S3 Ep 118118: Steven Petrow's "Stupid Things I Won't Do When I Get Old"

Not long after his 50th birthday, journalist and perennial do-gooder Steven Petrow began making a list of the stupid things he refused to do when he got old. This tally—which kept getting longer and longer—proved to be a highly judgmental, not-quite-mean-spirited-but-close accounting of everything he thought his parents were doing wrong. His list covered all their poor choices, and he personally vowed not to blame the dog for his incontinence (like his dad) — or to forgo a walker because it wrecked his outfit (like his mom). Or to join the chorus of "organ recitals"— that must-discussed litany of aches and pains, surgery and sciatica that's seemingly so popular in senior circles. Steven's new book, STUPID THINGS I WON'T DO WHEN I GET OLD, is equal parts funny, informative, transformative, and at times terrifying—in a GOOD way. Regardless of your age, STUPID THINGS I WON'T DO WHEN I GET OLD may also be the most entertaining and important book you read this year. Steven Petrow is an award-winning journalist and book author who is best known for his Washington Post and New York Times essays on aging, health, and civility. He's also an opinion columnist for USA Today, where he writes about civil discourse and manners. Steven's 2019 TED Talk, "3 Ways to Practice Civility" has been viewed nearly two million times and translated into 16 languages. He's a much sought after public speaker, and you're likely to hear him when you stream NPR or one of your favorite — or least favorite — T.V. networks. Steven also served as the host and executive producer of "The Civilist," a podcast from Public Radio International and North Carolina Public Radio WUNC. A former president of NLGJA: The Association of LGBTQ Journalists, Steven is the recipient of numerous awards and grants, including those from the National Endowment for the Humanities, the Smithsonian Institution, the Ucross Foundation, the Virginia Center for the Creative Arts, and the National Press Foundation. In 2017, he became the named sponsor of the Steven Petrow LGBTQ Fellowship at the VCCA, a prize that is awarded annually. Steven lives in Hillsborough, N.C., with his cocker spaniel, Binx Bolling. S3 Ep 115115: The Jury Duty Debacle with Randall Kenneth Jones

Despite the focus on court show guests this season, the idea of going to court scares me. I want to do everything I can to stay on the right side of the law. It's also come to my attention that, though I try to be a nice guy, people seem to like it when I get all worked up—and when I occasionally eschew the traditional Randy-with-guest format in favor of a story from my past. So, as a tip of the hat to the great legal minds who have blessed us this season, let's go back a few years to when I found myself before a judge, a scenario that almost resulted in one legal professional begging for mercy. Content for today's show is from the book "Show Me: Celebrities, Business Tycoons, Rock Stars, Journalists, Humanitarians, Attack Bunnies & More!" by Randall Kenneth Jones. S3 Ep 113113: TV Executive Joel Relampagos just wants you safe and happy

Mental health advocate Joel Relampagos was born in Manila, Philippines, on January 25, 1982. Decades before Asian hate shockingly gripped our nation, he moved to the US on his 6th birthday. As a Southern California resident, he grew up in a strict, Catholic/Filipino home and dealt with the parental expectations of their son becoming a Doctor. At the age of 19, Joel opened up about his sexuality on MTV's "True Life: I'm Coming Out." After being featured on Advocate Magazine and getting national recognition from the LGBTQ+ and AAPI (Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders) community, Joel decided to pursue a career in entertainment instead of becoming a doctor. In an interview he stated, "There's more than one way to save a life; and telling our stories of struggle can help save the lives of others." Joel produced shows such as FOX's "Hell's Kitchen" and quickly became a young Executive Producer for NBC's "The Biggest Loser." He worked with production companies in the Philippines and China to launch their own version of the hit weight loss competition series. After 10 years with "The Biggest Loser," Joel continued to Executive Producer shows such as ABC's "Boy Band" and the student debt series "Going From Broke" Executive Produced alongside Ashton Kutcher. In his early 30's, Joel began to battle with depression, anxiety and an alcohol addiction. He made the decision to spend 50 days away from entertainment so he can seek help in a rehabilitation facility in Ventura, CA. That experience not only helped Joel recover from his struggles with addiction but he also fell in love with mental health. Joel then launched a free mental health program called Change Your Algorithm. It gained a community of thousands across the globe especially since many were seeking free mental health support during the pandemic. "CYA" offers its services online on changealgorithm.com where mental health classes are lead by certified therapists. Its services were quickly recognized across the globe which led to partnerships with the Silicon Valley education technology company Chegg as well as Ameriprise Financial Firm. CYA has been featured on FOX, ABC and Forbes. As a partner with Chegg, Joel also hosts their student mental health show titled "Breaking the Stigma" where he interviews everyday students to discuss their struggles with mental health. Today, Joel is an Executive Producer for LeBron James' SpringHill Company as they work on launching a special on Stop Asian Hate. The project, titled "Recipe for Change," will be released on June 16th through YouTube Originals. S3 Ep 112112: Michael Kutcher Celebrates our DIFFabilities

