July 23, 2025 - Season 16, Episode 1 of The Terrible Podcast is now in the can. In this Wednesday evening show, Alex Kozora and I get right to discussing the Pittsburgh Steelers reporting to Saint Vincent College in Latrobe, PA earlier in the day for the start of their 2025 training camp. We first discuss the team placing G Isaac Seumalo on the Active/NFI list at the start of training camp with a soft tissue injury. We talk about how he will miss the start of training camp and who is likely to fill in for him at left guard until he is healthy. We talk a little bit about how the Steelers are really a healthy team overall heading into training camp this year. Steelers HC Mike Tomlin talked to the media Wednesday afternoon, so we go over a few key things that he had to say at the start of camp. We focus a lot on what Tomlin had to see about the expected cornerback usage in 2025 when it comes to the top three in that position group, Joey Porter Jr., Jalen Ramsey, and Darius Slay. Steelers GM Omar Khan also had a press conference on Wednesday, so Alex and I parse the main talking points to come out of his media session. There's a lot to recap from Khan when it comes to possible additions moving forward and future contract extensions this summer. We discuss how active Khan has been this offseason with him also keeping a close eye on the 2026 NFL Draft. We go over what he had to say about the decision to trade away S Minkah Fitzpatrick a few weeks ago as well. Fresh off of signing his new contract last week, Steelers OLB T.J. Watt agreed to a three-year, $123 million contract extension on Thursday. As you would expect, Alex and I cover the Watt contract extension from several different angles. The full contract details hit the internet early in this show, so we make sure to go over those thoroughly. We discuss Watt's cap charges, cash flow, guaranteed money, and we also go over how he was the big winner in nearly aspect of his negotiations with the Steelers. July 11, 2025 - Season 15, Episode 159 of The Terrible Podcast is now in the can. In this Friday episode, Ross McCorkle sits in for Alex Kozora, who is taking some well-deserved time off ahead of the Pittsburgh Steelers reporting to Latrobe for the start of their 2025 training camp. Ross and I start this show off by discussing where Steelers DT Cameron Heyward is ranked in the Top 100 Players for 2025. We discuss Heyward's ability to bat down passes and how this year's ranking on the list feels a bit low. We also discuss where Steelers OLB T.J. Watt is likely to land in this year's Top 100 list. We also discuss the probability associated with Watt being traded this summer and how most of the fanbase probably feels about him and his contract situation this offseason. Former Steelers RB Najee Harris, who is now a member of the Los Angeles Chargers, had an unfortunate fireworks accident during the Fourth of July weekend so we make sure to go over that bit of news that surfaced on Thursday. We also discuss the fact that not too much is known concerning the contracts of new CB Jalen Ramsey and TE Jonnu Smith as of Friday morning. Even though Alex is away on this Friday, his latest post about three overlooked players currently on the Steelers roster deserves some attention and review by us. Ross and I go over the three players that Alex listed in that post and then we attempt to build it out by two more players. In the middle of this show, I sort of ambush Ross a little bit with a passing stat prediction exercise for the Steelers' 2025 season. I start with getting Ross' 2025 stat predictions for the top five wide receivers. From there, I get Ross to throw out his 2025 passing stat prediction for Steelers QB Aaron Rodgers. We then subtract the wide receiver stat predictions from his Rodgers' prediction and go over what would presumably be left over for the Steelers tight ends and running backs in 2025. Overall, this exercise produces a little bit of eye-opening and should result in some level of pushback from the listeners. It's a great exercise to conduct at this point of the offseason and I will let Ross revise his numbers for Alex and I to go over during Monday's show. Based on the Friday stat exercise, it certainly seems less than likely that the Steelers will add another notable wide receiver to their roster this offseason. Near the end of this Friday show, Ross and I discuss the plausibility and probability related to the Steelers possible signing veteran free agent safety Justin Simmons this offseason. That discussion is a result of a few things that Simmons said about his future during a recent interview from this past week. This comes on the heels of Alex and Josh Carney discussing that news on the Friday show. This time I give my thoughts on the decision to extend Khan, and we go over how he should be graded so far in his short tenure and what should be expected out of him these next two seasons. After having a lengthy talk about Khan's career to date and his extension news, Alex and I go over his recent grading of all the big decisions and moves the Steelers have made so far this offseason. We grade the team trading for WR DK Metcalf, the trading away of WR George Pickens, the selection of DT Derrick Harmon in the first round, the addition and process of signing QB Aaron Rodgers, and the big trade that was recently made between the Steelers and the Miami Dolphins. While Alex and I are close when it comes to our grading of those several offseason moves, we do differ slightly on a few of them and especially when it comes to the Steelers trading away Pickens.
