S2 Ep 282Goaltending problems & Carter Hutton joins the show

The fun came to a crashing halt for the Edmonton Oilers. After winning eight games in a row, the Oilers now find themselves on a two-game losing streak after falling 5-1 to the Florida Panthers on Saturday night. Saturday wasn't a pretty one for Edmonton. Things were looking okay for the Oilers heading towards the first intermission; they were down only 1-0 thanks to a Carter Verhaeghe. However, two quick goals to close the opening frame gave the Panthers breathing room. Zach Hyman scored to make it 3-1, but the Panthers continued to press, getting goals from Sam Bennett and Verhaeghe again. If you have thoughts from the weekend of the Oilers' action, join Tyler Yaremchuk and Liam Horrobin live at noon on the Oilersnation YouTube channel. Leave your questions, comments and concerns in the Finning/CAT live chat, where they will be welcomed throughout the show. Also on the show, former NHL goaltender Carter Hutton will join Tyler and Liam live at around 12:20. With Hutton, the three of them will talk about the Oilers goaltending tandem of Stuart Skinner and Calvin Pickard, the organization handling of young goaltenders, and future trade options for Ken Holland. Finally, towards the end of the show, they will discuss the Betway wrap, their Alberta Blue Cross moment of the weekend, and then participate in the Wendy's Daily Faceoff Survivor Pool. You can expect all of that and more on today's edition of Oilersnation Everyday with Tyler Yaremchuk. S2 Ep 281The win streak ends at eight

The Edmonton Oilers' win streak ended last night, but it wasn't due to a lack of effort.Andrei Vasilevskiy proved once again why he is the best goaltender in the world. The Tampa Bay goaltender withstood the Oilers onslaught, making 50 saves in a 7-4 win for the Lightning. Steven Stamkos helped him with some run support, scoring four goals, with the other three coming from Nikita Kucherov, Tyler Motte, and Anthony Cirelli.Unfortunately, the Oilers didn't get the same goaltending as the Bolts. Stuart Skinner was playing well up until the third period. The Edmonton goaltender allowed three goals in the final frame, putting the game out of reach for his team. It's disappointing but just a minor blimp in a successful run for Skinner and the team. After watching last night, is it time general manager Ken Holland found a goaltender to help Skinner? Perhaps this was the final evidence the team needed to prove that Skinner couldn't do the job alone. If that's the case, then who should the Oilers be looking to bring in to support him? That will be today's Sherwood Ford GIANT Question. If you have thoughts on last night's game, head to the Oilersnation YouTube channel at noon to catch the show live. By watching the show live, you can leave your questions, comments and concerns in the Finning/CAT YouTube chat. However, no Tyler Yaremchuk is on the show today, so Liam Horrobin and Aaron Bordato will entertain you. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

S2 Ep 280Seeking win #9 versus the Bolts

The quest for the Edmonton Oilers ninth win in a row tonight when they go head-to-head with the Tampa Bay Lightning. The Oilers and Bolts have faced each other once this season. That time around, Tampa Bay came away with two points after beating the Oilers 6-4 despite being down 2-0 in the first period. Derek Ryan had a pair of goals that day, and James Hamblin scored his first in the NHL. Evan Bouchard also helped out with the scoring. Edmonton will look for a much better outcome tonight against an inconsistent Tampa Bay lineup. In their last handful of games, the Lightning have a 3-2-0 record; however, their most recent result was a loss. That defeat came on Tuesday night versus the Vancouver Canucks when they fell 4-1. The lone goal came from Brayden Point in the first period. Also on the show, today's Sherwood Ford GIANT question is, how many points will the Oilers finish with this season? After 26 games, the Oilers have 27 points and a record of 13-12-1. To help get you prepared for the action down at Rogers Place, today will be a Sherwood Ford GIANT Pre-Game show edition of Oilersnation Everyday. Tyler Yaremchuk and Liam Horrobin will be around as usual, as well as Jay Downton. If you want to contribute something to the conversation, head to the Oilersnation YouTube channel during the show. Once you're there, leave your questions, comments and concerns in the Finning/CAT YouTube live chat. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

S2 Ep 279McDavid wins in Battle of the Connors

The Edmonton Oilers extended their win streak to eight games last night after a 4-1 victory over the Chicago Blackhawks. Things didn't look pretty to start, though. Rookie sensation Connor Bedard scored a fantastic goal, which would've beat every goaltender in the NHL. However, that was the only ounce of success the Blackhawks found last night. From then on, the Oilers took control of the game, entering the first intermission with a 2-1 lead. Ryan Nugent-Hopkins opened the scoring for Edmonton, tucking home his sixth of the season just under the crossbar. Shortly after, Sam Gagner scored the second with his fourth. In the back 40, Leon Draisaitl got a fortunate bounce that beat Petr Mrazek, and Zach Hyman sealed the win with a powerplay goal in the third. Overall, it wasn't the Oilers' best game of this streak, but they found a way to secure two points, which is something they couldn't do earlier in the year. To break everything down from last night, Tyler Yaremchuk and Liam Horrobin go live at noon mountain time for Oilersnation Everyday. As always, the Finning/CAT YouTube chat is live throughout the show for you to leave your questions, comments and concerns. Tyler and Liam welcome your thoughts, so do not hesitate to drop them in the live chat. Later on the show, Frank Seravalli from Daily Faceoff joins Tyler and Liam. Frank will give an update on the news surrounding the Oilers and updates from around the NHL. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

S2 Ep 278Connor vs Connor

The Edmonton Oilers made it seven wins in a row on Sunday afternoon with a 4-1 win over the New Jersey Devils. Calvin Pickard helped them lead the way with 26 saves in his second start. While offensive, the Oilers got goals from Evan Bouchard, Connor McDavid, Derek Ryan and Evander Kane. Edmonton will look for their 8th win in a row tonight when they take on the Chicago Blackhawks. The Blackhawks sit tied for last in the NHL with the San Jose Sharks but have won two of their previous three. Chicago is led by rookie sensation Connor Bedard, who has 11 goals and 23 points in 27 games. Tonight will be the first time Bedard and McDavid will go head-to-head in the NHL, and to help you prepare for the game, Tyler Yaremchuk and Liam Horrobin will be live on Oilersnation Everyday. Since it is a Sherwood Ford GIANT Pre-Game, Jay Downton will also be on the show. The three of them will continue on their Betway gameday bets challenge, which Jay has taken control of after a dismal start to the year.If you want to contribute to the conversation, head to the Oilersnation YouTube channel during the live show. S2 Ep 277Back to 500!

The Edmonton Oilers stayed hot over the weekend with back-to-back wins to extend their win streak to seven games. The first win game on Friday night in what was a tight contest versus the Minnesota Wild. A controversial non-call on Evander Kane on Wild defenceman Jonas Brodin, who left the game, led to Evan Bouchard's game-winning goal. That goal gave the Oilers a 4-3 victory to pull them to within one game of a .500 record. The Oilers followed that up with a 4-1 win over the New Jersey Devils. Calvin Pickard was between the pipes for that game and put together a great performance. The veteran goaltender stopped 26 of 27 shots, with the lone goal coming in the third period. Edmonton gave him strong run support with goals from Derek Ryan, Evan Bouchard, Evander Kane and Connor McDavid. With the win, the Oilers are now back to 500 on the season with a 12-12-1 record, which leaves them three points out of a wildcard spot. What did you think of the Oilers two games over the weekend? Head over to the Oilersnation YouTube channel and leave your questions, comments and concerns in the Finning/CAT YouTube live chat. Throughout the show, Tyler Yaremchuk and Liam Horrobin will read your comments and bring them into the show.Jeff Marek from Sportsnet will also join the show. The three of them will talk about the Oilers run of form, what the future holds for this team and who has been the biggest surprise in the NHL this season. Hosted on Acast. S2 Ep 276Looking for win #6 versus the Minnesota Wild

The Edmonton Oilers are looking for their sixth win in a row tonight when they take on the Minnesota Wild. The Wild's season has been similar to the Oilers, with both teams failing to live up to expectations, resulting in the firing of the head coach. The last night these two teams met was a close encounter through the first two periods. However, the Oilers allowed Minnesota to score five goals in the third period, giving the Wild a 7-4 victory. In that game, Warren Foegele scored a pair of goals along with Evan Bouchard and Evander Kane.Things are different now for Edmonton; hopefully, that trend continues tonight.Get prepared for the action with Tyler Yaremchuk, Liam Horrobin, and Jay Downton for a Sherwood Ford GIANT Pre-Game Show edition of Oilersnation Everyday. S2 Ep 275The Edmonton Oilers are so back!

