Wild City declared it an understated classic. The hour-long interview with Border Movement is a must read for any nihilist. Session #104 (Feat. DEF)

DEF (Jaipur, India) Born in The Pink City - Jaipur (India), Def started clubbing at an early age and got deeply influenced by house music. He started hanging out with the other DJs and organizers and started playing music at an age of 16. While practicing and playing house music in 2009 for about two years his taste of music got really minimal and he started producing Minimal/Techno. His idea of expanding the limits of genres and going deeper into music production led him to produce experimental and low BPM deep grooves and gloomy sounds with thumping bass lines and soothing atmospheric sounds. Soon he discovered his own signature style which can be easily recognised when you listen to his tracks. Recently his Debut EP "Whispering Hat" was released by Maksim Dark's new imprint and SHINOCS MUSIC's another part WALLTRAUM and made its way into the BEATPORT TOP 100 Minimal Release at no. 38 The EP was downloaded and supported by some of the biggest names of the industry like Richie Hawtin, Marco Carola, Paco Osuna, Joseph Capriati, Stacy Pullen, Nick Strauss, Oscar L, John Haden, Breger, Calm Chor, and many more. Currently DEF is experimenting with his new sounds with the contemporary styles of electronic music which will be released soon by some of the best underground music labels both national and international later this year.

Session #103 (Feat. Soulspace)

Soulspace (Bangalore, India) Soulspace distances himself with more exploratory tempos and an experimental beat-maker approach, of which cities like Los Angeles or London are particularly well known for, yet the electronica producer is worlds apart. Hailing from Bangalore, India he’s capable of shifting moods from downtempo electronica to a more dance-floor friendly approach of 4/4 summertime grooves with his signature melodic & soulful sounds. His stunning debut self-titled LP had garnered rave reviews & support from stalwarts such as Laurent Garnier, Claude Von Stroke, Kollektiv Turmstrasse, Mark Farina, Robert Owens and Pablo Bolivar. His live sets are deep, emotive yet dance floor oriented, with his signature sound. It’s a journey in sound with no genre constraints. As a DJ he believes not just about mixing two records but rather in telling stories with his sets infused with subliminal messages that keeps you hooked onto every beat. Having shared the stage with artists like Soul Clap, DJ Koze, Troy Pierce, HVOB, Shigeto, Parra for Cuva, Palms Trax, Garden City Movement, he now co-runs a record label/artists collective known as Lowlit with Frame/ Frame. The aim of the label is to provide a platform for forward thinking and most talented Indian music producers. He has played alongside with some of the notable artists, the best clubs & festivals like Magnetic Fields , NH7 and Future Theory Festival in India. Garnering attention from international aficionados he's been also getting signed to respected and, critically acclaimed International Record Labels like Traum Schallplatten. Session #97 (Feat. Oryza)

Oryza (New Delhi, India) Oryza, a solo project of Aashna Oriza Kamboj, a budding musician from a small town in Haryana, India, marks the beginning of the journey of pure musical exploration in the underground dance music scene. She started producing music in 2014, first by producing progressive trance, before moving to her current minimal, techno and progressive house sound. After spending some good time on learning the skill that goes into making electronic sounds and producing some meaningful work, she wanted her tracks to reach out to the masses not just through Soundcloud but also through performances. Having delivered mind-boggling music sets at various clubs in Delhi, she breaks the commercially accepted norms of dance music, to take people on a dark but melodic journey of beautiful synth work, ethereal backdrops, and brooding bass-lines, all on top of a pronounced foot-shuffling house and techno beat, through her own music as well. Session #95 (Feat. Sam Shroff)

Sam Shroff (Chennai, India) Right from his school days, music has been an important part of Sam’s life. His parents introduced him to the likes of “The Beatles” and “Simon and Garfunkel” that kindled his interest and curiosity for music. As much as he loved the classics, his love for beats was more, and he would often remix the songs he was listening to in his head. After school, Sam started to remix popular songs using software such as Acid Pro and Sound Forge. After completing his Bachelor’s degree in Chennai, India, he went to London to pursue his Master’s. The swinging city turned out to become his greatest lesson yet in the ocean of music and increased his respect for its vastness. This is also where he discovered the world of Techno. Chennai has also played an equal role in Sam’s musical journey. The city, though a lot less active than London in terms of nightlife, always pushed contemporary music over mainstream sounds. Clubs such as EC41, HFO and SOCKO (some of them unfortunately now shut down) will always hold a special place in his life as it encouraged him to pursue a career as a DJ. Watching and listening to a few DJ friends helped him understand the vibe of this genre, that the city of Chennai has now come to love. Attending one of the biggest Techno festivals held on the beaches of Chennai’s beautiful coastline along with continuous encouragement from friends, were important catalysts for Sam to start mixing music. Sam has come a long way from playing off his iPod at house parties, to playing at friend’s parties in front of huge crowds. He is now one of the most sought-after DJs in the circuit and has played at some of the best clubs and festivals in Chennai. He has opened for some of the biggest names in the business; the likes of Bart Skils, Arjun Vagale, Ankytrixx, Ash Roy, Kohra, Calm Chor, Rosper, Tuhin Mehta, Mafaiza, to name a few.