The unexpected twin brother of actor Christopher "Ashton" Kutcher, Michael met his first of many challenges at birth. Entering the world notably smaller than his twin at less than five pounds, Michael was hardly responsive and struggled to take his first breath. Thanks to outstanding medical care and his instinct to survive, Michael pulled through his first days and weeks, although not without lasting adverse effects. By age three, Michael was battling significant developmental delays and was diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy before entering Kindergarten. Throughout his childhood, Michael's innate desire to thrive helped him overcome issues with eyesight, speech, and motor skill development. Michael grew up in a loving and supportive family that taught him the value of the health he did have and to make the best of his circumstances. Unfortunately, Michael's uphill battle was only getting started. Diagnosed with heart failure at age 13, Michael was once again faced with an unthinkable challenge of survival. After being given a life expectancy of just three to four weeks, Michael again defeated the odds and successfully received a life-saving heart transplant. It was this second close brush with death that opened Michael's eyes to the fragility of life and inspired him to take control of the future he once thought he wouldn't have. Michael graduated from Clear Creek Amana High School in 1996 and later continued his education, earning his Bachelor's Degree in Business Management and Finance from Mount Mercy University. His medical triumphs and perspective on Cerebral Palsy have led him to work directly with The Cerebral Palsy Foundation and Donate Life as an advocate and public speaker. His determination and passion have even brought him as far as Capitol Hill in Washington D.C., where Michael has raised awareness for local and national fundraising initiatives. Michael has also brought his profound story and message to the Center for Disease Control and the National Institute of Health. When he's not advocating for Disability and Organ Donation awareness, Michael is inspiring audiences around the nation. Michael resides in Denver, Colorado, where he's built a successful career with Transamerica Retirement Solutions. In his free time, Michael enjoys spending time with his family, traveling and playing golf. Michael's message is one of inspiration, hope and appreciation. Michael teaches people how to turn their obstacles into opportunities and to embrace "Diffabilities" versus our "Disabilities. Eric Schurenberg has been the CEO of Mansueto Ventures, the owner of Inc. and Fast Company media properties, since 2018. S3 Ep 109109: The Episode about Jodie Foster without Jodie Foster

Typically, people tune in to Jones.Show to hear me chat with a guest. More often than not, this person will entertain us and teach us something or make me gush uncontrollably because I can't believe they actually agreed to talk to me in the first place. I'm also really big on chatting with people who have influenced my life in a positive way—in hopes that you will get the same benefit. But today, I want to talk about someone and they are NOT here? In Randyland, it's okay to talk about someone behind their back IF you're sharing the love. And this week, my love is HUGE. And since I'm recording it, it's kinda not "behind their back," either. To tell this story, I'm going to read an excerpt from my book, "Show Me." Hopefully, this will also help placate those of you who complained that I never did an audiobook, too! So, let's travel back in time to find me, two supermoms, a Mark Twain-inspired scene, and a 9-year-old actress named Jodie who fostered a brand-new way for 9-year-old me to look at my life. Most impotantly, Before you lead others, you must first be able to lead yourself. Graham has authored 12 books, including two New York Times bestsellers, "You Can Make It Happen: A Nine-Step Plan for Success" and "Teens Can Make It Happen: Nine Steps to Success." His most recent book, "Identity Leadership," is the primary focus of this episode. S3 Ep 98098: Musing about Amusement, Music, Morals & More with Susan Bennett, the Original Voice of Siri