The Edmonton Oilers returned to the ice last night after a long five-day break. Lots happened during that break, with news coming out on Connor McDavid's Canadian Walk of Fame event, Jack Campbell's future in Edmonton and a potential Philip Broberg trade. However, none of you want to hear about that today! Instead, you all want to discuss the Oilers dominant performance versus the Carolina Hurricanes last night. The boys came out hot and heavy scoring on their first two shots of the game. A great forecheck by Warren Foegele led to a Ryan McLeod goal and then another excellent faceoff set play was finished off by Zach Hyman to make it 2-0.Hyman's night didn't end there. The Oilers scored two more goals to take his tally up to 15 goals, making him well on pace to score a career high in goals. That leads to today's Sherwood Ford GIANT question on the show: where does Hyman rank amongst the best free agent signings this decade? If you want to contribute to the show, head over to the Oilersnation YouTube during the live event and leave your thoughts in the Finning/CAT live chat. Your questions, comments, and concerns will be welcomed throughout the show, so do not hesitate to leave your opinions there. Finally, the Shohei Ohtani news is building and Tyler Yaremchuk is struggling to contain his excitement! To close out the show, Tyler will give you the latest update on how close the Toronto Blue Jays are to getting the MLB MVP. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

S2 Ep 274The Oilers are back in action & Frank Seravalli joins the show

We have made it to the other side of the Edmonton Oilers five day break! Tonight, the Oilers will go head-to-head with the Carolina Hurricanes at Rogers Place. The two battled it out the other week, and things did not go well for Edmonton. The Oilers were down 4-0 early in the first period, resulting in Stuart Skinner getting yanked and replaced by Calvin Pickard. The first two periods were miserable, but the third felt like a turning point. Edmonton pushed harder in the third and looked like a real hockey team. The team hasn't looked back since then, winning four games in a row. Can they make it five wins in a row tonight?Tyler Yaremchuk and Liam Horrobin will be around for a Sherwood Ford GIANT Pre-Game show edition of Oilersnation Everyday. Along with Tyler and Liam, Jay Downton will join the show to help you prepare for tonight's Edmonton Oilers action. We are only one day away from Edmonton Oilers hockey!Tomorrow night, the Oilers drop the puck with the Carolina Hurricanes and we will have a full preview for you tomorrow on Oilersnation Everyday. Before that, there's still plenty to talk about. News broke today from Kevin Weekes that the Oilers are shopping Philip Broberg. S2 Ep 272Campbell's future & Bruce Curlock joins the show

There has been no Edmonton Oilers hockey for the past four days, so we are only two days away from a game day. The Oilers will return on the ice Wednesday night at Rogers Place to take on the Carolina Hurricanes. If you remember back to their previous matchup, you could argue that the third period was the most significant turning point of the Oilers season. Before we get too far ahead of ourselves, though, there are some other most recent Edmonton conversations we need to talk about. Jack Campbell is the biggest headline in the city after the rumours swirled around about his return to Edmonton. Well, his performance on Saturday night put a hold on that idea. Campbell allowed four goals on 35 shots in a 6-4 loss to the Texas Rangers. Two of the goals were not up to NHL standard either. So what now? Bruce Curlock from Oilersnation will give us his thoughts on Campbell's future in the NHL, especially on what it would take for him to return to Edmonton. Additionally, Bruce will give us an update on other prospects in the Oilers system, including Cameron Wright, Jake Stonehouse and Carter Savoie. If you want to contribute something to the conversation, head over to the Oilersnation YouTube channel and leave your thoughts in the Finning/CAT YouTube live chat. S2 Ep 271Oilers win & Frank Seravalli joins the show

The Edmonton Oilers left until late but came from behind to defeat the Winnipeg Jets 3-1. With the win, the Oilers extended their win streak to four, which means we are now one win away from Tyler Yaremchuk, who is saying the team is officially back.Edmonton were the better team on the night, but Winnipeg scored the first goal. Cole Perfetti scored on the powerplay, and it wasn't until late in the third that the Oilers tied the game. Darnell Nurse got a lucky one from Connor Hellebuyck, who closed his a little too early. Shortly after, Leon Draisaitl scored from his office on the powerplay to give the Oilers their first lead. To close out the game, Ryan McLeod sealed the victory with an empty net goal for his first of the season ending his road trip in Mundare. Later on in the show, Frank Seravalli from Daily Faceoff will join Tyler Yaremchuk and Liam Horrobin. Frank will give us the reasoning behind his first trade targets board of the year, which already has one player crossed off. Yesterday, the Vancouver Canucks acquired Nikita Zadorov from the Calgary Flames for two draft picks. Frank will give some insight into how that trade went down.Additionally, he will give us his thoughts on where the Edmonton Oilers could look for a trade partner. Furthermore, rumours are swirling around a potential call-up for Jack Campbell. Frank will give us an update on that speculation. If you have something you'd like to contribute to the conversation, head over to the Oilersnation YouTube channel and leave your questions, comments and concerns in the Finning/CAT YouTube chat. S2 Ep 270The bus has arrived in Winnipeg & Trade Targets

The Edmonton Oilers seemed to have found their groove in the last few games. Wins over the Washington Capitals, Anaheim Ducks and Vegas Golden Knights in the last seven days have brought belief back to the city. Connor McDavid has 12 points in his last three games, Evander Kane is scoring goals for fun, and Darnell Nurse is playing up to his contract. Things are going well, but tonight the Oilers have another test on their hands. Edmonton has taken the long bus ride to Winnipeg to face off against the Jets tonight. Winnipeg sits third in the Central Division with a 12-7-2 record. Two of those seven losses have come in their last couple of games, falling 2-0 to the Dallas Stars and 3-2 to the Nashville Predators. The Jets will have a boost to their lineup, with Gabriel Vallardi returning tonight. Tyler Yaremchuk and Liam Horrobin will break down everything for you heading into tonight's matchup, along with Jay Downton. Of course, today's edition of the show will be a Sherwood Ford GIANT Pre-Game Show episode of Oilersnation Everyday. If you want to contribute something to the conversation, head over to the Oilersnation YouTube channel and leave your questions, comments and concerns in the Finning/CAT YouTube live chat throughout the show. Frank Seravalli from Daily Faceoff released his first trade targets list of the season. On the show, Tyler, Liam and Jay will look through the list and see who could be available for the Oilers to acquire. Additionally, there is one Edmonton Oiler on the list.  Hosted on Acast. S2 Ep 269The Slaying of the Knights

The Edmonton Oilers almost let two points slip away last night in the third period but managed to hold on and secure the win in a shootout over the Vegas Golden Knights. Heading into the third period, the Oilers held a 4-2 lead over Vegas. Sam Gagner opened up the scoring in his return to the lineup with his third of the year in the first period. In the second, Edmonton scored three, with Mattias Janmark getting his first goal of the season, along with Connor McDavid and Evander Kane. However, the Golden Knights never went away. Mark Stone and Mike Amadio scored in the second period, and then later in the game, Ben Hutton and Keagan Kolsar scored to send the game into overtime. Overtime would solve nothing, though, so in the shootout, McDavid and Ryan Nugent-Hopkins scored to give the Oilers the win and two points. Tyler Yaremchuk and Liam Horrobin will break down everything from last night's game on Oilersnation Everyday. They will look through all the goals and give their comments and concerns on the Oilers right now. If you want to contribute something to the conversation, do not hesitate to leave your questions, comments and concerns in the Finning/CAT YouTube live chat. Your thoughts will always be welcomed throughout the show. Later in the show, Liam's game will make its weekly appearance, giving you a chance to win a prize. S2 Ep 268A big matchup versus the Vegas Golden Knights

