Of course, sometimes passive listening is okay too, but if we really want to get the most out it, more intense focus is necessary. Consistent and persistent listening is the most important factor in language learning. In other words, input is king! However, most language learners give up too early because they "can't understand anything they hear." This is a huge mistake in that it massively decreases the language input they are getting.
