Melissa Barrera and Jenna Ortega will not reprise their roles of Sam and Tara Carpenter in "Scream 7." Barrera was let go of the project due to her comments about the Israel/Palestine conflict, according to the studio. Ortega bowed out of her obligations due to scheduling conflicts for "Wednesday" season two. No other Scream film has suffered in the editing room in the way Scream 4 did. More than a dozen scenes were left on the cutting room floor and several sequences were reshot.