Basically, Susan Bennett is a musician! The voice work, speaking, and acting came later. She was playing the piano by ear by the age of 4, took classical piano lessons for many years, and ended up singing in her first band, "Conglomerate" during her years at Brown University. Susan went on to sing and play keyboards in clubs and restaurants in Atlanta, GA, where she moved in 1972 and still lives. She also did hundreds of commercial jingles (famously, Tillie the All-Time Teller for the first successful ATM in the US) and she sang backup vocals on tour with Burt Bacharach and Roy Orbison. Susan got into voiceover work at Doppler Studios in Atlanta when the voice actor hired for a particular commercial didn't show up, and studio owner Pete Caldwell suggested she do the spot instead. Bam! She got a whole new career! Susan ended up doing spots for Coca Cola, IBM, Papa John's Pizza, McDonald's, AT&T, Wendy's, Goodyear, Ford, Chiquita, etc., for both radio and TV. She also worked on camera for Morrison's, Ford, GA Pacific, IBM, Kimberly Clark, etc. Of course, being the original voice of Siri started a whole new chapter in her life. After she revealed herself as the original voice in 2013, she did hundreds of interviews, appeared on numerous TV shows, and once again began a whole new career—doing speaker events! Petri Hawkins Byrd is the Bailiff on "Judge Judy" which has been the #1 show in first-run syndication for 11 consecutive seasons. The Emmy Award-winning program returned for its 25th season on September 14, 2020. A native of Brooklyn, N.Y., Hawkins Byrd ("Byrd") received his Bachelor of Science degree in criminal justice from John Jay College of Criminal Justice in 1989. During this time, Byrd worked as a court officer in the Brooklyn Family Court system. In 1986, he was transferred to the Manhattan Family Court system, where he worked on a rotating basis with all the judges, including Judge Judith Sheindlin. "I was never bored in her courtroom," he said. "Her get-to-the-point style didn't always sit well with the litigants, and there were times she was definitely glad to have me around." In 1990, Byrd relocated to San Mateo, Calif., to serve as a Special Deputy U.S. Marshall. Three years later, he accepted an offer to work as a student counselor at Monta Vista High School in Santa Clara, Calif. After reading a story about Judge Sheindlin's new book and upcoming television show in a 1995 Liz Smith column, Byrd decided to send a letter congratulating the judge, and jokingly asked if she would be interested in having him serve at her side again. To his surprise, Judge Sheindlin returned Byrd's letter with a phone call and offered him the job. In addition to his work on "Judge Judy," Byrd has appeared numerous times on stage as a stand-up comedian and actor. He has also acted in films, television and commercials, as well as provided voiceover work for radio, television and video games. Byrd's success has also made him a sought-after motivational speaker. S3 Ep 93093: Give My Regards to Broadway's Michael Rupert

In "Falsettos," Michael Rupert created the central role of Marvin, a stressed-out husband who realizes that he's gay and leaves his wife and son for a man while struggling to act responsibly toward his family. Singer, actor, director, and composer Rupert has often appeared on Broadway in musical theater and is also known for his musical scores. Born in Denver, Colorado, in 1951, Rupert appeared in various bit parts on popular television series already in his teens and early twenties. He made his Broadway debut in "The Happy Time" (1968), a musical by Kander and Ebb about a French-Canadian photographer who sees the world and gains fame, then returns to a provincial life in his hometown. The show stared Robert Goulet (who won the Tony® for Best Actor in a Musical), and Rupert, who played the photographer's impressionable nephew, earned a Tony nomination for Best Featured Actor in a Musical. In the mid-1970s Rupert took over the title role in the musical "Pippin," set in eighth-century France and focusing on the son of Charlemagne (Pippin). Rupert returned to Broadway as one of the six performers in "Shakespeare's Cabaret (1981)," consisting of musical settings of Shakespeare's lyrics by Lance Mulcahy. In his next appearance on Broadway, Rupert gave a stand-out performance as Oscar in the 1986 revival of "Sweet Charity," with a cast that also featured Debbie Allen and Bebe Neuwirth. For his performance as the claustrophobic accountant who gets stuck in an elevator with the leading lady and later becomes romantically involved with her, Rupert won the Tony for Best Featured Actor in a Musical. It was in 1981 that Rupert assumed the persona of Marvin – a role he is particularly known for – in the original off-Broadway production of "March of the Falsettos," written by William Finn. The character Marvin, a troubled Jewish husband and father who realizes that he's gay and faces a dilemma as he weighs duty against desire, had already appeared in Finn's musical "In Trousers" (1979), which did not feature Rupert; but Rupert's portrayal of Marvin in the "March of the Falsettos" and its sequel, "Falsettoland" (1990), as well as in "Falsettos" (1992), which joined both plays on Broadway, became the benchmark performance. Rupert's abilities as a creator were revealed in the off-Broadway musical "3 Guys Naked from the Waist Down" (1985), a high-energy comedy about three disgruntled comedians, for which Rupert wrote the score. His talents as both composer and performer came to Broadway in "Mail" (1988), an epistolary musical about a novelist – played by Rupert – who, after hiding away from his unsatisfying life, reads out letters that had piled up during his absence. Rupert wrote the score, Jerry Colker the book and lyrics. In 1991 Rupert took over the leading role of Stine in "City of Angels" and later stepped in to play Tateh in the musical "Ragtime." Subsequent Broadway roles include Professor Callahan in the original cast of "Legally Blonde" (2007) and Pitkin in "On The Town." (2014) Other off-Broadway and regional credits include "Ancient History," "Putting It Together," "Elegies," "Baby," "Thrill Me," and "Adrift in Macao." S3 Ep 91091: Retired Good Morning America Chief Phil Beuth has Great Stories to Tell

