What happens when a unique director is given full control over the latest entry in a blockbuster superhero franchise? Why, Batman Returns does! In this episode of our latest season, “Christmastime Is Here,” we look at Tim Burton’s career before diving into the snowy weirdness of his follow-up to 1989’s hugely popular Batman. S18 Ep 2S18: Episode 2: While You Were Sleeping
Ah, Christmas! A time for romance, and for podcasts that make fun of romantic comedies. We investigate the delightful misunderstandings that surround that most classic of romantic tropes – comas – and the grifters that swirl around the victims of said comas. S18 Ep 1S18: Episode 1: The Gingerdead Man
It’s time for a brand-new season of Pick Six Movies, and we’re kicking off season 18 with a real bang! This season, we’re calling it “Christmastime Is Here, “is all about movies that are more Christmas-adjacent than actual Christmas movies. And nothing says not quite Christmas like Gary Busey in a low-budget horror movie where he voices a possessed baked good called The Gingerdead Man. The characters are one-note, the plot makes no sense, and there’s a secret alcoholic in the mix. Everything you’ve come to expect from Pick Six! So, enough prep, let’s get cooking! S17 Ep 6S17: Episode 6: Faust: Love of the Damned
Something we say a lot around Pick Six Movies HQ is “This is the worst movie we’ve ever done.” But, seriously, Faust: Love of the Damned is the worst movie we’ve ever done. It might be one of the most distasteful movies ever made. And yet, we watched it and then we laughed a lot while discussing it. We hope you do, too. Now we have to go take one of those Silkwood showers for the rest of our lives… You can watch it here, but don’t. We mean it. S17 Ep 5S17: Episode 5: Jonah Hex
Well howdy, pardners! It’s the penultimate episode of Season 17 of Pick Six Movies, a movie so short, you know it’s got to be good. That’s right, it’s the ill-informed movie adaptation of the DC comic Jonah Hex! We’ve packed it full of John Malkovich impressions, something to do with Sling Blade, and even try to figure out why this would have ever seemed like a good idea in the first place. And if that doesn’t like a hootenanny, I don’t know what does! Thanks for listening and be sure to subscribe on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Stitcher, Pandora, iHeartRadio, Podchaser, Google Podcasts, and on Android here.Catch up with all the old episodes right here! ★ Support this podcast on Patreon ★

It’s a new episode of Pick Six Movies, and we’re bringing everyone! Captain Nemo, Allan Quartermain, Mina Herker, An Invisible Man, Tom Sawyer, Dr. Jekyll, and Dorian Gray are all joining in the fun on our latest season, Comic Sans Quality. That’s right, it’s The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, and it is quite the mess. We tackle the tough questions, like “How long does poo stay invisible?” and “Is Mina Harker an irresponsible vampire?” and that’s before we fixate on Quartermain’s likely memory issues. It’s shorter than the last episode, but twice as fun!**may only be 1.5 x as funThanks for listening and be sure to subscribe on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Stitcher, Pandora, iHeartRadio, Podchaser, Google Podcasts, and on Android here.Catch up with all the old episodes right here! ★ Support this podcast on Patreon ★

S17 Ep 1S17: Episode 1: Howard the Duck
Here at Pick Six Movies, we throw around phrases like “worst movie we ever saw” a lot. This is one of those rare occasions that we might be right about this being awful. Part sexed-up bestiality romp, part galactic adventure, it’s all mess. There’s a pre-troubles Jeffrey Jones, a pre-Shawshank Tim Robbins, and a post-good idea animatronic duck. Also, sorry about your birthday, Billy…Thanks for listening and be sure to subscribe on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Stitcher, Pandora, iHeartRadio, Podchaser, Google Podcasts, and on Android here.Catch up with all the old episodes right here! ★ Support this podcast on Patreon ★