Edmonton will find out tonight if the Oilers are "Back" when they go head-to-head with the Vegas Golden Knights at Rogers Place. It is never a perfect time to play the Golden Knights, but now might be a better time than others with the way Vegas has been playing. The Golden Knights are 3-6-1 in their last ten games, with their most recent loss coming last night versus the Calgary Flames. Of course, you can never take Vegas lightly, but the Oilers have been playing some good hockey in their previous couple of games, so making it three wins in a row isn't out of the realm of possibility. Tyler Yaremchuk will be back on the show today after his week away. Tyler will give us a recap of his trip down south before moving on to his thoughts on the Oilers from the past week. Along with Tyler, Jay Downton and Liam Horrobin will join Tyler for a Sherwood Ford GIANT Pre-Game edition of Oilersnation Everyday. If you want to contribute something to the conversation, leave your questions, comments and concerns in the Finning/CAT YouTube chat. S2 Ep 267The Oilers offence is thriving

After two convincing wins in a row, the Edmonton Oilers look to have found their identity. Connor McDavid is dominating the ice, Leon Draisaitl is scoring from his office, and Ryan Nugent-Hopkins is finding his 100-point touch, which leads to the question, are the Edmonton Oilers back? It felt like last night when the Oilers put eight past the Anaheim Ducks. Despite going down early, the team never seemed troubled. Max Jones gave the Ducks a couple of leads, but goals from Connor McDavid, Zach Hyman, Leon Draisaitl, Ryan Nugent-Hopkins, Evander Kane, and Mattias Eklhom helped the Oilers cross the line.Even with the win, Edmonton are still 7th in the Pacific Division. They have 15 points through their first 20 games, which puts them six points behind the Seattle Kraken in the final wildcard spot. Come and join Liam Horrobin for today's edition of Oilersnation Everyday. He will recap everything that happened last night and Friday's game versus the Washington Capitals. If you want to add something to the conversation, leave your questions, comments and concerns in the Finning/CAT YouTube live chat throughout the show. Later in the show, Tyler Yaremchuk will sign in from the Philadelphia Airport. Liam will pick Tyler's brain on what he has seen from the Oilers this past week, how he thinks they will shape up tomorrow against the Vegas Golden Knights and how his trip down to see Frank Seravalli went. To close out the show, Liam and Aaron will look around the sporting world with The Menu presented by DoorDash and their bets for the night over on Betway. Shoutout to the episode’s sponsors: Betway: https://betway.com/en/sports Cornerstone Insurance: https://www.cornerstoneins.ca/ Sherwood Ford: https://www.sherwoodford.ca/ Sports Closet: https://sportscloset.ca/ Greta Bar Edmonton: https://www.gretabar.com/locations/edmontonAlberta Blue Cross: https://www.ab.bluecross.ca/index.php Star Mechanical: https://starmechanical.ca/Visit www.nationgear.ca for merch and more.Follow us on Instagram @oilersnationdotcomFollow us on Twitter/Facebook/TikTok @OilersNationReach out to [email protected] to connect with our Sales Team and discuss opportunities to partner with us! S2 Ep 266Defeated again

The Edmonton Oilers terrible season continued last night with a 6-3 loss to the Carolina Hurricanes. The game was over before the first-period buzzer sounded after the Hurricanes beat Stuart Skinner four times, which resulted in him being pulled. The Oilers fought back outscoring the Canes 3-2; however, it didn't matter. Of course, the loss is worse than anything else but the effort the team showed was equally as frustrating. Where was that kind of effort in the previous 17 games? Why has it taken so long for this team to show up? Today on Oilersnation Everyday, the guys want to hear from you. Head over to the Oilersnation YouTube channel and leave your thoughts in the Finning/CAT YouTube live chat. Throughout the show, they will read your thoughts out on air. What's frustrating you the most? Where do you want to see change? Is the season over? All of your questions, comments and concerns are welcome throughout the show. Tyler Yaremchuk won't be around today so instead Liam Horrobin will host the show. He will be joined by guest co-host Baggedmilk and Producer Aaron. Tomorrow, the Oilers take on the Washington Capitals at 1:00 pm mountain time, which means no show tomorrow. With that, the guys will quickly preview what they expect from the Oilers in that matchup. S2 Ep 265Looking for a win in Carolina

The Edmonton Oilers four-game road trip continues tonight in Raleigh, North Carolina. The Oilers will go head-to-head against the Carolina Hurricanes, the odds-on favourite to make the Stanley Cup final from the Eastern Conference at the start of the season. Much like the Oilers, the season didn't start perfectly for Carolina; however, they managed to get back on track quickly and now have a 7-3-0 record in their last ten games. Most recently, they beat the Pittsburgh Penguins on Saturday 4-2 with two goals coming from Seth Jarvis. Edmonton is still looking for its first win on this road trip. They had 2-0 leads versus the Tampa Bay Lightning and the Florida Panthers in their previous two games but weren't able to close out their competition. Head Coach Kris Knoblauch has gone to the blender with his lines for tonight. Leon Draisaitl has been elevated to the first line with Connor McDavid which has resulted in Connor Brown's demoted to the fourth. Additionally, Ryan Nugent-Hopkins will centre the second line with Evander Kane and Zach Hyman on his wings. There have been changes to the blueline too with Cody Ceci rotating on the bottom pair with Vincent Desharnais alongside Philip Broberg. Between the pipes, it looks like Stuart Skinner will get the nod over Calvin Pickard. What are your thoughts on these lineup decisions? Head over to the Oilersnation YouTube Channel and leave your questions comments and concerns in the Finning/CAT YouTube live chat throughout the show.  Hosted on Acast. S2 Ep 264The Edmonton Oilers Woes Continue

Despite a red-hot start to the game, the Edmonton Oilers found a way to lose yet again. Connor McDavid scored from an impossible angle in one of his more impressive games of the season, which was quickly followed by a goal from Evander Kane. The snowball started to form after Kane took a penalty eight seconds after scoring. The Panthers converted and then shortly after made it 2-2.The Oilers did regain the lead in the second period. McDavid was taken down on a breakaway and then made the Panthers pay for their mistake with a penalty shot goal. However, that was Edmonton's last goal, with Florida scoring three unanswered to win 5-3. So, what went wrong for the Oilers last night? Liam Horrobin will break everything down in today's edition of Oilersnation Everyday. With Tyler Yaremchuk away on vacation, Liam will be joined by Nation Dan and Producer Aaron. If you want to add something to the conversation, leave your questions, comments and concerns in the Finning/CAT YouTube live chat. With Nation Dan joining the show, they will also discuss fighting in the NHL. For those of you who don't know, Dan runs hockey fights, so if there's anyone to ask about fighting in the NHL, it's him.Additionally, news broke yesterday that the NHL is making a new international tournament. However, it won't be like a real World Cup, with only four teams set to compete. They will also break down that tournament on the show and would love to hear your thoughts.   Hosted on Acast. S2 Ep 263Getting back on track in Florida

The Edmonton Oilers' four-game road trip continues tonight versus the Florida Panthers. Unfortunately, the beginning of the road trip did not go as planned, as the Oilers fell 6-4 to the Tampa Bay Lightning after holding the lead going into the third period. The depth scoring showed up for Edmonton, with goals coming from Derek Ryan (twice), James Hamblin and Evan Bouchard. However, neither Connor McDavid nor Leon Draisaitl could find the back of the net, which ultimately proved to be the difference. Tonight, they will look to get back on the straight and narrow against a Panthers team with a 7-2-1 record in their last ten games. Calvin Pickard gets the nod between the pipes over Stuart Skinner, who has won three of his previous four games. To set you up for tonight's game, Tyler Yaremchuk will host a Sherwood Ford GIANT Pre Game Show edition of Oilersnation Everyday and will be joined by Liam Horrobin and Jay Downton. The three will discuss what happened on Saturday and what to expect from the Panthers tonight. Additionally, Frank Seravalli from Daily Faceoff will appear on the show. Frank will fill us in on what is happening for the Oilers in the trade market. Rumours started to swirl over the week that Edmonton have expressed heavy interest in Montreal Canadiens goaltender Cayden Primeau, Jake Allen and Samuel Montembeault. Frank will give us insight into how close that deal is. If you want to add something to the conversation, head over to the Oilersnation YouTube during the live show and leave your comments in the Finning/CAT live chat.  Hosted on Acast. S2 Ep 262The Oilers hit the road & Baggedmilk joins the show

