The highly-anticipated film adaptation of Ramayana helmed by Nitesh Tiwari is set to commence production in February 2024 according to reports. Real-life couple Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt were initially rumoured to play Ram and Sita in the film, however, Bhatt reportedly dropped out due to scheduling conflicts. Premam and Gargi star Sai Pallavi will now play Sita, while KGF star Yash will essay the role of Raavan. The film is expected to be part of a trilogy of films, but further information about the film has been kept under wraps.

It was earlier reported that renowned horror filmmaker Eli Roth is helming a new horror slasher titled Thanksgiving. The film stars Patrick Dempsey, Milo Manheim, Addison Rae, Rick Hoffman, and Gina Gershon in prominent roles. The plot is set in the small town of Plymouth, Massachusetts where the American Thanksgiving holiday is celebrated with great fervour by its residents. However, the festivities take a dark turn when an axe-wielding killer turns up to wreak havoc. The first-look images of the film’s main antagonist were recently revealed on social media. Thanksgiving will hit theatres on November 17.

The Coen brothers' film-inspired anthology crime drama series Fargo, is returning for a fifth season. The FX original series created by Noah Hawley has garnered significant praise for its dark humour, gripping stories about crime, and well-written characters. The upcoming fifth season features Mad Men actor John Hamm in the lead as a rule-bending and spirited sheriff Ray Tillman. Unlike previous seasons, the story will not revolve around murder, but it will follow a kidnapping case. The fifth season stars Stranger Things actor Joe Keery, Ted Lasso alum Juno Temple, and multiple award-winning Hollywood veteran Jennifer Jason Leigh in prominent roles. Fargo season 5 will premiere on November 21.

Fukrey 3 director Mrighdeep Singh Lamba has been in the news for his latest film, the third instalment of the Fukrey franchise which releases on 28th September. It is now being reported that the director is already eyeing his next project and will reportedly collaborate with Phone Bhoot director Gurmmeet Singh for a new gangster series. The duo will also be joined by renowned TV director Suparn Verma, who is best known for directing episodes of hit shows such as The Family Man, Rana Naidu, and The Trial. Mike Flanagan, best known for his horror hits such as The Haunting of Hill House, The Haunting of Bly Banor, and Midnight Mass is set to release his next Netflix original series, The Fall of the House of Usher. The highly-anticipated series features a star-studded ensemble of Bruce Greenwood, Mary McDonnell, Mark Hamill, Carl Lumbly, and Carla Gugino. The mini-series is based on the short story by Edgar Allan Poe. The plot revolves around a pharmaceutical company CEO who is forced to confront his questionable past after his children begin to die under mysterious circumstances. The Fall of the House of Usher premieres on Netflix on October 12 and we’re buckled up for this bone-chilling ride.

Gabriel Luna, who recently played Tommy Miller in the acclaimed HBO series The Last of Us, has been cast alongside Kate Mara for a new sci-fi thriller. Titled The Astronaut, the duo slips into the role of a married couple, with Mara as the titular character – the lone survivor of a space disaster. The film is written and directed by Jess Varley who is making her feature film directorial debut. The Matrix and John Wick: Chapter 4 star Laurence Fishburne will also play a pivotal role in the project. Filming for The Astronaut is expected to commence next month.

After struggling at the box office in recent years, Bollywood star Akshay Kumar found immense success with his latest release OMG 2. The actor is now set to return to the silver screen with Tinu Suresh Desai's next film in which he stars alongside Parineeti Chopra. The thriller was initially titled Capsule Gill, but after undergoing several revisions, the filmmakers have finalized on Mission Raniganj. The first teaser for the film is expected to be released on Akshay Kumar’s birthday, September 9 and Mission Raniganj will hit theatres across India on October 6.

The highly-anticipated sequel to the hit Tamil film Chandramukhi has finally released its trailer. The trailer features Bollywood star Kangana Ranaut as the titular character, who is on a quest to exact vengeance against her adversaries. The film also stars Sathyaraj, Radhika Sarathkumar, Raghava Lawrence, Mahima Nambiar, Sreenivasan, Lakshmi Menon, Vadivelu among others. The original film, starring Rajinikanth, is a remake of the iconic 1993 Malayalam film Manichitrathazhu, which has also been remade in Kannada, Telugu, Bengali, and the Hindi film Bhool Bhulaiyaa, starring Akshay Kumar and Vidya Balan. Chandramukhi 2 is set to release in theatres on 15th September this year.

It was reported earlier that Aamir Khan’s production company is working on a remake of the Spanish film Campeones. Salman Khan was initially offered the role of the lead star, but the actor turned it down according to reports. Now, according to new reports, Aamir Khan has himself decided to play the lead role in the remake despite the role also being offered to Farhan Akhtar. The film will be helmed by R.S. Prasanna, who is best known for directing the Tamil comedy Kalyana Samayal Saadham starring Prasanna and Lekha Washington. The Campeones remake is expected to begin filming by the end of 2023 or early 2024 and is reportedly eying a December 2024 release.

Pakistani actor Fawad Khan, who recently starred in the Disney+ Marvel series Ms. Marvel has been cast in Netflix’s first original series from Pakistan. He will reunite with his The Legend of Maula Jatt co-star Mahira Khan, who is best known for starring in the 2017 Shah Rukh Khan film Raees. The series is titled Jo Bachay Hain Sang Samait Lo and features an ensemble cast of Hania Aamir, Hamza Ali Abbasi, Sanam Saeed, and Resident Evil star Ahad Raza Mir. 2023 has been a busy year for Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan. Superstar Rajnikanth’s latest film Jailer has already passed several box office milestones after becoming the highest opening for a Tamil film in India. However, the film’s Hindi release has hit a snag. The national multiplexes demanded the filmmakers keep an eight-week gap before the OTT release, but the filmmakers are only keen on a four-week gap, causing the Hindi screening to be halted until a breakthrough in negotiations can be finalised. Pankaj Jaysinh of UFO argued that the clause is fundamentally wrong considering several films have shorter theatrical runs. He added that the clause is currently applicable only to the Hindi version and that the Telugu and Tamil versions are being screened instead in various national multiplexes. Jailer has grossed over ₹72 crores on its opening day despite releasing on a working day.

