Zack Friedman- The Lemonade Life
"Zack Friedman has inspired millions with his powerful insights, including more than fourteen million who have read his advice in Forbes. In his groundbreaking new book, The Lemonade Life, Friedman starts with a fundamental question: What drives success? It’s not only hard work, talent, and skill. The most successful people have one thing in common, the power to flip five internal “switches.” We all have these five switches, and when activated, they are the secret to fuel success, create happiness, and conquer anything."

ISTE: Inspiration Or Skills?
I go to ISTE every three years or so. But in my visits, and talking to several teachers, I've heard many remark that large conferences are more "inspiration" and less actual tactics. I also hear from MANY teachers that the best part of large summer conferences is the opportunity to talk to other teachers. So... why the sit-and-get "motivational" presentations and panels?

72 Hours W Students Opened My Eyes: And Changed Perspectives
I took a group of 16 young entrepreneurs to Austin to learn from companies like Google and Dell in, and then work with the city of San Antonio and CAST Tech. Here is how they changed perspectives and made others re-examine Gen Z.

Embrace YOUR Stairway
"If you take the elevator to the top, make sure you send it back down for us." I've heard this line several times, but I have mixed opinions on the meaning. I would rather people find their own stairs.

Have Your Student Find The Balance
The "Hustle & Grind" mentality can be useful, but too often times hurtful. The body positivity can also have its benefits as well as problems. These two cultural movements need to center themselves.

Crucial Conversations: Digital Badging
Today's Crucial Conversation guest was Noah Geisel. We've followed each other on Twitter for years and when we finally got to meet in person for the first time in January, we really hit it off. Noah is also a big believer in entrepreneurial spirit, taking advantage of opportunities, empowering youth, and making a difference in the world. He's also a kindred spirit in taking on a lot of commitments. One of those that we spoke about is the 2019 Badge Summit, an all-day conference dedicated to learning and sharing about Digital Badge Credentials. It's June 22nd (the day before ISTE) in Philadelphia on the campus of Temple University. We talked about the conference, who attends and what people can expect to take away (spoiler: inspiration, connections, exemplars). This led us on a winding conversation about skills and hiring and what really matters. Noah currently teachers Digital Media & Learning at University of Colorado Denver. A career-long Spanish teacher, he also co-hosts the MFLTwitterati podcast about technology and language learning. He supports teachers with professional development and consults in Human Centered Design and Digital Badge Credentials. Dad Jokes, Kevin Hart & "Cool Insults"

Crucial Conversations: We Have a Guest Teacher?!