Tyler Yaremchuk isn't around for today's show, so it is officially an Oilersnation Everyday with Liam Horrobin edition of the show. Helping Liam out of the show today is Producer Aaron, along with Baggedmilk, who will be on the Star Mechanical guest line. The three will break down everything with the Edmonton Oilers, including the upcoming five-game road trip. Additionally, Baggedmilk will give us his thoughts on the Oilers new head coach, Kris Knoblauch. It may have only been two games, but the Coach Garlic era has started with two straight wins with two big three periods. One debate happening in Edmonton right now is between the crease. Stuart Skinner has played excellently since Jack Campbell was sent to the Bakersfield Condors. He has a 0.944, 0.970 and 0.914 save percentage in his last three games. The debate isn't when Cal Pickard deserves to play but when Skinner needs a break. We will get Baggedmilk's thoughts on the situation. Also, on the show, a list has been swirling around the internet for the last couple of days showing the top 10 worst moves during the Connor McDavid era. The list is grim, but the guys will give their thoughts on the ranks on today's show. However, they will twist it by releasing some of the best moves during the McDavid era, too. Finally, Liam will wrap up the show with tonight's menu presented by DoorDash, the Betway Wrap and the Wendy's Daily Faceoff Survivor. Shoutout to the episode’s sponsors: Oodle Noodle: https://www.oodlenoodle.ca/ Cornerstone Insurance: https://www.cornerstoneins.ca/ Wilhauk Beef Jerky: https://www.wilhaukbeefjerky.com/Greta Bar Edmonton: https://www.gretabar.com/locations/edmontonCentury Mile Racetrack & Casino: https://www.cnty.com/centurymileAlberta Blue Cross: https://www.ab.bluecross.ca/index.php Visit www.nationgear.ca for merch and more.Follow us on Instagram @oilersnationdotcomFollow us on Twitter/Facebook/TikTok @OilersNationReach out to [email protected] to connect with our Sales Team and discuss opportunities to partner with us! S2 Ep 261The Oilers come from behind to beat Seattle

Things did not look promising for the Edmonton Oilers late in the 3-1 period. The Oilers were down 3-1, with the clock narrowing to zero until some heroics from Evander Kane saved the day.Kane scored two goals in the game's final moments to tie it up at 3-3. Then, in overtime, Kane came through again with another hat trick to give the Oilers a 4-3 win. Connor McDavid also got in on the action, initially making it 1-0. The win now gives the Oilers a three-game win streak as they look to continue to get their season back on track. Another big reason why the Oilers came away with two points last night was Stuart Skinner. The Edmonton native came up big many times throughout the game, giving the Oilers every chance to win the hockey game. Since Jack Campbell was sent to the Bakersfield Condors, Skinner's game has elevated, indicating he is back on the right path. Today on Oilersnation Everyday, Tyler Yaremchuk and Liam Horrobin will break down everything that went down last night at Rogers Place. What did you think of last night's Oilers game? Be sure to leave comments and concerns throughout the show in the Finning/CAT YouTube live chat. Joining Tyler and Liam on the show is Jason Gregor from Sports 1440. With Gregor, the three of them will talk about what they have seen from new head coach Kris Knoblauch. Gregor will also give his thoughts on last night's game and what he expects from the Oilers on their upcoming road trip. Shoutout to the episode’s sponsors: Betway: https://betway.com/en/sports Cornerstone Insurance: https://www.cornerstoneins.ca/ Sherwood Ford: https://www.sherwoodford.ca/ Sports Closet: https://sportscloset.ca/ Greta Bar Edmonton: https://www.gretabar.com/locations/edmontonAlberta Blue Cross: https://www.ab.bluecross.ca/index.php Star Mechanical: https://starmechanical.ca/Visit www.nationgear.ca for merch and more.Follow us on Instagram @oilersnationdotcomFollow us on Twitter/Facebook/TikTok @OilersNationReach out to [email protected] to connect with our Sales Team and discuss opportunities to partner with us! S2 Ep 260Taking on the Seattle Kraken

The Edmonton Oilers welcome the Seattle Kraken to Rogers Place tonight for their second matchup in five days. On Saturday night, the Oilers beat the Kraken 4-1 on the road, with help from a Zach Hyman hat trick. Stuart Skinner had his best game of the season, posting a 0.944 save percentage. However, despite the win, Jay Woodcroft and Dave Manson were relieved of their coaching duties the following day, which left a bitter taste in fans' mouths about the organization. Now that Woodcroft is gone as the head coach, the Kris Knoblauch era began on Monday night versus the New York Islanders with a 4-1 win. Tonight, they will look for a similar; however, they will be without Dylan Holloway, who is now out long-term with a knee injury. Some good news on the injury is that Connor Brown will likely return tonight. Brown has been out since the Oilers lost 4-3 to the Dallas Stars. Fans have mixed reviews about Brown, but with Knoblauch now behind the bench, it's a new start for everyone.Today's episode will be a Sherwood Ford GIANT Pre Game Show edition of Oilersnation Everyday with Tyler Yaremchuk, Liam Horrobin and Jay Downton. The three will be live from Sherwood Ford, and you can interact with them in the Finning/CAT YouTube live chat. Your thoughts are always welcome on the show.Other news surrounding the Edmonton Oilers is the play of Jack Campbell. Campbell was sent down the Bakersfield Condors last week, and saying he has struggled is an understatement. In his three starts, Campbell has a 4.36 goals-against average and a 0.820 save percentage. His future will be discussed on today's show, too. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

S2 Ep 259The Knoblauch era begins with two points

The Kris Knoblauch era starts with a bang as the Edmonton Oilers defeat the New York Islanders 4-1. The Oilers got big contributions from their top guns, with Leon Draisaitl leading the charge with a goal and three assists. Additionally, Connor McDavid ended his goalless drought with his third of the year. Zach Hyman and Evander Kane each grabbed a goal in the win, too. The start was less than ideal for Edmonton, who allowed the Islanders to score 40 seconds into the first period. From then on, Stuart Skinner was able to settle into his crease, stopping the next 31 shots. Skinner has now had back-to-back games of allowing one goal and has a save percentage of over 0.940. One unfortunate incident that happened last night was Dylan Holloway's injury. Holloway didn't return to the game following the crash into the boards, and his status for future games is still questionable. Who should be stepping into his role on the third line in his absence? Tyler Yaremchuk and Liam Horrobin will dig into everything that happened last night down at Rogers Place. Even with the two points in the bag, there was still plenty to talk about as the Oilers looked to get back on a straighter path under their new head coach. Joining Tyler and Liam on the show is Bruce Curlock. With Bruce, the three of them will discuss what a Knoblauch team could look like in the coming weeks. They will also talk about the play of Raphael Lavoie and James Hamblin and who could come up to replace Holloway. Shoutout to the episode’s sponsors: Betway: https://betway.com/en/sports Oodle Noodle: https://www.oodlenoodle.ca/ Cornerstone Insurance: https://www.cornerstoneins.ca/ Sherwood Ford: https://www.sherwoodford.ca/ Sports Closet: https://sportscloset.ca/ Greta Bar Edmonton: https://www.gretabar.com/locations/edmontonAlberta Blue Cross: https://www.ab.bluecross.ca/index.php Star Mechanical: https://starmechanical.ca/Visit www.nationgear.ca for merch and more.Follow us on Instagram @oilersnationdotcomFollow us on Twitter/Facebook/TikTok @OilersNationReach out to [email protected] to connect with our Sales Team and discuss opportunities to partner with us! S2 Ep 258Woodcroft Out, Knoblauch In

