon. Will the Steelers' new practice squad ILB Ja'Whaun Bentley be elevated on Saturday and then play against the Patriots on Sunday? We explain how that seems a little unlikely based on things that have been said this past week. The Patriots are looking to get CB Christian Gonzalez back from his hamstring injury this week so Alex and I discuss his status headed into Friday as well. On Thursday, we heard from two of the Steelers' coordinators, Arthur Smith and Teryl Austin, so Alex and I recap the main talking points to come out of those media sessions. We discuss Austin being fired up about his defense giving up a duplicate explosive passing play for a touchdown in consecutive weeks. We also go over communication comments made by Austin on Thursday and a few other minor things that Smith had to say to the media during his weekly session. September 17, 2025 - Season 16, Episode 25 of The Terrible Podcast is now in the can. In this Wednesday morning episode, Alex Kozora and I get right to talking about the recent transactions that the Pittsburgh Steelers have made that included the signing of veteran ILB Ja'Whaun Bentley to the practice squad. We discuss what Bentley brings to defense and how he could see playing time right away if he is elevated from the practice squad on Saturday. The Steelers' injury report has once again grown some heading into Week 3, so Alex and I go over which players are already out for the Sunday road game against the New England Patriots and which players are currently deemed as being questionable for that contest. The Steelers made several transactions official on Wednesday morning, so Alex and I discuss those moves right after they were announced during our show. We discuss one of those moves being OLB/DL DeMarvin Leal being signed to the 53-man roster from the practice squad and another being DL Isaiahh Loudermilk being placed on the Reserve/Injured list with an ankle issue. Steelers HC Mike Tomlin held his weekly press conference on Tuesday and as usual, Alex and I recap the main talking points that came out of that session. We discuss Tomlin's thoughts on rookie RB Kaleb Johnson remaining on the kickoff return team for the near future. We also discuss the probability of Johnson being inactive on Sunday against the Patriots with it being very plausible that RB Trey Sermon could be elevated from the practice squad on Saturday. Several other talking points from Tuesday are also discussed throughout this show and Alex and I both discuss the hits Steelers QB Aaron Rodgers has taken so far and much, much more. We talk about the big plays of 15 yards or longer that the Steelers’ defense has surrendered so far this season and how the team leads the NFL in that statistical category entering Week 3. September 15, 2025 - Season 16, Episode 24 of The Terrible Podcast is now in the can. In this Monday morning episode, Alex Kozora and I get right to talking about our overarching thoughts on the Pittsburgh Steelers losing at home on Sunday to the Seattle Seahawks. We talk about the few key turning points in the game and how it was a winnable one for the Steelers until the fourth quarter. As part of our Monday Housekeeping segment, which is brought to you by Touring Plans, Alex and I go over the Steelers' Week 2 Sunday inactive list, the practice squad elevation that was made on Saturday, and the players who sustained injuries against the Seahawks. As usual, Alex and I then move forward into recapping the Steelers' Week 2 home loss to the Seahawks. We start on the offensive side of the football with our recap and talk about several individual player performances and that includes the great game that RB Jaylen Warren played. We discuss offensive line play, the turnovers, the drops, overall quarterback play, and much more. Steelers HC Mike Tomlin decided to punt on fourth and short near midfield with the game tied at 14, so Alex and I discuss his decision to do so. As part of our recap of the Steelers' offense from their Week 2 Sunday, Alex and I mix in several key stats and snap counts concerning that unit. We talk about the heavy usage once again of RB Kenneth Gainwell on offense against the Seahawks and the large amount of YAC that there was once again in the passing game. The Steelers' defense did not play well once again on Sunday, outside of a few interceptions. We go over the run defense in the first and second halves against the Seahawks, the explosive runs allowed, and how the pass defense overall took a step backwards in Week 2 despite registering two sacks and two interceptions. The Steelers special teams units did their part to help secure defeat on Sunday, so Alex and I dive into that phase of the team. We discuss the role that STC Danny Smith played into the poor decision made by rookie RB Kaleb Johnson on the kickoff that resulted in a Seahawks touchdown. We also discuss how the Steelers kickoff return unit has underperformed so far through two regular season games. After fully recapping the Steelers' home loss to the Seahawks, Alex and I discuss the Sunday toe injury sustained by Cincinnati Bengals QB Joe Burrow and how he's now likely to miss most of the remaining regular season. Burrow will likely miss both games against the Steelers now and that is a huge development when it comes to the AFC North division race. The big topic coming out of the 2025 preseason finale is the knee injury sustained by rookie DL Derrick Harmon. Alex and I discuss how it sounds like the Steelers dodged a huge bullet with the Harmon injury based on the way he looked when he was carted off the field in the first half.
