Feel them soften as you focus on them lying on your bed. Imagine warm, soothing water flowing into your feet, Relaxing every muscle and melting you deeper. PAUSE… Feel the tension melting away, As your feet slowly part, And soften with relaxation. LONG PAUSE… Now bring your attention to your legs. Feel the muscles loosening and relaxing, Imagining water gently pouring over them, And melting deeper into your bed. PAUSE… All is quiet, All is clear, Melt even further, Into the night, my dear. LONG PAUSE… Now, bring your attention onto your lower back. Feel the muscles in your lower back softening and releasing tension. Allow the warm, soothing water to flow over you, Melting your body, Clearing your mind. LONG PAUSE… Now bring your attention to your belly and chest. Feeling the water softly pour over you, Loosening, softening, and melting you. PAUSE… Sink deeper into relaxation. LONG PAUSE… Come into your arms. Feel the muscles softening, loosening, and releasing. As the gentle, warm water covers them, And melts you further into the night. LONG PAUSE… Bring your attention to your neck and head. Feeling the calm wash over them, Softening you face, And relaxing every single fiber, As you melt and relax, Soften and release. LONG PAUSE… Your entire body is soft and smooth, Melted deep into the night, Floating away into your dreams, As you surrender to deep sleep. As the last rays of sunlight disappeared into the murky blue waters above, the giant creatures began to stir. The oldest and wisest whale was named Taleen. Her smooth, gray body glided effortlessly through the water as she made her way toward the gathering area. She sang out in long, low tones to call the other whales to her. One by one, the giant mammals emerged from the shadows—humpbacks and blues, fins and rights—their haunting whale songs echoing through the darkness. When all the whales had arrived, Taleen raised her massive tail fluke, signaling the start of their nightly ritual. As one, the pod opened their mouths and began to vocalize—first low rumbles, then high-pitched cries, then a chorus of clicks, whistles, trills and pulses. Each whale added their unique voice to the strange and beautiful whale song. The purpose of the song was not understood by human scientists, who marveled at the intricate and ever-changing music that rippled across the world's oceans each night. But the whales knew. They sang to share news, to bond with their pod-mates, to navigate the lightless ocean depths. LONG PAUSE Now, draw in another breath, and trace its path as it opens and relaxes any tension in your body. LONG PAUSE Imagine yourself walking on a city sidewalk in the cool of the evening, in a city full of life. PAUSE And, as you walk along the sidewalk, you notice lights all around you, lights full of colors, pulsing in the night air. PAUSE And along your walk, you pass people sitting at an outdoor cafe, laughing, eating, and sipping cappuccino. PAUSE You give the people a smile and a gesture of “hello.” And the people smile in return and nod to you as you pass by. PAUSE Now, imagine something in the sky that catches your attention– lights and colors from fireworks burst across the sky. PAUSE You stop for a moment and take in the magic of the beautiful flowery shapes that open then cascade from the sky. PAUSE You look around at the people who “Oooh” and “Awww” in pure joy as each firework blossoms, one right after the other. PAUSE Then you continue along your walk, until you reach a bookstore, open and alive with people of the night. PAUSE You enter the bookstore and listen as a young couple reads poetry to each other, eyes smiling with love. PAUSE Your eye catches an older man, with a beard and black glasses, cozied up in a big, fluffy chair, turning the pages of a philosophy book. PAUSE And as you walk deeper into the store, you notice the shelves and shelves of books– books of all colors, shapes, and sizes. PAUSE While looking at the books, you pass a row where one book stands out, where one book calls to you. PAUSE You go to the book and remove it from the shelf. The book feels comfortable, familiar, so you open it. PAUSE As you look at the page, words pop out. They twist and turn until they form a message of encouragement just for you. What do those words say? PAUSE You pull the book to your heart and listen, as your mind whispers, the message again and again, until the message is nestled into your heart and mind. PAUSE And then, after a moment, you close the book and quietly thank it for the message, as you gently place it on the shelf. PAUSE Then you leave the bookstore and begin walking again. The cool air kisses your cheeks and you draw a sweater in tight. PAUSE You walk to another cafe where people laugh, eat, and sip cappuccino. And you order something to warm you inside, something you swirl, as the steam climbs from the cup. PAUSE While seated at the cafe, you pull out a pen and jot the encouraging words on a napkin. Then tuck the napkin in a pocket. PAUSE You sip your warm drink and put your hand on the napkin. And as the warmth from your drink spreads through you, so do the words on the napkin. They become part of you. PAUSE You draw in a deep breath, take one more sip of your drink, and then walk away in the night, knowing the words from the book are now your words of truth. LONG PAUSE… Now feel the texture of the ground beneath your feet. The cool damp grass, Or the warmth of the paved neighborhood road, Or the softness of the Earth. PAUSE… Feel the gentle breeze brush upon your skin, And your hands glide upon your clothes, As you relax deeper and deeper. LONG PAUSE… Now notice the scents of the night. The sweet aroma of the flowers, The smell of rain upon the road, The fragrance of dinner escaping from the homes. PAUSE… Breathe