Jaws 3-D is like Jaws but in 3-D and it’s terrible. Which makes it a perfect season finale for the six Jaws knock-off movies featured this season. Dennis Quaid, Bess Armstrong, Louis Gosset Jr., Lea Thompson, and a whole bunch of actors you probably don’t now star in a movie that was conceived as a comedy, produced as a thriller, and landed in theaters as a turd. S16 Ep 3S16: Episode 3: The Swarm
Irwin Allen’s “The Swarm” is like, “Jaws” but with bees. This makes it perfect for episode 3 of Season 16’s theme “It’s Like Jaws” featuring 6 movies that ripped off “Jaws”. This movie has more Michael Cain and flamethrowers than any other movie featured in the history of this podcast. Plus, there’s an all-star cast that grandparents would somewhat recognize. S15 Ep 5S15: Episode 5: From Justin to Kelly
Season Fifteen takes a look at American Idol winners Kelly Clarkson and Justin Guarini and the ill-advised movie they starred in, From Justin to Kelly. It’s god singing and dancing and subplots about dating locals and ruining relationships, and none of it makes much sense, which is perfect for us! Join Chad, Bo, and the Queen of Conniving for a toe-tapping, headache-inducing look at a movie that never should have been…Thanks for listening and be sure to subscribe on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Stitcher, Pandora, iHeartRadio, Podchaser, Google Podcasts, and on Android here.Catch up with all the old episodes right here! ★ Support this podcast on Patreon ★

S15 Ep 4S15: Episode 4: Cool as Ice
Yo yo, it’s Vanilla Ice in his big screen debut, Cool As Ice! It’s part The Wild One, part crime drama, and all very confusing. Thrill to the Dad from Family Ties and chill to Vanilla Ice trying to portray human emotions. You may find yourself sympathizing with Ice in the intro, but we’ll put a quick end to that. Jump in for one of the worst movies we’ve ever covered!

Elvis Presley stars in Stay Away Joe, the featured first film in season 15’s theme “A Flop is Born.” We feature six movies with singers who think they can act. S14 Ep 6S14: Episode 6: Murder in New Hampshire: The Pamela Smart Story
The season finale of Season 14 of Pick Six Movies, “Once in a Lifetime,” features a story ripped from the headlines of 1990. It’s a tale as old as time. Married teacher and her student fall for each other. Married teacher asks student to kill husband to make her do her wedding vows, because divorce is messy with unintended consequences. Before she won her Oscar, Helen Hunt appeared in this Lifetime original movie that hit the cable TV airwaves just a few months after the televised courtroom drama ended. The source material is tragic. This movie is a tragedy. It’s Murder in New Hampshire! ★ Support this podcast on Patreon ★

S14 Ep 5S14: Episode 5: She’s Too Young
She’s Too Young or The One Where They All Got Syphilis, is a 90s era cautionary tale of high school students gone wild and absent parents that are well…just gone. Marcia Gay Harden delivers a performance worthy of a “Greatest TV Movie Mom Ever” statuette and there’s a bunch of other actors and actresses that you may know form something you kind of remember. Join us as we head down to the school nurse to see if this is something we should be worried about in EP5 of this season’s theme “Once in a Lifetime” featuring 6 made for Lifetime Network TV movies. ★ Support this podcast on Patreon ★

Crazy mom and crazy grandma are back to scream and be insane, too! It’s wackier and weirder than the first time around in this classic Lifetime Movie that one of us loves and the other was intensely creeped out by… ★ Support this podcast on Patreon ★

S14 Ep 3S14: Episode 3: Dear Santa
Can a psychological thriller be wrapped up to look like a charming Christmas tale of fate, serendipity, and romance? Yes, it can, and it’s Dear Santa, the third of six made for the Lifetime TV network movies in this season’s theme “Once in a Lifetime.” This movie has snow plows, wedding rings, mail theft, New York in Canada, closeted straight men pretending to be gay, and the most devious character since William Shakespeare gave life to Iago. This movie is one of the craziest Christmas movies you will ever see and it’s a whole lot of fun. ★ Support this podcast on Patreon ★

S14 Ep 2S14: Episode 2: Grumpy Cat’s Worst Christmas Ever
Who would think an internet meme could make a great Christmas movie? Apparently nobody. And this movie proves it. Grumpy Cat is the sour puss that launched a million snarky memes and stars in her first and only movie, that was showcased on the Lifetime Network, landing in the #2 episode of the season’s theme “Once in a Lifetime” that features 6 Lifetime made for TV movies. Grumpy Cat’s Worst Christmas Ever is a mash-up of ill-conceived ideas, poorly written dialogue, low production values and bad editing. Exactly the kind of movie we love to discuss on Pick Six Movies. Join us for some holiday cheers as we discuss all things meme-related, grumpy and otherwise. ★ Support this podcast on Patreon ★