The Edmonton Oilers decided it was time to make a change yesterday despite beating the Seattle Kraken 4-1 on Saturday night. Jay Woodcroft and his assistant coach Dave Manson, were relieved of their duties and replaced by Kris Knoblauch and Paul Coffey. Woodcroft leaves the Oilers with a 3-9-1 record this season; however, he has the best win percentage of all time by an Oilers coach. What are your thoughts on this decision? The Finning/CAT YouTube live chat will be open throughout the show for you to leave your comments. Tyler Yaremchuk and Liam Horrobin will be reading to the comment section throughout the show, so do not hesitate to join in on the conversation. There's a press conference with every coaching change, and yesterday was no different. However, what was different was the feeling within the room. Jeff Jackson, Ken Holland, Kris Knoblauch and Paul Coffey faced the media after the decision, but the four were not on the same page. There were multiple moments throughout that left fans questioning what exactly was going on in the organization. Tyler and Liam will give their thoughts on what exactly happened during that media availability. Towards the show's end, Tyler returns from the Nation Vacation to Seattle today. He will briefly break down the trip and discuss the group's reaction when Woodcroft and Manson lost their jobs. Shoutout to the episode’s sponsors: Betway: https://betway.com/en/sports Oodle Noodle: https://www.oodlenoodle.ca/ Cornerstone Insurance: https://www.cornerstoneins.ca/ Sherwood Ford: https://www.sherwoodford.ca/ Sports Closet: https://sportscloset.ca/ Greta Bar Edmonton: https://www.gretabar.com/locations/edmontonCentury Mile Racetrack & Casino: https://www.cnty.com/centurymileAlberta Blue Cross: https://www.ab.bluecross.ca/index.php Star Mechanical: https://starmechanical.ca/Visit www.nationgear.ca for merch and more.Follow us on Instagram @oilersnationdotcomFollow us on Twitter/Facebook/TikTok @OilersNationReach out to [email protected] to connect with our Sales Team and discuss opportunities to partner with us! S2 Ep 257Oilers lose to the Sharks & Luke Gazdic joins the show

When you thought things couldn't get any worse for the Edmonton Oilers, they lost 3-2 to the San Jose Sharks. With that loss, the Oilers move to 2-9-1 on the season and are now last in the NHL. Is the season over? There's a long way to go yet; however, if Edmonton doesn't change how they're playing on the ice, we may have to start talking about the draft sooner than we'd like. The team lacks urgency in many areas, and the star players haven't shown up consistently enough. While the depth of this team is also lacking, it is never good when Darnell Nurse has more goals than Connor McDavid. Today, Tyler Yaremchuk and Liam Horrobin will break down the action from last night in San Jose. If you have some thoughts that you would like to contribute to the conversation, head over to the Oilersnation YouTube Channel and leave your comments in the Finning/CAT live chat. Your thoughts will be welcomed as the Oilers crush everyone's dreams. Also on the show, Tyler and Liam will be joined by former Edmonton Oilers forward Luke Gazdic. With Luke, the three of them will discuss what has been going wrong with this team. Additionally, they will ask Luke for an inside-the-locker-room perspective during situations like this one. Finally, the Oilers may be desperate enough now to pull the trigger on a move. Should that move be a coaching change, or do players need to be moved on? They will discuss that, too.Shoutout to the episode’s sponsors: Betway: https://betway.com/en/sports Oodle Noodle: https://www.oodlenoodle.ca/ Cornerstone Insurance: https://www.cornerstoneins.ca/ Sherwood Ford: https://www.sherwoodford.ca/ Sports Closet: https://sportscloset.ca/ Greta Bar Edmonton: https://www.gretabar.com/locations/edmontonCentury Mile Racetrack & Casino: https://www.cnty.com/centurymileAlberta Blue Cross: https://www.ab.bluecross.ca/index.php Star Mechanical: https://starmechanical.ca/Visit www.nationgear.ca for merch and more.Follow us on Instagram @oilersnationdotcomFollow us on Twitter/Facebook/TikTok @OilersNationReach out to [email protected] to connect with our Sales Team and discuss opportunities to partner with us! S2 Ep 256Changing the mojo & Carter Hutton joins the show

The Edmonton Oilers are in the thick of it right now. Only eleven games into the season, many fans have given up on the team, but tonight, they have an excellent opportunity to regain confidence. Tonight, the Oilers travel to San Jose to take on the Sharks. The Sharks have been the worst team in the NHL, allowing ten goals in a game twice this season. They sit last in the league with a 1-10-1 record and are coming off a 2-1 win over the Philadelphia Flyers. San Jose has struggled to score all season, with only 14 goals. Can the Oilers get it done? Is tonight the night things get rolling for them? Tyler Yaremchuk and Liam Horrobin will set you up tonight's action with a Sherwood Ford GIANT Pre-Game. If you want to contribute something to the conversation, leave your comments for Liam and Tyler in the Finning/CAT YouTube chat. Carter Hutton will also be joining the show. The former NHL goaltender will give us some insight into what it is like seeing a teammate get sent down to the American League, if Stuart Skinner can turn it around and when he expects to see this Oilers team turn things around. Tyler and Liam will wrap up today's show with their Wendy's Daily Faceoff Survivor pick. S2 Ep 255The future in goal & Frank Seravalli joins the show

Yesterday was a miserable one for us Edmonton Oilers fans. The team put together a terrible performance versus the Vancouver Canucks, losing 6-2 on Monday night. That was then followed by Jack Campbell going on waivers. While at the moment this was a necessary move by Ken Holland, it is extremely disappointing to see Campbell hit waivers not even two years after signing his $5.5 million deal. So what is next for Edmonton? Well, the immediate change is Cal Pickard is reportedly joining the team. After that, the future between the pipes is up in the air. Frank Seravalli from Daily Faceoff will join Tyler Yaremchuk and Liam Horrobin on Oilersnation Everyday today. With Frank, they will discuss what the plan is moving forward in goal for the Oilers. Who are the realistic options? Does Campbell still have a future in Edmonton? On top of that, they will talk about the future of Ken Holland Jay Woodcroft, the vibes within the dressing room and where help is going to come from for this team. Additionally, they will review the latest news from around the National Hockey League. As always, if you have something you would like to add to the conversation, leave your thoughts in the Finning/CAT YouTube live chat. In order to leave a comment, you need to subscribe to the Oilersnation YouTube channel. Tyler and Liam will wrap up today's show with their Wendy's Daily Faceoff Survivor pick. S2 Ep 254The Edmonton Oilers are broken

The Edmonton Oilers lost again last night making their record now 2-8-1 after eleven games. Edmonton had a promising start putting 19 shots on Thatcher Demko, who was between the pipes for the Vancouver Canucks. Mattias Ekholm was able to beat him with his first goal of the season. However, that was the only bright spot for the Oilers last night. Shortly after, the team collapsed allowing two goals in just under two minutes after two mistakes. The rest of the night tilted in the Canucks favour from there as the Oilers fell 6-2. The Oilers showed some flair in the third period with Zach Hyman getting into a fight with JT Miller; along with Connor McDavid getting involved in scrums. Jay Woodcroft even saw the gate early after being ejected for making comments to the officials. Last night certainly felt like rock bottom for this team. On today's show, Tyler Yaremchuk and Liam Horrobin will break down where this team is at right now and what changes need to be made. Tyler was also at the game last night so he will give us the perspective of what it was like from inside the building. What would you do the change the Oilers fortunes? Is it time to make a trade? does Jeff Jackson need to drop the hammer and relieve Ken Holland or Jay Woodcroft of his duties? Should they consider calling up one of the two goaltenders in Bakersfield? Leave your thoughts in the Finning/CAT live YouTube chat throughout the show. Hosted on Acast. S2 Ep 253The Edmonton Oilers Struggles Continue

