In this Wednesday show, Alex Kozora and I get right to talking about the Pittsburgh Steelers as they enter the middle of Week 15 and their upcoming Saturday road game against the Indianapolis Colts. We go over the Steelers Week 15 injury report heading into Wednesday with that focus being mainly on outside linebackers T.J. Watt and Alex Highsmith, who are both still in concussion protocol. Steelers quarterbacks Mitch Trubisky and Mason Rudolph both talked to the media on Tuesday, so we go over the few talking points to come out of those sessions. The Steelers sustained several injuries during their Sunday loss to the Cardinals with the most notable one being QB Kenny Pickett. We go over his status as of Monday afternoon, the surgery he reportedly had and when he might be able to resume playing. We also address the several other Steelers players that were injured during Sunday's game. The Steelers have a new practice squad quarterback as of Monday, so we update that news. Alex and I then get busy recapping the Steelers Sunday loss to the Cardinals. We spend a lot of time talking about the play of the defense first. We go over the 99-yard touchdown drive the defense allowed and talk quite a bit about the play of several individual players on that side of the football. In this Wednesday morning show, Alex and I get right to talking about the breaking news concerning Cleveland Browns QB Deshaun Watson being shut down for the remainder of the 2023 season due to a shoulder injury. The Pittsburgh Steelers will play the Browns on Sunday in Cleveland so the Watson news will result in the Browns playing either Dorian Thompson-Robinson or P.J. Walker at quarterback. It sounds like the Browns’ starter might be Thompson-Robinson, according to some breaking news during this show. The Steelers have made quite a few transactions since our last show, so Alex and I roll through recapping those moves. We talk about TE Pat Freiermuth potentially returning to action on Sunday and wonder if S Minkah Fitzpatrick might be able to return from his hamstring injury as well.
