Hailing from London’s illegal warehouse party scene that exploded in the 90’s, DJ & producer D.A.V.E. The Drummer started the label Hydraulix in 1998 as an output for his own production ideas. Tracks from Hydraulix have found their way into the playlists of some of the worlds top DJs as well as keeping a huge following of underground Techno DJs across the globe.D.A.V.E’s recent music reflects a shift toward a darker stripped back techno sound and the label is still at the forefront of the techno scene winning respect from many DJs and taking on board fresh young artists as well as releasing tracks by seasoned Hydraulix regulars. #SlamRadio - 441 - DJ T-1000

ALAN OLDHAM has been called “Detroit’s Renaissance Man,” equally as known for his art as for his music under the pseudonym DJ T-1000. The Detroit-born polymath, now living and working in Berlin, began his dual careers in the late 80s. First as the host of the “Fast Forward Program” on WDET FM 101.9, Detroit’s first-ever radio show devoted exclusively to electronic music, and as a young indie comic artist, writing and drawing his own original creation, “Johnny Gambit” (predating the Marvel character). Oldham was later tapped by his childhood friend, Derrick May, to illustrate the label art for the record, “Nude Photo,” on the fledgling Transmat label, and Detroit Techno history was made. Oldham was later hired by another childhood friend, Jeff Mills, to do PR for the nascent Underground Resistance collective, writing press releases for the label. When Mills departed for a solo career, partner “Mad” Mike Banks tapped AO to replace him as DJ for their Australian Tour of 1992, and the codename DJ T-1000 was adopted. Jumpstart to infamy. Since then, as an international DJ, Oldham has spun all over the planet, as far afield as Manila, The Phillipines, and Shanghai, China. When he’s not behind the decks at home clubs Tresor Berlin and Suicide Circus (Berlin), on the road or in the studio making music for BPitch Control, Suspected Music, Third Ear, Elypsia Records, or his own Pure Sonik Records label, he is making new paintings and organizing art openings showcasing his iconic works. Oldham has put on art happenings in Amsterdam, Paris, Berlin, Vienna, and Detroit, as well as his works being currently on view at the Design Museum in London, as part of its “Electronic: From Kraftwerk to the Chemical Brothers” exhibit. On the graphic novel side, he has also worked on the Afrofuturist classic “The Book of Drexciya, Vol 1.” Oldham is keeping busy during the current pandemic, drawing and painting, doing commission work, online teaching for RAMP Academy, making new music and remixing with MASCHINE MK3 and ABLETON, and generally moving forward in one of the world’s most creative cities, Berlin. #SlamRadio - 431 - Rene Wise

Andrew Shobeiri AKA @renewise flaunts an artistic flair rare for his years. Possessing an uncanny ability to create a sound that fuses hip-shak-ing grooves with a raw but modern touch, Wise breeds a deep sense of knowledge and maturity beyond what you’d expect for an artist of his age. His ear for infectious rhythm derives from a love of classic 90’s era techno, always being drawn to the relentless energy felt in the faster tempos. These influences can be heard throughout his productions and selections as a DJ, winning him a growing fanbase of peers and music lovers alike. 2018 saw the UK-born DJ/producer leaving a strong impression. #SlamRadio - 430 - Parallel Circuit

Parallel Circuits has been organising nights for over 7 years now in Belgium and is known as being the founder of VOLTAGE label as well as being the booker at Fuse. He’s happy that he’s been getting a lot of respect in his local techno community as he always made a big point of pushing local talent both through events and his VOLTAGE Imprint as well as his previous labels Form and Function (which has halted now). 2020 was supposed to be a big year for him personally with his first international gigs as well as for his Festival as it was gaining a lot of international traction thanks to it's location, solid organisation and line-up. He has multiple showcases on the horizon and the festival was moving towards a sold out event with people coming from all over the world. Recently he’s been very busy with the label, the next release will be by Voiski & Hadone, coming out on all platforms on the 18.02. He’s responsible for doing the A&R side of the label as well as curating the festival line-up. There's a lot more releases coming out in 2021 as the label is going to step it up a notch. As always they will be releasing a lot of new up and coming artists, both from Belgium and abroad, of whom some are included in this mix. For VOLTAGE they're looking forward to having parties returning to our lives as they have a bigger edition of the festival planned in 2021, alongside numerous showcases around the world with the label. Lastly he really hopes the clubs can open up again as he has some big plans with Fuse, upgrading the clubs sound system and lights. #SlamRadio - 429 - Gaetano Parisio