Phil Beuth spent his entire broadcasting career with one company. As the first employee of a fledgling media startup in 1955, Phil worked his way up over 40 years, as Capital Cities grew to become one of America's most influential and successful media companies—and ultimately, the owner of ABC. Born into a blue-collar neighborhood of Staten Island in 1932 to working-class parents, Phil had a mild form of cerebral palsy that gave him a signature pigeon-toed limp all his life. The young struggling family was crushed by Phil's father's tragic death when Phil was just four. His mother subsequently parked her young, physically impaired son with her step-father, an embittered, war-wounded veteran who ran a ramshackle "Sanford and Son" junk business out of his backyard. Phil Beuth would ultimately raise himself by his orthopedic bootstraps to become a respected and honored leader in his field, a member of two Broadcasting Halls of Fame, head of "Good Morning America" and a Division President of ABC. A very proud graduate of Union College and Syracuse University, Phil's colleagues, business associates, friends, and fans include Ted Knight, Regis Philbin, Audrey Hepburn, Jack Hanna, Charlie Gibson, Sir Paul McCartney, Frank Sinatra, Cher, Jackie Robinson, Barbara Walters, Warren Buffett, Sammy Davis Jr., Burt Reynolds, Red Skelton, Muhammad Ali, and many more. Phil's story is a chronicle of that "Mad Men" golden era of television, a time when broadcasting as we know it came into being. It is also a powerful lesson in forging a career that is ethical and prosperous; "doing well and doing good." S3 Ep 89089: Poet Taylor Mali Loves Rolling the Dice

Taylor Mali, a TED "Best of the Web" speaker, has done little more than write & perform poetry—and teach others to do the same—since 2000. His poems "are clear. They are almost always hysterically funny, often sentimental, appealing, accessible. And smart" (Bob Holman). He is a vocal advocate of teachers and the nobility of teaching, having taught in one capacity or another since 1990. He spent nine years in the classroom teaching everything from English and history to math and S.A.T. test preparation. He has performed and lectured for teachers all over the world, and his 12-year long Quest for One Thousand Teachers, completed in April of 2012, helped create 1,000 new teachers through "poetry, persuasion, and perseverance," an achievement he commemorated by donating 12 inches of his hair to the American Cancer Society. He has performed or taught poetry in over 50 foreign countries and in every state of the U.S. (except Wyoming!). Taylor Mali is the author most recently of "The Whetting Stone" (Rattle 2017), a "life-affirmingly dark" look at the death of his first wife. He is also the author of "Bouquet of Red Flags" (Write Bloody Books 2014), a poetic celebration of "a marriage I did not yet realize was over," "What Teachers Make: In Praise of the Greatest Job in the World" (Putnam 2012) as well as two other books of poetry, "The Last Time As We Are" (Write Bloody Books 2009) and "What Learning Leaves" (Hanover 2002). He received a New York Foundation for the Arts Grant in 2001 to develop "Teacher! Teacher!" a one-man show about poetry, teaching, and math which won the jury prize for best solo performance at the 2001 Comedy Arts Festival. Formerly president of Poetry Slam, Inc., the non-profit organization that oversees all poetry slams in North America, Taylor Mali makes his living entirely as a spoken-word and voiceover artist these days, traveling around the country performing and teaching workshops as well as doing occasional commercial voiceover work. He has narrated several books on tape, including "The Great Fire" for which he won the Golden Earphones Award for children's narration. S3 Ep 88088: Pat Benatar & Patricia Giraldo are Invincible

