RED CARD FUME! APPEAL Submitted!
Host Chris Beesley returns from Selhurst Park with Joe Thomas to discuss Everton's FA Cup third round controversy alongside regular guest Gavin Buckland. Everton have launched an appeal against the red card handed to Dominic Calvert-Lewin against Crystal Palace. The forward was sent off amid controversy in the FA Cup third round at Selhurst Park after referee Chris Kavanagh was ordered to review his challenge on Nathaniel Clyne. Kavanagh had seen no issue with the incident in real-time but, predictably, reversed his call once he was sent to the pitch side monitor. It was a contentious decision that has sparked outrage inside and outside the Everton camp. And while the Blues were still able to fight through the adversity and take the game to a replay it will have serious consequences for the club. Host Chris Beesley returns from Selhurst Park with Joe Thomas to discuss Everton's FA Cup third round controversy alongside regular guest Gavin Buckland. League Cup Exit | Onana Penalty | Fulham Reaction!
Everton's run in the Carabao Cup ended in heartbreak after losing to a penalty shootout in the Carabao Cup quarter-final against Fulham. Doucoure’s Transformation! Everton News
Abdoulaye Doucoure has netted 15 times for Everton in his century of matches, giving him an overall strike rate of a goal every 6.67 games. However, 11 of those goals have come in the last 26 matches, to produce a goal every 2.36 matches, an incredible rate for a midfielder, especially when you consider that the Blues’ main striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s 50 Premier League goals have been over 193 appearances, for a goal every 3.86 games. Other than being Everton’s “Johnny on the spot” as Dyche has called him – Doucoure was again in the right place at the right time to stick the ball in the net against the Londoners after Calvert-Lewin’s initial shot was saved – just how has his game actually altered since the change of management at Goodison Park? Ian Croll and Chris Beesley sit down for the third Royal Blue podcast of the week to discuss all things Abdoulaye Doucoure. ‘Chelsea the better team’ - Poch! Everton News
Mauricio Pochettino insisted Chelsea were the better side at Goodison Park despite losing 2-0 to Everton. Second half goals from Abdoulaye Doucoure and Lewis Dobbin gave Sean Dyche’s men a third successive win and if it wasn’t for the club’s 10-point deduction – the heaviest sporting penalty in the 135-year history of English top flight football – Everton would now be four points clear of the big-spending west London club in the Premier League table. However, their Argentinian head coach maintained his team were the superior outfit. In tonight's Royal Blue Podcast, Ian Croll and Matt Jones talk over Everton's second home win in as many games and discuss the Chelsea manager's comments. Everton have responded with fury to a 10-point deduction handed down after an independent commission found the club guilty of breaching financial regulations.