Gaetano Parisio, is one of the most consistent artists in techno, releasing records since the 90s that remain staples in every respectable DJ’s record box. Co-creator of the Neapolitan Techno School, he is now prepared to present a GAETEK LIVE and ORIGENS. Starting as Gaetek, Gaetano (from Napoli, Italy) released a flurry of classics on labels like Planet Rhythm and Primate Recordings, records that were immediately elevated into regular rotation by icons like Dave Clarke, Sven Vath and even Jeff Mills himself. He soon launched his first label, CONFORM, which quickly became a beacon for the Napolitano techno scene for which Parisio and Marco Carola were now torchbearers. They became fixtures at the world’s best clubs and festivals with a four-turntable/two-mixer set-up that left crowds screaming for more while their studio work together lead them to befriended like-minded artists like Adam Beyer, Ben Sims, and The Advent, all of whom released music on Conform. During the same time, Gaetano brought the techno scene together on a charity compilation, Techcommunity 4 Kosovo, to aid the children of war-torn Kosovo—a rare and shocking flare-up of violence within the relatively peaceful boundaries of modern Europe. If Conform was about community, Gaetano’s next label, ART (Advanced Techno Research), was a one-man affair that issued a series of nine limited-edition, precision-crafted, two-track singles, over the span of two years. He continued the conceptual approach to production with the book-inspired Chapter series, released on his new SOUTHSOUL label, which introduced a deep house-flavored techno sound that was eagerly endorsed by DJs of all stripes. Next came the five-part ADAGIO series of minimal tracks (on the label of the same name), which continued Gaetano’s evolution as a producer at the same time techno was reinventing itself for the new Millennium. In 2007, Gaetano took a step away from the frenetic life of an international DJ. During that time, he continued recording hundreds of tracks for the pleasure of the music intelligentsia, only. In 2017, he moved to Barcelona, Spain and set-up a new studio where he produced brand new music with several collaborators that will be revealed shortly. He also republished the back catalogs of his labels (this time in digital format, too), setting the stage for the new GAETEK LIVE and ORIGENS (a three turntables dj set just as he used to play in the beginning of his career) intended to introduce his 25-year-plus music career to techno’s next generation. #SlamRadio - 428 - LDS

@ldstechno aka Luca lives in Stuttgart, Germany. For a couple of years he has been focusing on producing fast techno. His last record on Monnom Black was the latest result of this mission. He always tries to give his music a conceptual frame. For the last year this frame has been the area around the digital developments and achievements in our world. His affection for synthesizers has therefore turned from his initial enthusiasm for old analogue synthesizers to a purely digital way of working and by that he means explicitly: FM synthesis! Even though you might not hear it in his music, he is a huge Autechre fan and their music is everything that excites him about Art: it is an explicit vision of a new modern world! Music that sounds so technological. #SlamRadio - 425 - Detroit In Effect