Pat Benatar has always been a rule-breaker and a trailblazer. She remains a bold and distinctive artist both on stage and on record, and now, after more than three decades in rock 'n' roll, she's a bonafide living legend. A four-time Grammy winner, Benatar is a classically trained mezzo-soprano. During the 1980s, Benatar had two RIAA-certified Multi-Platinum albums, five RIAA-certified Platinum albums, three RIAA-certified Gold albums and 19 Top 40 singles, including the Top 10 hits, "Hit Me With Your Best Shot," "Love Is a Battlefield," "We Belong" and "Invincible." During the early days of MTV Benatar was one of the most heavily played artists on the popular music channel. Her hits continue to be as unforgettable now as they were at the dawn of MTV, when Pat emerged, fearless, fighting and forging a path for other female rock stars around the world. In the spring of 1979, Benatar was introduced to Neil "Spyder" Giraldo, an up and coming guitarist. In Giraldo, Benatar found someone as strong as her, someone who could match the same firepower, someone who could inspire her, while being inspired by her. Their connection was instantaneous. Pat and Spyder married in 1982 and have two daughters, Haley and Hana, and two granddaughters. Today, they record and perform exclusively as "Pat Benatar & Neil Giraldo." The pair is still selling out concerts and wowing audiences after four decades in music together. Theirs is a chemistry that will, undoubtedly, be thrilling music-lovers forever. S3 Ep 87087: Hoda and Jenna's Joanne LaMarca Mathisen

Joanne LaMarca Mathisen is the Executive Producer of "TODAY with Hoda and Jenna." She is also the co-host of Sirius XM's "Happy Hour" on Today Show Radio and an enthusiastic lifelong Cher fan. She first joined NBC in 1987 as part of the company's storied and highly competitive Page Program. She worked her way up to field producer covering, among many other assignments, more red carpet events (Oscars, Emmys, Grammies, etc.) than she can remember. In 1996, she left TODAY for "Day and Date," a new daytime magazine show on CBS. The following year, she moved to the Wall Street Journal's pioneering (but short-lived) business news channel, WBIS, where she helped launch a morning news program. That led to a job as a producer at CNBC, the cable business news channel, from late 1997 to 1999. Then it was back to TODAY, where she was a producer and writer at "Later TODAY," co-hosted by Florence Henderson. She subsequently won multiple Emmy awards as well as a Gracie while overseeing the 4th hour of TODAY hosted by Kathie Lee Gifford and Hoda Kotb. Joanne left NBC in 2017 to spend more time with her family, including her husband, CNBC's Tyler Mathisen, and teenage son. She returned to NBC in 2019 to helm the new Hoda Kotb and Jenna Bush Hager broadcast. "When Joanne walks in the morning meeting, she is like a bright light," says longtime friend and colleague Hoda Kotb. "You're already happy and you don't really know why. S3 Ep 86086: Erin Brockovich on Being Your Own Superhero

Erin Brockovich is an environmental activist, consumer advocate, renowned crusader, and champion fighter whose courageous case against Pacific Gas and Electric was dramatized in an Oscar-winning film that earned Julia Roberts an Oscar in 2001. Julia's Brockovich may be frozen in time in the late 20th century, but Erin's Brockovich is fixated on the issues of today. She is older and wiser, yet wickedly funny and refreshing. Nonetheless, like her cinematic Ghost of Brockovich Past, she is still a force of nature and FOR nature. Erin is the president of Brockovich Research & Consulting and the founder of the Erin Brockovich Foundation, a nonprofit organization created to educate and empower communities in their fight for clean water. She is the co-author of "Take It from Me: Life's a Struggle but You Can Win" and she recently launched a podcast, "Superman's Not Coming," on PodcastOne. In Erin's long-awaited new book —"Superman's Not Coming: Our National Water Crisis and What We the People Can Do about it" — she makes clear why we are in trouble and warns us that if we're waiting for someone to save us, Superman isn't coming. Nor is the government or the environmental agencies. No one is going to solve this for us. It is up to us, we the people, and Erin shows us how. Actress Katey Sagal has accepted the challenge of bringing today's eternally turbo-charged Erin to life on television. The "The Sons of Anarchy" and "Married With Children" veteran—most recently seen on "The Conners"—is set to star in "Rebel," the Brockovich-inspired drama that has been picked up for a pilot commitment at ABC. Sagal will be joined by castmates Andy Garcia and John Corbett. This is Erin's third appearance on JONES.SHOW! S2 Ep 84084: Rita Rudner is Siri-ously Funny

