In this Monday morning episode, Alex Kozora and I get right to discussing the four Divisional Round playoff games that were played over the weekend. We discuss our main takeaways from those games. All four remaining teams in the playoffs this year have franchise-type quarterbacks, so we go over that aspect and how it relates to the Pittsburgh Steelers. We go over the fact that the Steelers are unlikely to land a franchise quarterback in the 2025 NFL Draft and how the team is more than likely to move forward in the short-term with QB Justin Fields if they can get him re-signed. The Steelers have re-signed RB Jonathan Ward to a Reserve/Future contract as of Monday morning, so Alex and I go over that news. Alex and I have a long conservation about whether the Steelers should highly consider moving on from Tomlin and possibly reshaping the front office as well. January 5, 2025 - Season 15, Episode 74 of The Terrible Podcast is now in the can. In this Sunday morning episode, Alex Kozora and I get right into talking about the Pittsburgh Steelers' Saturday night home loss to the Cincinnati Bengals that resulted in the team limping into the playoffs with a four-game losing streak. We start this show by going over how the loss to the Bengals was actually a winnable game on the final drive and how the Steelers' offense blew that opportunity. Alex and I go over the inactive list from the Saturday night game that included Steelers CB Donte Jackson missing the contest with his back injury. We discuss two defensive linemen being healthy scratches for the game so that OLB Preston Smith could get a helmet. We also quickly go over the few injuries the Steelers had during the Saturday night loss. Alex and I go over several key stats from the Steelers' Saturday night loss to the Bengals and a few stats related to the history of the franchise as a result of the team losing their final four games. As usual, Alex and I start breaking down the game and we start on the offensive side of the football. We discuss the failures in short-yardage situations, the play of QB Russell Wilson, the poor game that WR George Pickens played and much more. December 26, 2024 - Season 15, Episode 70 of The Terrible Podcast is now in the can. In this Thursday morning episode, Alex Kozora and I get right into talking about the Pittsburgh Steelers' Wednesday home loss to the Kansas City Chiefs and where the team sits currently in the AFC playoff picture. Wednesday's game, on the heels of the Steelers' previous two games, was certainly very depressing and we hit on that early in this show and how the same problems keep showing up these last several weeks. Alex and I go over the pregame inactive list from Wednesday and discuss the decision that was made to sit OLB Preston Smith. We also discuss DT Cameron Heyward getting dinged up with a minor injury during Wednesday’s loss. With the housekeeping out of the way, Alex and I dive into breaking down the Wednesday loss to the Chiefs. We start on the defensive side of the football and discuss the blown coverages, miscommunication, big plays in the game and much more. As part of that, we discuss what several Steelers' defensive players had to say after the game and most notably what S DeShon Elliott said. After tearing through the defensive play from Wednesday, Alex and I move over to the offensive side of the football. We discuss the early interception that QB Russell Wilson threw.