S14 Ep 1S14: Episode 1: A Very Nutty Christmas
A Very Nutty Christmas kicks off season 14 with Melissa Joan Hart playing a former investment banker turned bakery owner in a small town who finds love over the holidays when a nutcracker comes to life. It’s a lot like the movie Elf only more terrible. But don’t worry, a thin plot filled with under-developed characters accompanied by poor audio, passable editing all work to stick the landing of the plot where (Spoilers!) the heroine is still alone at Christmas. ★ Support this podcast on Patreon ★

S1 Ep 5S13: Episode 6: Spectre
Daniel Craig stars as 007 in the finale of this season’s theme “Bonds. James Bonds.” featuring 6 films and 6 actors in the iconic role. There are helicopter stunts, fist fights on trains, crashing planes, and international globe-trotting by arguably the world’s most famous and arguably inept secret agent. Hear all about the music of James Bond and get introduced to Pick Six Bot, our very own voice activated artificial intelligence device. ★ Support this podcast on Patreon ★

S13 Ep 5S13: Episode 5: Die Another Day
Pierce Brosnan stars in his final outing as 007 alongside Halle Berry in the 20th James Bond movie, 2002’s “Die Another Day”. This movie has ice lairs, space lasers, sword fights, invisible cars, high tech rings, laser watches, exploding planes and somehow manages to underwhelm. Dame Judy Dench and John Cleese show up to class up the place, but there’s a reason this was Brosnan’s final turn as the world-famous secret agent. ★ Support this podcast on Patreon ★

S13 Ep 4S13: Episode 4: License to Kill
“License to Kill” finds Timothy Dalton as 007 heading to Mexico or Florida or the mythical land of Isthmus City to do battle with cocaine smugglers. Bond plays blackjack over baccarat, drinks a Budweiser over a vodka martini and trades in the Aston Martin for an 18-wheeler. It’s a James Bond movie like none other with co-stars including Benicio Del Toro, Carey Lowell, Robert Davi and Wayne Newton as an corrupt televangelist. ★ Support this podcast on Patreon ★

S13 Ep 3S13: Episode 3: A View to a Kill
Roger Moore stars in “A View to a Kill” in this season’s theme “Bonds. James Bonds,” where he does battle with Grace Jones, Christopher Walken and early onset osteoporosis. There’s exciting sub-plots involving horse breeding and geology surveys. Get ready to doze off here and there until Walken shows up to deliver one of the greatest performances as a Bond villain ever captured on film. ★ Support this podcast on Patreon ★

S13 Ep 2S13: Episode 2: On Her Majesty’s Secret Service
George Lazenby’s one and only performance as 007 is the subject of E2 in this season’s theme “Bonds. James Bonds”. Lazenby’s debut as a movie star found him alongside big time TV stars like Diana Rigg, Telly Savalas and Gabriele Ferzetti. There’s skiing, bobsledding, luge, safe-cracking, baccarat (whatever that is) and five-finger discounts on Playboy Centerfold spreads. Join us for one of the most underrated James Bond movies of all time as we try and save the world from infertility. No, really, that’s what happens. ★ Support this podcast on Patreon ★

S13 Ep 1S13: Episode 1: Goldfinger
“Bonds. James Bonds.” is the theme for Season 13 featuring 6 Bond movies, each with a different actor portraying Ian Fleming’s most famous MI-6 spy. Sean Connery stars as 007 in “Goldfinger,” foiling the sinister plot of villain Auric Goldfinger, fighting the bowler hat-wearing henchman Oddjob, and the most memorable Bond girl ever – Pussy Galore. Join us as we kick off this season with the Bond movie that established the blueprint for all Bond movies that followed, and a lot of sex, violence, sadism, gambling, alcohol, snobbery, and misogyny. ★ Support this podcast on Patreon ★