A house-filling favorite in Las Vegas since she opened as one of the hottest tickets in town in June 2000, Rudner is known for her epigrammatic one-liners. Over the course of a multi-year run she sold almost two million tickets and became the longest-running solo comedy show in the history of Las Vegas. She was named Las Vegas's Comedian Of The Year nine years in a row, received The Nevada Ballet's Woman Of The Year Award and was given the 2017 Casino Entertainment Legend Award. Rita's first solo HBO special, "Rita Rudner's One Night Stand," was nominated for several awards, as was her eponymous English BBC television show that later appeared in the USA on A&E. Rudner's two one-hour specials for HBO, "Born to Be Mild" and "Married Without Children," were ratings standouts and she performed all over the country, filling Carnegie Hall in New York three times. In 2008 "Rita Rudner: Live From Las Vegas" was PBS's first ever stand-up comedy special. Rita Rudner has written five books and is a frequent collaborator with her writer/producer husband of thirty years, Martin Bergman. She moved to New York at the age of fifteen to become a dancer on Broadway. She appeared in several shows, including the original productions of "Follies" and "Mack and Mabel." It was while in "Annie" on Broadway that she began exploring the comedy clubs of Manhattan. In the early '80s, Rudner took a full-time leap from chorus lines to punch lines and was soon a regular guest on both "Late Night with David Letterman" and "The Tonight Show." In June 2016, Rita was invited and honored to speak about her career and technique in comedy at Cambridge University, England. In 2017 she was invited by Oprah Winfrey to appear on a cruise to Alaska that Oprah arranged in partnership with Holland America. In 2018, Rita's tenth TV special was released – "A Tale of Two Dresses." She will begin an exclusive contract with Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, hopefully in the not-too-distant future. #TweakYourDreams Rita Rudner Web: http://www.ritarudner.com/ Twitter: https://twitter.com/ritarudner Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/wwp Jones.Show Online: Join us in the Jones.Show Lounge on Facebook Twitter (Randy): https://twitter.com/randallkjones Instagram (Randy): https://www.instagram.com/randallkennethjones/ Facebook (Randy): https://www.facebook.com/mindzoo/ LinkedIn (Randy): https://www.linkedin.com/in/randallkennethjones/ Web: RandallKennethJones.com Twitter (Susan): https://twitter.com/SiriouslySusan Instagram (Susan): https://www.instagram.com/siriouslysusan/ Facebook (Susan): https://www.facebook.com/siriouslysusan/ LinkedIn (Susan): https://www.linkedin.com/in/susan-bennett-8607312/ Web: SusanCBennett.com www.Jones.Show

