In this episode of the Random Nintendo Podcast, we cover all that and more with a deep dive into everything from Nintendo’s recent financial report and beyond. We want to hear what you think, too. Episode 192: Stocking Stuffers

‘Tis the season where you cram as much as you can into a sock. In this episode of the Random Nintendo Podcast, we’re doing that in the figurative sense with a grab bag of gaming goodies as we share our Games of the Year picks and impressions of both TowerFall on Switch and Pokemon Go’s new Trainer Battles. We also dive into the latest holiday sales numbers from Nintendo, revisit Smash Bros. Ultimate, and yes, talk about Sonic’s overly toned legs. If this episode was a stocking, it’d be absolutely stuffed. And just like any good stocking, it contains a gift! We’re giving away a $20 eShop gift card to one lucky commenter. As longtime listeners of the show may know, Jason has a reputation of never finishing his games. Now, we want to know which of your games you somehow never got to and why. Maybe you started but simply didn’t finish; or perhaps you never even took it out of the box. Whatever the most outlandish reason you have, let’s hear it! Leave a comment below telling us your game and reason, and we’ll highlight our favorites – and pick one lucky gift card winner – in our next episode on January 9. To make sure you don’t miss it, be sure to follow us on Twitter @RandomNintendo and subscribe to us on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Stitcher, Google Play Music, YouTube, or your podcasting app of choice. Episode 161: Playing with Super Power

When a podcast is headlined by the Super NES, Star Fox 2, and a Nintendo World Championship, it’s hard to tell if it’s 2017 or the 90s. But rest assured, this episode of the Random Nintendo Podcast is as modern as they come. The show begins with an in-depth discussion of last week’s Nintendo World Championships and its news, including the next ARMS update and a final peek at Super Mario Odyssey. We then turn our attention to the real star of the show, the SNES Classic. We share impressions of the hardware, the software, and yes, the 21-years-in-the-making Star Fox 2. The impressions don’t stop there as we then dive into Switch’s SteamWorld Dig 2, Binaries, and the upcoming Spelunker Party. Plus, Jason accepts his fate for losing last episode’s Smash Bros. bet and licks three Switch cartridges back to back (complete with a video you can find below). What’s your favorite game in the SNES Classic library? And perhaps more importantly, what’s your stance on licking cartridges? Leave a comment and let us know! f you enjoyed the show, be sure to subscribe to us on iTunes, Stitcher, Google Play Music, or your podcasting app of choice.