It has now been revealed that a third film in the franchise titled, Indian 3, is being filmed simultaneously with Indian 2. Directed by S. Shankar, Indian 3 has reportedly completed 75% of its production while Indian 2 has nearly wrapped up filming. It has been revealed that Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 will premiere on August 2 on Disney+ and on Disney+ Hotstar in India. Taylor Sheridan’s 'Special Ops: Lioness' is based on a true story Actor and filmmaker Taylor Sheridan, who is best known for helming Wind River and creating the Yellowstone franchise, is set to release his next major TV series. Titled Special Ops: Lioness, the series stars Avatar and Guardians of the Galaxy star Zoe Saldana in the lead, along with Academy Award-winners Nicole Kidman and Morgan Freeman. The series is based on a real-life U.S. military program and revolves around a female marine raider who is roped in by the CIA to befriend the daughter of a terrorist in order to carry out his assassination. Special Ops: Lioness will premiere on July 23 on Paramount+ and simultaneously on JioCinema in India. 'Heartstopper' Season 2 reveals first look images of upcoming season The critically-acclaimed coming-of-age Netflix romantic drama series, Heartstopper has released first-look images of its second season, thus revealing the final cast. The show’s plot revolves around teens Nick and Charlie who realise that their friendship could be something more. The new images for the second season feature new cast members along with returning cast members of the hit TV show. The acclaimed British series is helmed by Alice Oseman, and it is based on Oseman’s novel of the same name. Heartstopper Season 2 will premiere on Netflix on August 3. Arshad Warsi fans are in luck! The 55-year-old comedy actor has recently announced that he will be featuring in two comedy sequels: Welcome 3 and Jolly LLB 3. Warsi was the lead in Jolly LLB , the first film in the franchise where he played a relentless lawyer who goes the length to seek justice for his clients. Warsi was however replaced by Akshay Kumar in Jolly LLB 2, a sequel that didn’t quite size up to the first film in terms of a compelling story and box office performance. Warsi is best known for comedy hits such as Munna Bhai M.B.B.S and its sequel Lage Raho Munna Bhai where he played the affable Circuit along with Sanjay Dutt. Warsi has, in recent years, managed to make a dent in the OTT space by headlining the Voot series Asur. And we’re stoked to hear there’s a lot more in store for the comic genius.

Alia Bhatt, who is set to play a negative character in the Gal Gadot-led spy film Heart of Stone, has been cast in another spy thriller. According to reports, she will headline an untitled film, which will be part of Aditya Chopra's Spy Universe. The actress will be joining the likes of Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Hrithik Roshan, Deepika Padukone, and Katrina Kaif in the film which is touted as the biggest film franchise in India. While further details regarding the project have been kept under wraps, it has been confirmed the Salman Khan film Tiger 3 is set to release in November this year. Whereas War 2, starring Hrithik Roshan, and Tiger Vs Pathaan, starring Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan, are expected to begin filming in 2024.

Popular character actor Judy Greer essays the lead role in the upcoming sci-fi film Aporia. She plays the role of a woman whose husband was killed by a drunk driver. But when she gains access to a weapon that can shoot anyone in the past, she decides to avenge her husband's death. By going back in time and killing the man responsible, she prevents her spouse’s death but inadvertently triggers a chain of events that lead to dire consequences. Edi Gathegi, who was recently cast as Mr Terrific in Superman: Legacy, essays the role of the husband. Aporia is set to release in theatres on August 11.

The release of the Malayalam film Voice of Sathyanathan, which was supposed to be the on-screen return of controversial actor Dileep, has been postponed by a week. The film was slated to release on July 14 this weekend, however, the filmmakers have now decided to postpone the release due to torrential rain in Kerala. The comedy-drama features a star-studded ensemble of Joju George, Jude Anthany Joseph, Siddique, Vijayaraghavan, Veena Nandakumar, along with Jagapathi Babu and Bollywood veteran Anupam Kher. The film will now be released on July 21st.

Disney-owned American streaming service, Hulu, has announced that it is set to launch a new hub for its adult animation and anime. Titled Animayhem, the sub-brand will feature iconic animated shows such as American Dad, Bob’s Burgers, Family Guy, Futurama, and King of the Hill. The entire catalogue includes 46 adult animated series, 272 anime series, and 17 anime films. Further details regarding the new sub-brand are yet to be revealed.

Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan’s upcoming film Jawan recently unveiled its first look teaser, drawing praise from fans and filmmakers alike. Bollywood star Aamir Khan is set to reunite with filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani for a new feature film. The duo previously worked together in blockbuster hits such as 3 Idiots and PK, and their latest project will be a biopic. Veteran Tamil star Kamal Haasan has confirmed that he is set to collaborate with Valimai and Thunivu director H. Vinoth for a new film. The political film will be produced by Haasan’s production house Raaj Kamal Films International and Turmeric Media. The actor made the announcement on social media and is tentatively titled KH233, to mark Haasan’s 233rd film. Meanwhile, the veteran actor will be next seen in Indian 2 directed by S. Shankar.
