This season’s theme “Live from New York!” continues with the movie “Superstar,” featuring the brilliantly funny Molly Shannon starring as Mary Katherine Gallagher. In this episode we explore the career of Molly Shannon to get a better understanding of how this movie and it’s protagonist is in many ways a pseudo-autobiographical story of Molly Shannon herself. It’s tonal mosaic of a poorly constructed narrative wrapped around a narcissistic protagonist. And did we mention Mr. Reynolds not only stars but directs as well?
