November 5, 2025 - Season 16, Episode 46 of The Terrible Podcast is now in the can. In this Wednesday morning episode, Alex Kozora and I get right into talking about the Pittsburgh Steelers not making any deals to acquire additional players on Tuesday, the final day of the NFL's 2025 trade deadline. We go over how hard the Steelers likely tried to trade for a wide receiver on Tuesday and the players they reportedly attempted to deal for. We also talk about the price that a few players ultimately went for in other trades. Overall, Alex and I let it be known that we weren’t surprised that the Steelers didn’t make any trades on Tuesday. Alex and I talk about several of the trades that were made by other teams on Tuesday. The Steelers made a few practice squad transactions on Tuesday, so Alex and I make sure to recap those moves. November 3, 2025 - Season 16, Episode 45 of The Terrible Podcast is now in the can. In this Monday morning episode, Alex Kozora and I get right into our overarching thoughts on the Pittsburgh Steelers' Week 9 Sunday home win against the Indianapolis Colts. In our weekly housekeeping portion of this Monday show, which is sponsored by the fine folks at TouringPlans.com, Alex and I talk about the Sunday inactive list, the few injuries sustained by the Steelers in their 27-20 win against the Colts, and the several transactions the team has made since our Friday show. The Steelers defense played extremely well on Sunday against the Colts as they rebounded following the unit's poor Week 8 showing against the Green Bay Packers. Because of that stellar performance by that unit against the Colts, Alex and I start on that side of the football. Alex and I go over the schematic and personnel changes the Steelers made on defense on Sunday against the Colts that resulted in the unit registering numerous takeaways and five sacks of Colts QB Daniel Jones. We discuss the several big plays made by the defense on Sunday and go over some key stats when it comes to the scheme used. While the Steelers defense was far from perfect on Sunday, the good clearly made a difference in the game. Will the Steelers continue to use Jalen Ramsey and Kyle Dugger as their two starting safeties? We discuss that possibility and go over several snap counts on that side of the football. After thoroughly breaking down the play of the Steelers’ defense on Sunday, Alex and I then discuss the good, bad, and ugly from the offense against the Colts. That unit was able to produce 24 points off of turnovers and even without registering any explosive plays of 20 yards or longer. We talk about how the offense was clunky overall on Sunday but managed to produce three touchdowns just the same. WR Roman Wilson fumbled away the football late in Sunday's game, so we discuss that play. We also discuss some key metrics related to the play of Steelers QB Aaron Rodgers against the Colts. We make sure to highlight the play of TE Darnell Washington, WR Calvin Austin III , and RB Kenneth Gainwell during this show. The Steelers special team units performed well on Sunday, so Alex and I discuss the contributions in that phase of the game. The Steelers’ defense registered another poor showing on Sunday night against the Packers and particularly in the second half. Alex and I spend quite a bit of time breaking down the defensive play against the Packers and how that unit couldn’t get it done against the pass in either man or zone. We talk about the several big plays the defense gave up to the Packers, the quick game used by Green Bay QB Jordan Love, and how TE Tucker Kraft dominated with his yards after the catch. The Steelers defense turned in another poor tackling effort Sunday night against the Packers, so we discuss that subject. We also discuss how the defense’s ability to mostly bottled up the Packers running game certainly wasnt enough. The outlook for the Steelers’ defense moving forward isn’t great, in our opinion, and we explain why. With the Steelers' defense playing a huge part in the team's loss to the Bengals, Alex and I spend a lot of time during this show talking about all of the woes that unit had on Thursday. We address the defense getting run on quite easily, and how Bengals QB Joe Flacco had no problems when it came to attacking either man or zone coverages that he faced. While the Steelers attempted to mix up their defensive coverages Thursday night, that unit still could not prevent WR Ja'Marr Chase from having a big night. We go over the play of CB Jalen Ramsey and how poor it was. We also discuss how Flacco easily used slants to destroy the defense. We also discuss Flacco getting the ball out quickly Thursday night and how the few deep shots he took connected quite easily. As bad as the Steelers defense played Thursday night, the team's offense still gave that unit one final chance to get a stop to win the game. The defense could not accomplish that, and we discuss how easily the Bengals offense moved the football during their final possession for a game-winning field goal. The Steelers offense, outside of the two interceptions thrown by QB Aaron Rodgers, played well overall on Thursday night. We discuss the running game showing more life against the Bengals and TE Pat Freiermuth also wound up having a monster game in a losing effort. The Steelers did have a few questionable play calls and execution errors that we cover during this show and that includes the botched flea-flicker.