Have we finally reached the point of panic? It feels that way, doesn't it? The Edmonton Oilers put together another dismal display on Saturday afternoon, losing 5-2 to the Nashville Predators. Earlier in the season, the Oilers dominated the Predators in Nashville; however, only a few weeks later, the roles reversed, and Edmonton had no counter to the Preds' attack. What's the issue? Is there an issue with Jack Campbell and Stuart Skinner? Is the blueline good enough? Is the offence good enough? All are reasonable questions to ask. On today's show, Tyler Yaremchuk and Liam Horrobin will answer those questions for you all. You can interact and give your thoughts on the current state of the Oilers, too. Head over to the Oilersnation YouTube channel and leave your thoughts in the Finning/CAT live chat. It's strongly encouraged by the hosts that you leave your opinions to add to the conversation on the show. Of course, today is also a Sherwood Ford GIANT Pre-Game Show edition of Oilersnation Everyday. Tonight, the Oilers take on the Canucks in Vancouver. Edmonton's last visit to Vancouver was on opening night when the Canucks put eight passed Campbell and Skinner. Perhaps that should've been more of a sign of what was to come this season. Later that week, the two teams clashed again, and a late goal from Sam Lafferty gave Vancouver a 4-3 win, sending the Oilers to 0-2-0.Will tonight be a different tale for the Copper and Blue? The Oilers will be looking for their third win of the season and second win in a row, after being the Calgary Flames 5-2 in the Heritage Classic on Sunday. It has been a tough start to the season for the Oilers, but momentum seems to be in their favour now, as they take on another cup contender in the Stars. On the other hand, the Stars have had a fantastic start to the season. They currently hold a 6-1-1 record with their only regulation loss coming on at home versus the Toronto Maple Leafs. They got back on track almost immediately beating the Columbus Blue Jackets and Flames this week. Roope Hintz and Jamie Benn are leading the charge with three goals and eight points each. S2 Ep 251Sam Gagner Returns & Frank Seravalli Joins The Show

Welcome to Day Three without Edmonton Oilers hockey. It has been a grind coming from the high of a victory at the Heritage Classic over the Calgary Flames. Thankfully, the Oilers are back in action tomorrow to take on the Dallas Stars at Rogers Place. The guys will preview that game a little before getting to Frank Seravalli from Daily Faceoff. With Frank, the three of them will recap the Heritage Classic. Frank will give his perspective on the event and we will find out if he thinks the event needs to be improved or if it is perfect the way it is. Additionally, the NHL came down hard on the Ottawa Senators today, not even a week after suspending Shane Pinto for 41 games. Did the NHL make the right decision here? The biggest news out of Oilers Country, though, is that Sam Gagner has signed back with the team. The Oilers announced yesterday that they have signed Gagner to a one-year deal, after sending Adam Erne to Bakersfield. Also on the show, Liam has come up with a game for Tyler and the listeners to play along with. He will describe a former Oilers career and wait for you to guess the correct answer. S2 Ep 250Pacific Division Power Rankings

The Edmonton Oilers have a few days off until they take on the Dallas Stars. The Copper and Blue won't be in action until Thursday when they will look to continue their winning ways and scrap their way back to a 500 or better record. On today's show, Tyler Yaremchuk and Liam Horrobin will take a look around the Pacific Division. The Vegas Golden Knights seem to be running away with the division title right now with a 9-0-1 record. It is still early but will anybody catch them? There are a couple of surprisingly good teams in the Pacific Division too. The Vancouver Canucks and the Anaheim Ducks have come out of the games flying with both teams sitting in playoff spots. Are their rosters good enough to maintain the consistency they need to make the playoffs? If you have questions about what you want to ask Tyler and Liam do not hesitate to do so. Head over to the Oilersnation YouTube channel and interact with them in the Finning/CAT YouTube live chat. S2 Ep 249A Successful Heritage Classic

The Edmonton Oilers did not disappoint at the Heritage Classic, coming away with a 5-2 victory over their provincial rivals, the Calgary Flames. Right from the opening puck drop, the Oilers were ready to go. Brett Kulak got the scoring going within the first five minutes with his first of the season. Not long after, Zach Hyman joined in on the scoring after the Oilers had just killed a 5-on-3 penalty. Nazem Kadri pulled the Flames within one, but Evan Bouchard responded before the end of the first to restore the Oilers two-goal cushion. Calgary pushed back in the second period, scoring the only goal coming from AJ Greer; however, two goals in the third period helped the Oilers get their second win of the season. Vincent Desharnais scored the insurance goal, which was his first career goal. Tyler Yaremchuk and Liam Horrobin will review everything that went down at Commonwealth Stadium last night. While Liam was at home watching on the big screen, Tyler was at the Heritage Classic. He will give us his perspective on what the event was like, from dealing with the elements to being able to see the puck. If you were in the stadium for the game, join Tyler and Liam during the leave show and leave your memories in the Finning/CAT live chat. To close out the show, the guys will recap what's been happening with the Bakersfield Condors, including Raphael Lavoie, who won the AHL Player of the Week. S2 Ep 247Back on home ice and itching for a win

The Edmonton Oilers get back on home ice tonight after their lone game road trip versus the Minnesota Wild. Things were looking good through 40 minutes for the Oilers but a disastrous third period allowing five goals led to a 7-4 loss. They will be welcoming the New York Rangers to Rogers Place, who have had a good start to the season. The Rangers have won back-to-back games allowing only one goal in both versus the Seattle Kraken and Calgary Flames while scoring seven. Artemi Panarin is leading the way for New York with three goals and eight points in six games to start the year.Tyler Yaremchuk, Liam Horrobin and Jay Downton will all be in the studio to get you prepared for tonight's action. Today's Sherwood Ford GIANT Pre-Game show will also include Jonny Lazarus from Bleacher Report and The Hockey News. Jonny will give an insight into who the Rangers really are and the stories surrounding the team in the early days of the season. From an Oilers perspective, how will things change tonight? Life without Connor McDavid will continue but the offence didn't dry out completely after scoring four goals against the Wild. Evander Kane and Warren Foegele were big depth contributors and tonight the Oilers will need more of the same. Between the pipes, will it be Jack Campbell or Stuart Skinner? The guys will discuss that on the show today. Also tonight, the Oilers will honour Doug Weight and Charlie Hurdy by inducting them into their Oilers Hall of Fame.Shoutout to the episode’s sponsors: Betway: https://betway.com/en/sports Oodle Noodle: https://www.oodlenoodle.ca/ Cornerstone Insurance: https://www.cornerstoneins.ca/ Sherwood Ford: https://www.sherwoodford.ca/ Sports Closet: https://sportscloset.ca/ Greta Bar Edmonton: https://www.gretabar.com/locations/edmontonCentury Mile Racetrack & Casino: https://www.cnty.com/centurymileAlberta Blue Cross: https://www.ab.bluecross.ca/index.php Star Mechanical: https://starmechanical.ca/Visit www.nationgear.ca for merch and more.Follow us on Instagram @oilersnationdotcomFollow us on Twitter/Facebook/TikTok @OilersNationReach out to [email protected] to connect with our Sales Team and discuss opportunities to partner with us! S2 Ep 246Another disappointing night in Minnesota

The Edmonton Oilers' awful start to the season continued last night. After a promising first two periods, the Oilers folded in the third period, allowing five goals to the Minnesota Wild. Another game that they had in their hands slips away. Is it now time to worry about this team? That's the question floating around the capital city today, with the Oilers now sitting at 1-4-1. Tyler Yaremchuk and Liam Horrobin will discuss that in today's edition of Oilersnation Everyday. Join the two of them at noon mountain time for a good ole vent session about our beloved Oilers. You can leave your thoughts in the Century Mile Racetrack a,nd Casino live chat by subscribing to the Oilersnation YouTube channel. Despite the bad result, there were a few positives to take away from last night's defeat. Evander Kane seems to have got the ball rolling now after scoring a goal and an assist last night, along with a fight versus Brandon Duhaime. Additionally, Philip Broberg showed promise from the blueline bu, his minutes are still being restricted. Finally, Jack Campbell performed well between the pipes ma,king some grade-A saves; however, the defence in front of him didn't help him enough to earn the win. Also, on today's show, Bruce Curlock from Oilersnation will join the guys. The three of them will discuss what's going on down in Bakersfield with the Condors, some potential call ups and the Oilers change of systems.Last but not least, they will take a look around the sports world tonight with "The Menu", brought to you by DoorDash, where you can get 25% off your first order by using the promo code NATION25.Shoutout to the episode’s sponsors: Betway: https://betway.com/en/sports Oodle Noodle: https://www.oodlenoodle.ca/ Cornerstone Insurance: https://www.cornerstoneins.ca/ Sherwood Ford: https://www.sherwoodford.ca/ Sports Closet: https://sportscloset.ca/ Greta Bar Edmonton: https://www.gretabar.com/locations/edmontonCentury Mile Racetrack & Casino: https://www.cnty.com/centurymileAlberta Blue Cross: https://www.ab.bluecross.ca/index.php Star Mechanical: https://starmechanical.ca/Visit www.nationgear.ca for merch and more.Follow us on Instagram @oilersnationdotcomFollow us on Twitter/Facebook/TikTok @OilersNationReach out to [email protected] to connect with our Sales Team and discuss opportunities to partner with us! S2 Ep 245Taking on the Minnesota Wild