@detroitineffect contributes to @soma's electro sub-label @avoidantrecords V/A. Listen here=> https://avoidant.fanlink.to/defendyourplanet Dj Maaco started as a drummer at age 6 playing for a small church, by age 12 he dropped the sticks and got himself a cardboard and started break dancing! By 14, he was drawing turntables and mixers on his cardboard boxes and pretending as if he was rocking parties. He talked his dad into buying him his very first mixer from Radio Shack, he himself bought a Mcdonald turntable for 35 bucks with the 8 track tape player built in. He rigged it to his mixer and from that he learned how to mix and scratch. AT age 16 Kool Keith(Tucker) showed him an 808, Juno 106, and some other stuff. Keith then pulled out shoeboxes of cassette tapes to let him hear stuff he had been working on. DJ Maaco afterwards bought himself a keyboard and started making music. His first release was in 1992, with a group called “One Nation” and he later hooked up with DJ PDOG and together they formed M.A.P. Records. They put out stuff on their own label as Detroit In Effect. They later hooked up with SERGE of CLONE Records and have since then played numerous times in Europe and the U.K. DJ Maaco has created raw, insistent electro music that moves bodies…. There aren’t many who can resist the rhythms and hooks that he throws down and the attitude he has brought represents that ghetto groove in its purest unfiltered form. With a long history of musical appreciation and creation with influences springing from Gospel through Hip Hop to Techno and Miami Bass, Detroit In Effect bring it like so few can. Irresistible music with enough dirt to satisfy the sleaziest party animal or clarity of tone to inspire the most informed minds. #SlamRadio - 422 - Eva Swan

Eva Swan has a strong foundation in music, having started to learn music theory at the age of 8, along with the guitar and flute by the age of 12, before the piano later at 18. Eva Swan’s entry point into electronic music came through working in clubs such as Belgium’s famous Café d’Anvers and Kompass Club, along with EGG London, before taking a one-way flight to Ibiza. As a promoter on the white isle, Eva Swan became immersed in the scene, becoming well-acquainted with clubs, DJ’s and the variation of sounds around her, accelerating her propensity for club-geared sounds. Teaming this with her early proficiency for classical forms and instruments, Eva’s sound encompasses a distinct appreciation for raw music elements. Having appeared on line-ups at venues such as the previously mentioned, Café d’Anvers Antwerp, and Fuse Brussels, alongside the likes of I HATE MODELS, Amelie Lens, Deborah De Luca and OXIA, ‘Equality’, Eva Swan’s 2019 debut EP paved the way for her ascension into electronic music – gaining media support from Mixmag, Complex, Attack Magazine, KALTBLUT and Soundwall. #SlamRadio - 420 - Lokier

An emerging talent of prominence hailing from Mexico, Lokier, as a DJ & producer is cutting a stream into the estuaries of techno, industrial, EBM and electro afixed with trance, new wave, and its denounced varieties. While running the gamut of Berlin’s underground, from off-location raves to Berghain and Tresor, and with a recent inclusion as a resident to Revier Südost (former Griessmuehle). Her breech into the European circuit, although clandestine, has seen gain familiarity. Lokier has also been in several parts of the world including North America, Europe, Asia, and South America. Her tracks over the years have made their way to the edit pits of Mick Wills, Solar’s giallo horror platform Squirrels on Film, to aufnahme + wiedergabe and Sacred Bones with a remix of The Soft Moon. Light Strike, the new record label from Lokier is a platform to showcase the artists vision and unfiltered expression, with the first release coming from herself. Amid the regalia of gothic, and post-industrial music, Lokier’s plunge into the deeper esoterics of this sound only adds a fresh and inspired ethos to her work, aesthetic and vision. #SlamRadio - 419 - Shed

It’s almost ironic that since the release of his landmark debut album, 2008’s Shedding the Past, German producer Rene Pawlowitz (a.k.a. Shed) has been viewed a savior of modern techno. His music is wildly unpredictable and doesn’t quite mesh with the genre’s obsession with rigid structure and functionalism. Held up as one of the cornerstones of the world-famous Berlin scene, Pawlowitz clashes sharply with the city’s obsession with dark, steely techno and bright tech-house grooves. Shed’s musical vision is unaffected by the poisonous purism or close-mindedness that so often lurks in local scenes, especially one as long-established as Berlin’s unparalleled techno community. Instead, his music is colored by a distinct and ravenous hunger for the new and unexplored. Reflecting that hunger, Pawlowitz is uncommonly prolific: On top of nearly 20 releases as Shed, Pawlowitz has also made dancefloor-destroying singles as WAX and Equalized, and has explored a dubbier side as STP and Panamax Project. #SlamRadio - 409 - NYCTA 1989-1991 (Adam X and Function)