it all in, And let it warm you, And relax you. LONG PAUSE… Now imagine yourself opening your mouth, And becoming aware of what you taste. The sweet crispness of the night air, The memories of the food you can still taste, The dryness or wetness of the air as it dances with your tongue. She twinkled brightly amongst her fellow stars, glowing with a soft, silvery light. Though small, Misty's shine could be seen for miles across the sleepy countryside below. Each night, as the sun slipped below the horizon, Misty would begin to twinkle. She loved watching the world slowly drift off to sleep. The first to fall asleep were always the little farm animals in the fields and barns. The cows, horses, sheep, and chickens would snuggle into their beds of hay, tuck their heads down, and let out big, sleepy sighs. Misty would blink her light gently over them like a nightlight, singing a soft twinkling lullaby. Next to fall under Misty's sleepy spell were the wild creatures of the forest and meadows. Owls would stop their hooting, bears would lumber back to their dens, rabbits would hop slowly to their burrows, and deer would nestle down in the soft forest underbrush. Misty's twinkling glow and melodic lullaby would soothe them all into slumber. Finally, the families living in the little farm houses dotted across the land would start to settle in for the night. Parents would tuck their children snugly into bed, place sweet kisses on their little foreheads, and tip-toe from the rooms. Then Misty would beam her gentlest, warmest light over the farmhouses, twinkling in time with her lullaby. Feel the deep pulse, Of the divine, Flowing wild and free. PAUSE… The warmth from her trunk, The love from her leaves, Invite me to tune deeply in. I close my eyes shut, My body is raw, My mind is clear from within. PAUSE… The music I hear, The magic I feel, Emanates from her at the core. It’s all beautiful love, No worries, no stress, Peace like I’ve never felt before. PAUSE… Breathe and tune in, To the universal truth, We’re love and energy. Breathe and just feel, It all vibrate now, All life exists in a tree. LONG PAUSE… You gently release, And let the tears fall, You see with brand new eyes. The wonder, the joy, The sadness and pain, Everything lives and then dies. PAUSE… Now you can see, The attachments and stress, Are not worth holding onto. You can let love, Flow endlessly through, And brighten all around you. PAUSE… You look at the tree, And see her deep love, And know you’re sisters now. You hug her again, And feel your heart fill, You make a magnificent vow. PAUSE… I am magic, I am love, I am deeply Divine. All that’s around me, Is also of god, I’m part of Universal design. PAUSE… No longer will I cower, No longer will I fear, No longer will I live my life small. I’m here to give love, In small and big ways, The tree of life is in us all. A light that casts hues of rose, orange and purple all across the beautiful blackness, like a magical sunrise. PAUSE And the colors become more vivid, before giving way to a sparkling sun that peeks over the horizon. PAUSE The sun continues its ascent, casting amber rays across any trace of darkness, and lighting up a grassy savanna for you to see. PAUSE As you stand at the edge of this flowing grassland, this African savannah, you notice a tree in the distance, a brown, spindly-arm tree. PAUSE And so you walk toward the tree through the tall, golden stalks of grass that whisper your name as they bend in the breeze. PAUSE And as you approach the tree, you notice a lion, calm and relaxed, sitting next to the tree and nodding for you to come closer. PAUSE When you near the tree, the lion raises his mighty paw, honoring the strength he sees within you. PAUSE A smile forms on your face, and you nod at the lion, placing your hand against Brother Lion’s paw. PAUSE Breathe in, and hold your hand strong, as it touches the lion’s cushiony paw, where you can feel strength flowing between you, steady and strong. PAUSE As you bid Brother Lion “goodbye,” you walk through the savanna grass again, hearing it whisper “Strength, strength, strength” with every step. PAUSE Now, imagine seeing a zebra in the distance, black and white against the yellowy grass. A zebra that beckons you to move closer. PAUSE As you near the zebra, she nods and smiles at you, then kicks up on her hind legs and brays with joy. PAUSE Now, take a moment and visualize folding your hands in “Namaste” to Sister Zebra's free spirit. PAUSE And when the zebra draws close, you hold her face in your hands, and look eye-to-eye with her. PAUSE Together, you and Sister Zebra feel the freedom flowing between you, steady and strong. PAUSE And as you bid Sister Zebra “goodbye,” you walk through the savanna grass again, hearing it whisper “Free, free, free” with every step. PAUSE Now take a moment and visualize a giraffe in the distance, tall and majestic, rising above the savanna grass. A giraffe that Invites you to move closer. PAUSE As you near the giraffe, he nods and bends down, softly smiling, nuzzling his gentle face against yours. PAUSE And as you stroke the giraffe’s long neck, he licks your face with a long, warm tongue. PAUSE And, while you touch Brother Giraffe, you feel the kindness flowing between you steady and strong. PAUSE You bid Brother Giraffe “goodbye,” and walk through the savanna grass again, hearing it whisper “Kind, kind, kind” with every step. PAUSE As you keep walking through the savanna grass, the sun kisses your face, and peace and joy flow through you. PAUSE A breeze carrying the sun’s warmth brushes by you, and changes the whispers of the savanna grass. PAUSE With each step you take, you breathe in peace and listen to the whispers in the grass. PAUSE… Take a deep breath in, and as you