S12 Ep 6S12: Episode 6: Fantasy Island
“Fantasy Island” wraps up Season 12’s six movies all based on TV Shows. Michael Pena, Maggie Q & Lucy Hale headline this PG-13 Blumhouse Productions’ adaptation of the classic late 70’s and early 80’s ensemble television show. The movie is everything you loved about the TV show, only terrible and nothing really at all like the TV show. Join us as we make all your wildest dreams come true in a movie that was made for an audience of none. ★ Support this podcast on Patreon ★

S12 Ep 5S12: Episode 5: Tales from the Crypt Presents: Bordello of Blood (1996)
Dennis Miller and Angie Everheart headline the frightfully delightful and terribly campy “Tales from the Crypt presents: Bordello of Blood”. Everhart gives it her all and Dennis Miller couldn’t care less. But you are in luck because this episode is full of history behind the Tales from the Crypt comic books, an overdue Whoopi Goldberg impression plus Corey Feldman and someone who looks like, but isn’t, Corey Haim shows up. Join us as we join the Crypt Keeper for skin-crawling puns and a most unpleasantly hilarious time as we welcome you to EP 5 of this season’s theme “As Seen on TV” featuring 6 movies all inspired by TV shows. ★ Support this podcast on Patreon ★

S12 Ep 4S12: Episode 4: The Dukes of Hazzard (2005)
How do you make an updated version of a television show that is steeped in Southern culture, Confederate flags and all? That’s just one of the complicated questions this movie takes no pains to address. Instead, it’s a collection of Jackass-esque violence and flat jokes with a whiff of Jessica Simpson’s magical boobs. You know what? It’s easier if you just listen… ★ Support this podcast on Patreon ★

S12 Ep 3S12: Episode 3: Dragnet
Dan Aykroyd plays Joe Friday, the nephew of Joe Friday played by Jack Webb from the classic TV series “Dragnet”. This movie also stars American treasure Tom Hanks as the wise-cracking partner and American sleazeball Dabney Coleman as the smut-peddling pornographer. Harry Morgan, Christopher Plummer, and a cast of people that will make you say “Hey isn’t that the guy from that other thing?” Hop in the back seat and join us for a ride-along as we revisit this 1980’s classic “sequel” to the television your grandparents barely remember. ★ Support this podcast on Patreon ★

S12 Ep 2S12: Episode 2: Wild Wild West (1999)
Will Smith, Kevin Kline, Kenneth Branagh and Selma Hayek (for about 5 minutes) star in this big-screen adaptation of the 1960’s sci-fi western mashup of “The Wild Wild West”. It’s got gadgets and gizmos a plenty. It’s got racist and whatsits galore. You want angry lynching mobs? It’s got twenty. But who cares? No big deal. You want more? Then join us for episode 2 of this season’s theme “As Seen on TV” featuring 6 movies all based on television shows! ★ Support this podcast on Patreon ★

S12 Ep 1S12: Episode 1: The Avengers (1998)
“As Seen on TV” is the theme for Season 12 featuring 6 movies all inspired by television shows. Kicking things off is “The Avengers” movie that you’re not thinking about right now. This one stars Ralph Fiennes, Uma Thurman and Sean Connery in the big-screen adaptation of the 1960’s British spy series of the same name. There’s lethal weather and flying oversized robot hornets controlled by a cabal of oversized colorful bears. Plus, Eddie Izzard plays a hired goon! This movie is what academics define as “bonkers”. Enjoy. ★ Support this podcast on Patreon ★

S11 Ep 6S11: Episode 6: Armageddon
The season finale features Earth in the path of a giant space rock and a team of astronauts must risk their lives to destroy it to save all humanity. No, it’s not “Deep Impact”. It’s “Armageddon”. The one with Bruce Willis, Liv Tyler and Ben Affleck. And I think Morgan Freeman was the President? And I think Elijah Wood is Will Patton’s kid? We sort all this out as we wrap up season 11’s theme – “We’re All Gonna’ Die!” with the exciting, explosive, all-American, Michael Bay-directed cinematic spectacular from 1998. ★ Support this podcast on Patreon ★