It's an Edmonton Oilers game day, which means today's episode of Oilersnation Everyday is a Sherwood Ford GIANT Pre Game Show edition of the show. You will get a full cast today with Tyler Yaremchuk, Liam Horrobin and Jay Downton all featuring on the show. Of course, the big headline is that Connor McDavid will not play for the Oilers tonight. McDavid will be out for one to two weeks with an upper-body injury that he suffered in Saturday's overtime loss versus the Winnipeg Jets. Without McDavid, the Oilers forward lineup will look a lot different, especially the first line. Leon Draisailt will centre Evander Kane and Mattias Janmark. Is this a good decision or should ay Woodcroft have experimented in different ways? Between the pipes, Jack Campbell is the expected start in what will be his fourth start of the season. Campbell has been much better this season but his numbers won't represent how well he has done. How are you feeling about Soup this year? Do you believe he should be the starter moving forward? Edmonton won't be the only team on the ice tonight, though, as they make the trip across the border to face the Minnesota Wild. Last season, the Oilers went 1-2-0 versus the Wild, with their lone win coming at Rogers Place when Ryan Nugent-Hopkins scored a goal and had a pair of assists. This season, the Wild have got off to a 2-2-1 start with wins over the Montreal Canadiens and Florida Panthers. To help the guys preview the game, Seth Toupol from Locked On Wild will join the show. Shoutout to the episode’s sponsors: Betway: https://betway.com/en/sports Oodle Noodle: https://www.oodlenoodle.ca/ Cornerstone Insurance: https://www.cornerstoneins.ca/ Sherwood Ford: https://www.sherwoodford.ca/ Sports Closet: https://sportscloset.ca/ Greta Bar Edmonton: https://www.gretabar.com/locations/edmontonCentury Mile Racetrack & Casino: https://www.cnty.com/centurymileAlberta Blue Cross: https://www.ab.bluecross.ca/index.php Star Mechanical: https://starmechanical.ca/Visit www.nationgear.ca for merch and more.Follow us on Instagram @oilersnationdotcomFollow us on Twitter/Facebook/TikTok @OilersNationReach out to [email protected] to connect with our Sales Team and discuss opportunities to partner with us! S2 Ep 244Life without Connor McDavid

Well Oilers fans, just when you thought things could not get much worse to begin the 2023-24, Connor McDavid is now out for one to two weeks and could potentially miss this Sunday’s Heritage Classic.McDavid left the game late in the third period and did not play in overtime. Edmonton ultimately fell 3-2 in the extra period after Mark Scheifele beat Stuart Skinner. It was a disappointing outcome for the Oilers, especially after they held a 2-0 lead after the first period. Unfortunately, another goaltending mistake led to the game-tying goal in the second period. It’s now three games in a row that the Oilers have allowed a shorthanded goal.Tyler Yaremchuk and Liam Horrobin will get into all of that and more on Oilersnation Everyday. If you have something you would like to add to the conversation, be sure to watch whilst the guys are live and leave your comments in the Century Mile Racetrack and Casino live chat. The guys will want to hear your thoughts on Connor McDavid, the Stuart Skinner mistake and what to expect without 97.For today's show, Matt Larkin from Daily Faceoff will join the guys. The three of them will walk you through what happened around the NHL. They will discuss the Rasmus Andersson suspension/appeal, Connor Bedard's first game in Chicago and the undefeated teams in the NHL. If you have a question for Matt, drop your comments in the live chat. Finally, they will wrap up with their Betway bets of the weekend and what to look forward to in the betting world for the rest of the week.  Hosted on Acast. S2 Ep 243The early season struggles continue

The Edmonton Oilers' struggles to begin the 2023-24 NHL season continued last night in Philadelphia. The Oilers fell 4-1 to a Flyers team that has significantly more urgency to their game from start to finish. So, what's the problem with the Oilers? Tyler Yaremchuk and Liam Horrobin encourage you to leave your thoughts in the Century Mile Racetrack and Casino live chat. Head over to the Oilersnation YouTube channel and subscribe in order to leave your thoughts. Also, on today's show, Baggedmilk joins Tyler and Liam for his weekly appearance on the Bro Down. BM won't shy away from giving his thoughts on the Oilers as the three of them will discuss Evander Kane's place in the lineup, the state of the blue line and the men between the pipes. Additionally, while they will be reviewing last night's game, they will also look ahead to what's happening this weekend for the Oilers. Edmonton is back on home ice to take on the Winnipeg Jets, whose bus ride should've just started.Similar to Edmonton, the Jets have had a tough start to the year, holding a 1-3-0 record, with their most recent loss coming last night to the Vegas Golden Knights. Gabe Villari won't be in the Winnipeg lineup after injuring his knee against his old team, the LA Kings, earlier in the week. However, Mark Scheifele and Connor Hellebuyck will be after the pair of them signed new deals to stay in Winnipeg for the long term. To help the guys preview the game, Murat Ates from The Atheltic will join the show for his debut appearance. Shoutout to the episode’s sponsors: Betway: https://betway.com/en/sports Oodle Noodle: https://www.oodlenoodle.ca/ Cornerstone Insurance: https://www.cornerstoneins.ca/ Sherwood Ford: https://www.sherwoodford.ca/ Sports Closet: https://sportscloset.ca/ Greta Bar Edmonton: https://www.gretabar.com/locations/edmontonCentury Mile Racetrack & Casino: https://www.cnty.com/centurymileAlberta Blue Cross: https://www.ab.bluecross.ca/index.php Star Mechanical: https://starmechanical.ca/Visit www.nationgear.ca for merch and more.Follow us on Instagram @oilersnationdotcomFollow us on Twitter/Facebook/TikTok @OilersNationReach out to [email protected] to connect with our Sales Team and discuss opportunities to partner with us! S2 Ep 242Looking for a second win versus the Flyers

The Edmonton Oilers are looking for their first win streak of the season with a stop in Philadelphia to face the Flyers, as they continue their mini road trip. The Philadelphia Flyers have had a good start to the season. In the pre-season, many believed the Flyers would be a bottom feeder but they have a 2-1-0 record with wins over the Columbus Blue Jackets and Vancouver Canucks, who beat the Oilers twice to start the year. Travis Konecny is leading the way with three goals and five points in three games. Then between the pipes, the Sherwood Park product, Carter Hart has started all three games and has a 2.35 goals against average along with a 0.922 save percentage. As for the Oilers, Jack Campbell stood on his head on Tuesday night in a 6-1 win over the Nashville Predators. You could make the argument that his 42-save performance was his best for the Oilers in the regular season. Tonight, Soup gets the nod again. Do you agree with the decision or should Jay Woodcroft have given the net back to Stuart Skinner? Of course, today's episode of Oilersnation Everyday is a Sherwood Ford GIANT Pre Game Show edition. Tyler Yaremchuk and Liam Horrobin will be around as usual and they will be joined by Jay Downton. The three of them will get you set up for tonight's action against the Flyers. S2 Ep 241Oilers win & Frank Seravalli joins the show