S2 Ep 83083: Jeremiah Pauley's Journey to Wounded Warrior Project

Jeremiah Pauley grew up in the blue-collar town of Massillon, Ohio. When he thinks back, he says he can still hear the United States National Anthem playing at local sporting events."I come from a very patriotic family," says Jeremiah. "I remember watching television during Operation Desert Storm and how I admired those men and women who served. I figured I owed it to them and the many that came before to dedicate myself to our country." For Jeremiah, his call to service led him to the U.S. Army recruiting office in 1996, where he told recruiters he wanted to be airborne infantry. It took nearly ten years before he was deployed to Tal Afar, Iraq. Four months later, the unthinkable happened. "I was injured by an improvised explosive device (IED). Shrapnel from the roadside bomb entered my right arm above the elbow," says Jeremiah. If it weren't for the immediate treatment he received by the medic on hand, Jeremiah would have probably not survived. "I was at a hospital in Mosul for about a day, then at Landstuhl Regional Medical Center in Germany for about a week," he says. "I then spent about three months at Walter Reed Army Medical Center." Due to his injuries, he was medically retired from the Army in 2007 as a staff sergeant. Jeremiah says it took him a long time to adapt and overcome his own negativity. But adapt, he did. Jeremiah is currently a spokesman for Wounded Warrior Project. JONES.SHOW is a weekly podcast featuring host Randall Kenneth Jones (author, speaker & creative communications consultant) and Susan C. Lesley Lyons is a Certified Holistic Health Coach, an entrepreneur, and a professional singer. She maintained a lucrative cleaning business for 15 years while she traveled the country performing on stage as a backup singer. Lesley made several live television appearances and provided background vocals on several hit albums for country music artist, her sister, Sara Evans. Lesley is a graduate of The Institute of Integrative Nutrition and is currently enrolled in the Advanced Gut Health Course to be completed in November 2020. She completed her Health Coaching Certification in November 2019. Following her certification, she started her own successful health coaching business aptly named "Lesley, the Health Coach." Her mission is to help people achieve better overall health by bringing awareness to their unique wellness needs through simple and sustainable long-term changes using a whole health mind/body/spirit approach. This mission was born out of her personal wellness journey. Lesley is the mother of five children and has been married for over 25 years. Over the past decade, her family has faced several health challenges. These include her son's rare genetic cartilage defect, her daughter's melanoma diagnosis, and the discovery that she, her husband, and their five children all had a genetic defect called MTHFR. Through all of this, Lesley was determined to gain all the knowledge she could to provide the best possible outcomes. She tirelessly researched and radically changed their diets. And although the element of nutrition was of importance, she didn't stop there. Lesley began to evaluate her life as a whole. This journey of self-discovery is ongoing still and will continue until the day she dies. Lesley now embraces life and her body--something she was at war with most of her life--and is content to let her inner voice be her guide. Her hope is to come alongside her clients and help them find the courage to silence their inner critics and ignore the so-called "experts." Her desire is that her clients find ultimate peace and freedom with food, their bodies, and live their lives to the fullest. S2 Ep 81081: Kamelot's Thomas Youngblood is the Center of the Universe

Thomas Youngblood is the guitarist, founding member and one of the main creative forces behind the progressive/symphonic power metal band KAMELOT, founded in 1994. Besides guitar, Thomas likes playing drums and sometimes composes on keyboards. He's also the founder and director of KAMELOT's own record label, Kamelot Media Group (KMG Recordings), launched on July 2010 with distribution through E1. KAMELOT has proved to be one of the most unique and prestigious acts to come along in decades. They have held their very own, very special position in the world of rock and heavy music: their elaborate melodic metal has always opened itself in a remarkably clever way to like-minded styles, integrating progressive elements as well as cross-references to doom/gothic metal and classical music, which have allowed their songs to define their own genre. While building his band and his own songwriting skills, Thomas worked in product management and operations for apparel companies like Vanity Fair and Kappa. Working in the business world taught Thomas the necessary skills to deal with touring, record companies and also contracts. He remains a consultant for the industry and is the main force behind the apparel line for KAMELOT. Thomas Youngblood has co-written and released 11 full albums with KAMELOT and appeared as special guest artist on several more. He has toured nearly every continent over the past 12 years and continues to grow with his band and his unique style of playing. S2 Ep 71071: Erin Brockovich Isn't Holding Back

Say the name Erin Brockovich and you think, strong, tough, stubborn and sexy. Erin is all that and more. In the '90s, Erin Brockovich spearheaded an investigation revealing that Pacific Gas & Electric had been poisoning the water in Hinkley, California. As chronicled in the 2000 film "Erin Brockovich," PG&E was forced to pay out the largest toxic tort injury settlement in U.S. history: $333 million. Since that time, Erin has continued in her quest to empower the people to "right wrong." It seems that 2020 is shaping up to be another breakout year for Erin. Her new podcast will launch this spring and her latest book, "Superman's Not Coming," is scheduled for release on August 25, 2020. Additionally, ABC has given a put pilot dedication to "Insurgent," a drama inspired by Erin's life in the years following "Erin Brockovich," the movie. The program is being written and executive produced by "Gray's Anatomy" showrunner, Krista Vernoff. She is a modern-day "David" who loves a good brawl with today's "Goliaths." She thrives on being the voice for those who don't know how to yell. She is a rebel. She is a fighter. She is a mother. She is a woman. She is you and me.