S11 Ep 5S11: Episode 5: Terminator: Dark Fate
Arnold is back in this sequel to T2 that ignores all other Terminator sequels that came before it. Skynet was destroyed but somehow the future is still full of time-traveling robots with a blood lust for future underground militant leaders. This movie plays all the hits, “I’ll Be Back”, “Come With Me if You Want to (Live)” and “(Gimme’ Your Clothes Cuz’) I Time Travel Naked”. It’s everything you want in a Terminator movie, only disappointing. This episode is proudly presented in STEREO because that’s an option.Special thanks to Matti Viisainen who provided the acapella Terminator theme used in the show open. His incredible work was the glue that pulled the whole show open together. You can hear more of his brilliant and creative work over on his YouTube channel. ★ Support this podcast on Patreon ★

William Shatner stars in this 1977 classic monster movie about tarantulas taking over a small town in Arizona and then…the world? Can a drunken sheriff, drunken mayor and drunken veterinarian and big city college scientists defeat this toxic colony of big hairy arachnids? Well the answer is no, they can’t. The movie ends badly, but it’s a fun ride to get there. ★ Support this podcast on Patreon ★

S11 Ep 3S11: Episode 3: War of the Worlds
Looking for the “Worst Dad Ever” in a movie? We have a contender. It’s Tom Cruise in Steven Spielberg’s 2005 remake of “War of the Worlds”. Aliens attack earth and kill all humans until they get the sniffles and fall over dead. It’s a profanity-filled romp through the 2005 remake of the sci-fi classic. ★ Support this podcast on Patreon ★

S11 Ep 2S11: Episode 2: The Happening
Yo Bro! It’s episode 2 of Season 11’s theme- “We’re All Gonna’ Die!” This movie features the deadliest of of deadly death enduing causes of death, plants and the wind. This movie’s got Mark Wahlberg and Zooey Deschanel and was written and directed and produced and voice acted by M. Night Shyamalan. ★ Support this podcast on Patreon ★

S11 Ep 1S11: Episode 1: Outbreak
Kicking off this season is 1995’s feel good hit of the year “Outbreak” where the monkey from the TV sitcom “Friends” shows up to infect a small town with a mystery illness that only Dustin Hoffman and his rag-tag gang of super-scientists can stop. It’s a race against time that takes for ever and passes the time with wild conjecture amidst highly unlikely coincidences. Join us as we kick off season 11’s theme “We’re All Gonna Die!” featuring six movies all about the impending end of humanity. ★ Support this podcast on Patreon ★

S10 Ep 6S10: Episode 6: The Chase
“The Chase” screeches this season to a halt as we hit the highway with Charlie Sheen and Kristy Swanson and Josh Mostel and Henry Rollins and The Red Hot Chili Peppers and The Elwes Brothers (Cary and Cassian) and even famed adult film hedgehog Ron Jeremy. I know it sounds too bad to be true. Join us as we wrap up Season 10’s theme “Hot Wheels” with a 90’s era fever-dream nightmare of high speed chases, Butterfinger guns and sex on the interstate going over 100 miles per hour. ★ Support this podcast on Patreon ★

S10 Ep 5S10: Episode 5: Herbie: Fully Loaded
“Herbie: Fully Loaded” is the first G-Rated movie featured on Pick Six Movies. It’s got possessed cars, batdads, “Herbie Speak” and lots of sexual innuendoes. Lindsay Lohan’s contractual obligation to deliver her third and final movie with Disney puts her front and center of this early 2005 NASCAR infused continuation of the VW Beetle starring kid friend series. Except for all the sex stuff, that’s totally inappropriate for children. ★ Support this podcast on Patreon ★

S10 Ep 4S10: Episode 4: Days of Thunder
What happens when you mash up “Top Gun” and NASCAR? You get “Days of Thunder” starring the incredibly talented actor and Operating Thetan Level 8 himself, Tom Cruise. His Mrs. Ex-Tom Cruise Nicole Kidman and Robert Duvall show up to add some class. There’s a young John C. Riley working the pit where he leaned the tricks of the trade regarding “Shake and Bake”. That’s a reference to “Talladega Nights” a movie that’s almost as funny as “Days of Thunder”. Don’t believe it?