exhale, let go of any tension or worries from the day. Allow your body and mind to gently release any tension, and bring your awareness to the present moment. PAUSE… Now, see if you can recall a recent experience where you felt disappointed. It could be a disappointment in yourself, others, or a situation. Allow yourself to fully acknowledge and feel the disappointment, without judgment or resistance. Notice where you feel it in your body, and gently breathe into that area, allowing it to soften. LONG PAUSE… As you breathe, imagine that with each inhale, you are inhaling soothing and healing energy, and with each exhale, you are releasing disappointment and any related emotions. Breathe in peace, and breathe out disappointment. PAUSE… Now, bring to mind any expectations or attachments that you had in relation to the situation that led to disappointment. Notice if there were any rigid expectations, unrealistic demands, or attachments to outcomes. Without judgment, simply observe them as they arise, and offer yourself compassion for holding onto these expectations. LONG PAUSE… Visualize yourself holding these expectations in your hands, and then gently release them, letting them float away like clouds in the sky. Allow yourself to let go of any need for things to be different, and simply be present with what is, without resistance or grasping. PAUSE… As you continue to breathe, imagine a warm, healing light enveloping you, comforting and nurturing you. Allow this healing light to fill any spaces within you that were occupied by disappointment, soothing and calming those areas with love and acceptance. PAUSE… Now, bring to mind any forgiveness that may be needed. Forgiveness towards yourself or others involved in the situation that led to disappointment. Offer yourself and others forgiveness, knowing that everyone makes mistakes and has their own challenges. Allow forgiveness to flow freely, releasing any lingering resentment or bitterness. LONG PAUSE… Take a few moments to simply rest in this space of letting go, Of surrendering to the present moment, and of cultivating self-compassion and forgiveness. Let go of the past, and be fully present in this moment, knowing that you have the power to release disappointment and create a fresh start. LONG PAUSE… As you prepare to drift off to sleep, allow these words to embrace your heart. I release disappointment and embrace the present moment with love and acceptance. I am worthy of forgiveness and compassion. You are deserving of peace and healing. PAUSE… Now, as you slowly begin to drift into sleep, carry with you a sense of lightness and freedom from disappointment. Release any remaining tension in your body, and surrender to the gentle rhythm of your breath, The gentle rhythm of the night. Full of peace, And love. As he settled in for the night, he let out a big yawn. Ruben was exhausted after a long day of work and was looking forward to drifting off to sleep. As his eyelids grew heavy, Ruben's thoughts wandered to the dance class he had started taking recently. Ever since he was a little boy, Ruben had loved to dance. He would make up lively routines in his room to his favorite songs. His family would laugh and cheer as Ruben leapt and twirled around the living room. Now as an adult, Ruben had finally gotten the courage to take formal dance lessons. He signed up for a ballroom dancing class that met once a week at the local community center. Although he was nervous at first, Ruben quickly realized he had a natural talent for waltzing, foxtrotting and even the spicy salsa. He loved learning the intricate steps and feeling the rhythm flow through his body. Ruben's absolute favorite part of class was when the instructor would dim the lights and turn on some slow dreamy music. "Now dance with your imagination," she would instruct. Ruben would close his eyes and envision himself dancing in a grand marble hall amidst twirling gowns and dazzling chandeliers. LONG PAUSE Find the position that is right for you. And lets you melt into your bed Sinking slowly into it As you become one with it. PAUSE Then gradually inhale another breath, A breath of peace and calm, A breath that touches any area of tension in your body. And softens that area as you let go. Her mind kept racing with thoughts about work, family, and all her responsibilities. She tossed and turned, wishing she could quiet her busy mind. As Faith stared up at the ceiling fan going round and round, she noticed something strange. The fan blades seemed to be slowing down, moving slower and slower until they appeared completely still. "How odd," Faith thought. She blinked her eyes hard, thinking they must be playing tricks on her. But when she opened them again, the fan was still frozen in place. With each exhale, Let go of stress, There is peace inside, In large excess. PAUSE… Scan your whole body, From head to toe. When you find the tension, Just let it go. With each inhale, Invite in light, Dissolve the darkness, That lingers tonight. PAUSE… Breathe… And release the pressure you hold. Breathe… You’re beautiful, perfect and whole. LONG PAUSE… Come inside, And clear your mind. Let go of those thoughts, That squeeze and bind. PAUSE… Come inside, And let yourself feel, The stillness that’s here, So you can be healed. PAUSE… The pressures you feel, The details orchestrated. Will dissolve when you realize, They’re way too overrated. PAUSE… I promise the world, Won’t stop if you do. I promise that it all, Isn’t reliant upon you. PAUSE… Imagine a balloon, Tightly stretched and filled, Finally releases air, The pressure has been killed. PAUSE… Breathe… And release the pressure you hold. Breathe… You’re beautiful, perfect and whole. LONG PAUSE… Take notice of your body, Your head down to your feet.