The Edmonton Oilers went into Nashville last night and left with their first two points of the season.Of course, it was the Mayor of Smashville, Leon Draisaitl, who led the way with a pair of goals and four points on the night. However, while Draisaitl was the headline offensively, it was Jack Campbell who earned the first star of the game in what was one of his best performances in Copper and Blue. Campbell stopped 42 of 43 shots for his first win of the season. If you watched the game, you will know that Soup was the difference in the opening stages until the Oilers offence woke up. What did you think of Campbell's performance? Let Tyler Yaremchuk and Liam Horrobin know in the Century Mile Racetrack and Casino live chat. To leave your thoughts in the live chat, make sure you are subscribed to the Oilersnation YouTube channel. Also, in last night's game, Jay Woodcroft went to the blender after two poor performances against the Vancouver Canucks. He went with the big dogs on the first line, putting Draisaitl with Connor McDavid and Evander Kane. Then, on the second line, Warren Foegele moved up onto a line with Ryan Nugent-Hopkins and Zach Hyman, which Tyler felt the consequences of. The guys will give their thoughts on the new lines heading into the rest of their matchups this week. Finally, Frank Seravalli from Daily Faceoff will join the midway through the show for his weekly segment. S2 Ep 240The Mattias Ekholm Revenge Game

The Edmonton Oilers are in a surprising position as they head into their third game of the season. Winless, Edmonton take on the Nashville Predators tonight for their second road game of the season. On Oilersnation Everyday, Tyler Yaremchuk and Liam Horrobin will preview the action on the ice, along with Michael Gallagher from Nashville Hockey Now. The Predators have a 1-2-0 record to begin their season, with their lone win coming against the Seattle Kraken. Colton Sissons leads the way with three goals in as many games and is quickly followed by Filip Forsberg with three assists. As usual, Nashville's goaltending has been excellent, with Juuse Saros posting a 2.41 GAA and a 0.919 SV%. Also, tonight, it will be the first time that Mattias Ekholm and Tyson Barrie have played against their former teams since getting traded last spring. Could this possibly lead to a revenge game for each of them? And, of course, how could we forget about Leon Draisaitl, AKA the Mayor of Smashville. Draisaitl has two games in two games so far this season; however, his record against the Predators is special. The Oilers forward has 22 goals and 35 points in 22 games against Nashville. Can he keep that hot streak alive tonight as the Oilers seek victory? As always, Tyler and Liam strongly encourage you to interact with them during the show. S2 Ep 239Panic Mode?

The Edmonton Oilers start to the regular season has been unexpected. After two games, the Oilers are one of a handful of teams not to win a game yet.Last Wednesday was a disaster falling 8-1 to the Vancouver Canucks. Then, on Saturday night, Edmonton had an opportunity to redeem themselves against those same Canucks. It was a great start, with Leon Draisaitl scoring within a minute of the puck dropping. Along with that, the three of them will look at Saturday's matchup and discuss how this battle will fall. Heading into Saturday night, should the Edmonton Oilers make any changes? Should Jack Campbell or Stuart Skinner start? If Mattias Ekholm isn't healthy, should the blueline stay the same? Finally, should Jay Woodcroft mix up the forward lines after only one game? S2 Ep 237What happened last night?

The Edmonton Oilers laid an egg last night, falling 8-1 to the Vancouver Canucks in their season opener. Leon Draisaitl scored the Oilers lone goal of the game; however, the game was already gone at that point. The Canucks had already scored four goals before the Oilers found the net. Brock Boeser had himself a night for the Canucks, scoring four goals. Conor Garland, Elias Peterson, JT Miller and Dakota Joshua got in on the action, too, with their first goals of the season.Additionally, after a great pre-season, Jack Campbell was pulled. The decision came after Campbell allowed four goals on 16 shots, but was it really his fault? Stuart Skinner did not come in and shut the door either, allowing four goals, too. So what happened? There are plenty of questions to be asked about what happened last night, including should the absences of Mattias Ekholm be this noticeable. Is the goaltending good enough? Where was the work ethic from everyone? Tyler Yaremchuk and Liam Horrobin will break it all done on Oilersnation Everyday live at noon. If you want to participate in the conversation, head over to the Oilersnation YouTube channel, hit subscribe, and then drop your message in the Century Mile Racetrack and Casino live chat.  On top of that, Tyler and Liam will take a look around the NHL from last night. Connor Bedard scored the first goal of his career, the Toronto Maple Leafs came from behind to beat the Montreal Canadiens off the back of an Auston Matthews hat trick, and the Calgary Flames paid tribute to Chris Snow.Shoutout to the episode’s sponsors: Betway: https://betway.com/en/sports Oodle Noodle: https://www.oodlenoodle.ca/ Cornerstone Insurance: https://www.cornerstoneins.ca/ Sherwood Ford: https://www.sherwoodford.ca/ Sports Closet: https://sportscloset.ca/ Greta Bar Edmonton: https://www.gretabar.com/locations/edmontonCentury Mile Racetrack & Casino: https://www.cnty.com/centurymileAlberta Blue Cross: https://www.ab.bluecross.ca/index.php Star Mechanical: https://starmechanical.ca/Visit www.nationgear.ca for merch and more.Follow us on Instagram @oilersnationdotcomFollow us on Twitter/Facebook/TikTok @OilersNationReach out to [email protected] to connect with our Sales Team and discuss opportunities to partner with us! Raphael Lavoie, Ben Gleason and Lane Pederson were put on waivers and all cleared, but is it the right idea to send them all done? That topic, along with everything else mentioned and more, will be discussed on today's episode of Oilersnation Everyday. Shoutout to the episode’s sponsors: Betway: https://betway.com/en/sports Oodle Noodle: https://www.oodlenoodle.ca/ Cornerstone Insurance: https://www.cornerstoneins.ca/ Sherwood Ford: https://www.sherwoodford.ca/ Sports Closet: https://sportscloset.ca/ Greta Bar Edmonton: https://www.gretabar.com/locations/edmontonCentury Mile Racetrack & Casino: https://www.cnty.com/centurymileAlberta Blue Cross: https://www.ab.bluecross.ca/index.php Star Mechanical: https://starmechanical.ca/Visit www.nationgear.ca for merch and more.Follow us on Instagram @oilersnationdotcomFollow us on Twitter/Facebook/TikTok @OilersNationReach out to [email protected] to connect with our Sales Team and discuss opportunities to partner with us! S2 Ep 234Raphael Lavoie shines & Frank Seravalli joins the show

The Edmonton Oilers took it to the Calgary Flames last night, defeating them 7-2 at Rogers Place. Granted, it was a weakened Calgary team going up against an Oilers roster close to full strength. Edmonton got goal contributions from Connor Brown twice, Lane Pederson, Connor McDavid, Leon Draisaitl, Evander Kane, and Raphael Lavoie. Between the pipes, Stuart Skinner stopped 18 of 20 shots in his three appearances of the exhibition season. The biggest storyline coming out of the game was the play of Raphael Lavoie. Last night was hands down his best of the pre-season, which should help him crack the opening night roster. Liam Horrobin was at the game, so he will break down what he saw from the Oilers former second-round pick. Continuing with the show, Frank Seravalli from Daily Faceoff joins Tyler Yaremchuk and Liam for his weekly hit. Yesterday, Frank broke the news on his Twitter about the salary cap increase following the board of governors meetings. Also coming from those meetings was the potential addition of more expansion teams joining the NHL, with cities like Houston, Quebec City and Atlanta all being name-dropped. On top of that, Frank will give us the latest updates from around the NHL and your Edmonton Oilers, including the health of Mattias Ekholm and Ryan McLeod.Yesterday afternoon, the Toronto Blue Jays season ended after losing two straight games to the Minnesota Twins—a disappointing end to an underwhelming season. Tyler will give his thoughts on the series and the future for the Blue Jays players and its management team. Shoutout to the episode’s sponsors: Betway: https://betway.com/en/sports Oodle Noodle: https://www.oodlenoodle.ca/ Cornerstone Insurance: https://www.cornerstoneins.ca/ Sherwood Ford: https://www.sherwoodford.ca/ Sports Closet: https://sportscloset.ca/ Greta Bar Edmonton: https://www.gretabar.com/locations/edmontonCentury Mile Racetrack & Casino: https://www.cnty.com/centurymileAlberta Blue Cross: https://www.ab.bluecross.ca/index.php Star Mechanical: https://starmechanical.ca/Visit www.nationgear.ca for merch and more.Follow us on Instagram @oilersnationdotcomFollow us on Twitter/Facebook/TikTok @OilersNationReach out to [email protected] to connect with our Sales Team and discuss opportunities to partner with us!
