Jon Batiste to make acting debut Grammy-award winning musician Jon Batiste is set to make his feature film debut as an actor in the upcoming film, The Color Purple. He will be joined by Fantasia Barrino, Colman Domingo, and Taraji P. Henson, and the film will be produced by Warner Brothers. It is based on a Pulitzer Prize-winning novel by Alice Walker, which was adapted into a Tony award-winning Broadway musical and a 1985 film by Steven Spielberg. Zoya Akhtar's The Archies begins production Zoya Akhtar's highly anticipated film, The Archies, starring Suhana Khan, Khushi Kapoor, and Agastya Nanda, has begun production. The film is an Indian adaptation of the Archie Comics. Amitabh and Jaya Bachchan's grandson, Nanda, will play the lead role of Archie, Boney Kapoor and Sridevi’s daughter, Khushi, will essay the role of Betty, while Shah Rukh and Gauri Khan's daughter, Suhana, will portray the role of Veronica. The film is set to release on Netflix. Dev Patel directorial Monkey Man’s patchwork shoot in India Dev Patel, who was last seen in Hotel Mumbai, is making his directorial debut with Monkey Man. As per reports, the cast and crew of the film are in India to complete the film’s patchwork shoot. The film is an action thriller set in India and stars Dev Patel, Sharlto Copley, Sobhita Dhulipala, and Sikandar Kher in important roles. The rights to the film have been acquired by Netflix. Amell plays a fighter named Gallatin, while Zhang is a human adopted by the dryads of Brokilon Forest, Milva. Matt Reeves releases deleted Joker scene from The Batman The Batman director Matt Reeves has released unseen footage from the film on social media. The scene features an interaction between Robert Pattinson's titular hero and Barry Keoghan’s Joker. Keoghan’s Joker was only teased in the film and never officially confirmed.