TRACKLIST=> bit.ly/SlamRadioGroup NYCTA is a project Adam X and Function have been pulling together, with many obstacles along the way, over the course of the last 10 years and this mix captures the essence of what they set out to achieve. It pays total homage to the sound and it's a sound that, in a scene where everything has already been largely reissued, hasn't had a light shone on it yet. Nugroove, yes. But this is much more than that. Though not overlooked in the history of electronic music when it comes to the early days of electro, hip hop and disco, New York City has been largely overlooked in it's contributions to the origins of techno and house music in America, while the cities of Detroit & Chicago have always taken most of the credit. Names like Joey Beltram, Frankie Bones, Lenny Dee, Tommy Musto, How & Little, Mundo Muzique, Damon Wild, Todd Terry, Kenny Dope, Ralphie Dee, Jimmy Crash, Rheji Burrell, Bobby Konders, Roger S, Blue Jean, L.B. Bad and of course Adam X were as instrumental in bringing both genres forward as the artists from the aforementioned cities. #SlamRadio - 407 - Voicedrone b2b James Newmarch

As FOLD was building its reputation as a new 24 hour London club, behind the scenes a community was growing. A core crowd was emerging, being brought together weekend after weekend, building and solidifying close bonds on the dark sweaty dance floor. Lasha Jorjoliani aka Voicedrone and James Newmarch the venue’s co-creator and technical wiz respectively became the driving force for UNFOLD; a haven made for this fiercely loyal and diverse crowd. UNFOLD places the DJ booth in the middle of the dancefloor, encouraging eye contact and immersion. Fuelled by fiery, energetic techno this format champions a connection and togetherness that at times feels closer to a ritualistic gathering than a rave. As daylight fades the frenzied crowd becomes one, hungry for the infamous b2b sets Voicedrone and James close with. Their high-energy styles compliment each other and produce a uniquely signature sound that is impossible not to move to. Surrounded by their community this lethal duo create a powerful and cathartic closing that is truly the spirit of UNFOLD. #SlamRadio - 403 - Gerald VDH

Gerald is the founder and mastermind behind the infamous MEAT MARKET parties in Vienna, Austria’s thriving capital city. For almost a decade he has been running an outrageous amount of techno nights, all of which are well rooted in the LGBTIQ+ community. Being a DJ first and a producer second, Gerald’s main ambition is to travel and play his favorite music in front of audiences all around the globe. His sets explore various genres of electronic music, while maintaining the balanced energy to keep a dancefloor busy for hours. With gigs in clubs like MMA Munich, Distillery Leipzig and (his favorite place on earth) Berghain Berlin, Gerald made a name for himself as a performer and music lover, who would give his life to safe a punter’s night out. In 2017 Gerald started the label MEAT RECORDINGS with his fellow musicians MATT MOR and SPECIFIC OBJECTS. The imprint specializes in pret a dancer techno music with a focus on quality and groove. MEAT RECORDINGS is also responsible for soundtrack of the movie NEVRLAND, which will hit theatres around the world in winter 2019. The label has seen twelve releases so far, five of which have also been published on vinyl. Watch out for more releases in the very new future. #SlamRadio - 401 - Stefan Vincent

