After we definitely reviewed the first movie in our 100th episode, we knew we'd have to come back and see what Eddie Murphy's classic character had in store for us next. Beverly Hills Cop II, released May 20th in 1987, has some of what you loved about the first film. Murphy himself considers it to be "the most successful mediocre movie of all time". It tells the story of Tong, a photographer, who manages to take a photo of a woman he sees in a mirage. Critical Condition, released January 16th, 1987, is a Richard Pryor vehicle that is perhaps the most January-esq comedy we've ever done, in that it's not funny, has boring characters, nothing really happens, and was most likely dumped in January because it was bound to be a flop if released in any other month.