Arguing that it’s about time for Stefan Vincent to step into the limelight is understating matters. After all, if you’re able to count the heads of some of the world’s finest labels, (think Token, Sthlm LTD and Dynamic Reflection) and the likes of Laurent Garnier and Jeff Mills among your fans, you’re obviously doing something right. This relative anonymity isn’t something that troubles the Amsterdam based producer, DJ and live act, though: more than willing to invest time in his art, the man literally lives in his studio and so is in no hurry whatsoever. His path, unlike that of many, hasn’t found him go from playing records to making them, but instead, after discovering work by inspirational figures like Steve Rachmad, Surgeon and Jeff Mills, Stefan immediately set to work on his won creative projects. Whether it is playing a DJ set or cooking up an expressive live set, Stefan always translates his singularly deep, rich and driving sound into the club environment. With a good amount of solid techno releases under his belt, he continues to win over the hearts and dancing feet of audiences across the planet. #SlamRadio - 399 - Acierate & Tham

Acierate. [ˈæsɪəˌreɪt]. Verb (transitive). To convert (iron) into steel. That is at least what the Oxford English Dictionary might tell you if you searched for the meaning of this word. If you’d ask any raver from European Techno hotspots nowadays, like Berlin, Paris, Tbilisi or Barcelona, who haven’t been hiding under rocks for the past few years, they might give you a different definition. They might tell you a story. A story about a DJ they can’t forget. A DJ who provided them with sonic experiences in a class of their own. Drivy, aggressive synth leads, encased by hammering industrial tunes. Music, so energetic, so undeniably going forward that it almost hurts not dancing to it. Because that’s what Berlin born and bred Acierate is serving his audiences. The founder of SYNOID and resident of Berlin’s infamous Griessmuehle has an indisputable reputation for unapologetic DJ sets driven by an unquenchable thirst for rave. Not in the sense of bluntly sequencing matching records, but in building up musical narrations. Telling stories not with words but with synth lines, high hats, snares, and a hell of a lot of bass drum. Converting sonic energy into physical movement Tham is an up-and-coming artist from Berlin, where he’s also one half behind the infamous SYNOID series and resident at Griessmuehle. As he discovered his love for electronic music on the city’s dancefloors, his style of DJing is all about the dancefloor: creating an energetic flow using industrial tunes and aggressive synth sounds. The same goes for his productions, which made him part of the rising techno label “Lebendig”. #SlamRadio - 397 - Alessandro Nero

Alessandro Nero / @kindcrime-recordings https://www.facebook.com/AlessandroNeroXI With more than 10 years of releases with various aliases, including several albums, EPs and dozens of singles, Alessandro Nero is a morbid take on industrial techno, even if his sound is not really characterized by only a certain type of elements and therefore cannot be defined within a single subgenre, in fact it expresses itself through various forms, always remaining coherent and defining itself within the parameters of an industrial proposal, which movement is constantly evolving thanks to direct contamination with other related genres such as acid, ebm, hardcore and breakbeat, but also towards new reinterpretations and less direct influences of urban cultures such as metal and punk in their various facets, therefore both for a purely artistic and personal reason Alessandro Nero wants to project the idea of a futuristic global world that could live a socio-cultural epiphany through the understanding of all modern and effective styles to transmit something sensorially relevant and hence unifier. He has been remixed by artists like Scalameriya, Endlec, JoeFarr, Blush Response, D Carbone or Keepsakes and has great experience in clubs throughout Europe and South America, participating in 2016 in the 25 years of Tresor Berlin and performing in the vast majority of European countries such as England, Holland, France, Germany, Poland, Russia, Italy, Spain, Greece, Hungary and many others. At this point Alessandro Nero can undoubtedly be considered one of the most ruthless instigators of the Sith army. Alessandro has just recently released a 10 original mix album "Mythologies Of Violence in Postmodern Media" on his own label Kindcrime and 1 track in a solidarity VA on the italian Insane Industry. In the following weeks he is also releasing a track in a VA on Sticky Ground and in the following months an ebm techno album on X-IMG, SARIN's label, that will be composed by 7 original mix and 1 remix from Crystal Geometry. He is also working on the first album of 'From Science To Ritual' with singer Elen Payne, an industrial and experimental noise side project that will see the light at the end of this year.
